    Tanks of shellfish
    Kimberly M.

This restaurant was recommended to us on multiple trips to Lisbon and we finally made it. The seafood menu is large and many shellfish items can be ordered by the pound and are brought in but vats to the table. They have large tanks housing enormous lobsters and spider crabs, and ice tanks with beautiful fresh fish. Server was very friendly and quite funny and entertaining. We had a great bottle of local Sauvignon blanc for 25€, and he brought buttered, grilled toast and fresh cut cured ham to the table right away. Both of these were excellent. All three of us had grilled grouper, it was perfectly fresh, I thought mine was a hair over cooked which was disappointing. The veggies that came with it were very nice (broccoli and boiled potatoes). Recommend a drizzle of olive oil over everything and waiter brings oil and vinegar to table as a normal item. There were definitely locals dining in here and it was a great experience, they just lost a few points on the cooking of the fish.

Since we early and a little jet lagged came to the restaurant around 8pm, which is way too early for locals, hence no need for reservations. The first thing that catches your eye when you enter is the big lobster tank; it is impressive. They have menus in English which is always good and while we perusing the menus for served some Jamon Iberico education was good. I got the seafood bisque as a starter which was very salty with only 3 pieces of shrimp followed by the local speciality - Bacalhau à Brás which is a mix of cod fish, shredded potatoes and eggs with olives. Had a local with me and she additives the taste. It was surprised filling, didn't look big but has some calories. Rounded the meal with some caramel desserts which were a little too sweet for my liking.

The service was really quick, the food was delicious and wine was crisp and refreshing. Our waiter Carlos is obviously a professional at this and did a wonderful job providing excellent service as well as entertaining us. Whenever we are back in Lisbon, we will definitely go back to visit this restaurant.

The seafood meal for two. Wide selection of seafood in one big bowl. Was a bit too grainy, felt like chewing on sand.

Service was lousy! Waiter did his job but was not friendly at all. He did not seem to like tourists. The bread was drenched in butter and the crab soup was bland. We got the seafood meal for two. It was ok but not worth the price we had to pay. Although we sat in the non-smoking area, half way through dinner it smelled like cigarettes.

Should've been 5 stars - been here on few occasions and leave impressed (and full) every time.

We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.

You check in and then they ask you wait in their waiting area next door which looks a little bare and the outside patio seems like a smoking area. After we were called, we walked upstairs to a brightly-lit dining room. Lots of serving staff and all very friendly. Their menu is extensive and it's great they have photos too! My favorites had to be the giant tiger prawn, razor clams, and the crab head, but everything was tasted good and the seafood tasted fresh. Would recommend!

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.
