Theres a bunch of these around miami but my favorite one is this one. Great breakfast and authentic cuban food. Cheap too!

I want to start by saying I LOVE Cuban sandwiches. In particular I love Miami style Cuban sandwiches so when I came to Miami for the first time I asked and googled to find out the best place to get one. Many people and sites mentioned sergios but they were located a little further from where I stayed (south beach) Finally I made it to this particular sergios but the wait to sit was 30-60 minutes so I decided to go the take out way (probably my 2nd biggest mistake to not asking locals) The person tending the take out window was clearly inexperienced but that did not deter me. When I finally received my sandwich, the bread was toasted as if it was pressed but everything in the actual sandwich was cold. I felt like I purchased a gas station! I was so disappointed I had to write a review. If you're coming to Miami and want a decent Cuban, don't go here (at least not this location) read more

order online and went to pick, they have no order, called grub hub and they tell me that the restaurant has my order and the manager is named______, go back to Sergios and the manager says yes and bring me the cold food sitting somewhere for the past 90 minutes and missing part of the order.... staff is useless, stay away from this place. read more

The food is good, however... Staff can be rude. There's often overcrowding(forget about social distancing of any kind). Long waits and long lines for pickup. Consider alternate Sergio's location for service. read more

1st time here and it was delicious! I got the Vaca Frita with congri and salad which came recommended by our server. We don't have places like these in the San Francisco Bay Area so I was in heaven. Pretty cheap for what you get. The hubby and I were able to share one plate and got some empanadas as appetizers and walk out completely stuffed. The wait can be a while but service was very nice. The selection is extensive and it was hard to choose if we wanted an entree or a sandwich. The entree prevailed. read more

I was in Miami for a couple days on business, and this came well recommended by people at the hotel I was staying in, I asked specifically for Cuban food. I had their "Trio" appetizer with pico de gallo on individual servings of chicken, beef, & pork. that was quite delicious, BUT the Cubano sandwich I had was absolutely mouthwatering and I was completely satisfied for less than $15!!! The decor is gorgeous, and I would think authentically Cuban (but I'm not an expert), and it just appeared to fit together quite perfectly! This place is ok, but the food is somewhat hit or miss. I have been here 3 times since I live a mile away, the first time I liked it but the next 2 visits were not as good. Not sure if I will ever be back. Its not expensive and its in a very nice location. However your server pays no attention to you. BTW... I hated the cheese on the bread... Breakfast = Eggs scrambled with serrano ham = good but nothing to write home about. I was disappointed by the Cuban bread. It was bordering on stale for me. Empanadas = to die for. I may just be 'fresh off the boat' (I still feel like an outsider, even though I moved from Hawaii to Miami 7 months ago), but places like Sergios never cease to ignite that 'exotic thrill factor' for me. My fiance and I shared the Belicho (its like a stewed meat, really tasty), some tostones, and the fried taro balls. Overall, very tasty. Pretty good neighborhood restaurant on Coral Way serving respectable Cuban food. Indoor or outdoor seating, no frills decor, and in a can't miss location across the street from Miracle Place (or whatever that monstrosity is called now). They serve the basics very well, grilled chicken breast, churrasco steak, fish, roast pork, it's all there. The standard sides like congri, black beans and rice, fried plantains, yuca are all excellent. What they do is not complicated, but they do it very well. read more

This is an excellent Cuban spot on Coral Way. A great outdoor patio to enjoy also. It has a very extensive menu; a few of my favorites include mariquitas for an appetizer, their churrasco for an entree, their flatbread entrees, their Cuban sandwiches, etc. The proportion sizes are large as that's typical for Cuban's. Be sure to enjoy a cortadito, they're excellent, and they have a little to-go window outside which is quick and convenient. They also have a section in the menu for some healthier food choices. My friend took me here for her favorite Cuban-style sandwiches. She got her favorite "Croqueta Preparada" and I got the "Pan con Lechon" with a Mamey smoothie. It was all really good, although I tend to like saucier things. Overall, I'd recommend it, and I would definitely take friends if I come to visit again. read more

The food definitely wasn't bad, but this place also didn't stand out. I ordered the mariquita encrusted tilapia, which was very interesting to me. I've never had tilapia prepared this way before, so it was a treat. However, the fish was a little on the dry side and we all know dry fish is not tasty fish. Fortunately, it wasn't dry enough to ruin the meal. The rice and beans were great, but I think it would be pretty hard to mess that up. Perhaps the best food I had there was the Yuca fries and sauce. The service was average. The restaurant is a chain and it shows. My boyfriend was SO excited to go here (probably because it reminds him of his youth), but it's really not that awesome. Sergio's has always been a classic local spot for a hearty Cuban breakfast and classic cafe. Not sure what Sergio's new demographic target is but they shouldn't try to make a gastro Cuban restaurant out of an old time classic. Here's our feed back: I had... Sergio's Eggs Benedict (No flavor balance... At all) Wife had... Toast and hot chocolate (hit the spot, A Okay!) Mom: Croqueta and spinach empanada (worked like a charm) Cafe con leche was delivered cold, coffee was delivered warm. I think those two staples should always be on point. Absolutely horrible experience!!! I went on their website to order, which directs you to Toast to actually place the order. I placed the order (for which I was immediately charged) at 6:10pm, with a generated pick up time of 6:35pm. My husband was there at 6:35pm on the dot and, after getting attitude from several ladies in the window, was told the order "just came in" and hadn't even been started. After asking to speak to the manager, he was told the system the have for online ordering is very slow and sometimes doesn't even send the order to the restaurant (side note: there was another lady there picking up her food who also had to wait an hour due to the same issue). So, after waiting ANOTHER 45 minutes, my husband left with our food so our two starving kids could finally eat. What kind of restaurant chain, with the volume of clients that Sergio's has, has such a poor and ill managed online ordering system???? The whole thing was very frustrating, and the cherry on top was the unnecessary attitude the workers gave my husband. Went yesterday afternoon (Saturday/1-23-21) and the service was not very good at all. The waiter was absent minded and took forever with everything. Ordered some croquettes that were stale and room temperature. The crackers that accompanied them were ALL crushed to crumbs in the packaging and the two tiny pieces of lime wedges were so dried out that I couldn't get but a drop of lime juice from each one. My son's chicken sandwich was very good, but the waiter forgot to bring the fries. Note: I was ultimately charged for them anyway. My chicken breast was also room temperature and a bit stiff. So we're the maduros. Given the snail pace of the waiter, and slightly disinterested attitude overall, I decided to not say a word and instead moved onto the rice and beans which were ok. Despite all this, I still wanted to finish off with a cortadito and took a chance. It was terrible. There is no way to put it, it just tasted bad. Bad milk, bad coffee, I couldn't tell. Not good. Lastly on this day, upon getting up from our table I walked over to the coffee window to break a $5 bill into singles in order to tip the elderly gentleman that directs the cars in the parking lot. The lady at the window told me she had no way of giving change for the $5. Really?!? This, despite me telling her what it was for. She made no attempt at all. I found the staff there LAZY overall! I just tipped the old fellow the $5. He's a very nice man. This is all a big shame because what they've done to this location has made the place a very pleasant place to enjoy delicious Cuban meals. I believed it was worth writing this, hoping that management sees it, because just one month ago my son and I were there and had a completely opposite experience. The food and the service was great on that day. No complaints. Bottom line, the entire staff needs WAY MORE TRAINING and there needs to be MORE quality control on the food leaving the kitchen and to the paying customers at the tables. This is my regular staple location. Never really disappoints since it serves good food and very reasonable prices. They have recently started their "La Flaca" menu which is on the grill and has reduced salt/grease. I enjoy this selection but realize that with that they have reduced the portions. A regular portion/serving is actually larger and more fulfilling than the la Flaca menu. Overall a great place for fast Cuban food. read more

I had lunch there with a friend she likes the Flaca Menu, but on this occasion, she wanted to have a salad with churrasco beef. It looked nice and she said it tasted amazing... I had an appetizer for my entree , three different tostones topped one with shrimp, one with shredded pork and one with beef. This was filling and delicious. Eating at Sergio's has been long overdue for me but I was finally able to!! I came in with my husband for lunch and you can tell this is a local spot. Waiters we're saying hello/goodbye to their frequent customer, the vibe was very positive even with the caos inside the restaurant- it was packed. You know you're in a good place when there is a waiting list. It was a beautiful afternoon so my husband and I decided to sit outside and enjoy the unusually cold Miami weather. The menus were left immediately at the table. I was very surprised at the simplicity of the menu- not that many dishes, really but oh boy did they have the classics! Chicken milanesas, ropa vieja, croqueta, tostones, media noche sandwich.... it's like coming home! Going over the menu, I stumbled upon their healthy/light menu- basically lighter versions of their main dishes. Everything looked so delicious but my mind was made up... you see, I'm a simple gal and I wanted a dish that would take me back to my childhood but I also was not looking for something too heavy. I went for their croqueta sandwich- which was basically a media noche with ham croquetas in cuban bread. My husband on the other hand went all out with a chicken milanesa, buttery mashed potatoes and tostones. The food took a while to come but I believe is because everything is made to order... all the more reason to savor every bite! When the food did come... oh so worth the wait! There is no portion control in this restaurant- it simply doesn't exist- just like when grandma served you a dish. The chicken milanesa was the size of a large ipad, the tostones were freshly fried, the mashed potato was smooth... the sandwich was everything from my childhood and more! A tower of ham and pork toped with melted Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard and finished with a smashed ham croqueta... saddly I didn't have room for a cortadito which is a great excuse to be back here! I like Sergio's. The patio is nice, as is the indoor dining room. The lechon is flavorful. Their breakfast options are good, but I'm a traditional omelette fan, and their version is not even close. I asked for cheese to be added, and the result was a slice of cheese melted on top of the big flat egg thing. I guess I should know better than to try to customize my breakfast! This is a good place for a meal or snack at any time of day. read more

My favorite Cuban restaurant of all! When comparing to La Careta and Versailles in the area. Everything is delicious, but my favorite of all is the turkey picadillo. Healthy and lots of SAVOR! The service portions are fair for me, I always have leftovers. Parking is easy, but like all places will be busy during peak hours. read more

Sergio's Revisited 3252 SW 22nd St Miami, FL 33145 I recently had occasion to revisit Sergio's on Coral Way who I previously wrote about - not too happily - and I'm happy to report that it was way better than before! Funnily enough as I was waiting for my food I heard a (Cuban) couple at the next table commenting that the food had recently improved. Well, it had. I had chicken fricasee, black beans and rice and yuca and am delighted to report that not only did I enjoy it, I had to leave lots of it because they give me so much! I've eaten here a few times, always getting the same thing. Usually when I get out of work, it's very late. They're the only non-fast food location nearby other than Denny's. I consistently get great food, but always take-out. Not to say anything about the service, they always SEEM nice - just that it can be a bit loud for me. I've been eating churrasco since I was a baby, and I can honestly day I love theirs. Always a good cut of meat, really well marinated, great congri, love the maduros. And the fresh orange juice while you wait is a staple. Minus one star because sometimes when I go, I look online to see when they close or on the front door even and they claim to be open for another hour or so - except the servers inside are anxious to get home and say they're closed. The Cuban style omelet came with sweet plantains which did the trick. It made a breakfast come to life. The tomatoes didn't go too well with the omelet but not too hard to put aside. I went to Sergio's for breakfast, when I arrived the place was pretty packed which is always a good sign. After waiting for a few minutes we were seated. We decided to try their Abuela's French toast with coconut flakes and guava sauce and Sergio's Eggs Benedict. The food was pretty good, they use Cuban bread for their French toast, their eggs benedict also come on Cuban bread with a choice of roasted pork, ham or bacon, being Cuban myself I chose pork. It was definitely a different take on the famous dish but it worked for me. The pork was nice and juicy, eggs were beautifully poached. the hollandaise was flavorful couldn't ask for more. I also got to try their croquetas and they were pretty tasty. Overall I had a very nice experience and I would definitely go back if I'm in the area. read more

The people packing the to go plates or delivery plates take food from other plates of those who eat in the restaurant to fill up the delivery orders... the most disturbing thing I ever saw was a bus boy, taking bacon off of plates ( after taking them away from the tables) and adding them to the breakfast platters that was being delivered... pure disgust I noticed something weird when I picked up a chicken soup and the lime that they gave me looked like someone used it right before they put it with my order. We have gone several times for brunch. I liked the huevos rancheros. The service is always great. Server Liz is wonderful. One time I hurt my foot in their parking lot and manager Maurizio was very attentive and responded appropriately. I would definitely go back! read more
