My two stars are based on cleanliness. I did the lash lift and tint. I was going to buy the groupon but when I called to make an appointment I was told not to bc they'd honor the price. When I got there I was still charged an additional $5 groupon fee. Whatever. My tech seemed inexperienced and the job was sloppy. It was not my first time with the lash lift but certainly the most uncomfortable time. The product got in my eye and it stung. This has happened to me before but it never hurt that bad. I purchased a Groupon for a one-year unlimited laser hair removal on a large area and used it for my lower legs. I started in March of 2019 and had held off from writing a review because I wanted to at least have half a year's session to to assess the service. Note that this isn't my first rodeo since I have had laser hair removal done on a different area but with a different company so I do have something to compare then with. The clinic is clean, well-lit and has ample space for the services they provids. They have three private rooms and during the course of my monthly sessions I was able to use all. Their staff are friendly and accommodating from the minute I arrive. The most waiting that I've experienced was about 10 minutes tops. Making an appointment is also a breeze. On to the actual hair removal service: treatment for both my lower legs was fast quick and pain free. It takes the tech less than 20 minutes to do both legs. The device feels cold to the touch and as it gives out bursts of laser to kill off the hair follicles, I felt as if a rubber band is snapping against my leg. Since I started in March, I had high hopes that come summertime I will be able to be relatively hair free and I don't need to bother with the razor. Unfortunately, August came and left and I was still shaving my legs as if I've never had 6 laser treatment! I expressed this concern to the technician and I was told that they will use a different machine for my future treatments (apparently there is a different laser procedure which is more costly and more effective). By my 7th session, they did use a different machine and this time around they applied a gel on my leg before starting the laser treatment. As I write this, I am waiting for my 9th laser session with gel. Oddly enough, the gentleman at the front desk asked me how I am liking the gel session and I really couldn't answer... Even until now as I write this review. I took a peek at my legs and still see a lot of hair, albeit a little thinner bit definitely still a lot. The laser works because the hair looks thin but I signed up for laser hair REMOVAL, not thinning. I still have a few sessions left (you can only do one in 4 weeks, basically, once a month) of my unlimited session for 1 year but at this point, I'm really just trying to mentally comfort myself by using up the "unlimited" package that I paid for even if in reality the hair free outcome may not be attainable. read more

My review is based solely on my experience with the Lash Lift. I will start with communication. Your best bet is to make your appointment online. Edwin is incredibly communicative and responsive and will probably respond with availabilities within a few hours if not sooner so that was a plus. It was easy for me to get started with my lash lift. I used a Groupon that I found online. That's how I found out about this place and the reviews seemed good enough which drew me here. I had my first appointment on Monday. Unfortunately because of a parking issue, I had to come back today to get the tint. I wasn't aware that I would have to pay an additional $10 for "taxes" is what the receptionist told me. It was not stated in the Groupon so even though I paid $75 for lift and tint on Groupon, I ended up paying $85 before tip. People will say that's a decent price but I definitely found other places that were cheaper. As for the actual procedure itself, I'll break down the time stamps. It's 15 minutes of a certain serum, then another 15 minutes with a different serum where they'll cover your eyes with a plastic wrap and hot towels on top, and then the tint. I wasn't too wowed by the results. You can see for yourself in the photos. I'm not sure if my eyelashes are stubborn but they aren't as lifted as I had hoped they would be from the front. The picture that I took is actually from a down up angle so you could see the difference. In person, it's not too drastic of a difference, I could have curled my lashes for the same effect. The tint itself, did not seem to do anything for me at all unfortunately. I didn't bother posting any pictures because you would think that I was lying about getting a tint - it looked that similar to my regular lift. The people were friendly (although my appointment did start 8 minutes late because the person had come in late). At Serenity laser, it really depends on who you get. I try to stick to one person because I think they do a great job explaining what they're doing, and ensuring that they're not going to hurt you during the process by asking the right questions. They're also not too pushy with the packages. However I've had others at this location simply try to sell me packages and rush through the job, where it doesn't feel thorough at all and you can tell they've missed spots. So, do try to be vocal about what you want and expect because the services itself are very good for the prices and I'd like to come back for more. I give this place 3 stars because as a whole business, they're extremely difficult to communicate with. No one ever answers the phone so it's hard to make changes or reschedule your appointment. You can't even inform someone that you might be late to your appointment because no one answers the phone. I feel like it's standard business practice to have a working phone or a receptionist attentive to phone calls. Not having this makes it very frustrating and stressful for the customers. read more

First, I want to say that the location was very convenient and easy to get to. Second, I want to say that the inside was super clean and inviting. I had an appointment for the eyelash tint and lift and this was my first time ever getting one so I was kind of scared lol. I arrived a little late to my appointment and they were kind and understanding and the wait time was little to none. I was welcomed by Luisa who was really sweet and very knowledgeable about the service. I had expressed my concerns about the lash lift but Luisa made sure I felt calm and that I was okay throughout the whole process. I have to say, I LOVE my lashes. She is one of the best technician, super careful and never rushes. She took her own time to cover each and every area. I started the process for laser tattoo removal here. My first visit was great. I loved my technician and the atmosphere. My second visit was okay. I don't feel I got much results from the second visit and I feel like the technician I got the second time was a little more rushed. The third time I tried to make an appointment, unfortunately I needed to call and reschedule but they became bad at answering phones and even returning phone calls so by the time I HAD to call them back to see if they got my voicemail, apparently they didn't and I got charged the late cancellation fee. I'm not coming back for my 3rd or 4th session. It's a waste of money since I prepaid for 4 sessions but it's not worth the aggravation at this point. I would not recommend this place. I purchased a Groupon for the lash lift and tint. In the process of making a reservation, Edwin was very helpful. I was excited to try this place out but it all turned when I got there. I had an appointment for 6pm. Due to train delays I did not get there until 620pm which I let them know. They were still able to see me. As I entered the room, there was no greeting, no hospitality at all. They told me to get comfortable and then the tech started. She was talking to her colleague in Spanish the entire time on how she was supposed to leave earlier. I couldn't help but think why they didn't just cancel my appointment since I was late but they never brought that up. The tech told me I had to lay there for 15 mins. 15 mins she comes back and does something else to my lashes and says 15 more minutes. Apparently she left and didn't let anyone know. 45 minutes later I call for someone in which I hear the other tech say in Spanish "omg she's still there?" This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. If you are treating someone's face you should always be careful. My lashes are completely straight up with no curl. My first time doing laser. Marjorie was great! She placed me at ease and did a fabulous and professional job, as it can be a bit uncomfortable depending on what you're getting done. The actual laser bothered less than expected. At the end she told me that my hair will grow back and then start to fall off!! Man she nailed it. My hair grew back, I shaved my lower body once and my underarms and face twice (my hair grows back fast and that's why I'm doing this) but then it just started to fall off. I got a Groupon code for laser treatment and that's how I started to come to serenity. The staff is friendly and nice. The most outstanding ones are the owner Mayra and Luisa. Mayra has done lash lift for me and it just comes out soooooo good I get so many compliments for it. She definitely knows how to work and seems passionate about her profession. Luisa has done bleaching and laser treatments for me. She is also amazing, always making sure I am comfortable and that everything is ok. The reason why I don't give the full stars to the business is because I did get a laser skin resurfacing. I consulted about it mainly because I have a scar on my nose that's pitted and a couple other pimple blemishes from picking at my skin. I paid for 3 Tx but only did 2 because after the second time. I'm not sure if the energy or power on it was too high that it burned my skin leaving me with dark pigmentations. It's been almost a year and half and the pigmentation still doesn't come out. I did consult with mayra about it and she said she was going to see if I can get a dif tx next time. But I never see her when I go. I did go to the location in LIC and a girl there said there was another way to remove the pigmentation but I still haven't gotten answers and I forgot her name too. Anyways For laser and bleaching the process for me was amazing.
