"Multiple Layers" of Deception and Unprofessionalism…read more.. In my correspondence with Gene K., a representative of Scope Environmental (cut and pasted from Yelp chat room) mentions "We can definitely help. Our asbestos inspection, survey, and lab results pricing is very competitive. It's $625 for the inspection and report. Each sample is $35. No other fees. Generally, results and reports will be available within 24-48 hours". Gene K. also mentioned the following "Some samples have multiple layers, and that can not be determined prior to taking the physical sample. You are welcome to call in so that you can properly comprehend the procedures". However, UNDISCLOSED FEES can creep into the price charged to the customer, e.g. such as the need to test "multiple layers" of one material; so, "No other fees" is (deliberately) misleading and therefore, deceptive. A field inspector (Daisy Flamenco) of Scope Environmental, arrived at the project site and upon seeing the area that needed sampling, asked the homeowner for a ladder to get her modest stature to the sampling material areas. When sampling the ceiling, Ms. Flamenco was barely able to reach the sampling surface (needed to be on her tippy toes), even with a step ladder (provided by the homeowner). ALL sample takers must come fully prepared for all conditions at the work site and not rely on the homeowner to provide tools, equipment or assistance of any kind to do THEIR job! Ms. Flamenco was dressed casually, no respirator or other appropriate protective equipment or gear, which is not only hazardous to herself, but sends the message to the homeowner (overseeing the work), that asbestos is really not that harmful. Even two and a half years following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is appropriate if all workers who enter a home, to wear a mask or at least offer to wear one, but Ms. Flamenco failed to show the occupants of the residence, such consideration. Most (professional) people return to bad pre-pandemic habits, even if to protect the home's occupants from the common cold. What is really inconsiderate and unprofessional, is that Ms. Flamenco had disturbed suspected asbestos containing materials by scraping and cutting away material from parts of a furnace and its ducts, leaving the furnace and ducts out-of-order, i.e. if no asbestos or other harmful materials were found, the furnace and ducts could not be safely and effectively used without first repairing them. Leaving carcinogenic materials exposed (cutting, scraping or otherwise removing and exposing asbestos) to those who live at the work site, is hazardous and unprofessional and should never be done this way. Exposing harmful materials puts people and animals at risk of exposure to carcinogens and asbestosis causing particles! Asbestos sample takers should take measures to seal or otherwise cover, exposed asbestos containing materials (when they are through sampling them), to protect home occupants. This experience was a wake-up call to how incompetent workers can make a bad situation, worse!

They had the main interior cleaners come before all the other work was done so we had to ask them to reclean the house (we found a lot of dirt and footprints in the house). There was mismanagement of the workers by the company. Our main agent couldn't make it and the replacement they sent to pick up our check straight up lied and ghosted us. All in all, the job was complete and they were open to redoing work when it wasn't done. So we appreciated that.

Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. As my grandma always said, you'll catch more flies with honey than hot sauce!

This is my first Yelp review ever. I called ServPro to help me with a very significant house flood. They were available late on a Friday evening and came out to the house to get started. Over the course of the next several days, they exhibited professionalism and great expertise as they set about drying out my house. I originally called out a competitor to ServPro, but ended up firing them. There was no comparison. ServPro was by far the most outstanding. I would use ServPro again if I find myself in this situation. They were there for me in my time of need. ServPro, and in particular Jitka, continued to help me even when their job was completed to answer all my questions and offer guidance on repair. Do not hesitate to call this company. Within minutes of placing my call for help after my laundry room flooded, I received a return phone call. Throughout the entire process of restoring my water damaged carpet padding, carpets, linoleum, and nerves, Serv Pro was prompt, professional and supportive. Jitka was not only efficient and knowledgeable, but available whenever I texted with a question, or a concern. The guys who came to the house were all very polite and helpful. Kent and Jitka were incredibly amazing. We called them after we had another mold remediation company do a terrible job in our house. Mold was still left through both bathrooms not to mention what a nightmare dealing with the other company was. Once they came into our house and started the work everything was done so fast. They also spoke to my insurance company and came over to our house after the job was done for a meeting at the request of my Adjuster spur of the moment. I was still in escrow so I could not get a physical inspection, instead I sent over the mold inspection report. I had one Saturday when I did my final walkthrough that I was able to get in-person estimates. Go Eco was the only company willing to come out on a weekend and on short notice. Based on the estimates, Go Eco was my final 3. Once I closed escrow, I contacted the other two companies to try to schedule an in-person estimate. Both wouldn't come out on a weekend and were not accommodating with my busy work schedule. Ultimately I went with Go Eco. When they came out that Saturday, they were punctual and gave me a good feeling about their work ethic. They also said they would match the price of a competitor. But for me they did even better, they did it for a couple hundred below. On the weekend of job, they showed up with 3 workers and did the cleaning in a day. They left the air scrubbers for an additional 4 days bc I couldn't come back out until the next weekend. At the completion of the job they did a walkthrough with me and showed all the work performed. Overall this company is top notch, has excellent customer service and very responsive via text. Highly recommended.

While Ron may not have been personally responsible for every issue, his team represented his company, and the overall experience was disappointing. The project ran well beyond the promised timeline and lacked proper organization from start to finish. I was also asked to pay for several change orders that resulted from mistakes on their side, which is something I would never agree to again. The construction site was constantly cluttered and poorly maintained. After seeing how other ADU projects are managed, I now realize a clean and organized job site should be the standard. When the ADU was finally completed, there were numerous problems, including significant plumbing issues and walls that were already showing signs of separation. During the final walkthrough, I was left to inspect everything on my own and discovered a long list of defects that should have been identified before handing over the project. One of the most concerning issues was damage to my neighbor's wall that appeared to have been overlooked or ignored. Although they eventually addressed the problems, it only happened after I repeatedly insisted and expressed my frustration. A thorough quality inspection should have been completed before asking the customer to do the final walkthrough. If your construction site is consistently disorganized, don't ignore it. If you're asked to pay extra for mistakes made by the contractor, question it carefully before agreeing. There are plenty of other contractors who value quality workmanship, accountability, and customer satisfaction. After posting my review, Ron claimed I was not an actual customer. That's simply not true. I have photos documenting the project and the issues I experienced. If they choose to dispute my review, I'm prepared to provide that evidence. Sometimes it's better to acknowledge criticism, learn from it, and improve rather than deny a customer's experience.
