Beware!! Our beautiful home had some water damage due to a sump pump failure, but servpro, hired by Chubb, is who demolished the house. They ripped out 30 year old Saltillo tile and mesquite door frames. All custom closets were unnecessarily ripped out. They made the house uninhabitable for 6 months. They did not consider quality or replacement costs for anything. No wonder insurance costs are outrageous. I would not let them near my house!!! read more

I had an upstairs bathroom leak on my property in our only full bathroom & was recommended Servpro of Phoenix. They came out & were communicative about rectifying the water damage. We were given dehumidifiers to dry the affected areas & they cut a hole in my kitchen ceiling to find the source of the damage. We asked how the issue is going to be diagnosed & were told to wait until they took up the bathroom tile & resolve the damage before calling a plumber to reset the toilet (suspected culprit). Days later, we're then asked what the diagnosis from a plumber was. We got a plumber that reset the toilet. We then went in a hotel for a week so this process would be expedited only for Servpro to just remove my bathroom sink and vanity on 5/30. On 5/31 during our hotel stay, we were informed the project manager Leo quit and the fill-in manager Jeff was assigned. Jeff assured me he would reach on Monday 6/3 with an estimate of services & a process forward. We have been pressing for an answer with only promises of a callback. This morning, we reached out to Jeff only to be met with someone else stating Jeff's absence & another promise to get a call back. EOD, hours later with no response, we called again only to be told by someone else that they don't like to disturb the on-call manager (at 7 pm) while they're with their family. I guess my family with a dysfunctional bathroom & kitchen is SOL and not urgent at all. The only communication we get from Servpro is when initiated by us. There has been NOTHING done since 5/30. The last time Servpro was at my house, they picked up their dehumidifiers on 6/3 and left. Yet I find a letter in my mailbox dated 6/6 threatening to place a LIEN on my property if I do not pay for services?????? Services I have been requesting for WEEKS for a project that has left my house in disarray for 3 weeks. Whichever representative answers the phone is very rude & disrespectful. When I got this letter, I called to speak to management & am asked if this is an emergency and if my house if flooded. She lacks decorum and has placed zero urgency on my house being disheveled. I'm being questioned on why I'm calling "past business hours" when I get no resolve during business hours whether 11 am, 7 pm or ever. I was hung up on and called crazy for demanding to speak to management. There's time to send a threat for a lien, but no time to do work they are actually hired for. Pitiful. I called to see what was going on, and spoke to Rosie, who sounded like she had no clue in general. She said she would have someone call me, which they didn't. I finally called again and got Noah, the worker who scheduled my appointment. Noah, basically said he got busy with another project. I said, "so busy you couldn't call me" and he said "yes". I had taken off work early and was waiting almost an hour. I will be reporting this to the owner, Tom, on Monday. Horrible customer service at the most basic level. Too many other choices out there to waste your time on this group! Consumers have to pay when we no show, but businesses take no responsibility. From the moment I first contacted them, I was treated with care and concern. We were on vacation and my house sitter noticed the standing water. My initial contact with them was not only via phone but I was in a different time zone. Jessica answered the phone and went into action immediately. This was the first time I ever needed to contact this type of service and she guided me through the process. She contacted her folks immediately and got them out there to begin working on the water standing in my house - and kept me informed along the way. They were at the house within about 1.5 hours of my making the initial call. We got the water shut off. Then all I had to do was coordinate to have someone meet them at the house and give them the key. They took it from there, including put a lockbox on the door so that my house sitter didn't need to come and go. I spoke with the Project Manager, David, when they first arrived. He did a great job of talking me through what he saw and his initial recommendations. When we arrived the next day, the water was all gone. They floor was dry. There wasn't a sign of flooding remaining in the home. They'd moved all furniture into the center of each room and covered it with plastic. Anything that was on the floor was dried off and stacked for us to go through. There people were SO polite and caring. We got into town as they were about done for the day, the waited for us to arrive home from the airport. The Project Manager took us through the house, explained what they'd done so far and made any additional recommendations. The time that he spent walking us through and listening and answering questions was invaluable. We discussed where we needed to go from there. The last day, we had a crew that did nothing but clean. They vacuumed the entire house. Wiped down cabinets and shelves. They even mopped. We only have bathroom floors remaining, but they still mopped up the concrete, too. I'm not sure I knew what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by this. It made waking up a bit more comfortable this morning. In all, we had them at the house on the emergency evening for about 3 hours, then I think 6 full time days (we had some VERY difficult wood flooring to remove and the last day was the clean up day). I've sent off fabric furniture to them for cleaning (couches). I assume that will turn out wonderfully, too. Jessica said she's mailing us a CD of all of the photos they took while they were here (probably most of them pre-work and with water). One more thing I'd like to mention is that our insurance company denied our claim. When they realized that, they were very sympathetic. Instead of waiting for a bill, I asked them to hit me up with an estimate so that I could manage the money situation with my bank. The last day they were here (for clean up) is the day that the I requested the bank transfer. I'm glad they let me work that way, because we'd just put the flooring deposit on our credit card and I wasn't ready for them to charge the card the full amount due. Another sign that they 'get it' and are a great to work with. UPDATE: May 8 - the drywall guy came by to check out the work that needs to be done. This is one of the worst experiences I have had in recent time, their Operation Manager Anthony (Tony) Baird, is by far the biggest piece of sh** I have had the pleasure of dealing with. He came inspected the house in a timely, matter identified mold in the house and said it was deeply rooted and suggested that a third party come out for additional testing to see if the walls needed to be knocked down. He stated he would communicate this with the landlord, he didn't nor did email his findings as he said he would to me or the landlord. He viewed the house on the 20th and didn't send any follow up communication until June 11th. In his email he states there was no moisture and no mold, a direct contradiction to what he told us in person. Please save your money and avoid him and his company he works for. I requested multiple times to speak to a supervisor and was promised calls back, never happened. read more

From a customer service viewpoint, the company does what it needs to. They did answer my call after a flood on my first floor. I was appreciative of that as it had been after 5PM when I needed help. They arrived with their crew and dried my floors within 2 hours of the occurrence. Again, I'm appreciative that they arrived promptly. They placed fans throughout in order to dry out the drywall. 24-48 hours later, fans remained regardless of the 93% humidity readings from the walls. While not my area of expertise, clearly the reading being not too far from 100% moisture contained within the walls, their assessment was to continue with the 8-9 snail fans and humidity extractor machine until Monday. The flood occurred on Thursday. Once they left I decided that while their way of doing business was to merely utilize fans for five days to "dry out as much as possible" that I needed something more aggressive as the walls were still 93% humidity two days after the flood. Their personnel had been polite and courteous both times they were at my home and it was reciprocated when the younger gentlemen arrived to "inspect things" and cut his hand in the process and was bleeding all over the kitchen floor. He was offered a large bandage as it had been a big gash. Once he left, I called another company who stated they would remove all drywall immediately to begin the drying process of the frame based on the elevated humidity reading. Servpro of Phoenix was contacted and advised that while their business practices were respected and personnel polite, I needed an alternative way of drying out my place as I would be the one dealing with any potential mold that may begin to grow due to the longer drying time. I asked them what time that day they'd be picking up their equipment. It had been the same woman who initially dispatched the water restoration crew and attempted to have me stay with their company. I advised that I would not be doing that and personnel was there within the hour to pick up their equipment from my home. Two letters arrived to my home postmarked 19 days after my initial flood titled: TWENTY DAY PRELIMINARY NOTICE. Why a pre-lien notice when the company NEVER reached out to ANYONE for payment? Not ONCE did Servpro of Phoenix reach out to me via phone or mail regarding payment NOR did they contact my home insurance adjustor even after they were provided they day of incident with my claim number AND adjustor's name and number. While I'm aware that as a business owner you may resort to certain measures in order to protect your business, a business owner who has been provided with: *A claim number *Home insurance adjuster's contact information *Home owner's contact information NOT ONCE attempted to contact the home owner, adjustor OR insurance company regarding payment is a company that should not be in business because they are disgruntled that a customer asked them to retrieve their equipment rather than complete services they disagreed with. I'm sorry I ever reached out to your company, Servpro of Phoenix. Should I ever be in the unfortunate situation of a home flood again, if no other company answers my phone call after hours, I will dry the place on my hands and knees myself until the following morning before I even consider contacting your company. read more

Chris and Servpro rescued our water damaged condo shortly after Drystar (a company One Stop Plumbing referred us to) neglected to get rid of the mold caused by our water heater's rusted reserve tank. When Chris assessed the damages, mold was growing on our condo walls. Drystar had broken our mirror, a door, blinds, and even worse, didn't remove the mold! So Chris had an uphill battle. Amazingly, Chris and his exceptional team got rid of all of the mold, dry walled, painted, carpeted, even replaced blinds and a door. And throughout the process, he updated me on a daily basis. The unit is now finished, and the workmanship is superb. I would recommend Chris and Phoenix Servpro to anyone who has water damage. They are THE BEST! read more

Good: Prompt response and the area was dried. Bad: While the technicians were quick to point out that we would be liable for all costs regardless of whether the insurance company would pay or not, they were unable to provide any sort of estimate of cost. They did say that they could leave and an estimator could come in a day or so--while there's still water in my house! Once the insurance company hesitated on approving the claim, Servpro was quick to get their equipment out. But, the bill came quickly. At the same time of receiving the bill, I also received notice of a claim (preliminary lien) on our property. I could understand if the bill hadn't been paid for 60 or even 45 days, but no, it was done at the same time as the bill. This was unnecessary and added stress to an already stressful situation. I won't say I'll never use Servpro again. I hope I don't. But, they will not be the first company I'll call--I'll try anyone else first! I was very disappointed. read more

I had complained on Yelp about Servpro leaving my sister high and dry as far as completing the job, but after a couple of phone calls, Servpro stood behind their word and put everything back in its place. I also thought they went overboard on the repairs and the wet vacs, but after talking to the insurance adjuster, I was told Servpro will go above and beyond to replace items that could be remotely damaged.
