Carne asada taco

Pretty good. Placed was clean. Our waitress was attentive. The hosts barely greeted us, checked their phone, then figured out where we would sit. Vegan and vegetarian options are solid. I had a meat option and it was also super good too

I'm so glad to have them back! I stopped in after their recent reopening and it was just as good as I expected! The spicy Marg tasted great and the food was plentiful and delicious! The blue crab taquitos stood out in a crowded field of delicious options. The building looks great, and don't skip out on the arcade games in the basement!

Fabulous location, vibrant atmosphere and yummy food! The service excelled too despite a busy evening here.

The establishment is beautiful! I love the aesthetic. Then comes the food. Wow, the cilantro rice is absolutely amazing. Let's talk tacos now. The tacos are absolutely yummy. I quite enjoyed the chicken and the shredded beef!! Both corn and flour tortillas were delicious too. I love the nachos. The chips alone are perfectly salted and tasty. Drinks, say less. Yumm! They have many yummy options on Margs. I ordered a spicy mango marg, and a mezcal Paloma. The service was amazing. I absolutely love the bartenders who were very insightful and helpful and would create whatever you asked for. Mike is amazing. He might be a ninja who helped this event and was in and out, but he is an amazing individual who is the mastermind behind the food. Lastly, the games, absolute fun. You have to go to a place who has an arcade in the basement. What better secret than arcade games?! All in all I still find this company to be a 10 out of 10. I'm so happy they are reopening so please make sure you check them out!! And learn about it because they actually create all the food daily within the area !!

Friendly service. Good drinks. Four Hands on draft. Semi loud inside with cool music. Clean restrooms. Dining outside and on nice busy corner. Busy sometimes. Doesn't look like it but picked up quickly on a hot Thursday night.

Moved to STL from SoCal and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The drinks were well made as well. The bar tenders were friendly and attentive.

BYO Vegan taco with lettuce and avocado

This location is less rowdy than the loop; a tad bit classier, if you will. Food is the same across this chain so it's no better or worse here. It's just a more pleasant experience overall. Vegans have a few options here like a dedicated vegan taco made with vegan ground beef. They stopped using Impossible Meat and opted for locally owned Hungry Planet Beef (fka Match Meat). Even though I liked the Impossible meat better, I can totally get behind supporting locally owned small businesses (women owned to, or at least they used to be). It's one taco, but you can switch up the toppings to make a vegan variety taco flight. HOW TO GET VEGAN SIDES: The cilantro rice and chopped salad are automatically vegan. The rice is ok, flavorwise. Refried black beans are vegan when ordered sans queso. They taste a bit boring, and only slightly better when you mix them with the cilantro rice. Chile Crusted fries are vegan, you just can't have the accompanying baja sauce. Guacamole is vegan when ordered without the queso fresco. There's definitely more options for vegetarians, but vegans can manage just fine here. It tends to get very pricey at $3-$4 per street taco. By the time you order apps, a taco flight, sides, and a drink, you're at $40-$50 person easily. So watch out for that.

We thought we were being smart by going early to Mission Taco Joint, but it was a beautiful night and everyone wanted to sit outside. We took a table in the inside. My drink of choice was their sangria. Very tasty. I know he got two tacos and one of them was duck. He said they were both delicious and that he would get the duck all the time. I got the Baja fish (grilled) and the soft taco. The soft taco was plant based beef. It was very good and very spicy. They only offer one type of dessert (the churros with a chocolate dipping sauce. They were absolutely delicious. Would I come back here? Of course I will. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Cheeseburger taco

My girls and I decided to check out Mission Taco. Nice vibe from the sidewalk. Decided to sit inside--very nice atmosphere! Opened the menu, and we were surprised by the variety and novelty of the taco selections. I decided to go with 3 tacos--2 "sure thing" tacos (carne asada) and 1 "adventurous" taco (cheeseburger)... yes, you read that right. Maybe I chose poorly, but the carne asada meat was dry and pretty tasteless--disappointing really. The taco shell was also average, bland tasting. However, the cheeseburger taco (can you actually say those two words together?) was surprisingly good. I love pickles, and the pickles made it work. If you're in the mood for something completely out of the norm in taco world, give it a try : ) Overall, it is a fun place to hang out, but would not go back for the tacos, or at the very least I'd try something else.

Fun place, nice folks. I came in probably 45 minutes before closing on a weeknight, so not a busy time. So I was able to talk to my server for a bit, young guy that just moved back from studying at SIU which isn't far away, so he knows the area. I just bought a place in the CWE as they call it, and he was telling me about things to do and also downtown which isn't too far away. But to the food, real creative tacos, I had a beer battered BLT taco, the bacon being what's beer battered, elotas and Margarita and a churro for dessert. Everything very good, the drink could have been a bit stronger.

Fish taco and chicken taco

Named after the eponymous hood in SF, known for great Mexican, Mission Taco aims for a Mexicali style cuisine......and it delivers. The spot has a wide range of margaritas. Ask the bartender Raine to make you her favorite. She's solid. The drinks are money. The tacos though...the tacos are the jackpot. Warning they're mission style so they're small. But they're cheap so you can order enough to get full on a budget. The shrimp tacos are off the hook. The chicken is good too. I don't live in STL so I found this place on a lark. But best believe when I'm back here, I'll be stopping by the Mission again.

I'm just going to start off by saying. NOTHING BUT VIBES!! I love this location in the central west end. They have indoor and out door seating. I sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the amazing jazz band that played across the street. The waiter was great and explained the menu very well. I ordered the beef empanadas as an appetizer they were delicious. I also ordered a mango habanero shrimp taco and a hot fried chicken taco. Both delicious, the hot fried chicken taco was SUPER spicy! Definitely a great spot for tacos and great vibes.

The CWE has great hotspots and MTJ is one of the best. The waiting and bar staff are kind and knowledgeable. Anytime you are in the mood for tacos and margaritas - MTJ is a sure win.

The horchata was so dilute, I couldn't taste anything. The only saving grace were the chips and salsa - especially the salsa. Overall, this is a pretty overpriced place for below average food.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the tacos I ordered during my first visit, but I definitely forgot. I ordered a shrimp taco and while I was nervous that it would be small, it as actually a nice size and very filling. Was it a bit spicy? Yes. But I powered through because the flavors were good. The cilantro rice was also so good as a side and I loved the street corn, it was so creamy and delicious. My main pick when I visit now is the half southwest rice bowl with grilled chicken. It is the right portion size and has all the things I love in the rice bowl. I forgot to add avocado/guac on this last visit, but that's usually a good thing to add on top or to the side. RST is owned by an amazing couple who care about their guests and their products. The food is fun and tasty; drinks are fantastic. Inside you'll be graciously welcomed by the bartender if you slide onto a barstool-- or you can be seated at a table in the dining room or outside. They're usually a few decent beers on tap, and more available in cans. The bar manager does excellent work with a specialty cocktail menu and house-made shrubs and syrups. When we walked in, the place was empty, besides the singular bartender standing behind the bar. She told us to sit anywhere we wanted, so we chose a table near the bar. Then, she politely asked us to move to the bar. She apologized and said she was new and that she didn't know what was going on. We started with an order of chips and salsa and shared a mango margarita on the rocks. Let's just say our marg was missing the rocks. The bartender forgot to add ice, so our margita was warm. She gave us a cup of ice to pour in. The marg itself wasn't very strong and tasted pretty syrup-y. Although the chips and salsa only cost us $2.50, I probably could've gone without. I don't think I would've liked them even if they were complimentary. The salsa was decent, but the chips were saltless and flavorless. We ordered two tacos and the arroz con pollo plate. My tacos came out at different times. Both were tiny and disappointing. I had the Hemp Avenue taco and the Sarah Street taco. The black bean juice was everywhere. The tortillas were dry and fell apart. They brought out a quesadilla instead of our arroz con pollo plate. We were confused, but the bartender insisted the order was correct. Then, a few minutes later, the correct plate was brought out. I guess I can't be mad that we scored a free quesadilla. However, it was quite soggy and the cheese was almost a rubbery texture. While we were there, a DJ started playing. The volume of the music went back and forth between increasingly loud and extremely quiet. None of the other staff members acknowledged us whatsoever. It felt like we weren't even there. I hate sounding so pessimistic, so I will say two positive things: their outdoor patio looks like a fun spot in the summer, and I bet this would be a great option if you've been out partying all night and need some food in your belly. Overall a bizarre experience from start to finish!

I don't dine out as often as I used to, and sometimes it's necessary to get a cheeseburger. Of course I would never attempt to make a burrito in my own home. I wouldn't have visited Seoul Taco today, except that another restaurant I intended to visit, nearby, was closed. I'd read on the app that it's sometimes randomly not open during posted business hours, and wouldn't you know, that turned out to be the case today. Did the owner decide he'd rather go fishing? Is he in jail for a crime that would be considered reprehensible even by Grove standards? I'm not into spreading rumors. Ask someone at Pie Guy. Oh wait, you can't. This location of the local Korean fusion chain appeared to me like a beacon at the east end of the eclectic business district. It's in a weirdly nice building that may have been purposely designed to attract gainfully employed young people. The entire block, consisting of at least two apartment buildings and multiple storefronts, has the design language of a circa '08 Chipotle. If you wanted to, you could actually live in an apartment above Seoul Taco. Imagine how convenient that would be. I knew I should have tried harder in college. The burrito here is an especially generous serving, the fact that it consists primarily of rice notwithstanding, but the tacos might be the thing to get. It's a perfectly fine serving size, and the emphasis is on the meat, as it should be. Right, Puff Daddy? The Seoul Tacos come with your choice of meat, spring mix that's probably from a bag, some sort of sriracha-mayo mix and that might be it. I'm not familiar with the Street Tacos, and in fact I wasn't aware that they existed until just now. They might have more of an attitude. I toyed with the idea of getting a quesadilla, which is never bad, even if you get it from Taco Bell. Instead, I went with the Nachos, for a little textural contrast. I got one taco in addition to the nachos, because I hadn't had one in literally decades, and I figured it might be useful as a point of comparison if I visit any other restaurants that serve tacos. The nachos were surprisingly beef-forward. Rarely are you presented with an entree that has more beef in it than you expected. I felt like I was in a Wendy's circa 1983. For anything with beef in it, you pay a surcharge that, depending on the item, is almost enough to purchase an entire meal elsewhere, so I guess that's the least they can do. Meanwhile, there's not much cheese. Should it not be the opposite? By definition, nachos are chips and cheese. You don't even necessarily need the meat. Was the person who made this on drugs? There's a dispensary nearby. You're bombarded by the smell, if you park at that end of the street. For the taco, I went with the spicy pork, which might be the thing to get. The beef is great (ahem), and I suspect that the surcharge has as much to do with the taste as the food cost (they could just give you less of it, or jack up the price of everything else), but the pork is arguably just as good (with all due respect to the Honorable Minister), and it has the rare distinction of having a spice level appropriate for an adult of normal intelligence. You can actually taste it. If I were to return, I'd probably get the Seoul Tacos with the pork, even if money were no object. Like, if I won the lottery. I was delighted to see that this place has cookies, and of course I felt obligated to try one, as part of a balanced diet. They don't seem to be freshly baked, and they cost too much, but they're great. If I'm not mistaken, one of them was a matcha chocolate chip. Clearly, it was designed to appeal to the kind of person who would pay a premium to live upstairs. I went with some sort of salted caramel--like a chocolate chip cookie, but with caramel instead of chocolate. It was ginormous, tasty and probably very unhealthy. It had a texture not unlike those soft batch cookies they had to pull from the market because the trans fats would cause your heart to explode. If I ever die, it's their fault.
