I visited yesterday and Veronika did amazing job again! She did my favorite combo treatment- microdermabrasion followed by micro-needling and green LED light to calm my skin down. I got a special deal on the combo. I'm only 32 but I had deep wrinkle on my forehead, wrinkles from smiling and fine wrinkles under my eyes. I did laser hair removal for upper lip. They have all covid precautions such as masks required until you're getting treated, also one person at a time, no seating area, they tell you once you arrive in front of the place, text the # and they'll let you know when the customer inside leave and everything is sanitized so you can enter. They do temp checks and it just looks very well kept and clean. The laser does freaking hurt like hell but I also have low pain tolerance; but it does work miracles !! Only $20 for each session for upper lip, that's it! Def worth it! read more

I like to visit places a couple of times before I make a review. I've been to Velvet Effects 3 times for Brazilian. All times I've seen Ashley and my experience has been GREAT!!!! During my first appointment the owner actually gave us a lesson on what laser is and what to expect, I've been no another laser place and they did not do this. My technician Ashley is very knowledgeable, sweet and patience since sometimes laser can hurt. Like I said before i only get a Brazilian so after 3 appointments my hairs have diminished drastically. Now I am not Chubaca hairy but I will continue to get my Brazilian laser-ed as its less painful than waxing and it definitely last longer than waxing for me. Since I've been doing laser I do not have any ingrown hair or any burns whatsoever. I go with a friend who has gone 4 times and has gotten her face, underarms, Brazilian and thighs done. Again she has had a great experience as me and she's hairy, LOL. My only CON is that i wish they had an office closer to my house since I live in the Bronx and travel to Queens. This review is long over due. I bought a deal last year online for laser hair removal. My deal included 6 sessions and then I bought a single session at regular price, for a total of 7 for my armpits. The results were GREAT! I had really dark hair and I have pale skin so I guess you could say I was the perfect candidate for this procedure. I am very happy with the results. The skin on my armpits is very smooth now. I do have some hair that grows occasionally but it is very fine. I notice it when it starts to get long and then I pluck it out. When I pluck it the hair comes out very easily and doesn't hurt. I used to be so embarrassed about the hair in my armpits. I had a LOT of hair and even when I shaved it the area was still dark. So I am very happy with the results. The reason this review gets 4 out of 5 stars is because I do remember times where I had to wait a while to be seen, which seemed odd because I was the only customer there. Also the location is NOT convenient. It's almost a mile away from the nearest subway deep in the heart of Queens. I lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at the time and depending on subway construction I sometimes had to get on 3 different trains to get there. Also when I bought the deal I assumed I would be able to be seen right away and do the sessions quickly. But then was informed that since I had been waxing my armpits I had to wait a while for the hair to grow back. And you have to wait 6 weeks in between sessions to allow the maximum amount of hair to grow to the surface. This info would have been useful before I bought the deal because I was in the process of moving out of state. But everything worked out. If I still lived in NYC I probably would go back. Part of me says I would cause the procedures worked. The other part of me says I don't want to deal with the commute. But if I lived in Queens or had a car I would definitely go back. Just remember.....The procedure does hurt but the pain doesn't last long. It's like an electrical spark on your skin. So don't rush into it, especially if you are doing sensitive areas. And the overall process is NOT quick. An average of 6 sessions with 6 weeks in between each session means that you won't see the final results for months. So if this is something you have been considering for a vacation, wedding, etc. I would time it out and start ASAP. read more

First, it's obvious the owner is not greedy because his prices are far below the industry standard. Low prices does not mean low quality work. Anna at the front desk is so cute and cheerful. She gave me the information to prepare for my chin getting lasered, which was followed. The chin hurt like hell. It felt like hot rubber bands snapping on the area. I was told to not shave the area for as long as possible so the technician could see and assess the area. I had no clue that not only is the desired area treated but the hair disintegrates! It's like a wax session and permanent hair removal session in one. I was so impressed that I went back two weeks later to start laser removal on my legs. Now, the laser is the star of the show but Ashley is the girl that performs the magic. She is so damn nice, real and friendly.
