I walked into the store this evening to try on the new bare mineral complexion rescue hydrating foundation stick SPF 25 that just came out this month and was clueless on which color to match my skin tone. Jessica went above and beyond to assist me with all my needs. She was extremely kind, PATIENT, caring and helpful. I always enjoy walking into this Sephora location, but this time was approached by a beautiful soul. I was in the store for about an hour and Jessica came to the rescue. She truly is a gem for this store. I can tell how genuine she truly is to help beautify her customers. I am a loyal customer to this location because the services I receive here throughout the years, but Jessica elevated this experience this evening. BTW, I highly recommend the complexion rescue stick for those looking for a cleaner makeup that has a natural radiant medium coverage. I removed my makeup and my skin is glowing. Sephora slowly suck me into customer loyalty ever since it opened up in Cerritos Mall. I usually buy perfumes, moisturizer, and cleanser, but also come here when I need make up for special occasions (I'm not really big on make up). Unlike Ulta, they have a customer loyalty card, of which I have recently became a VIB. :) As other reviews have said, I've never actually received a sample at the cash register which is why I prefer to shop online when I can (soooo many more freebies). It's really convenient that this location usually has in stock whatever isn't available online. As for customer service, the worst I've experienced was having to search around the store for a worker to help me get samples, and once she was done filling the capsules, she just left. Other associates have been helpful in helping me match my foundation, finding products, and making recommendations. No attitude problems for me so far. read more

This location has definitely improved. The staff have improved as well. Going during the week helps a lot with the quality of the store, it isn't worth it to go on weekends. The staff are also very nice and generous with samples of products. I walked in with my book bag and a Clarisonic to return. The lady at checkout hesitated to look at me because she knew I was returning. She finally called me over and asked me 21 questions. I went back to look for products I needed and left my exchange behind the counter. Employees on the floor harassed the crap out of me asking if I needed help everywhere I turned. Then I noticed... IT WAS MY BOOK BAG. They thought I was stealing?! Ruuuude. I went back to the cashier and she asked me another 21 questions and then some. She was trying to convince me to keep the product. NOOOOOOO. Don't you get it? She gave up and processed my transaction. Was it because I was Hispanic and young? She never offered any samples (which most do). TO TOP IT OFF... As I walked out of the store, an employee stopped me while another rushed to the shoplifting sensor. He fiddled with it and it sounded as soon as I walked out. Seriously, the ONLY reason I'm giving this place a 5 star review is because of one associate, Nubia. I was greeted in the store and originally helped by a gentleman (who wasn't really that helpful) who then passed me off to Nubia. I originally just went in looking for a contour palette but ended up buying way more. Nubia was SUPER helpful and listened to what I was looking for and gave me her honest opinion. Seriously, I've been in the customer service / sales field my whole life and am usually repulsed by reps at retail stores but this gal took the cake. I usually meet a few people who are very helpful and really nice at this Sephora, which was always the cashiers. The ones on the floor, Total jerks!!! Today was the worst, rude employees that ignored and act like they didn't hear me asking for help. All I wanted to know if they have a certain item in stock and which 2 foundation is better. That was it. All I got, acting like I didn't exist and was an uncouth. It was honestly empty. This woman walk past me and ignored me a few times and ask someone else they need help. I thought it was my imagination but nope, she clearly did not want to help me. I had no make up on since i want to swatch some foundation but I still dress presentable besides my face looking like shit. 2 others reacted the same but not as continuous as her. I tried to let my poor experience at this location go, but it was really bothering me so I decided to share. I went in today to get help for a photo shoot I was going to. The girl I asked for help said she had a reservation, but if they didn't show up I could take their place. Sure enough the appt. didn't show, but when she asked her manager about sliding me in, she told her no because she needed her for floor coverage. I was immediately irritated because it would have been the same thing if the appt. actually came in. The girl was super sweet though and offered to still try to help me as she kept an eye on the floor. As we got started, her manager literally called her every 5 minutes, asking her to help other people or to move to other parts of the store. I could understand if she was the only one working, but there were 3 or 4 other associates floating around asking people if they needed help. The girl that was helping me was great though, she apologized every time she got pulled away and was still doing a great job of capturing the look I was going for. I continued to be patient, but at one point the associate started apologizing profusely, saying that her manager assigned her to do someone else's makeup. I tried to be understanding, but I was really bummed that I was just kind of left hanging and we didn't get to finish my look. Nonetheless, I still bought the items she had already suggested, spending almost $200. Like I said, I tried to let it go but I'm a customer just like everyone else in the store and I feel like the managers actions were rude and disrespectful. Had I made a reservation, I would have only needed to spend $50. If the manager had let the associate help me and finish the look, I would have spent well over the $200 that I did today. I visited this store yesterday looking to try out some new foundations. A kind associate helped to shade match me and picked out a foundation formula well suited for my skin type. I asked to also look at some skin care, specifically a good moisturizer. She walked me to the back of the store and introduced me to Dennis who was a rep and skincare expert. This is where my day turned around for the better. Dennis asked if I had time for a mini facial. I was killing time waiting for my car to be serviced at a nearby dealership so I thought, why not? Dennis proceeded to sit me down and he pulled about 8 products from the shelves to use for my particular skin type. Dennis was so kind, warm, friendly and wonderful!! I can't say enough good things about him. He took the time to explain his goal for my skin and how each product he used would help to improve my skin. He removed my makeup, cleansed the skin, toned, applied a mask, serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, and even reapplied my makeup when he was done so I didn't have to walk around with a bare face. It certainly did not feel like a mini facial...it was on par or even better than facials I've paid a pretty penny for. I felt so pampered and beautiful and truly saw a drastic improvement in my skin by the end of my session with him. My skin was so much brighter and smoother in just 1 session...I just had to go home with a few Sunday Riley products he used! Thank you Dennis for the fun experience. I came in to have a custom makeover done for a concert that I was attending and I specifically wanted a burgundy/red color scheme with an ombre lip. My makeup artist name is Hailey. When she met me she was very welcoming. She asked me about my event which let me know she was interested in making sure she did a great job. I was attending a public event and wanted my makeup to last throughout the night. I don't really care for natural looking makeup when I'm going out to have fun. I'm more flamboyant and dramatic! She did my makeup exactly as I pictured it to be. She was very energetic, humorous, professional, and knowledgeable. Needless to say, my face was absolutely gorgeous and I received many compliments at my event. My makeup lasted the entire night and I hated to remove it because the look was simply beautiful. I typically go to ULTA out of convenience, but I'm shopping for a bridesmaid dress and decided to enure the pre-holiday hell at the mall today. I keep my everyday beauty routine pretty simple: a little bit of Benefit's "They're Real" mascara and a dusting of Bare Minerals. I'm nearly out of both, so I stopped by Sephora to pick some up. My skin fluctuates shades from semi-tan to albino white depending on the season, so I wanted to make sure I picked out the right powder color for my current skin tone (didn't want to look like an Oompa Loompa or anything!). A salesperson named Desiree was super sweet and helped me pick out a Bare Minerals shade that blended in perfectly with my skin. She didn't try to push a bunch of products on me and had a really great attitude about her job. Based on the previous reviews, maybe she's an anomaly at this location. I dunno if it's the pro-licensed beauty in me but something strange in the universe doesn't want me to join or sign up for this store. My sister loves this store but that's cause she only has access to retail, not wholesale like me. I really want to like this place as I hear lots of good things about it but my wallet and my CA pro beauty cosmetology license prefers to shop at Cosmoprof, Saloncentric, online beauty mags, etc... Every time I go in here the gals really do try, they ask if I have a card, I show them my card, they say it's old or needs to be updated, so they 'guarantee' they will put me in their computer system, only to not receive anything or updates through my email/slow mail. No information whatsoever. I've even tried signing up online myself cause these salesgirls are probably overwhelmed doing 20 other things at once and forget or lose your info in the trash but Sephora, your bullshit damn website is bootleg too, doesn't understand my simple street home address etc... this is 2016 so it should be as fresh as your makeup products? This is the Sephora I usually go to for all the basics- skincare (cleanser+moisturizer), foundation, mascara, etc. I have never had an issue with not having my routine products in stock, even with how busy this location is. This location becomes a zoo during the weekend, which is annoying if you just want to quickly grab something and leave. Despite the crowds and tedious lines, the employees are always friendly, calm, and very helpful! I'll continue being a faithful customer! read more

I have never really thought writing a review for sephora was necessary, but this time, is much different. I have been shopping at Sephora for the last 10 years (VIB rouge just about every year)... I RARELY get anyone who approches me at this or any other location offering to help. Personally, I dont need help- only because my skin is so allergic and sensitive, and my make-up needs are so picky, I really dont want to burden anyone with my issues. I'm more of a 'trial-and-error' person. Today was different... I walked in and was greeted and immediately approcahed my a woman not in a sephora uniform... She was dressed casual and helped me with hair care. She was great. I feel terrible that I didn't get her name. :( BUT- my highlight was at check out. I greatly applaud sephora for hiring transgender people. The girl who helped me was prettier than everyone in the room, in looks and personality. Completely made my day. I am THRILLED to see this... This location is the closest one to my house, but usually the customer service sucks, almost everyone that works there avoid eye contact, forget greetings!! No eye contact!! I frequently visit this establishment because I am beauty OBSESSED. It is usually well stocked and they keep things pretty clean. I have made a friend at this location named Danielle because we have a similar skin type. She has helped me come to many good decisions when buying makeup, and constantly answers any questions I have for her. The manager Sal is also an exemplary employee, very friendly and helpful to everyone and I enjoy conversing with him.
