They also were extremely trustworthy! When she returned to her house after it was done, they had found an heirloom necklace that she had previously lost and left it for her on her counter! They cleaned everything, including inside the cabinet drawers, every counter, the floors, anything left on the floors, the kitchen, bedrooms, etc. They ended up needing a few extra hours so stayed late rather than having to come back because they knew she was anxious to get back into her house! I have never in my life reached out to a business with a sane and respectful request for services that they clearly offer and had the business tell me that they perform the service I am requesting but will not perform it for me, and then refuse to tell me why. I find it distasteful, and, given my own level of worry over having a potentially unsafe situation that I need cleaned, the refusal to discuss the reason is of course causing me anxiety. Is it because there is something even unhealthier about the situation than i realized? Is it discrimination? Is she just too busy? I'll never know, and I find this owner's interaction with me to be bizarre. Proceed with caution. Note: The owner writes in a rude response below that she "dodged a bullet" by not doing this job, suggesting that I am clearly a difficult person. Yet I am not a difficult person - I am a kind, professional person with a job in the helping services profession. I simply felt - for reasons I explained to her in my clear, respectful message, that it was important for me to know why I was being rejected as a client. To provide more context, I stated in my request that I have a medical condition that made me extra concerned about the situation for which I was requesting assistance - I do not know whether the owner had a negative reaction to this, but if this is the reason why the owner declined (since the request was thorough, clear, respectfully stated, and for services that this business provides, I can find no other reason), it is indeed considered discrimination in the state of CA. Ray arrived right on time and got straight to work. He was very thorough and capable cleaning the evidence of rat infestation in our garage and basement. A great many boxes and books and other material had to be thrown out, or sprayed, or wiped w/ disinfectant. There was considerable physical labor involved, and he and I basically worked together as I pointed out what items should be discarded, and which were to be disinfected and retained. These guys were lovely. We had a puppy die from parvo and needed to decontaminate my entire property to make it safe for other dogs. The only thing that kills parvo is bleach (or steaming) and other places I got quotes from freaked out when I said it would need bleach and seemed to have no similar experience. Very bad experience with this company. They got our business by bidding a low flat rate. We paid the flat rate on day one before the job was fully completed which was our big mistake. Turns out they were not to be trusted. It took a 2nd day to complete the work ( or do we were told). So we agreed to pay an additional $450 plus the cost to dispose of a small freezer. However, once on the 2nd day on the job, in the middle of the job, the worker, Richard, threatened to walk off if we refused to agree to $100 per hour with no estimated time of completion and/or if we expressed dissatisfaction with the work. He walked off leaving 80-90% of our garage contents strewn across our front lawn. Then made fake offers to make good. Offered to send the husband, Co owner out to work a few hours at no charge then when we finally accepted, pulled that back and offered a $500 refund then failed to deliver that. Instead, when I called to ask if check was mailed, the other coowner, Emily, went crazy on the phone, screening at the top of her lungs saying "don't ever call me again! ...
