I had high hopes for my appointment with Laser Away, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations. I'm on my 5th treatment now, so no I am not a disgruntled first time patient. My original appointment was scheduled for Saturday, April 19th, but I received a last-minute phone call on Friday informing me that they had to reschedule for Easter Sunday due to a shortage of staff. I was hesitant about spending my holiday at a laser appointment, but they had no availability for the following week, so I reluctantly agreed. I arrived at 4:45 PM for my 5 PM appointment but wasn't escorted into the back until around 5:30 PM. It would have been nice if the front desk staff had communicated the delay or offered an apology for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. Interestingly, I noticed another patient who was of a different skin complexion arrived just a few minutes after me was taken back much quicker. I didn't leave until 6:18. Over an hour spent for an appointment that normally takes ten minutes. It's interesting how if you happen to be running five minutes late they will rudely call you for your ETA. However when the place of business is running significantly behind schedule they can't courteously call their clients to let them know of the situation. Especially when parking is hard to find on this street and you have to pay. An appointment that normally takes about 20 minutes ended up being over an hour ordeal on Easter Sunday. This inconsistency and lack of professionalism left a bad impression. My previous visit wasn't much better; the front desk staff member, AJ, was not friendly either. She has a demeanor like she's tired or low energy, lackluster and doesn't want to be bothered. Overall, the atmosphere here feels unwelcoming. Fast fwd to summertime 8/14/25 The lady Tamara told me i was done with my sessions however i had been keeping a log of all the dates of my sessions and knew i still had on more. Hence it still allowed me to book more sessions on the app. I get to my next appointment on 8/14 front desk confirms I'm here for face,Brazilian, and under arm... then the nurse in the back says I'm only here for face ?? I'm like the lady at front desk just said I'm getting three things today. Go to the front to rectify it and now the Spanish chick Jen is telling me i only booked for face, I'm like why did the front desk just confirm all three?? Couldn't give me an answer. The staff member Tamara had called me two days prior to confirm the appointment and mentioned all three treatments i would be getting. I wasted gas, parking fees, and time coming here today. My interactions with Jenn since transferring my packages from Atlanta has been negative. She is not a people person, and honestly a secret shopper should come to this location and observe the behavior here. Given my experiences, I've decided to transfer my membership and explore other locations. I've been going to laser away for a few treatments over the last two years or so, and they never disappoint! I first started with Botox - where they have a competitively priced package deal and great resources prior to signing up. I was contacted by a professional ahead of actually coming in to listen what I wanted and to give suggestions based off of my face at the start. Every session since has been smooth and I have loved the results. So much so that it's made me expand what I use them for - now laser hair removal and lip filler. For the hair removal and filler, similarly, had consultation calls with a professional ahead of time. They don't skimp just because you're an existing customer! For the laser hair removal, I've noticed already better results in comparison to a place I went pre-Covid. While pricey, they have a payment plan that met my needs and abilities financially. And the results are worth it. Lastly, the staff- from the professionals I spoke with prior to signing up for services, to the front desk, and the nurses, everyone is so kind and understanding. Regular reminders about appointments, flexible hours and rescheduling policies. They now know my name at the Astoria location and even before then was always greeted with kindness and excitement. Buyer beware! Apologies for the long post! Zero star. So disappointed. Do yourself a favor and find a smaller and more personalized place to do your cosmetic treatments. I was originally excited to do my laser hair removal through LaserAway. Clinicians are nurses and I appreciate healthcare professionals, being one myself. Multiple locations, staff was always friendly and the facilities clean. Unfortunately, halfway through my treatments I noticed I wasn't making expected progress. I began voicing this to each clinician asking them to evaluate my laser setting and only small adjustments were made to my treatment plan. It's like they didn't take my word or care that I only had a set number of sessions that I paid SO much money for. It wasn't until I came in fully unshaved for my 2nd to last treatment that my nurse realized that setting should be greatly changed. Thank you to that nurse!!! Finally some improvements! Should the pervious nurses used clinician judgment and actually LISTENED to their patient, I wouldn't be writing this negative review. When I said I wasn't happy with the overall treatment in particular areas they would literally just try to sell me more maintenance packages and every single person literally spatted out generic responses about "expected results vary and your should see 70% reduction". Like robots. The absolute WORST part of LaserAway is the bureaucracy, the management's customer service, their follow through if you're not happy with services and the CONSTANT trying to sell people on expensive packages even when you aren't happy with results. They are relentless and really do try to kindly prey on people's cosmetic insecurities. I spoke to several sales associates in hopes a to actually speak to someone in management. Having to retell my story to people who were just trying to sell me on packages. So offensive. I literally spent hours doing this to be connected with the regional nurse coordinator. She literally sounded like she was reading a script but suggested I have a "skin assessment" where a nurse would assess the hair growth and make a decision on if a complementary spot treatment would be issued. When I arrived to my appointment the nurse has NO idea or concern for all I had been through and neither did the front desk. I just felt they were defensive and not open to hear feedback on my experience. The nurse finally decided that she could look at the areas and took photos of certain areas of concern and said someone would follow up. When I got to the front desk apparently they decided I just need more maintenance packages. $$. If someone acted sooner I could have achieved ideal results. But that didn't happen and that's the point. Poor customer service. BeforeI left for the day, they did try to sell me on packages using "points and perks" which were about to expire and birthday money to lure me in but this was just against my morals. I left asking regional management to contact me. It's been nearly 2 weeks and NOT a peep! NO follow up. Also,what's the deal on maintenance packages which are "always 55% off". So basically be sure you're overpaying on your initial services. Could you imagine the profit margins?! My recommendation is to find a smaller cosmetic clinic that will actually care about the fact that you aren't seeing the progress you hoped for despite spending thousands of dollars. read more

So disappointed and beyond frustrated. After 6 sessions of tattoo removal, I can unequivocally say, I do not recommend this place. And I find all the "wonderful staff reviews" to be quite deceiving. If by "wonderful staff" you mean, the staff at the front desk calling you sweetie and love every second, while aggressively trying to upsell you every damn visit. Upon my first consultation, they told me my small black ink tattoo would require about 10 sessions, and they urged me to buy a package. I have now completed my 6th session, and it's barely faded at all. I've seen people with full sleeve tattoos get more progress after 6 sessions than this at other tattoo removal shops. And before you comment back Laseraway, and tell me it's based on how your body metabolizes the laser removal, I'm fully aware of that. I'm very healthy, exercise 5 times a week, and drink plenty of water. There is no reason my body wouldn't metabolize it. At my last session, I told my clinician that I'm not seeing progress, and her exact words were "ok let me crank up the laser". Which leads me to believe the laser is based on levels and you are doing the bare minimum level for me, so I can come back and buy more and more packages for all eternity!! I get your whole business plans is sell everyone on endless packages, but I find your practices to be highly unethical and deceiving. I'm very close to lodging a complaint with the better business bureau, as I've wasted an entire year of my time, not to mention the money, and now I have to start all over again with another shop. read more
