Came in to do a shade match. This is by far the best Sephora I've been to, across multiple states and countries! I'm darker skinned and have an oily face, and expressed my need to have a foundation and concealer that will last. Geeta (sp?) hooked me up with the new hourglass foundation which is amazing. She really listened to all of my concerns and picked awesome products for me as far as coverage and contouring. She even made sure I was applying it correctly so I can create the same effect at home. It was another 108 degree day here, and my make up didn't budge!!! Also, they basically watched my baby so I could get my make up done. A friend and I actually came to this location a couple months back looking to do the shade match. We put our names on the list, she started with my friend first. She gave her a decent treatment but didn't seem to really give her any advice or answer her questions that she had. It wasn't busy at all. When she was finished with her, I assumed it was my turn. Nope, wrong. She told me she didn't have time to do mine because she had other people waiting. My name was on the list. We were actually there for almost 30-45 mins while she helped my friend. I was never matched, and my questions weren't answered. I initially told her I was interested in BareMinerals and her response was "ew why". I don't see why it matters to you, but there are better ways of saying things, especially when it comes to selling a product? I actually ended up going to the BareMinerals store upstairs after that, and got a full treatment and all of the questions I had were answered. The only person who has actually given me the time of day was Rachel, and that was like 9 months ago when I was looking for a new face product. She was really helpful. I rarely go to Sephora anymore. That girl is the main reason why. Their customer service is just terrible. Not sure if it's just this location, but they usually have more than enough associates working and no one even offers to help you, let alone greet you. I would feel more compelled to buy something with the help, but I'm in and out with little to nothing when I'm ignored. Basically if your face isn't caked with makeup, they don't care to help you. WISH I COULD GIVE THIS ZERO STARS! I was just happily shopping yesterday when I overheard this employee whisper in her mic a description of what I was wearing and next thing you know I had worker after worker suddenly come up to me and ask me if I needed help. I am not joking I HAD 6 EMPLOYEES COME UP TO ME IN THE SPAN OF LITERALLY 2 MINUTES! After I said no to all 6 employees because I didn't need any help, I overheard another employee whisper "black tank top and Grey leggings" into their mic! How unprofessional! As I kept shopping on this dumb blonde employee was following me and pretending to organize a shelf when she obviously wasn't doing crap. Throughout my experience all I saw was the Sephora employees whispering to eachother and making fun of people in the mic which is very very disrespectful. SO SO DISSAPOINTED read more

Danielle the manager totally helped me out. Incredible customer service. I bought an expensive cologne on the east coast about a month ago and didn't use it until recent. When I tried spraying it for the first time I noticed the spray mechanism in the bottle was broke. I brought it in and explained my situation to her and she was so understanding and made my day. I generally make my visits to Sephora under 5 minutes because I always purchase the same thing. This time I had a new hair color and needed help matching products for my eyebrows. This location used to be fairly good. Now customer service is inconsistent...assistance in a polite and helpful manner (to be expected) is truly hit or miss. It's common to see workers (a group or 3 or 4 in their black Sephora outfits) congregating in the rear of the store near a door, which I assume leads to the storage/break area of the store. If you make eye contact with one of them (very rare...they're discussing something or someone verrrry important), you get a big cheesy fake smile and "are you finding what you need?" I find this store to be disorganized. The little shopping baskets need to be sanitized. I'll go back to the Scottsdale store, or if I'm in a hurry Ulta is looking more and more attractive to me. read more

I love Sephora. The associates are always friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They know the perfect colors for my skin type and for any occasion I am attending. They explain how to put on the product and what makes the product special. The products are expensive, but they last for a very long time. I think Sephora in general sells nice products of course but that is not what this review is about. I have several times been to this specific Sephora and someone is rude or does not have a positive attitude toward customers. I had a worker at Sephora snap at me and tell me not to play with a mirror when I was showing my friend how to use it and how great it is for applying makeup. The woman was very rude. I think she did this because of my age because she called both my friend and I young ladies while glaring but I am 18 and look younger than I am. This isn't my first bad experience at this Sephora and I have been to other Sephora's and their staff have been a lot nicer and I feel like other Sephora's have had better service. I'm just really disappointed because I was having fun and showing my friend how to apply makeup and what products where good and that lady was rude and ruined the experience for us both. read more

I've gone in there a couple times, and everyone is usually helpful and friendly. It's a smaller Sephora and they get slammed with customers sometimes. I've been there when the store is packed with customers and only two sales associates on the floor, and they still try to help out customers as much as they can. The assistant manager Carla is very good. I called the store with a concern, and she was so professional in her reception. I'd definitely go back again. read more

I had purchased the. .... Sephora pallet a while back and ran out of my two favorite colors. Ran in here yesterday afternoon after picking the kids up at school to see if I could buy full size versions of them. So I walk in and two young ladies were at the door chatting, didn't say hello, didn't offer assistance, nothing. So I made my way back to the Sephora brand stuff and tried looking for the shades. After about 5-10 minutes I finally had someone pass and ask if I needed help with anything. I told her what I was looking for and she immediately said that she would get a make-up artist to help me. What is the point of having those three ladies as employees? They didn't accomplish much in terms of customer service. But here's where thing take a drastic turn for the better. Carrie the make-up artist was sent to me. After searching the original colors we were able to find one similar color. Ok, I'm on a budget and having one is better than none. But Carrie was not satisfied with mediocrity. She told me to hang on and she went in the back. She came back with several options that we're all very similar to the original AND half the price! I ended up leaving with both colors I went in looking for and because of the fantastic Miss Carrie, I stayed way under my meager $15 budget. Carrie completely gets that a girl can enhance her beauty while sticking to a budget. AND even though my birthday had been 2 weeks ago she still gave me the birthday freebie. Overall: the girls at the entrance and walking around holding baskets but not offering them out to customers are useless. Carrie, however, is a godsend! I drive 20 minutes to get my make-up products from Sephora because they have the best and most helpful staff and an amazing selection of brands. They are always excited and willing to show me new techniques, products and teach me more about makeup! I have also gotten countless makeovers here for events and they NEVER disappoint. I had Alexis help me out today. I am allergic to life since my cancer and she was beyond amazing in helping me find the right brand for my skin and colormatched me. She even demonstr how to apply it all and in what order. She then took me onto the floor and showed me some blush and where the new brand I was getting was at so I could look at the full product line. She was really helpful and knowledgeable. All I wanted was a recommendation for a foundation for dry skin because I'm not liking the one I have currently. She proceeded to ask me about my skin care routine and basically told me it's not good enough (mind you, I'm very into makeup/skincare so it frustrated me that she said that), and asked me if I want someone from skincare to help me. I said no, and she had someone help me anyway. I just wanted a foundation recommendation. The guy who helped me next was standoffish, and kept giving me false information. He put a foundation on me that was probably 4 shades too light, he caked it on and rubbed it in with his hands. I completely agreed before with the comments about snarky and rude employees but I just went today to try SAMPLES of things for my over dry face and the fact that I have spent hundreds of dollars the last few months trying to change it. Tonight has changed my mind about the staff. They were so incredibly nice and tried tons of different products to help me better my skin and with the help, honesty and knowledge the women there had, I spent a couple hundred more than I wanted. But I would do it all over again. Sumi was the one who helped me the most and if you ever get the chance to meet her, let her help you because she is beyond knowledgeable and will tell you why your skin is doing what it is doing. She isn't just an employee she travels to different states to train people. She has made me so much more confident with my face and I could not thank her enough. A few other girls helped me and I wish I had gotten there names but I am so in love with this store and these employees. It would be awesome if they could find a happy medium between asking me every minute if I need help and chatting with each other while there is a huge line and I actually have questions. I was so happy with my experience today in the store! It's that time of year again when my foundation no longer matches my skin color because my summer glow is now gone. I asked a worker to be color matched because I could never do it on my own. She put me on a list since they were busy and later Karen met up with me and help color match me and we found the most perfect foundation match for my skin. It was everything I was looking for. But I am super picky when it comes of my foundation because I have very sensitive skin so I like to try it out of a few days to see how it wears and also I make sure my skin doesn't have a bad reaction. Karen made me super comfortable that I wasn't purchasing that day. Some other times with other workers before, I felt pressured to buy that day. I was so impressed by her that later when my mom met me at the mall and told me she wanted some new foundation, we went back to the store and I sought out Karen so that she could help my mom. She was so nice to her and helped her with everything she was looking for. My mom ended up buying foundation, the same brush that Karen used while sampling the foundation on my moms face, mascara, and two different types of eyeliner :) we will definitely be back! read more

Worst sephora I've ever been in. I have been a bib rouge client since the level first began and literally spend thousands of dollars annually in sephora mainly through their online app. I searched for a good 15 minutes to try and locate my face cream and wen shampoo. I asked three employees for help and all looked at me snootily and informed me they were busy with other clients right now. I just wanted them to point me in the right direction. Not stop assisting the customer they were with. I finally got someone to pause for 2.2 seconds when I asked where the Wen shampoo is, who said "oh we stopped carrying that". I was never greeted or asked if I needed help a single time in the store and I was there for a good 20 minutes. When I got to the cashier I asked if they stopped carrying Wen due to the lawsuit and she literally sneered at me and said "I have no clue". Ok. She then rang up my $170 worth of products and then asked me if I was a beauty insider. I said yes and gave her my number, which she said they're having issues with, and couldn't find me. Gave her my name and had to spell it 4 times before she typed it in correctly. Ugh! Not a thank you. Not a have a man crush day. Not a eff you. I will NEVER go into this store again. read more

I admit that I can be a makeup junkie. I love trying new products and I often spend a LOT of money here. I do research relentlessly before purchasing a new product because I want to know that I will likely be satisfied. I'm already very knowledgeable about most of the products due to research or testing, but I am always surprised how knowledgeable the staff is if I have a question about a product. They often have a large staff at any time that can help you when you need it and they are more than happy to help. They are very liberal with giving free samples if you kindly ask, and often throw extras in your bag when you make a purchase; most Sephora stores I have been to are not nearly as generous. Naturally, Sephora has one of the best return policies I've seen in a business, which is why Sephora in growing in success. As with any Sephora, this store is very clean and very organized. The only thing that can be upsetting at times is stock quantity uncertainty. Higher demanded products are sold out quickly and most times I have to wait a couple weeks before they restock particular items. I think that's more of a manufacturing or distribution problem, not necessarily a store problem. read more

Staff is RUDE & not helpful! I've been to this location numerous times out of pure convenience but today will be my last. The staff is rude and will walk past and around you multiple times and not once ask if you need assistance. There have also been occasions when I've literally stood in a department waiting for assistance that never came. Today I attempted to exchange an item I received over the holidays and was told I could not because it had been opened (duh, how else was I supposed to know I didn't want it) and then the 3 snooty girls at the register told me I could exchange it for an item worth MORE than the actual item I was exchanging. What kind of post-holiday policy is that? When I asked the associate when this new policy took affect she literally said, "just now". Just give the customer a gift card or tell them they loose out if the new item is less than the original item but to try to make money off of a holiday gift exchange is wrong!! read more

Pretty awesome store =) The employees don't heckle or goad you into buying things like I've experienced in many other Sephoras. They leave you alone(unless you ask for their help of course) and let you peruse the store in peace. Also, they didn't treat me like an ignorant, immature, little kid like they do in many other Sephoras. It's like, um dude, I'm 14? Not 4. Don't look at me and say "That Make Up For Ever #171 iridescent acid green eyeshadow is too much for you..." After looking at various eyeshadows and lipsticks, I ended up buying a bottle of Urban Decay Primer Potion. I originally wanted to buy a Kat Von D Adora Palette, but they didn't have it =/ Their selection isn't too spectacular, but they have many of the most desirable brands. Shauna asked me if I needed help and she was so incredibly kind and took so much time to help me find a lip color, several eye liners and a tinted moisturizer. I don't usually wear makeup so I really know very very little about it. First we started with a lip color and she asked detailed questions about what I wanted. Then she helped me try on samples and based on how I felt about each color she adjusted her next suggestion. I ended up getting a great lip color. Then we moved to eye liner. She showed me so many different colors and thicknesses and asked what kind of look I was going for. After she helped me pick out several she took it upon herself to show me how to apply it in a multitude of ways. First, Shauna showed me how to apply eye liner to the waterline. She did hers first and then I applied it to myself. Wow! It looked so cool. I got two thin, waterproof eyeliners just for this purpose. Then she showed me how to apply outside the waterline on the bottom with a brown shade. It looked really cool and would be perfect for an easy everyday look. After that she showed me how to apply the eye liner to the top lid. Holding the eye taut and holding the eye liner horizontal were all new to me! The way that she showed me to apply the eyeliner was so easy and I felt confident that I could do it myself at home especially because she let me try on my own while in the store and then she would add a little bit more thickness or help me fix it up. She also showed me how to start with a little winged tip and I've been wanting to try that for ages! Next, Shauna did the color IQ for me and after trying a few brands, I settled on NARS tinted moisturizer to try since I already use NARS concealer. She showed me how to put it on too. The next day I was able to recreate the look using the Sephora VIB rouge brush that was given as a gift this year. I moistened it with spray that I have from Urban Decay as I saw Shauna moisten the brush and the application was flawless. Shauna really turned around a bad experience at the JC Penny Sephora location and even went above and beyond any customer service I was expecting. Shauna helped me pick out five products and I'm so happy with everything that I purchased thanks to her taking the time to let me sample things and show me how to use them.
