I wanted to take a moment to share my personal experience with Eco-Dry Restoration here in Gilbert, AZ. We had received Eco-Dry's name through a referral per a sudden water leak we had occurring under our kitchen sink. I received a proactive call from Nico letting me know he was informed about our situation and when we could schedule a visit to get everything evaluated. Being that this a first-time experience for me with having an outside contractor come into our home, review, bid and handle the said work - I didn't hesitate to bring on my straight up talk from the beginning about my mode of operation when working with outside companies, requirement of transparent / trust working relationship, need for patience in answering my questions and wanting full professionalism all around. Like many who have "heard horror stories" of contractors coming into their homes and leaving a bigger mess than what was found, I made it very clear of my expectations - even more since I did not seek them out but they were referred to me. I share this for anyone who may find their styles similar to mine and because I have seen the "reviews" here from those individuals who have not had a successful experience. As I digress for a moment from the review, I feel each person is fully responsible in asking all the questions, dotting "I"s and crossing "T"s, calling their own insurance company as well to secure any follow-up questions, hold themselves and the contractors accountable, and most important keep the lines of communication open and transparent. These types of partnerships are not a one-way street - there is mutual accountability for all parties involved. Once Nico and I aligned the evaluation appointment for the next day, he sent out Roland and Cory to look over the sudden water damage area and let us know their insights. I kept an open-mind, pen and paper in hand asking my questions and got a full understanding of what the process was to be - including insurance matters, demolition and reconstruction. Roland was very patient with me from the beginning and never got irritated when I would call him to verify some of our conversation points. Roland had also scheduled his crew to arrive the next morning where Travis, Tim and James came to our home and spent the entire day (very professionally) doing the demolition. We treated them to lunch as our way of showing gratitude and appreciation for the hard work they were doing to help restore our issue. In the meantime of these past few days, I had also been in touch with our home insurance company (creating a trusting bond with our rep) and felt confident that everything was on-par as it was shared with us from the beginning. The following day, Chase came out to review what Travis and his team had done and we even ordered the "mold assessment" as part of the process to make sure everything was 100% and it was! Chase was down to earth, supportive and great in helping us complete the necessary steps in the process. Eco-Dry came to know my name very well over the handful of days we worked with them. They didn't hesitate to make themselves accessible (Roland, Nico, Chase) primarily in the event we had any questions throughout the process. In closing, I stayed in close connection with their billing department (Samantha from OCS) who was proactive in letting me know where the claim was at all times and when it was closed. I recognize this is a long review and I waited until now (even with our services being completed back in October) to write this - because I wanted to have a full picture of this issue resolved - including the last step of reconstruction through RMJ Construction, who did a fantastic job in getting our kitchen back to its original way. 5 STARS DOESN'T EVEN FEEL LIKE ENOUGH! I cannot say enough good things about EcoDry. What started as an absolute nightmare turned into an experience where I genuinely felt taken care of from beginning to end. Two days ago, I discovered a sudden leak affecting my kitchen and bathroom. My plumber found extremely high moisture levels and immediately referred me to EcoDry. Within the same day, Lucas came out to perform additional moisture readings and imaging, quickly identified the leak as a Category 3, and got the mitigation process moving immediately. The very next morning, James, Mike, Marquan, Diego and Jesse arrived 15 minutes early to the 8am scheduled time and got straight to work. They were incredibly respectful of my home and belongings, carefully protecting my floors with tarps before removing my cabinets, countertops and appliances. Everything was handled with an incredible amount of care. Cabinet panels and hardware were organized in orderly fashion or bags so nothing would get lost, and everything was safely stored in my garage. As a first time homeowner who has only lived in my house for three months, I was terrified. Everyone took the time to explain what they were doing, answer every question I had, and even let me watch and document the process for insurance. They made an extremely stressful situation feel manageable. Because of the age and construction of my home, asbestos testing was required. Casey came out immediately to collect samples and get them to the lab. While we waited for the results, James and the team began setting up containment in both the kitchen and bathroom. Their attention to detail was incredible. The precision of their taping and containment was so impressive that when I FaceTimed my dad, a general contractor of 45 years, he was genuinely blown away. They even maintained access to my refrigerator, pantry and closet while making sure the rest of my home was protected from dust, debris and potential contamination. Once the asbestos results came back negative, James, Mike and Marquan were back at 8am the next morning to continue mitigation. They carefully removed the affected drywall and ultimately identified the source as a damaged sewer drain line. Everything was handled professionally, safely and thoroughly, including the mold treatment, cleanup and moisture control. Morgan also came out to further assess the situation and was equally professional and pleasant to work with. In just two days, the damaged materials were removed, the affected areas were contained, the mold was treated, and everything was cleaned up. WOW. I genuinely could not have asked for a better experience during what could have been an incredibly overwhelming situation. From the communication and professionalism to the care they showed for my home, I never once felt like corners were being cut or that I had anything to worry about. We had a flood in May 2019 and ecodry were hired and paid by our insurance company to remove and destroy water damaged kitchen cabinet boxes from our home. Ecodry sent our insurance company a signed work sheet in which their worker states he removed the water damaged cabinets and destroyed them. I also have a copy of this paper work. Ecodry's sister company came in for the reconstruction work at our home and did a very bad job which resulted in an ROC registrar of contractors complaint. During the ROC complaint it was discovered that the cabinet boxes have been reused, they have water staining and the bottoms have been cut off by half an inch to remove some water damged wood. I left a review on the bbb and Ecodry responded that if this was the case it would be grounds for termination of that employee. I would like to know what one rogue employee would stand to gain from this? They would not be cashing the insurance check? Someone high up at ecodry sister company would be so this clearly means the ecodry employee was working with someone at the sister company. I have taken video evidence of the kitchen being removed and have kept a cabinet that clearly shows the cut off bottom and water staining as I feel that this will be necessary evidence in future as this is being investigated. Due to this dishonest activity we were unable to use our home for 6 months, having no working kitchen had incurred us thousand in meal costs and we have had to have the water damaged cabinets removed at a cost to us of $1800. Ecodry contacted us with an offer to reimburse us the $1800 we had to pay to have our kitchen re demolished. This offer however came with multiple strings attached that included a 5 page legal document they want me to sign including a full non disclosure agreement and required us to release them and their owners, employees, lawyer and a laundry list of others from any liability. As their reconstruction company has done thousands of dollars of damage to our home and has the same owners, a release of this kind is out of the question. More concerning to me is the full non disclosure agreement that would ban me, my family, friends and lawyer from talking about ecodry and also requires me to remove all reviews about ecodry. I do not need the $1800 and eco dry certainly won't be able to cover up their shady practices by buying me off. My review is truthful, I have evidence and this is helpful information for future and current consumers. An ROC inspector also stated in his opinion that the cabinets appeared to be water damaged. The problems that arose from this along with poor workmanship from the reconstruction side led to a lengthy battle and roc complaint. We incurred a cost of $1800 to have the kitchen removed again plus thousands of dollars in expenses for being out of our home for this extended time. On Friday morning I noticed my upstairs bathroom was leaking into my kitchen pantry. I submitted a claim through my home warranty to have a plumber come out. Monday morning a plumber came to look at the leak. He was unable to identify the leak at the time. There was obvious water damage in the ceiling so he contacted EcoDry for me after he left. Not even an hour later Alex came out from EcoDry to do a free estimate. He spent over an hour with me answering all of my questions and helped me submit a claim with my insurance company. He also did an asbestos test and informed me of all the steps. He was very kind and helpful. The next morning I was blessed with the most amazing guys from EcoDry to break the bad news that I did in fact have asbestos. I was extremely overwhelmed and yeah..Definitely freaking out. Gilbert, Joel and Dominic helped me every step of the way to get through this. I only have one bathroom and I am very picky about my home. They put up with me and my questions for the whole day. They got the downstairs pantry and upstairs bathroom cleaned up and asbestos free in one day. They were kind, careful and kept checking in with me throughout the day to make sure I was OK. They worked tirelessly to get everything done and were respectful to my home and made me feel so much better about the situation. I can't thank them enough for getting me through such a hard day. The next day first thing in the morning another company came to check the air quality and sent it straight to the lab for me. Richard came in the afternoon to remove the asbestos tents so I could have my bathroom again. He also worked very hard to get all of the equipment packed up and was very kind and helpful. The contractor Alex got for me is scheduled to come tomorrow and the plumber wI'll be back on Friday. I literally didn't have to do a thing in regards to finding or contacting all of these people to put my home back together. I know a lot of people have written about the insurance aspect of these situations. I haven't heard anything yet from insurance about pricing for all of this work so I can't say anything about that. I recently had a water heater fail in my garage that resulted in water leaking into my home and damaging the surrounding drywall and carpet padding. I contacted my home warranty company to get the unit replaced. The plumber arrived, assessed the situation, and recommended EcoDry Restoration to perform the demolition and dry-out work. This incident was the first time I've experienced significant damage to my home. I was anxious about the entire process. They exercised all proper COVID-19 safety and hygiene guidelines as mandated by the CDC and the state of Arizona. I felt comfortable having them in my home. The crew was impeccably neat and tidy. They handled my belongings with great care and respect. Additionally, all my interactions with them were pleasant and kind. I felt like a valued client at all times. The crew exceeded my expectations in every aspect of the job. Roland, the supervisor, and Carl came by each day to check on the progress of the dry-out. The entire job took only 2.5 days. When the job was complete, I received a phone call from Zack in customer service to make sure I was satisfied with the work and the customer service. I am highly impressed with EcoDry Restorations. My customer experience from start to finish was fantastic. I do not take the decision to endorse a company lightly. Note: Both Eco Dry and RMJ Construction are owned by Seth Johnson On December 15th Eco Dry, called me saying the water damage at my property was really bad, and that I needed to start a claim with my insurance and he would take it over from there. He assured me he had worked with HIPPO before and that it would be covered. I provided him with the claim number and adjusters information that night (12/15/23). Eco Dry started the job on December 16th, they took out all the drywall, destroyed my kitchen cabinets and broke my granite countertops. Cut multiple pieces of drywall out in my kitchen, bathroom, and linen closet. 12/29/23 RMJ Construction came out to give us a quote but couldn't start working on the house until insurance approved it. Little to my knowledge, Eco Dry never sent insurance any proper documentation and they did all the work prior to the insurance adjuster coming out to the house. 1/10/24 , Eco Dry finally sent over information to my insurance. The same day(1/10), my insurance said Eco Dry did not provide supporting photos of the visible damage to the kitchen cabinets, and they removed everything prior to the adjuster being able to see the damage. There are no photos of damage inside the cabinets. I personally do not live in the house, I live out of state. So I never saw proof, or understood the extent of the job. It wasn't flooding, no water was getting on the floor, and there was no mold. So there is no reason Eco Dry should have started the job without insurance's approval. We are incurring financial hardship due to the unreliable and unprofessional way this company has handled things. As of now, there is no end to this and we do not have the finances to rebuild our kitchen. It seems to me, they were trying to scam insurance by doing everything prior. and get more money out of HIPPO. I don't leave reviews. A company should do a job right the first time and service is expected to be top notch. Eco dry for the second time has exceeded my expectations. Travis H., Jaeden C. And Aiden G showed up this morning on time. I however was not ready to go and even with my set backs these guys were professional, great attitudes, kind to my kids, knowledgeable and my dog who can be big and scary for such a lovable thing. I can't say I ever remember having a good day when I've had water damage and a large chunk of 4 walls cut out inside my home, but I had a good day knowing the guys came to do a job but also liked what they do or maybe just plainly having a positive outlook in general. Being around someone who you know either hates their job or is just negative can suck the energy out of you and make you just as miserable as the damage to your home. These guys made a shit situation good. I've experienced water damage (going back to being a kid in my parents home) through out my life and all the previous companies before never left such a positive impression in part or as a whole. I don't know what ecodry is doing but the three guys that showed up today are top tier. I'm a customer service snob! I sold my business years ago and have seen every possible type of employee. It really is nice to see solid work ethic, communication skills with customers, being understanding with customers who aren't prepared, patience and kindness when kids want to watch and join in on the fun and ask question after question after question and more. I don't wish water damage on anyone but if I ever find myself dealing with it again I won't be bothered by it because the process and the employees at ecodry make it painless and they do a great job even with unprepared and stressed customers. read more

I woke up on a Monday morning to water in almost every room of my house. I called a plumber out and started to try to get up the water by myself. When my plumber arrived, we found out that it was a sewer back up. Due to this my plumber recommended that I have a remediation company out to check for damage and suggested Eco Dry Restoration. I called and Nico arrived in about an hour. After walking around, he informed me that there was defiantly water in my walls and possibly more problems due to the sewer water. He helped me to call my insurance company and determine if I had coverage and start a claim. He walked me though what would happen and what I should expect. He helped arrange everything. Within a few hours the pack out company arrived to pack my items and move them away from the affected areas. Early the next morning Brandon D., Jacob H., and Soren H. arrived to begin the process of getting out all my water damage and were there for the next 3 days. They were kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain what was happening and answer my many questions as they worked. More damage was found then was initially expected and they would call or text me with updates or talk to me if I was at the house. They were very respectful of myself, my pets and my house and I felt comfortable leaving them at the house working when I could not be there. The 3 men on the crew that worked on my house made a bad situation just a little bit better with their kind words, patience and hard work. Since the main crew left, I have talked to a supervisor every day and got an update from them as to where we are in the process of drying my house out. I can't believe the insurance companies have not caught up to the INSURANCE FRAUD this company is doing. I should of taken the time to read the reviews and research the company, but do to my unfortunate water damage circumstance I did not have time to think and just agreed for them to help me with the demo. They quoted 7K for the demo & reconstruction, but ended up billing my insurance company 9k for just tearing out 4 sheets of drywall. Insurance company just paid the claim to avoid any conflict, but tearing out 4 sheets of drywall should of been no more than 3k (compared to other companies), but billed insurance 9k. I also think that it is weird that they send their invoice from a law firm. I have never seen a contractor send invoice via a law firm. The way this works is plumber refers this company (plumber probably makes a cut out of it) when they see the home owner in need. Then they use their sales and scare tactics and basically force you to make a claim with insurance company on the spot. Then they leave unnecessary equipment for days (to rack up the days they can bill). Use excuses says that they don't have enough personnel to pick up equipment, but still bill insurance company. PLEASE DON'T SIGN ANY PAPERWORK. Once you sign you are screwed as they make you sign so much paperwork to free them from everything. At the end of the day they end up charging you for every single thing. They told me it was a free estimate, but they charge it anyways. They charge for plastic bags, answering your phone call. Coming to pick up equipment "after hours." Unnecessary asbestos containment even if your building is newer. Its crazy!!!! Beware!!! We are in the process of selling our home and in the course of packing up things, discovered some bubbled drywall in the laundry room wall behind the washer. We had a professional drywall repairer come out and fix the bubbling but several days later, it was bubbled again. It was apparent there was something causing the bubbling so we called EcoDry Restoration in the morning and an hour later their representative came to inspect. His moisture meter determined there was something wet behind the laundry room wall which is also the wall for the hall closet on the other side which also showed bubbling drywall. He scheduled a crew to come out the next day but then called back an hour later to let us know, a crew was finishing up close by and could come over by 2 PM. They were on time. They set up a barrier to prevent any mold contamination that might be there and then removed a section of drywall and discovered that a leaking drain pipe (10 years old) was causing the problem. Each time a load of laundry was put in, when it drained, water leaked from the pipe. Fortunately, there was no mold. They set up blowers and fans to dry out the area and were there for 4 hours. They left the area cleaner than when they came! We had our plumber come the next day and cut out the bad drain pipe and replace it. EcoDry continued to check the moisture level in the affected area until it reached a normal level which took 7 days and then promptly removed the equipment. Everyday, a supervisor would call to let us know when he would be there to check the moisture level. We were extremely pleased with the courteous and professional manner we received and highly recommend EcoDry Restoration. read more

After a plumber repaired my garbage disposal and noticed the water damage that the leak had caused under my sink, he contacted EcoDry to evaluate the situation. Ty from EcoDry called me within 15 minutes, and was at my house in less than 45 minutes from the time that the plumber contacted him. Ty got on the phone with my insurance company, and my claim was filed in less than 30 minutes. An hour later, Cody Pennington and his crew (Kevin L. and James S.) were at my house. They got to work immediately. They took great care in removing the counter top and cabinets that had to be taken out to address the water seepage behind the cabinets. They erected a clean room to protect me and my dogs from any potential bacteria. Because it was now late in the day, they promised to return the next morning at 9:00 AM to complete the job. I'd also like to mention that they were continually cleaning throughout the demolition process. At 9:00 AM on the dot, Cody and his crew were back. Exercising great caution and incredible cleaning prowess again, they finished the demolition, removed the clean room and installed a temporary sink within a couple of hours. While they were met with a few "technical" challenges during the demolition (especially all of the water lines coming out of the wall), they were persistent and never gave up working to resolve those issues and making sure that I would have water available overnight. I can't say enough about the professionalism, friendliness and detail orientation of Cody and his team. I am so impressed with Eco dry restoration. They sent out three guys that completely saved the day. My tub drain broke and flooded the bathroom that backed to up to it as well. Lots of damage. They worked hard tearing out the toilet, tub (cast-iron), vanity and walls. It was dried, checked for air quality and cleaned immaculately when they left. I have requested them to come back to finish the other bathroom and the kitchen which also got water damage, after the holidays. Good-natured friendly and hard-working guys. I highly recommend them. We had a leak in our bathroom and I didn't think much of the area of the wall that was wet. Once I spoke to the plumber, they suggested we have EcoDry out to check out the area first. Boy, I am glad we did! Hunter was out that evening and we sure had more water damage than what could be seen. He explained the process and had a crew out to do start the reclamation process. Our adjuster was out on a Sunday and Hunter asked if could bring the crew in earlier for the adjuster but he didn't want the tea rout to happen just yet. They were very accommodating to what the adjuster needed as well as us. The crew came out on Monday - Ryan K., Justin L., and Brad B. Great group of guys! The job was a bit bigger than anticipated as they found more water up behind the tile. They took care of us and got us set up with 2 fans and a dehumidifier once the walls and tub were removed. The plumber was then out that afternoon to fix the plumbing issue. Every day we then had a supervisor come by and check the progress of the dry out. Thanks to Jacob, Roland, and Matthew for checking the area daily and after five days, the dryers are gone. Yeah! They suggested RMJ Construction to do the rebuild and Manny was out last week to figure out the next steps. So far the experience has not been so bad with the great people we worked with at EcoDry. One word that defines restoration; EcoDry. Being a Mother whose Husband is always away on business it's never easy when something unexpected happens. We invested in the best water heater and we've received perfect results throughout the years. Well we all know that nothing good lasts forever. Just the other day my Son had gone into the storage room to grab his shoes for practice when he noticed there was a large puddle surrounding our water heater. Being the Homemaker that I am which obviously states my position of only knowing how to handle anything within the four corners of my living room and kitchen; I had no idea what to do. Then a friendly neighbor of mine mentioned EcoDry Restoration and not a minute long I was on the phone with them. Water heaters can be replaced but the floor was just too devastating to look at it. Had a VERY small upstairs drain leak at a bath tub - detected within the same day. The plumber my Home Warranty sent out said they use EcoDry to clean everything up. EcoDry arrived and started talking about removing the tub, subfloor and all the time and money involved with the repair - they then said it wasn't covered by my home warranty and that I needed to file a Homeowners Insurance claim to cover the expenses. Even told me that my warranty company won't cover the cost to remove and replace the damaged drywall in order for the plumber to make the covered repair - if EcoDry doesn't cut it open and do all the repair work, the plumber can't fix the covered repair. EcoDry tried to scare me into thinking that my families safety was in jeopardy if I didn't get this done - even offered to pay my Homeowners Insurance deductible. I've worked for a Homebuilder for over 20 years - I know when someone is throwing around this mold BS scare tactic. I called my Home Warranty Company to find that I AM covered to have the drywall removed and replaced in order for the repair to be completed. Drywall was removed to expose a little wet spot the size of coffee can lid - no mold - water didn't even come in contact with any wood. Plumbers repaired the drain and my Warranty Company has me scheduled to have the drywall replaced. Before even looking at the damage - EcoDry was trying to get me to file a Homeowners claim.
