Carne asada taco

Pretty good. Placed was clean. Our waitress was attentive. The hosts barely greeted us, checked their phone, then figured out where we would sit. Vegan and vegetarian options are solid. I had a meat option and it was also super good too

I'm so glad to have them back! I stopped in after their recent reopening and it was just as good as I expected! The spicy Marg tasted great and the food was plentiful and delicious! The blue crab taquitos stood out in a crowded field of delicious options. The building looks great, and don't skip out on the arcade games in the basement!

Fabulous location, vibrant atmosphere and yummy food! The service excelled too despite a busy evening here.

The establishment is beautiful! I love the aesthetic. Then comes the food. Wow, the cilantro rice is absolutely amazing. Let's talk tacos now. The tacos are absolutely yummy. I quite enjoyed the chicken and the shredded beef!! Both corn and flour tortillas were delicious too. I love the nachos. The chips alone are perfectly salted and tasty. Drinks, say less. Yumm! They have many yummy options on Margs. I ordered a spicy mango marg, and a mezcal Paloma. The service was amazing. I absolutely love the bartenders who were very insightful and helpful and would create whatever you asked for. Mike is amazing. He might be a ninja who helped this event and was in and out, but he is an amazing individual who is the mastermind behind the food. Lastly, the games, absolute fun. You have to go to a place who has an arcade in the basement. What better secret than arcade games?! All in all I still find this company to be a 10 out of 10. I'm so happy they are reopening so please make sure you check them out!! And learn about it because they actually create all the food daily within the area !!

Friendly service. Good drinks. Four Hands on draft. Semi loud inside with cool music. Clean restrooms. Dining outside and on nice busy corner. Busy sometimes. Doesn't look like it but picked up quickly on a hot Thursday night.

Moved to STL from SoCal and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The drinks were well made as well. The bar tenders were friendly and attentive.

BYO Vegan taco with lettuce and avocado

This location is less rowdy than the loop; a tad bit classier, if you will. Food is the same across this chain so it's no better or worse here. It's just a more pleasant experience overall. Vegans have a few options here like a dedicated vegan taco made with vegan ground beef. They stopped using Impossible Meat and opted for locally owned Hungry Planet Beef (fka Match Meat). Even though I liked the Impossible meat better, I can totally get behind supporting locally owned small businesses (women owned to, or at least they used to be). It's one taco, but you can switch up the toppings to make a vegan variety taco flight. HOW TO GET VEGAN SIDES: The cilantro rice and chopped salad are automatically vegan. The rice is ok, flavorwise. Refried black beans are vegan when ordered sans queso. They taste a bit boring, and only slightly better when you mix them with the cilantro rice. Chile Crusted fries are vegan, you just can't have the accompanying baja sauce. Guacamole is vegan when ordered without the queso fresco. There's definitely more options for vegetarians, but vegans can manage just fine here. It tends to get very pricey at $3-$4 per street taco. By the time you order apps, a taco flight, sides, and a drink, you're at $40-$50 person easily. So watch out for that.

We thought we were being smart by going early to Mission Taco Joint, but it was a beautiful night and everyone wanted to sit outside. We took a table in the inside. My drink of choice was their sangria. Very tasty. I know he got two tacos and one of them was duck. He said they were both delicious and that he would get the duck all the time. I got the Baja fish (grilled) and the soft taco. The soft taco was plant based beef. It was very good and very spicy. They only offer one type of dessert (the churros with a chocolate dipping sauce. They were absolutely delicious. Would I come back here? Of course I will. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Cheeseburger taco

My girls and I decided to check out Mission Taco. Nice vibe from the sidewalk. Decided to sit inside--very nice atmosphere! Opened the menu, and we were surprised by the variety and novelty of the taco selections. I decided to go with 3 tacos--2 "sure thing" tacos (carne asada) and 1 "adventurous" taco (cheeseburger)... yes, you read that right. Maybe I chose poorly, but the carne asada meat was dry and pretty tasteless--disappointing really. The taco shell was also average, bland tasting. However, the cheeseburger taco (can you actually say those two words together?) was surprisingly good. I love pickles, and the pickles made it work. If you're in the mood for something completely out of the norm in taco world, give it a try : ) Overall, it is a fun place to hang out, but would not go back for the tacos, or at the very least I'd try something else.

Fun place, nice folks. I came in probably 45 minutes before closing on a weeknight, so not a busy time. So I was able to talk to my server for a bit, young guy that just moved back from studying at SIU which isn't far away, so he knows the area. I just bought a place in the CWE as they call it, and he was telling me about things to do and also downtown which isn't too far away. But to the food, real creative tacos, I had a beer battered BLT taco, the bacon being what's beer battered, elotas and Margarita and a churro for dessert. Everything very good, the drink could have been a bit stronger.

Fish taco and chicken taco

Named after the eponymous hood in SF, known for great Mexican, Mission Taco aims for a Mexicali style cuisine......and it delivers. The spot has a wide range of margaritas. Ask the bartender Raine to make you her favorite. She's solid. The drinks are money. The tacos though...the tacos are the jackpot. Warning they're mission style so they're small. But they're cheap so you can order enough to get full on a budget. The shrimp tacos are off the hook. The chicken is good too. I don't live in STL so I found this place on a lark. But best believe when I'm back here, I'll be stopping by the Mission again.

I'm just going to start off by saying. NOTHING BUT VIBES!! I love this location in the central west end. They have indoor and out door seating. I sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the amazing jazz band that played across the street. The waiter was great and explained the menu very well. I ordered the beef empanadas as an appetizer they were delicious. I also ordered a mango habanero shrimp taco and a hot fried chicken taco. Both delicious, the hot fried chicken taco was SUPER spicy! Definitely a great spot for tacos and great vibes.

Mezcal margarita for taco week!

The CWE has great hotspots and MTJ is one of the best. The waiting and bar staff are kind and knowledgeable. Anytime you are in the mood for tacos and margaritas - MTJ is a sure win.

Moody lighting, cozy corners, and an effortlessly cool vibe make it the kind of spot where time slows down in the best way. We stopped in for their Sunday late night happy hour (8-11pm) and honestly? Elite move. The energy was relaxed but still buzzy, perfect for winding down the weekend without feeling like the night is over. The cocktails are art. Every drink feels intentional, balanced, and a little unexpected in the best way. You can tell the bartenders really know their craft. Whether you go classic or adventurous, you're in very good hands -- especially during happy hour when trying a couple different options feels very justified. What really seals the deal is the overall mood. It's date-night perfect, ideal for catching up with friends, or impressing out-of-towners who think they've "seen all of St. Louis." Service is warm without being overbearing, and the experience feels elevated without a hint of pretentiousness. Don't rush. Order another round. Let Sunday stretch a little longer.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, suggesting some of their favorite items. I love the vibe of the restaurant. It's just very aesthetically pleasing and a cute space overall. I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer. The portion size was generous, and they were tasty overall, though they had a tangy seasoning dusted on top that seemed a little odd at first. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. My friend ordered the vegan burger and absolutely loved it. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great atmosphere, though there was an unusual smell indoors, so I was very thankful we were able to grab one of the outdoor tables. Outdoor seating is pretty limited, though, so keep that in mind if you prefer sitting outside.

Hidden Gems in St. Louis -- and darling, the name is not exaggerating…read more I had the absolute pleasure of attending a birthday celebration here and let me tell you... this place is a vibe, a moment, and a whole sparkling experience. The space is intimate, stylish, and perfectly appointed -- the kind of place that feels like you've stumbled into a secret little jewel box in the city. It's cozy in the best possible way, with an atmosphere that invites laughter, celebration, and maybe just a little fabulous mischief. The bartenders? Absolute pros. Warm, welcoming, and clearly masters of their craft. Naturally, I ordered my classic gin and tonic, and it was perfection in a glass -- crisp, balanced, and exactly what a proper G&T should be. I heard from the birthday boy and his wonderful wife that the owners were incredibly accommodating, and you could feel that hospitality throughout the entire evening. Everything felt effortless and welcoming -- the kind of place where people clearly care about creating a great night. And then... the party truly began. We had drag queens serving glamour and joy, music, laughter echoing through the room, and pizza delivered from the birthday boy's favorite local pizza spot that honestly deserves its own standing ovation. If you want to know where that pizza came from, drop a comment -- because it was outrageously good. By the end of the night I couldn't stop thinking: this place really is a Hidden Gem. A perfect little pocket of St. Louis where good drinks, great people, and a bit of fabulous chaos come together. Sparkle-tastic. Gem-tastic. Pure joy. Highly recommend discovering this hidden gem for yourself. -- Big Daddy Tedd Energy

The upstairs lounge is perfect if you want to hang out with friends or just take a break and rest your feet for a bit. I absolutely love that space and how comfy it is. One of the biggest perks of Hidden Gems is their back room, which allows them to host events and fun pop-up experiences. I've been to a few, and most recently attended the "Taylor Swift: Bejeweled" experience. The space was decked out in all things Taylor, with every era clearly represented. Giant friendship bracelets hung from the ceilings and lined the walls, which was such a fun touch. And of course, there were plenty of photo ops with my close personal bff, Taylor herself! The drink menu was themed to match the eras, with tons of creative options. My friends and I tried several cocktails, along with a few NA options as well. I really appreciate that they offer non-alcoholic drinks as I've been cutting back on alcohol over the past few months, and it's nice to still have fun choices that actually taste good! The Mirrorball was easily my favorite drink of the night. It tasted just like an orange creamsicle and was served in a disco ball...so good and so fun. My last drink of the night was "So Long London," which was almost like a dessert in a glass. Highly recommend ending your night with that one!
