They treated our dog like royalty (although she had to stay outside.) Food was wonderful. Snapper special with vegetables, Thai curry flavor, over rice was spot on. Friend had the grouper, over pasta with a mango chutney he loved. We decided the key lime cheesecake while good, was too much of two good things. Either cheesecake or key lime pie, not both. We never visited Seven Fish in their old location, but had dinner this week during our vacation in their new space and were not disappointed. First, it's beautiful and modern and has an overall fresh feel. That obviously carries over into their food, as we had some of the freshest seafood in the Keys for dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and hustled hard. She had the majority of tables from what I could tell and didn't miss a beat. I ordered the fresh catch special, which was grilled mahi over a cold corn, onion, and avocado salad. Honestly, such a light and refreshing meal! The fish was cooked to perfection and the salad was a great accompaniment. My husband had the scallops, which were served with mashed potatoes, spinach, and pea purée. The scallops were grilled with fresh ginger and garlic and had an awesome Asian twist. The only reason this isn't a five-star review is that we were in and out in about thirty minutes (yes, thirty minutes!). While I appreciate fast service, I felt a little rushed during our date night and wanted to enjoy our meal and wine slightly longer rather than giving them a quick-turn on the table. Definitely off the main drag but worth going too. I had the snapper Thai curry which is house specialty and this was absolutely perfect -slightly spicy but not overwhelming. Another person in my party had the homemade gnocchi's with blue cheese sauce and mahi-mahi, also cannot recommend that one enough. The blue cheese sauce was very subtle and everything was delicious. I'm still on the high that is Seven Fish.. I made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance, and I'm SO glad I did because this little space gets PACKED. I wanted to do something off the beaten path for the girl's birthday dinner, and they did NOT disappoint. The place is loud enough where you don't have to listen to anyone else's conversation as long as they're being equally polite, but you have about a foot of space in between tables. So don't be a dick when you come! We started with the sushi special. It was a crispy grouper roll with avocado. It came out SUPER fresh and we gobbled it up. She ordered the grilled mahi (and she HATES fishy fish, so this was a shocker), she ate nearly everything. I ordered the crab and mushroom pasta. It's gigantic and I basically ate all the meat and veggies and didn't make a dent it was SO big and delish!!! And can we talk about the rosemary bread??? Our chef overkills with rosemary all the time at work so I can't stand it anymore, but I figured I'd have a taste because we were on vacation, and OMGITSSOGOOOOD!!!! I asked our server what was the secret and she told me there was mashed potatoes in the dough? Amazing! We had the bananas flambe for dessert (delicious), and she brought them out with a candle for the girl to blow out. Happy wife, happy life! came with a couple of friends and our meal was fantastic! Started with ceviche and sushi rolls... Ceviche was amazing! So fresh and flavorful. My only suggestion to the restaurant is to serve those scoops chips as the ceviche is very liquidy. my friends had the sushi rolls and said they were good. For the main course we all ordered Yellow curry yellowtail snapper. Two of us got it spicy. We all loved it...again was absolutely delicious! Even the bread on the side was delicious. We ate here our first night in Key West, and it was easily the best meal we had all week. I resolved to eat as much seafood as possible during our 4 days in Key West, and I don't think I ate a single piece of protein that lived on land during our stay. Seven Fish was a great pick for this endeavor. Seafood dominated the menu, but was far from the only thing on the menu. This place is a few streets off the main drag, and not a place you would stumble across in your daily walk up and down Duval. It looks like it was a corner package store or maybe a lunch counter; it doesn't look like a new spot and our server informed me Seven Fish had been in that location for something like 14 years. Decor was nice; some local art hung on the walls, but the furniture was basic, sort of castaway chic. It's a small place, but we wandered in early without a reservation. I had one of the specials: snapper pan friend with smashed cloves of garlic in a spicy Thai curry and cream sauce. This was a few weeks ago, and as I think about it, that meal still makes me salivate. My wife had the crabcakes, which were also excellent. We split a bottle of carbernet sauvignon which nicely topped off the meal. Service was friendly and down to earth. If I return to Key West, I will most definitely, 100% eat here again...at least once. read more

So good in every way. Sat at the bar with my beautiful girlfriend. Bartender Karl was exceptional! Knowledgeable and engaging. Guided us through the menu and provided several wine tasting to pair. I can't say enough. We got the tuna poke to start: perfect. Nicely marinated with the avocado addition. We had the signature Currie Red Snapper. Amazing. So to describe Karl's attentiveness, when I asked for some more (fresh baked, crusty bread), he asked if we wanted the crusty heel or the softer middle. Who does that? Wonderful dinner the other evening. The Red Snapper Curry entree and Sea Scallops entree were excellently prepared and fresh.

New location was not as intimate as the old one but it was OK. Food was fine and service was good. When we were leaving, I was asked by the manager if there was a problem. We said no and she explained that we left only a 10% tip. I did not want to embarrass my guests so I told her to make it 20%. I actually left a 20% tip on the food total. I did not tip on the wine. I thought that her question was inappropriate and do not intend to return. read more

Somebody wrote that this place is overlooked too often. If that's the case then why do you need a reservation on a Tuesday night. I mean that place never seems to have an empty table. DEFINITELY make a RESERVATION!!! This was one of the best meals we've had in Key West. However I believe the hype had some sort of psychological effect on us. There was a line of 15 people waiting at the door for the joint to open at 6:00. By 6:10 every table was full. Our service was fine, meal was wonderful but not really memorable. We had high hopes for this place since it was highly recommended to us by friends. First our server seemed oblivious of her surroundings and didn't even take our dinner order until we had been seated for 50 minutes.(we had reservations too). She also got our cocktail orders incorrect and would not replace them. Secondly, the food was average at best. The prices didn't reflect the quality we were expecting. The only highlight of the meal was the bread since it is made in house and was tasty. For two people our bill was $150. We found MUCH better food at half the cost with other local joints. Fabulous and fresh seafood! Personable and friendly service! Memorable and wonderful experience. Eric at the bar was attentive as our server and bartender. Makes a great gin and tonic and has full command of his bar. The food that came out of the kitchen was tasty and well prepared. My husband and I started with the shrimp and red cabbage slaw and the mushroom and Brie quesadilla. Both were delicious and the perfect way to start our meal. I had the fish feast for one and my husband had the shrimp scampi with asparagus and angel hair pasta. Both dishes were amazing - the fish was fresh and the portions were perfect (we were hungry!!). Highlight of our Key West adventure. Make reservations ahead of time - they opened at 6 pm and it was busy as soon as the doors opened. We decided to try this after reading some good reviews on yelp. When we first arrived, they checked our temperature with a body temp reader (because of COVID). Then, we were escorted to our table. The seating was all indoor. You don't have to wear a mask at your table, but one must be worn when not seated at the table. We ordered the grouper sushi as an appetizer. I LOVED it! (It comes with 5 rolls, I just ate two before it came out). It was super hot and fresh. I ordered the Tuna and my boyfriend ordered the shrimp scampi. The tuna was pretty good but I wasn't as big of a fan of the pasta. It was good, I just don't really like goat cheese, so next time I would order it without. I had a little bit of the asparagus from my boyfriend's meal which was delicious. Also, the meals came with homemade bread which was delicious and not like something I've had before. I hail from the UK and have spent many $$$$$ on food all over Europe and this place has a real European feel. This place was a neighbourhood delight! The place is a tight fit and the staff work well in the confined space, the fish was certainly fresh and very tasty. The wine chilled like the atmosphere, and evening turned into a very enjoyable one. Set in the neighbourhood setting, the small restaurant has the makings of a fine business and we would certainly recommend you try it. Seven Fish is somewhat of a hidden gem in Key West. This small restaurant is just outside the craziness of Duval Street and easily missed but it is very popular among locals and foodies so reservations are highly encouraged. On my visit, the food was phenomenal. I tried the Crab Cake with Ginger Garlic Sauce and the fresh fish of the day, which happened to be Seared Tuna over penne pasta with herbs and goat cheese. The Crab Cake was the best I have ever tried, nicely creamy full of shredded and lump crab, herbs, and onion. The Tuna was perfectly seared, fresh, tender, and flavorful. The pasta and goat cheese was a perfect compliment to the fish. Overall, Seven Fish serves some of the best seafood I have ever tried and is a must visit. read more

SF offers a nice menu with a variety of aps and entrees, plus three local fish dishes that change based on local availability. The fish is so fresh and delicious that we visited twice on our most recent visit to KW. The servers and host are absolutely fabulous! Very patient and accomodating with food allergies and intolerances. An easy walk from anywhere in Old Town. Very small place. I highly recommend reservations. The food was generally good but not great. My husband and I both had specials of the day. His was shrimp and scallops with pasta, vegetables and a cream sauce. I had the house special of snapper in a thai cream sauce. In both cases the vegetables were a big miss. Broccoli and carrots that were all really over cooked. The broccoli was almost a mush.
