Ronny answered the phone and said he didn't have anyone available, but he had a sister company and was able to give me an appointment with them first thing tomorrow morning. Headline: Just wow. If I could give Ronny and his team 10 stars, I would. Seriously. The single best customer service experience I've ever had -- and I've had a lot of good ones, as you see from my Yelp reviews. Details: Ronny came referred from another great company, Los Angeles Mold Testing. He was extraordinarily responsive via text and phone at all hours. He set up his team to check out my ADU with the mold problem expediently, and they were thorough in their evaluation. His price was reasonable, and his team began after only a few days. He understood that a mold problem gets worse fast and tried to accommodate my sudden (sudden if you can't see inside the walls) situation. His team (led by Edgar, who's a gem) worked several hours for three days to remediate the mold. They cleaned it. They reinspected and did another quick cleaning a few days later for good measure. They were very clean with their work and very detailed, and they explained what they were doing. They even found another problem (leaky toilet) I didn't know about, so I was able to hire someone else to fix that. The whole time, Ronny kept me posted every step of the way via phone and text. He didn't ask for payment until the remediated unit passed a new mold/environmental test for air quality. Maybe most importantly, Ronny talked to me over several conversations about the ramifications of mold, about what it could do and couldn't do, about what they suspected the source was (he isn't a waterproofer so pinpointing the cause isn't their job -- any opinion they offered there was helpful but also beyond what they promised) and the reality of fixing the ADU after mold -- he was like my mold psychologist, talking me down and calming me. I have some OCD and mold injected a lot of anxiety into my life, and Ronny was the reassuring presence I needed. As I searched for waterproofers, he was kind enough to hear what quotes I was getting and let me know what sounded legit, like a rip off, etc. His team even helped me tarp my ADU because rain was coming and it would be weeks before any waterproofers could start on sealing up the cracks that likely let the water in (which led to dampness, which led to mold). Really above and beyond -- and the tarps worked to keep water out of the ADU. Ronny even aided me afterwards with my questions about getting a new HVAC and other questions that aren't even what I paid him for. He was just offering his experience to help out, even though the responsibility was on me and whomever I hired for these other things. Note that his team is a remediation team. They will likely have to take out walls etc. to treat and remove the mold. They had to remove furniture from the ADU so they had access to everything (they left what they could in the middle of the floor, but a lot of it had to go outside and be covered with a tarp). They do NOT fix your walls or move your furniture back in. That's part of why they're priced wonderfully. Ronny told me ahead of time that this would be the case, so I was prepared. I've learned a ton about mold thanks to him. I learned that, while it's bad, it's not a death sentence for my ADU at all. And I also learned just how phenomenal customer service can be. Other companies tried to sell me on several thousand dollars of mold remediation, but Ronnie explained why having surface mold and some wall moisture doesn't necessarily mean I have mold.
