Half of my Chicago Pastrami
Sandhya G.

Probably the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. The Chicago Pastrami comes packed with thick slices of pastrami, pickles, mustard, cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and pepperoncinis. It was super flavorful and the bread was toasted but still super soft. A great sandwich overall.

If you are looking for a standout deli experience in Clovis, Sequoia Sandwich Company truly raises the bar for what a local sandwich shop can be. This Central Valley-based chain's Clovis location--its fourth in the region--feels more like an upscale café than a typical sandwich counter. The spacious interior and bustling lunch crowd give it the energy of a full-service restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor seating filling up quickly during peak hours. What sets them apart from other local sandwich chains is their premium, precision-built sandwiches. Every sandwich is thoughtfully layered with architectural care--balancing texture, flavor, and structure so each bite holds together without becoming soggy or overloaded with condiments. The quality shows in their: House-baked breads (squaw, ciabatta, French roll, sourdough, wheat), each matched intentionally to its filling: freshly sliced, high-quality meats, premium cheeses, and crisp, fresh ingredients. The strategic layering ensures structure, flavor balance, and a clean, satisfying bite from start to finish. Their delicatessen items are made the traditional way--without artificial colors, flavors, or fillers. Everything tastes fresh and house-made because it is. From scratch-made side salads and soups to desserts crafted daily, the quality is consistent across the board. Standout Menu Favorites: Philly Cheesesteak - Savory, chewy, and perfectly seasoned French Dip Sandwich - Tender, flavorful, and satisfying Homemade Chili - Smoky with a subtle zesty kick Banana Pudding - Silky, creamy, and indulgent The macaroni salad, Yukon potato salad, Hot Beef Ortega, the Sicilian, and roasted turkey breast also showcase their commitment to freshness and balance. What really distinguishes Sequoia Sandwich Company from other local sandwich chains is its dedication to precision assembly, top-tier ingredients, and a full deli program made entirely in-house. The roomy, restaurant-style setting enhances the experience, making it a popular and lively lunch destination. If you appreciate thoughtfully crafted sandwiches and authentic deli fare made from scratch, this is a place worth returning to again and again.

Monterey chicken sandwich ( half of it) and baked potato soup!

I finally got around to trying this place today. For the most part, my experience was good. Let's get the negatives out of the way first....... Ordering was a bit awkward. After reviewing the menu selection, it felt like I was waiting for a while just for a staff member to acknowledge us. Instead, the workers were standing with their backs to us , and left us standing there for a while. In fact , I was so confused I was looking around for a kiosk to order my food. The next thing that I didn't like was the price of our lunch. 45.00 for one sandwich , two small cups of soup , two fountain drinks , and a dessert. Seems pricey for a sandwich spot. I get it - this is a step up from Subway. However, for what I spent - I expected more. Finally, the dining room tables were grimy. I had to clean off our own table before the food arrived. I felt like this was inexcusable considering the amount of staff standing around not doing much. Here is what I did like. The menu has a nice variety of hot or cold sandwiches, sides , and desserts. Everything sounded so good. Today, I opted for the Monterey chicken sandwich. While the flavor was good, it ate a little messy. I had chicken pieces falling out and cheese oozing out of the bottom. I don't think I would order this again- there appears to be better options to choose from. The baked potato soup was really good ( salty but delicious)! Hands down , the best thing we tried was Gary's chocolate cake. That cream cheese frosting was heavenly! Heads up- this cake is super sweet ,and a little goes a long way. Feel free to share this dessert. I am coming back to try more menu items- I may have just ordered the wrong sandwich today.

Lord have mercyyyyyyy. I love my greens. A first for me at sequoia sandwich company. The spring salad was absolutely delicious to me. Paired with a poppyseed dressing compliments all the tangy and sweetness.(it may be a little sweet for some) the full salad is big. I had enough for 3 meals. The only thing that I noticed missing was strawberries but that's ok not a big deal for me as they adjusted my order with extra toppings. Thankful for that. The tuna sandwich has a sauce, that brings the tuna sandwich together. It compliments it well. The Yukon salad is ok. Wasn't my favorite but it wasn't terrible. I'll still eat it. Next time I'll try another one of their other sides.

It was a busy shopping day and I needed a quick bite. I attempted to go to broilers but they were closed so I came next door to Sequoia. First timer and never really heard about this place before. Walking in it felt old and dated with poor lighting. It was also a little unkept. Service was average. $15 for the grilled chicken sandwich which came with guac, lettuce and tomato +mayo, no onions for me. Overall, the sandwich was not bad. The lettuce was fresh and the bread was good. It's just nothing special that would call me back especially for the price.

Cracked pepper turkey sandwich and some salad
Jenna g.

My sister and I split a cracked pepper turkey sandwich and mini bistro salad with balsamic dressing. The girl who rang us up was so sweet and helped us decide. The restaurant was clean inside and out. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather under the trees. Great service, great experience. This is a reliable lunch spot!

Well the weather made it soup and Sandwich time. So Sequoia Sandwich Company delivered. We really didn't get soup this visit however the sandwiches and salads that we did try this visit were delicious. We visited at lunch time so it was busy but seating was available and the outdoor seating was plentiful as well. The counter service was okay and we received our meals in good time. The vibe of the place is a local gathering place folks having a great meal and good conversation. Menu is very large with many great selections. We will definitely be visiting again for a light lunch selection. Stop in say hi and enjoy some comfort food. SYOY

Good sandwiches, service is okay, portions are good, prices are decent. Just sandwich spot, simple, nothing exciting.

We have gotten it multiple times due to the location. My MIL likes the squaw bread. But other than that the flavors are mostly a miss for me. The sauce is too much or the saltiness is too much, ratios just aren't quite right for me.... not my favorite. For the price there are plenty of other options. The ambiance is probably what's best about this place. Very comforting and pleasant. But we mostly grab sandwiches to go. 3.5 stars

Macaroni Salad

Since we've had multiple appointments in Clovis, we've been stopping by this place for lunch quite a bit now. We usually go right about when they open so out order is promptly taken and our food comes out quick. I will say, the sandwiches I've ordered have been consistent (tuna and tomato mozzarella panini). If you're craving just an old fashioned sandwich with no frills this is the spot for you.

We enjoyed the fried pickles. And Korean beef francos. Although at regular price, they are a bit much for the small portions. At happy hour it makes a little more sense. Although the sauce is what made the dish. The actual Korean beef was hardly there. The only major disappointment for us was the truffle cheese fries. Even at the happy hour price I wouldn't recommend it. They were just regular fries with a tiny amount of sauce on top. And the cheese sauce always by no means anything special. The drinks (mocktails) are delicious but again overpriced, especially when you consider that it is mostly ice. Overall, good food and worth going again. Although I would likely stick with the burgers and maybe appetizers but only if happy hour. Pass on the upgrades for the fries and no drink.

Food is really good, a little pricey but good. The last 3 Fridays our company have been reserving the outdoor tables and we have to say, our interaction with our favorite waitress ms Sarah has made a big different on how we spend our Fridays now. Not only is she very attentive to our needy group, we love her spunky personality, and appreciate her taking the time to making sure all allergy is top priority (myself nuts, shellfish and dairy). We appreciate happy hour specials and never once prior we had a waitress go through the menu mentioning specials until God sent Ms Sarah. I personally love the seasonal cocktail menu and always excited to try them. What really stood out the most in the last visit being just my husband and our 2 little ones are the little things Ms Sarah does like bringing out stickers for my girls and closed container drinks. Having the crust cut off the grilled cheese for my baby girl and bringing out a surprise birthday sundae for my oldest daughter. Ending the night with my favorite buttercake pudding. The girls went on and on about ms Sarah and how they like her so much and love her beautiful nails. Sunday, i came by for a quick bite with one of my girlfriends, I had an incident where I had order pad Thai and when it arrived to my table, ms Sarah walked up to say hello, she was not our waitress that evening and said "Aren't you allergic to nuts?! Why yes! Yes I am! I don't want to get anyone in trouble for negligence but yes I am deadly allergic to peanuts and the pad Thai is full of peanut sauce. Talk about A CLOSE ONE! My girlfriend and I switch dinner. Long story short, it takes simply less than 10 seconds to ask about an allergy nd like I said, god sent Ms Sarah to the rescue! Beside the close call to heaven, Thank you The point for making your restaurant so special to not only for my business but a happy place for my family. Mostly, I wanted to make this review for ma Sarah for being so good to me and helping me venture out trying new food items and cocktails that I would never myself have tried.

After leaving some feedback through the mobile app, we haven't had any issues since then. Hopefully with the opening of their new location, everyone will go over there lol. The one thing that I will say is such a bummer, especially on the nicer evenings, is that they do not have a dog friendly patio. Even though they have a gorgeous outdoor space, we have to gravitate to places like Annesso's, Mad Duck, and other local favorites to bring our pup with us. I respect their decision, but it's just such a bummer. Absolutely in love with the cashew cauliflower, the brie and loom bread, and the salmon. Servings are plentiful enough where I can easily get another meal out of it. So happy for this place growing and even expanding with their new coffee shop location. It turned out to be such an enjoyable spot to dine, and we really appreciated their effort. Our server, Olive, was absolutely fantastic! She was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Every detail of her service was handled beautifully. A big thank you to Olive for making our evening so enjoyable! As for the food, the pizza was absolutely delicious! Our steak had a wonderful smoky flavor from being cooked over an open flame, although we weren't particularly impressed with the meat itself. The salad and potatoes, however, were excellent. Unfortunately, the chocolate dessert served in a glass was disappointing. I understand the idea of balancing chocolate with salt and pistachios to create a more complex flavor profile, but this dessert was surprisingly not sweet at all. It genuinely tasted like salty chocolate, which I found unpleasant. Definitely not something we enjoyed. One other thing stood out to us from a hospitality perspective. We were seated directly across from the pizza chef and the chef working the open-fire grill, yet neither acknowledged us throughout the evening. Not even a smile, eye contact, or a simple "How's the food?" I completely understand that chefs are focused on cooking and that guest interaction isn't necessarily their responsibility. However, when you're working in an open kitchen with guests sitting right in front of you, a little acknowledgment goes a long way. What made it particularly noticeable was that they were chatting with each other throughout the evening while seemingly ignoring the guests just a few feet away. It felt rather unwelcoming, especially in an otherwise excellent hospitality environment. Overall, we loved the atmosphere, the hostesses were wonderful, Olive provided outstanding service, and most of the food was delicious. A little more guest engagement from the open-kitchen team would make the experience even better.

My wife and I had an amazing experience last night- from the appetizer to our main dishes. Everything was executed just perfectly- I wouldn't change a thing with the food. We started with the arancini, which are deep fried risotto balls with mozzarella and pesto embedded in. These little delights are a must try as they are the perfect blend of creamy , salty and crunchy. For our entrees, we ordered the Margherita pizza and rigatoni with sausage. First of all, the wood fired pizza was cooked perfectly with a nice balance of sweetness from the pizza sauce and crunch factor from the dough. The homemade rigatoni pasta was to die for with the sausage ragu working its magic including a subtle spice added throughout to give it that nice kick of flavor. Well done team Annex! As a Sicilian who grew up on the real stuff, I can tell you that this place hits every mark. 5 stars from me and I can't wait to come back! P.S This isn't fast food- expect to wait a bit.
