Why won't anybody call me back!! Apparently, all of the cleaning people are rich and don't care about my business.

I had water damage in my Clairemont home. The employees were fast, efficient, and explained everything. I highly recommend.

Gold Coast Flood Restorations

Gold Coast exceeded my expectations from start to finish. I began noticing signs of a possible slab…read moreleak and contacted my insurance company, who sent out two different professionals to inspect the issue. Both told me it was not a slab leak, yet neither could explain why my tile floors were unusually hot or identify the source of the other concerning symptoms I was experiencing. That's when I was referred to Gold Coast. They quickly sent out Kurt, whose professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail were immediately apparent. After a thorough inspection, he confidently confirmed that I did in fact have a slab leak and was even able to pinpoint the exact location beneath the slab. His expertise gave me the confidence to move forward with Gold Coast for the water damage restoration. From the owner to every crew member on site, the entire team was professional, friendly, honest, and highly skilled. This was a major restoration project involving my entire downstairs, and throughout the process I felt completely confident that my home was in good hands. Kurt walked me through every step, answered all of my questions, and treated my home with the same care and respect as if it were his own. What stood out most was the company's integrity and honesty which are qualities that can be difficult to find these days. Since my experience, I've referred Gold Coast to several friends and neighbors, all of whom have had equally positive experiences. I truly believe Gold Coast is one of the best companies in San Diego for water damage restoration and mold remediation. I'd also like to add, you can probably find cheaper companies but I know for a fact you won't have the quality work that Gold Coast can offer, saving you more money in the long run. After multiple professionals failed to identify the problem, they were the ones who finally found the real issue and handled everything with excellence. Thank you, Gold Coast!

He was awesome to work with, super knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and took the time to walk me through everything so I knew exactly what was going on. Kurt is a straight-shooter, really cares about doing things the right way, and went above and beyond to help us out (in fact, he caught critical issues that 2 plumbers missed!). So if you're dealing with water damage and want a company you can trust, highly recommend Gold Coast Flood Restorations.

We live in a condo, and the neighbor behind our unit had a plumbing leak, which affected our unit…read more Both bathrooms had water damage. We met with three restoration companies and are happy we chose S&J Builders. Sean assured us of his experience working with insurance companies, which was an important factor. S&J's crew, who did the demolition and restoration, were professional, efficient, and completed the work in the designated timeline. Kristen was very good about returning my calls and keeping me updated on the project. The office staff were polite and professional to work with. We hope others consider using S&J Builders!

Sean showed up and was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and had us feeling optimistic about a resolution. It all went downhill from there, Sean was incredibly difficult to get ahold of for follow-ups and scheduling. I had to call the main number multiple times and often wait days to get a call back. However, we moved forward with a formal water test because of Sean's knowledge and direction on the process. The water test went as planned, they showed up and did a good job, helped us identify the intrusion, but we were promised a formal write-up and plan to fix. And that just never happened. I called multiple times, talking with Natasha, Kristen and Eric. Expressing the urgency of resolution (we had no AC or Washer Dryer until we fixed the intrusion and this was in the dead of summer). In fact, I never heard back from them until they followed up on payment (which was over the quote), and then of course they were very prompt to respond. I expressed my discontent with the service and my woes, and I was met with a matter of fact on this was the quote, please pay us. Oh, and some lame response about they sent the formal test results and repair plan previously (which they didn't). In fact, this was the same response I got over and over when trying to call Sean. "Oh, Sean emailed you or called you back." No he didn't.... So yea, knowledgeable technicians with horrible etiquette and terrible project management and customer service. How could I have 3 people managing our project and have it run this poorly. Please be warry of them, especially if you have an urgent issue. Definitely do not recommend.

I've been meaning to update this review for four years. I hope you will read this entire addendum…read more My experience with this company made a complete U-turn by the end making me wish i had called a friend/ contractor trust to get a personal referral. Or taken the route I detail at the end of this addendum. The cost for this company's work was enormous and inflated because they assume insurance will pay for the work. Actually all the companies that were involved had inflated costs because they assume insurance will pay. My insurance company would not cover the leak. When i contacted companies mentioned in this review being Ultra Dry with that information, without fuss they discounted their services to what i thought was a reasonable charge, but their portions of the job were small compared to Ultra Dry, which did a lot more work. Sean fougt my request to reduce the fee tooth and nail and was not friendly about it. I went over the detailed invoice and, luckily I paid some attention to the equipment they were using and the things they did. I could tell right away the invoice was not only inflated but a boilerplate invoice they probably use for all jobs and hope no one will notice. This is probably why insurance sm costs are so high. My insurance company was State Farm. To their discredit, not only did they resist opening a claim as mentioned in the original review, but they did not send an appraiser out for two weeks. As old as i am, I had never dealt with a homeowner claim and did not realize this was unusual, plus all the companies led me to believe insurance would cover it, so I did not push. ( We could have packed up our own bathroom and small office rather than incur that charge!) To the credit of the appraiser, who felt badly he had to deny the claim, he offered to review the Ultra Dry invoice and, from his inspection under the house and in the bathroom, told me what had, and had not, been done that they were billing me for. It matched up well with my own assessment, giving me more confidence to negotiate with Sean, the owner. It's been four years so I don't recall if he threatened small claims court, but I knew that was an option for me. In the end he cut the bill down enough for me to relent and pay it. I hope this will warn others off and cause anyone seeing my original, glowing review to realize it won't be a fair or good experience unless your insurance pays it all. During this process I discovered there are private insurance adjusters who have worked for insurance companies and know how the industry works. I would contact one of those First and have them come out. They know how companies asses claims and can help you report the event in language that may have a better chance of getting it covered. In future I would gladly pay for this out of my pocket because the bathroom cost over $22,000 not including the abatement work done before it which i never added up because of the trauma. I apologize for taking so long to add this addendum and to anyone who used this company only to be ripped off because of my initial review.
