I visited Nas today for Botox! I've only ever done Dysport and Xeomin before but I really loved her gentle approach and the time she dedicated to me. We did my crows feet, a Botox "eyebrow lift" and injected an area on the sides of my mouth to help lessen the jowels that seem to be being pulled down by gravity since I'm 35 years old. She's highly skilled and I really really feel comfortable with her which is very important that I don't feel rushed at all since it's getting injections in my face. Love her! read more

Got Botox a few months ago. I had a conversation about how I wanted very minimal results and a low amt of units. The injector, Collin kept talking me into doing more units even though I didn't want a lot and had gotten Botox in the past. He convinced me to do a lot more in the glabella. When injecting he didn't even mark my face which resulted in my face looking completely uneven and my eyebrow and eyelid on one side being so droopy that it affected my vision for about 4 weeks and I was so embarassed in my day to day life. He was clearly super inexperienced, not to mention his own Botox looked terrible and so overdone. Then when I called they told me come back to fix it but they had Collin with me again making me feel badly and like he didn't do anything wrong. I am the customer. I was not happy and my eyes were so clearly uneven. and he was telling me he was going to inject even more. I refused and told him not to touch my face but he kept pushing. I left without getting additional Botox (thank god). I didn't trust him at all at that point and just wanted it to go away. If I could give you zero stars I would. Someone needs to inform these geniuses who are running this place that we are in a global pandemic and that once people are testing positive with a virus that killed millions - THEY CANNOT COME GET BOTOX. Smh By far the most unprofessional, low end, "med spa" I have ever dealt with. I got covid and cancelled my appointment (as is required) and they charged me a $200 fee even after I proved I had covid by sending my test in. Unreal. First of all by law, and protected by HIPAA I do not have to disclose any test for medical reasons to a private business however I did so anyway. I asked for management to contact me regarding it - they refuse. 10 emails later - still battling. Honestly, you can tell that they cater to a very low in crowd, doing budget work and they are very low in customer service. It's actually tacky let alone dangerous. I had heard warnings about this company before, I should've listened when my friend got Botox and bruises with a crooked eyebrow. Run far. My sister also went here and told me that they water down Botox, she usually only does 40 units and she did 60 there and within two months it was completely gone. It seems like they make up the revenue with their deals by charging everyone for cancellation or modifying appointments and skipping on Botox. Also, always wear a mask if you do go in and risk it because of their abrasive cancellation fees of $200, I can only imagine how many people are coming with active covid into that place. Gross. The funny thing is, instead of building a loyal customer, (I just moved from Miami and needed a new injector locally), especially someone who does Botox, fillers, dermal threads, lifting threads, facial peels, laser hair removal, and spends thousands of dollars every few months on my face alone, they would rather try to scam me for a lousy $200, low budget move. Found the nurse to be extremely heavy handed or just down right incompetent and negligent. A week after my (unusually painful) injections, I still have noticeable bruising on my forehead and my eyebrows have DROPPED when usually I see a lift in their appearance. I don't like to give poor reviews but I find this place incredibly unprofessional and unqualified to inject patrons. I came here with about 3-4 prior to an international trip for tear trough fillers, botox and fillers for jawline/cheeks. The injector upsold me on several additional syringes of filler (that I have never been offered elsewhere with master injecting MDs) and I ended up leaving with almost $4k in expenses. For the one syringe I was recommended in other reputable practices, the injector was recommending double. While the results were good, they were by no means substantial. The tear trough fillers LITERALLY had me in tears. After one prick of the syringe the injector has a look of horror on her face and blatantly told me, "you are going to bruise" and asked if I drank or took and any anti-inflammatory meds prior (almost implying it was my fault). Otherwise she was really nice, but for something she clearly caused she brushed it off as an "adverse event". I have had fillers for years and never bruised so badly. My eye was black for a full month following, including on my trip where I got engaged. I had to pile on makeup for the special outing and I was honestly devastated. I reached out to the injector on IG and although she offered to have me come in, nothing was ever mentioned about a refund or any additional discount or rectification for the issue. I didn't even bother at that point. The thing that annoyed me the most was that at the time of payment the receptionist blankly stared at me and asked if I was going to "tip for the service". Meanwhile a horrible black eye was already taking a quick form. That's a joke right? An RN? A medical professional should never be taking tips from someone. Its super tacky and a disgusting ploy to get more money out of patrons. As a manger of a reputable practice, i would never allow my staff or providers to collect any tips. read more

I will never return to this spa not only because I was botched because of poor injector technique but because of the poor management this place has. I originally ended up with right eye droopiness after getting Disport. Four days later I noticed my eye was droopy and heavy, when I reached out to talk to someone I got the run around. To begin all I was asking for was eye drops that would assist with droopiness and the injector told me I had to wait two weeks because it would interfere with my healing. I'm a nurse and that's not true. So then I escalated it and asked to speak to a supervisor, I had to get angry to get a supervisor to call me back. Which is completely unprofessional. When she got back to me I was already so upset. She scheduled me for an appointment with who she said was her expert injector. To begin I would have never gone with an inexperienced injector if I knew they had expert injectors. When I saw the gentleman he injected me with 6 units on my eye lid and asked me to wait two weeks from the original injection date. I not only waited two weeks I waited almost 3 weeks to reach out again and tell them I still had the droopiness. I asked for a supervisor to call me back. I was asked to text back a picture of my eye which I did. Once again no professionalism by not returning my call. If I was the owner of this company I would have management follow up with clients they make mistakes on. This company has completely ruined my holidays. As I was unable to enjoy Christmas and new years, and have limited my outings thanks to them. I have been an UPKEEP medspa patient for about almost 3 yrs now. I normally go to the UES location and get injected with Cynthia (who I still love!) but for last min scheduling reasons I booked at the Greenwich Village location with Michelle! It was my first time at this location & it was super comfortable and cozy. The receptionist Amanda was incredibly sweet & accommodating from the moment I checked in to the moment I left. Even though I knew the process of getting my lip fillers done, she still answered any questions I had! I am also so happy that I was Michelle's patient. Being that I like to have the same continuity in team care, I was a bit nervous but Michelle was just the best. I requested for a bit extra numbing cream which she honored. We spent some good time figuring out what brand and shape would look best. And the overall outcome was just amazing. I did do a quick lip, so less bruising for sure. But again I was just so happy that even POST-lip filler, my pain was honestly a solid 2/10 at most. I will continue to go to UPKEEP medspa because they are just all so great every time! I wish I could give this business zero stars. I also wish I would have done my due diligence and read all the one star reviews before making an appointment! After being targeted by their IG ads, I decided to try them out and made an appointment for Sunday 3/19 for 1:45pm. As I would be a new customer, I tried to leave a bit earlier (coming all the way across the city from the west side), because I knew I might need to fill out some intake forms. Unknowingly, I realize that the NY half-marathon is taking place this day. This means all major roads are closed and I would be sitting bumper to bumper traffic and would run late. I tried taking the subway which was also running on delays. I call Upkeep to let them know I would be running a little late due to these unforeseen circumstances. They proceed to tell me they will need to reschedule me and charge me a $200 no-show fee. I tell them that's absurd and I am already on my way. I get there 12 MINUTES LATE, they say they cant see me and charge me the fee. I am literally in tears at this point from the stress of getting across town during a MARATHON. I email their Customer Service and they say there is nothing they can do about the $200 fee. Did I cancel, NO? Was I a no-show, NO? So why am I getting charged a cancellation fee? PLEASE UPDATE YOUR T&Cs, they are vague and don't reflect this situation. If you read their reviews, there are clients who had to cancel because they were infected with COVID and could not come in, and they STILL charge cancellation fees. The fact that they would rather have infected people with COVID come in or charge them the $200 cancellation fee is absolutely disgusting and should really tell you about their shady business practices. They also have F RATING with the BBB, that should really tell you something! This business has no consideration for their customers, and considering there are a dime a dozen medspas in NYC that have WAY better treatment of their customers, I highly doubt Upkeep will be around for much longer. I was referred by a friend. Her natural lips are bigger and fuller than mine. She pays $250 every 6 months and her lips looks amazing. I made my appointment and I got there, the front desk was nice and made me feel comfortable and prepared me while we waited for Cynthia. Cynthia is amazing and she is knowledgeable. I did ask for the same package as my friend. She suggested that I go for the $375 package as it was my first time. I was just concerned that my lips don't look like sausages. She said that it will help define the lip lines and if I wanted more I could always come back. I was glad and did that. Yes initially it swelled up and next day it was gone. Nothing. My lips looks exactly as it was originally. I called them the next day to see what were my options. If I had to pay another $250 and fill more? I emailed and texted nothing from them. Also when I checked out there were two ladies busy chatting in the front and I waited for them to check me out. I had to ask them if I could get a balm. They didn't know what I was asking they were completely disconnected from the business!! I had the BEST experience with Nazeli Hakobyan in the UES office. I had botox on my forehead and frown lines. She came in and talked everything through with me and really listened to what i wanted. (if you look at my other reviews you will see that i have walked out of places in the past that seemed really shady- this is 100% an honest review) We did the injections and she was the best!!!!! I can't help but to be extremely disappointed. I got 9 sessions of laser hair removal, yes NINE, on time (4-6 weeks), every time. It's now been about 3 months and all of my hair is back. It's not any thinner or any less. It's literally almost the same as it was before. I'm sure I signed some paper with fine print that said I knew this was a possibility, but wow. My roommate went with me for every session, and her hair is back too!!!! Very frustrating and felt like a HUGE waste of money. I even did a consultation and checked the credibility of the laser used (Rohrer Aesthetics Epilaze). It's a shame because I really enjoyed my conversations with Taryn! Avoid this place entirely if you are seeking Dysport treatment. I've been receiving Dysport for over 6 years so I am very aware of the overall process and what my typical dosage is. Upkeep doubled my normal dosage (I normally receive 45 units, I was given 95!!) and wouldn't give me a clear answer as to why. My nurse (dressed in a crop top and leggings, wildly unprofessional attire for a nurse...) just kept comparing Dysport to Botox and kept mumbling something about Dysport needing more units. Big red flag! I didn't come here for Botox. I use Dysport... I really can't believe I let her start the treatment as she didn't seem to care that I asked for a more conservative treatment. The nurse was extremely heavy-handed with the needle. I've never had such a painful experience w/ Dysport. Ever. I mentioned the pain to her during treatment but she kept going... It was incredibly uncomfortable. She NEVER offered an ice pack which is common practice after filler treatment (clearly, this is not a high-end medical spa...). This gets worse... The next morning I was COVERED in bruises. Multiple black and blue marks on my forehead and near my temple. The bruising was so bad on my forehead that it lasted for over 2 WEEKS. Bad to the point where my family was asking if I had run into a door or had fallen... It was incredibly embarrassing. Again, as someone who is very familiar with Dysport, this was NOT normal for me. I've never bruised like this before. As for the final result, my face feels incredibly tight and my forehead is completely frozen. It was not the look I wanted. I was so upset with my treatment that I decided to reach out to express my concerns. The owner, Tamara, really didn't seem to care about my heavy, multiple week bruising or that fact that I had confirmed with my previous (actual) medical spa that I was given a ridiculous amount of Dysport. I find it kind of funny her tag line is "focused on the customer experience". She DID NOT care about my wellbeing or my experience. She offered absolutely nothing to fix the terrible treatment I received. Do yourself a major favor, take your business and money to an actual medical spa and save yourself from terrible bruising and an excessive amount of filler. read more

Update: 1 month later, Josie Christian has been emailed as requested "to make this right." and has asked for a letter from her MD to be provided for a full refund to be issued. There has been an exchange of multiple emails in which finally she was told that her refund was issued and would reflect on her account in 1-3 business days. It has now been over a week and still no refund. She has contacted Bank of America and was told that no refund was issued and is now forced to file a dispute with a claim's specialist directly through her bank. I booked for Dysport in my jaw- after speaking to my injector she told me she would be giving me 40 units- 20 in each side of my face which she reiterated several times. I go to the front desk to check out and my bill was 3x what I was told. The receptionist said there was 120 units in the system. I said that's not correct I confirmed 40 units several times with my injector. The injector then comes out to discuss and she says oh no it was 120 units. I was then told I had to pay because that's the amount I did indeed receive. If someone had told me I was going to receive 120 units I would have DECLINED THE SERVICE but I was intentionally misled for a service which you pay by the unit. A complete bait & switch business practice and I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Not to mention afterwards I spoke to a GM from their Dallas location (this happened at their UES location) and was offered "we are sorry for the miscommunication." Blatantly lying to a customer to charge them triple is not a miscommunication it's deceptive and done to up their bottom line. DO NOT GO HERE. read more
