I've never left a negative review before, but I've also never had a pedicure turn out this poorly. They even overcharged me at the end--only $5, but it still shouldn't have happened. All I asked for was a simple clean-up of my toes (which weren't bad to begin with) and a clear coat for winter, and this is the result I ended up with. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received and if I could give zero stars I would have. Time is precious and we all don't have a lot of it so when you go have a service done you expect the best. Well I did not get anything close to even decent, rather the nail polish on my feet is so horrible that I am going to have to spend more of my time and money to have it fixed elsewhere. I didn't notice the polish until I got home, otherwise I would have said something when I was there. It cost me $75 plus a $10 tip, ergh. Take a look at the photos, and you can see how horrible this polish job is. I am incredible frustrated because I work a lot and don't have the extra time to fix this mess before my event this weekend. Ugh, I am a Yelper who did not review the Yelps first! I've been going to this place for a couple years. My nails used to last like a month after getting gel. But I feel like the quality is going downhill. The last couple times I've done gel, it usually chips off within a few days. I don't know if the products they are buying are worse now than they used to be. Then I tried getting dip at this place and within two days it started chipping off. Dip is not supposed to chip off! It's supposed to be indestructible. So I'm not sure what quality products they are using, but they are not quality at all. Plus I spend a fortune every time I go, and for my nails to not even last a few days is crazy. I will not be going back here and I sadly need to find a new nail place now :( I wouldn't recommend this place. Not worth the money. read more

Second time I've tried this location and second "so-so" experience. This time I felt rushed and was disappointed in the outcome. I came in asking for my gel x extensions to be removed and to get dip instead. I wanted short natural nails. I was told by the technician that she would cut my extensions down and fill them with builder gel instead. She shaped them poorly and I was so anxious and annoyed the whole time. Because I had to give her feedback when she asked if like the shape. I was like no, they are not even. It told me telling her "I'll fix it at home" for her to go back at actually fix one nail that was the greatest offender. I will be filing my nails to make them the correct even shape at home. It just felt so icky when it should have been a relaxing experience. The nail tech who did my pedicure was great. So therefore - a so so experience. Please give me recs for very detail oriented technicians who listen and execute what you're actually looking for. Bonus if they don't make your nails look like an arthritic witch and don't boss you around. I know they exist, but since moving down here I haven't found "The One" read more

For getting the $60 mani pedi package you'd think I'd be there for at least an hour- no. I have been going here for like 6 months. Almost every time I come out disappointed, this last time May 29, 2021 was it Kathy took off my regular nail polish off my toes with an electrical tool, left my toe nail with dents and forget the finished product, the nail polish bumpy and you could see the indentations on my nail, the polish was gooey, she had to take it off, using another lighter color to see if it was better, NO WAY ! I still paid full price for the crappie job. Then my hands with Nataly, every time I ask her to cut them halfway, for some dang reason, my thumbs get cut all the way to almost the skin, I just do t get it, this lat time she did an awful job, my pinky as sticky and rough, all my nails uneven, you could also see that she did a fill, you could see where the other one was, because you could see it through the top. I came here with my Latinx friend, I'm Chinese. We walk in and of course all patrons are Caucasian. Something to expect in San Clemente. During covid, everyone wore masks of course. Typical experience where they ask me about my ethnicity. I always expect or can guess that the nail techs are talking about me in Vietnamese. I wasn't happy with my gel manicure, the nail shapes were horribly off and cut at weird diagonal edges. It wasn't cleaned well. The gel finish has air bubbles and strings on the finishing touches. At most it was only two thin layers. My Pedicure... was almost horrible. They showed me a price list of pedicures and told me 81$ and told me that's what I would be paying but I couldn't get a quick look at what I was getting. It wasn't anything special but foot masks. And my regular pedicure was also only two thin layers by the time it was done I could see the second layer ma edges weren't full and only half assed. One of the worst mani/pedis I have ever had. My nails began peeling shortly after a few days. Didn't even last a week. Nowhere does it show a pricing list. Very deceptive. read more

I've gone here multiple times and each time is a disappointment. I get very basic nail polish or gel and it is sloppy each time they do it. They rush around and don't understand what you want or really listen to what you want. There's usually only one person who speaks broken English and the employees communicate through him, not the customers. I got a simple french tip manicure and the white tip on my nails are uneven and they painted over fuzz that was on my nail. The white tip on each nail is uneven and different sizes to where my nail looks deformed. I've even gotten basic nail polish here before and it was still wet and it smeared everywhere when I got into my car. I've also gotten gel and there are always bubbles underneath the clear coat. Another time I got a pedicure and they accidentally cut my skin to where it was bleeding and this wasn't the first time this happened. I've tried multiple different things, hoping the service would get better at this nail salon and it did not. It's disappointing to spend so much money on your nails when they never turn out good. I only get my nails done maybe twice a year and this is the reason why I never get them done anymore. I will not be coming to this nail salon anymore. read more

I have been a customer of Serenity Nails for years. I've also been a customer since its opening and under different ownerships. With the new owner, Steve, I have noticed a change in the quality of service, the atmosphere, and I have found him to be rude on more than one occasion. Today, was no exception. When the manicurist doing my nails could not answer my questions because of a lack of an English speaking ability, he rudely answered my question not even making eye contact. I also get the feeling that the gals working there are being pressured to do fast work to make more profit. It's the second time in recent history that I've felt my service was rushed. Besides my nail service, I asked for a massage from the gal doing the work, and she responded that she had other customers waiting. She then put the massage function on on my chair. I had actually made an appointment, and I requested a service, but the walk-ins were the priority to my astonishment. Conversely, the two walking-in customers asked for a massage as well, and the gal was most happy to do it. I'm not sure why my my money wasn't as good. I am always very polite and friendly, so I feel that the pressure the gals are receiving from management is the issue. I will be looking for another salon. read more
