If you enjoy false promises and construction delays, Salt River Restoration is for you! If unnecessary demolition of your home, unreturned messages, and unprofessional conduct is your thing, call SRR!
My story: I had a rusted toilet flange and possible leak in my master bathroom. SRR sent out - I'll call him Trickster - to my home and after tech readings, on-the-spot diagnosis, and nodding heads from his cronies, Trickster declared my leak coming from the wall and recommended removing the vanity, the tile, part of the drywall, and a 2' x 2' section of the foundation, all to fix the bad flange and to the tune of around $8000. Trickster rec'd I immediately file an insurance claim, which we did together that day. The next day, Trickster's crew of merry minions were out and they tore out the vanity, tile, and wainscotting (which wasn't anywhere near the project) and taped up the place so it looked like a Covid infection site and left. Trickster then sent over a company to test for asbestos, which, of course, they found and rec'd immediate removal.
Over the next 3 weeks, Trickster strangely avoided me and my insurance rep. I eventually discovered that the water leak came from the shower, not the wall (remember, my bathroom was torn apart because Trickster assured me the leak came from the wall, not the shower). The shower was under warranty from another company and the leak was fixed. Once Trickster realized the ins. claim was void, he became the Invisible Man. For another 3 weeks, more unreturned calls and promises of action ensued. I finally got hold of him - out of patience and tired of lies - and I cancelled whatever project agreement we had. Trickster said he was doing me a favor for not charging me! Remember, they TORE APART MY BATHROOM! I was charged $440 from the asbestos company (who never removed the asbestos) and two merry minions came over the next day and removed the plastic dust coverings by ripping them off the wall and damaging the paint. Then I saw they had put the heavy plastic up with industrial staples which they left embedded in the door frame of the bedroom, not the bathroom!
I found a reliable local handyman to reset the vanity, install new tile, repair the wall, replace the wainscotting, and cleaned the flange. BTW, the handyman said the flange just needed to be cleaned. There was no wall leak and no need to tear into the foundation or anything else (shout out to Frank at 'A Very Handy Man to Know'). In other words, SRR destroyed my bathroom for NO REASON AT ALL EXCEPT TO TAP INTO AN INS. CLAIM that never happened. Unprofessional. Uncaring. And unbelievable.
Understand: This was my personal experience and perspective of Salt River Restoration and others will have a different impression of this company. This is my advice: always get 2-3 opinions on whatever project you do - and make sure SRR is not one of them. Avoid this company. They added to my problems and were not the solution I needed, costing me precious time and money and when they were done, the issue still remained. Perhaps Trickster, the Song-and-Dance-Man, isn't representative of the entire company, but there are other fish in the sea. Run, don't walk, from SRR. read more
