I came here during Black Friday, and the store was hectic as expected, but the employees were super helpful. I had tons of employees ask me if I needed help. I wish I caught this employee's name, but she was so helpful in shade matching me for concealer. I wanted the Glossier Stretch concealer, but it was so patchy and dry under my eyes. She recommended the Tower 28 Serum concealer which I absolutely loved! The store was really clean for how crazy full the store was. I was so surprised. I would come back to this Sephora on a regular day and when there's holiday sales. The store is huge, has a big selection of items, and has really helpful employees! read more

"Hi, welcome," the host said while looking the other way as we entered the store. Real warm and inviting, right? "Ask me anything if you have questions..." He repeated that like a broken record, all while his eyes were glued to his phone. Super attentive. Someone bumped my shoulder without so much as a "sorry." I thought it was just a customer caught up in the chaos, but nope! It was their employees. Apparently, one staff member wanted to get all cozy with another, maybe a manager? The tall woman didn't even bother to say excuse me; she just stood there expecting me to move aside, even though there was plenty of space for them to pass. And they weren't even carrying anything! What kind of people are you, anyway? Who are these people? I mean, I'd rather chat with my online Sephora AI agents--they're way more polite and actually helpful! read more

I bought a product from Sephora on May 17 however, my mother passed away on May 24 and I did not have the time for the fourth thought to go before June 21. I googled their return policy in the Internet had said that after 30 days until 60 days, you can get store credit, under 30 days you get a full refund.I explained to the cashier that my mother had recently passed away and she got a manager who told me that their return policy changed two months ago and she's sorry there's nothing she could do. I think this is deplorable in today's age of retail. I will never shop there again. They should have some kind of grace period for customers. I was only four days off. Bad customer service. read more

I go to this Sephora because it's convenient to get in and out quickly. Every time I'm at the Tower 28 section, Vamp is there to help me. Every time. She is sooo sweet and is happy to do color matches. She also wears the product and was able to give her opinion which was very helpful. I was also in the perfume section and a lady who I believe is named Deborah was helping me. She has many years of experience working with perfumes and was able to recommend me some that I might like based on the notes I prefer. She was so kind and spent a lot of time with me as the store wasn't very busy. I was so impressed by her knowledge and hope to see her there again. This store always has great people working there! read more

Went in to get the new Fenty eaze drop stick and let me tell you... this is by far the best Sephora experience I've had. Alisa was super helpful!! She really matched me and matched me perfectly! I was going to get the matte foundation powder to set it. But I told her my skin was more on the dry side and she explained to me that it's better if I get more of a translucent powder and suggested I get a different one. (mind you when it comes to make up, I am clueless) So having Alisa there to explain things to me and match me perfectly was just amazing! Definitely recommend going here, if you need to be matched ask for Alissa! read more

Let me tell you a bit about ROGER! First of all, completely exceed my expectations for my makeup look! I asked for an elevated natural look for my event, and he delivered! But his customer service is where I believe he shined! Every step of the makeup process, he made sure I was comfortable! He taught me how to put on every step of the look for future reference, and explained each product he was using to make sure I really liked it! Roger was super friendly, engaging, and really made this experience an enjoyable one! For all of your makeup needs, or beauty needs (facials, waxing, lip treatments, etc) ROGER is the guy to go to! read more

The staff, so disappointing. Worst customer service. I came here couple of times to get shade match and I tell them I want a certain brand they try a brand that I don't like and the employee got bothered I said I don't want this and she walked away... OokAayY sorry you hate your job. It's not just one employee it's mostly all of them. read more

Worst experience ever. They were short staffed but the store was empty. I always shop there but today the two girls that were working there were extremely rude. Specially one that wear gloves and face mask. You're just am employer and not a nice one. Should not work with the public if you're gonna be rude and cocky read more

Placed an order online paid for partially by gift card and remainder with a credit card. South Coast Plaza has two locations. I went to the wrong one (Bear Street location - my fault). Didn't have time to go to the Bristol Street location that day. Tried calling and was told they could not extend the pickup date, and the order would be cancelled. When I told her I had thrown away the gift card (balance of now zero), was rudely told that I was out of luck by the Manager at Bristol Street location, who would not give me her name. Ended up calling the Customer Service line who was able to assist me and resolve the situation. While I understand and respect a store's policy, even a bad one, and know it is not the manager's fault, the staff at this location needs customer service training and an understanding that without customers, they don't have a job. I will not be supporting this location again and may not purchase from this company. read more

Booked a makeup service with Roger and I was extremely happy with how it went! Roger made me feel very comfortable the whole appointment. I have very sensitive skin and psoriasis so the wrong products can flare everything up easily. I had my makeup done for a outdoor wedding. At the end of the night my makeup still looked flawless despite being in the heat and the next day, for the first time in a while, my skin did not breakout or flare up from wearing makeup all day! I will definitely be booking with Roger again in the future. read more

Service is always so nice here. It's rare for them to not have my products too. Not one for lines either, but it goes by fast and sometimes whoever helps you gets the check out done for you on there hand helds. Take care of that skin, yelpers! read more

This is a review for Roger specifically. I booked a make up appointment with Roger and first and foremost he was able to seat me 30 minutes earlier which was a huge help to by busy morning. Roger is not only incredibly skilled, but he is knowledgeable and warm while remaining professional. Roger listened to all my wants and needs and taught me so many new tricks that I'll carry into my regular practice. Roger is a top MUA and I so badly wish he worked out of LA so I could book him more regularly. If ever in the OC area and in need of looking absolutely flawless, book Roger. read more

I typically don't review beauty stores, but I had a great time with Lily. One of the store associates Lily matched me with the recommended products to achieve my targeted makeup preferences (natural/no-makeup-makeup look). She was knowledgeable and provided me tips-and-tricks about makeup. I'm a total beginner relying on YouTube videos currently, so she was spot on with what I was asking/looking for. She also disinfected and sanitized products before use, but also she whipped up 2/3 samples for me to try at home. Thank you for your time and patience Lily! read more

This review is for the makeup artist Narry... I paid for the $90 full glam makeup for a black tie event. I shared inspo pics of soft brown smokey eye makeup with a glowy face base. I explicitly asked for soft brown, not black, and I also asked for lashes with an invisible band. Instead, what I got was a horrible 2015 style dramatic drag queen style - dark Smokey eyes with a white base and sharp crease lines - and thick black liquid eyeliner, that looked nothing like the soft brown makeup inspo picture. She tried to fix it by adding bronzer to my eye lids The lashes she used on me had a thick visible band that looked even more horrible against the thick black eyeliner. The Foundation and concealer Narry put on my face was 3 shades too light for my skin color. She added more bronzer after the fact but no amount of bronzer could save it. Narry made me look absolutely terrible with drag queen eyes and too light foundation. I ended up going straight home and washing my entire face and re-doing my makeup - thus rushing to my black tie event. Lesson: do not book makeup appt with MUA Narry at this Sephora. read more

If you're looking for a make up artist I would highly recommend Roger (aka Rogelio)!!! He did such a great job bringing my inspo/ vision to life. Please beware of the makeup/ultimate glam services offered here. I went for my baby shower and received the following as a present. Despite booking my appointment three weeks in advance, they called and emailed me to cancel my 'ultimate glam' session due to a staff call-out. A manager named Jessica called me and offered to have a seasoned, as she described them in her voicemail, 'highly skilled and trained' brand artist from Makeup Forever do my makeup. I arrived 10 minutes late because I went to the wrong Sephora location--there are two at South Coast. When I arrived, I connected with my makeup artist, who assured me she had 18 years of experience in the industry. I expressed my preference for a full glam, heavily contoured, and bronzed look, sharing my own inspiration picture. Since I was busy helping with my shower, I didn't check my makeup until later. Despite the complimentary services, the results were disappointing. I didn't have any of my makeup with me, and my lashes fell off within 30 minutes. There were patches of missing makeup. What was worse, associates lied, complimenting my makeup as 'baby shower ready,' which was far from the truth. I'm sharing this to warn others against choosing this place for glam services! read more

uhm...yeah..so I found a pill in the box of my rare beauty blush packaging? lol. I didn't open it until I got home and when I opened the box that fell out. I don't even know what the pill is so it's definitely not mine. The box also has wear and tear like blush stains, rips, and etc. It clearly has been opened before and may have been returned. I should've gotten a nicer one but I was in a rush and the employee who gave me this one was still there. Anyway, if they're going to put out returns they should check the inside of boxes? I'm not sure why someone would just put their pill in some random box in store but hey, people are weird haha three stars for good customer service though! read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. What are the odds that everybody that works in there is so incredibly rude from the cashier who's angry that I won't give her my personal phone number to the make up "artist " angry that I let my daughter look in his mirror without an appointment. There are other make up stores, I suggest you just go to them. Or order online so you don't have to deal with this nonsense. read more

Came here on a busy Friday evening and Shane helped me. Shane came to me right when I was giving up on looking for a new foundation. They found what I was looking for. Givenchy makeup never even crossed my mind! Turns out foundation/skincare is just what this girl in her late 30's needs. Givenchys powders are amazing as well! Gone are the days of matte foundations and drying powders. Shane also found my color so quickly and it is literally the best match I have ever gotten! I have olive skin tone with some rosacea so I find it difficult to get a good color match. Also because my skin is on medium/ darker side, it's hard finding a foundation that doesn't oxidize and turn me orange as the day passes. Shane was extremely helpful in all the ways and I'm so happy with my new products. read more

Ask for Roger. I was having a day...my sweet hub is currently going through treatment for brain cancer and I was taking a short self-care day as a caregiver, trying to replace all my old make up with clean skincare products. Roger took the time to find the best clean products, he gave me a lesson on applying them and even asked for my Husbands name at the end so he could continue to pray for him. What a genuinely nice human. Thank you Roger for making my day a little lighter and brighter. The products were amazing too. I hope goodness comes your way. read more

TLDR: Jonathan is such a sweetheart! He went way above and beyond with helping me on two occasions. Cris was also great with helping me try different perfumes based on my preferences. HERE WE GO: I've had credit card issues since October 2020 and it's the most annoying thing. I lost my credit card in the mail after my application process, so I was actually fined around $80 I think...got that waived to an extent by Comenity, the banking service, but I think I still owed $15 or $20 for the issue. Really peeved by that because it wasn't my fault. Anyways, because I "missed" my first payment, even though I wasn't my fault, my credit card was put on a freeze til March. Extremely frustrating cause I do most of my shopping from Sephora during their seasonal promos, esp around Christmas. So basically I lost out on all the 8% back promos; 4-5% back for general Sephora use (I wouldn't know cause I generally don't reap the benefits). Sephora has sent me a couple replacement credit cards but none of them work still. It's May 2021, past the reassured March date of when my card won't be frozen..Jonathan was so sweet and he extended himself, offering to call into comenity on my behalf. I hate calling comenity...I was on the phone with them for 30 mins on 2 occasions prior, so it was really amazing that he'd be willing to bite the bullet for me. He also gave me some samples to compensate for my time and troubles, which I thought was very kind. Overall, huge store. Getting samples made in the past would be a pain but now that samples aren't a thing, and covid is in place...the store is bustling but not overwhelmingly busy. It's nice to be able to leisurely shop at a Sephora. Testers are now accessible too! Side note: I spent a lot last year and was hoping to really save my points as a Rouge member, but all their complimentary perks for in store makeovers etc got removed. You have to pay for the service now. I'm not sure if spending so much will be worthwhile at Sephora anymore. You can get a lot more gifts at Nordstrom and Macy's...they didn't really do that many rouge or vib promos til the beginning of this year. Now there's a decent amount but honestly, everything good tends to be claimed too fast. Their supply for their valued members limited.. read more

This is one of the largest Sephora locations closest to me and they offer a variety of brands and products under one roof. Located on the first floor by Bloomingdales and across from Corner Bakery, you can park in a surface lot or the nearby structure for easy access. During the current events, the staff have done a great job with handling safety precautions. All of them are wearing masks and they have clear floor markers to indicate 6 ft/2 m social distancing. Testers are not available at this time, except for staff to swatch on their skin to show you a product. They also limit the number of people in the store at a time, but they do a great job with handling the line. The staff who allow and limit customers inside are all very friendly and happy to answer questions. I've gone in for a few times to look for holiday gifts that I needed to give/safely hand off to friends. The team have been helpful each time I asked for recommendations or had questions. Sometimes the stock is low in things or I've noticed a few products that have sun protection in them are close to expiration or are expired. I'm guessing the latter has to do with the fact that this location was closed for months during the worst of the pandemic and unfortunately, they are starting to get around to removing the expired items from the shelves. (I had to return a lip balm with SPF in it and the girl took it back with no questions. She made a note to check the other units out on the floor and apologized for the inconvenience.) If you prefer to not shop in store or wait for items to ship, this location does order pick-up. They have a separate line for those picking up their orders and you need to show your order number either on your phone or printed out, along with a government-issued ID. They have a shelf with the orders and someone will grab your order for you, then you'll pay for the order, before going on about your day. read more

This review is for Andy - 5 stars all around! It was a busy Saturday evening at Sephora and I was looking for a moisturizer and foundation. I typically don't wear makeup but I have my wedding coming up and needed makeup advice ASAP. Andy came up to me and offered the best customer service! I described my concerns and he collaborated with another associate before recommending what products would be best for my skin. He described what each product offers and did a color match (for foundation). I really appreciate his patience and guidance so much that I asked when he would be working again next week. Hate this Sephora. So many employees but no one helps you unless you look pretty or rich. I get it we are at all nice "expensive" mall but the girls and gays don't help you unless you look like you can afford more than one thing. Just rude attitude from workers too.
