The mole here is awesome! This tiny place run by local women is an absolute delight. The flavors and presentation are on par with any other restaurant in NY that makes you temporarily forget that you're in a tiny bistro-style place in Inwood Heights. All the food items are fresh and made to order. Above all, I would definitely recommend the mole as it's just something you don't get to have all the time of this caliber.

Just when we had utterly given up on finding good vegan Mexican food in NYC, we discovered this gem tucked away in Inwood. We were blown away by the high quality, extensive vegan options. Nearly anything on the menu can be made vegan, with multiple types of plant-based proteins ranging from tofu to jackfruit to seitan to soyrizo to veggie. I really appreciate that they have vegan black beans, pinto beans, and refried beans. The prices are high, but the flavors are authentic and the portions are satisfying. We loved the burritos, black bean tamales, and enchilada platters. The even have vegan cheese and crema, and the homemade salsas are incredible. I wish they would open a location farther downtown!

This is a small not-so-obvious place, but it's a great find. I like their taco salad bowl and breakfast options. The tacos are delicious and theres some outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The service is always friendly.

Nachos pollo asada

I've been in the neighborhood for 9 months and was way overdue to try this place. I ordered nachos pollo asada because it was their Thursday special (small nachos with protein for $10) and honestly I don't even really *like* nachos but I thought these were delicious. Kinda wish there was more pico de gallo but that's it. I love the outdoor dining area they have, and looking forward to coming back more over summer.

I couldn't wait for this place to open !! It was Election Day when walked by and realized they were finally up and running. The reasurant is a bit small so it isnt too much of a dine in restaurant though they do have some tables outside that would be great when it's warmer out. The staff is extremely attentive, they were friendly and made sure my order was perfect. The foos is absolutely amazing, from the tacos to the sides to the nachos. I have yet to taste the breakfast options which is next on my list but I know they won't disappoint me. Make sure to try the fish tacos and the steak tostadas !

Very homey decor while the wonderful female staff rock out in the back!

Wish I had taken pictures of the food but it was so delicious I totally forgot! Place is adorable, outdoor seating, vegan options, friendly staff and delicious food! Ordered: 1 Steak Burrito 2 Tacos al Pastor 1 quesadilla al Pastor 1 Homemade Flan 1 Agua de Horchata 1 Jarrito de Mandarina Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked. The "al pastor" meat was so beautiful cooked and perfectly balanced between the spices and pineapple. The homemade tortillas for the tacos are delicious. Food was greatly satisfying, great portions. Loved their Brunch menu so will hopefully visit them soon to try that out! Want some authentic Mexican flavours... Try them out!

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

Was plenty of food and imho better than the last time I ate there with friends! Maybe it's a different chef but today's food was really good and impressed me considering the travel time. Although I had a reservation, I was instructed to go to the bar. Literally no home at the bar whatsoever. Granted I know Mexican restaurants tend to be super crowded for Cinco de Mayo but I was a party of one. I should have been seated outside at the very least. I had to drink my frozen Patron Margarita standing up until a space at the bar open up after 20-25 minutes. Once seated, my area wasn't properly cleaned. I felt awkward and uncomfortable. I reluctantly ordered fish tacos with mild guacamole but was given spicy guacamole. The fish tacos were a little cold. The service was rushed. I left without ordering another drink or more food. I was over it. This place isn't far from my employer so maybe I'll give it another chance on a random weekday.

The menu has a long list of items and they are all reasonably priced. Our Server, Maria K., did a wonderful job throughout the meal and we were never rushed to leave our table. We started with a glass of Modelo draft beer and a Golden Margarita. The beer was served in a large glass and the Margarita was strong and well presented. Tacos are a great selection for Happy Hour and all of them (fish, chicken, carnitas) were well seasoned, the optimal amount of spiciness, and wrapped in soft shells. The Street Corn was DELICIOUS. The creamy sauce made each bite a delight and the Tahin just added to the enjoyment. When I went to the restroom, I noticed that the restaurant was very full and the low hum of the customers made the ambiance uplifting. Sinigual will definitely be added to my Happy Hour list and I highly recommend it for "happiness."

When she arrived, the hostess told her they had overbooked the evening and our reservation was "bumped" to the following day. Utter nonsense and ridiculous! I have never heard of ANY restaurant (and I frequent many restaurants) bumping someone "to the next evening" without an "ok" from the customer. It's unfortunate that Sinigual completely messed this one up - our office is close in proximity to the restaurant and we were all regular customers there for lunch and dinner.
