Honestly, my friend and I just wanted a cute girls' day out, but this Marshalls literally ruined the entire mood. We were racially profiled An employee basically accused us of stealing because of an "empty" hanger which wasn't even empty, the shirt was just tangled behind another one. It was so awkward and embarrassing. We were followed around the store the whole time, and the vibes at checkout were just trash. The lady was so passive-aggressive, asking "Is everything okay?" in the snarkiest tone, and she literally tried to peek inside my friend's purse while she was just trying to get her wallet out to pay! Then, as we were walking out, we heard her say "they left the store" into her walkie.Like, we literally just spent money here! It was so weird and uncomfortable. I like going to various Marshall's when ever I have time. I like to browse there store and course I find items I really like.

I've been going to this location for years as I love shopping here with my mom. However, I felt like I was profiled by one of the workers and followed by another younger one. A dress I tried on was on a hanger that looked like it should've been a set so I didn't get it and the worker acted as if I stole the other item but I explained that's why I put it back due to the missing piece. I could hear them over the headset! Such an uncomfortable experience! From now on I will be going to the Marshall's in Cypress that always has great customer service where the workers don't have bad attitude and watch you while you shop, so disappointed. read more

3/25/23 Honestly, I just went in to use their facilities That didn't stop me from looking around & seeing potential items of interests-for the next time when hubby isn't hurrying me up! Where has customer service gone? Women have lots of power to affect the economy it's time we start talking about this! I went to the store to return some Tommy Bahama beach towels that started to fall apart at the edges after I washed them once! Since, they no longer carried that brand of beach towel & I couldn't locate my email receipt, nor were the tags on any longer, the manager stated that they could not offer me an in-store credit or a return credit. She did suggest I call other Marshalls to see if they have the towels and then I would be able to return them there (because they could look up the item number). However, this is not true. I called several Marshalls and the one location that had the Tommy Bahama towels told me that unless I found that identical pattern in the store myself, (not just the Tommy Bahama brand beach towel) they could not offer me a return. Amazon is taking over the market and if these stores don't change their policies, all of these people working there will be out of jobs and all these stores will close. read more

Very busy location, offering moderate discounts on everything from clothing to shoes, home accessories, even foodstuffs like nutty snacks, perfumes, makeup, sunblock, luggage and purses. Dressing room has an attendant, but I did not see her. I did follow the 10 items only rule but she called me out for walking into the room without her permission. lol. I feel that some clothing may be fast fashion: not great materials and some lesser quality fabric. You might find an occasional department store brand but most are made overseas like India or Pakistan. I would not buy baby food or pet food stuff here. Several cash register stations, all along two rows of last minute deals like sunblock and snacks. The lady who rang up my items was quite helpful. It might be a set script but she asked if everything went well with my choices, and expressed genuine concern when I said it could have been better. Tells me she was actually listening! read more

After recently starting a new job, I switched from another well known off-price retail chain and started shopping at Marshalls. I was looking for some professional office attire. I found beautiful brand-name clothing and footwear, at lower prices than traditional retail stores. Marshalls' carries high end and affordable brands with the selections constantly changing as they restock regularly. Being a senior citizen I was a bit disappointed that Marshalls doesn't have a nationwide senior discount program. I guess I shouldn't be greedy since I am getting great prices on great products! read more

Came to this store to kill time, on new year's day. The staff here have managed to clean their store up incredibly well! I have not seen a store this clean in such a long time! Store associates were very helpful and welcoming. They are enforcing face covering rules and shopping restrictions, including limiting store capacity. They have arrows on the ground to guide customers through the store, that encourages social distancing. They also had a huge selection of clearance items, laid out on 4-5 tables in the back of the store; well worth the visit! read more

I am surprised about the poor reviews. For one, the entire area is seriously lacking good shopping, hence my need to come to Marshalls, nothing better in the area. The store, while older is clean, well stocked, nice staff. My husband got some great designer shirts for around $20 each and I got a $300 Alice & Olivia sweater reduced from $300 to $25, really how can I not be a fan??? Hint: Purple tags are the good stuff, the clearance rack there is where its at! read more

I came here towards the end of the summer season. I found lots of summer tops here that were not overpriced at all and most of them were even red tagged. They had tons of racks to look through and the checkout line went pretty fast. There was a big enough parking lot and I really didn't have any problems here. Not the best stock store and they really need to make a bigger effort of keeping the place neat. I often times find the toys all over the place. The lines do tend to go fast though. So if you see a long line, don't let that scare you off. It's located near several great stores so it's worth a shot. read more

Was totally shocked and disappointed by the type of customer service my wife received. My wife was trying on clothes on Sunday 2/12/17 at approximately 3PM and each time she came out of the fitting room the fitting room attendant insisted that she had to check each garment to make sure the tags were on them. Once my wife found some items she liked, she gave back the items she didn't want to the fitting room attendant and kept the few items she wanted. The fitting room attendant said she had to check the garments my wife was taking to the cashiers to make sure the tags were still on the garments. My wife explained to the fitting room attendant that she had already checked the garments before in her previous search when my wife came out of the dressing before. The fitting room attendant then became rude and insisted again to check the garments and that she had to touch and check everything. As if my wife wanted to steal something. My wife then waited outside near the fitting rooms to see if anyone else was being treated as rudely as she was. The fitting room attendant didn't check anyone else's garments within the fitting room. This attendant said nothing to the other customers. We just moved to the City of Lakewood. Basically right around the corner from this store. I must say this is extremely poor customer service and this fitting room attendant should be coached and retrained on customer service. Is this the type of service that minorities can expect from this location? Does the Store Manager condone this type of behavior? Is this something Marshall's Corporate is okay with? read more

I was very disappointed in my shopping venture here yesterday. I went to two marshalls by my house and all of the Christmas items were an extra 50% off. When I came to this one they were not. The cashier said they (their Marshall in particular) doesn't do that and the clearance tag on an item is the lowest they can give it for. When I told her other ones near me were doing it she didn't say anything. I was on another quest to find flat shoes for a filing gig, and all the way from Norstrom to Bodell's, I was having no luck (nor was $45 to $65 for simple flats on my budget so it's a good thing none of the expensive shoes fit.) In a fit of shoe madness, I decided I would just drowned my sorrows in Churches fried chicken, but my car just turned on it's own into the Marshalls parking lot. I figured what could it hurt if I put off the chicken therapy until after I went to yet another flat-shoeless-store, maybe I'll find a coffee cup I like. Probably the first Marshall's I've ever been to. A bit shabby but well organized. Nothing strewn on the floor or anything. They have a pretty large selection of women's clothing. My favorites (home & shoes) are small but I tend to find stuff. I'm assuming since the folks who frequent this location don't care for my style?. But always a good idea to swing by to stock up on essentials.. Towels, cotton Tshirts, socks. Today, I scored a Junior Drake leather tote (retail $400) for $120, it was marked down twice. I gawked at it, and hurriedly purchased it.. Along with couple sets of Nautica undershirts, memory foam bath mats (yes, plural), and a kiddy toy. I've never been a fan of marshalls. And today's visit confirmed as to why. The workers have no sense of customer service awareness. No greetings. Bad faces and bad presentations. I get that department stores are high on shoplifting, but me and my sister walked in today and mind you I'm in scrubs and she's in her work clothes, and right away an older lady clung to us through out the store I wish I had gotten her name I was more than ready to leave all our finds and walk away. At one point she peered into my sisters purse. Once again I get it. They get shoplifters gallore. But maybe if she had attempted to greet us and engage us she would have seen we were not up to anything bad. Hopefully they get some lessons so in business. The bath and bedding items were kind of limited and dishevelled. Disappointing because that is what I came for. They actually have a pretty good selection of doggy playthings (located in the very back corner). Last night we were doing some Christmas shopping here. As we were walking in There were 2 guys dressed very Christmassy riding around on these cool one wheeled hoverboards playing Christmas music for everyone going in & out of the stores. As far as I could tell they weren't even taking donations. They were just spreading some Xmas cheer. Something I think we all sorely need right now. They were riding up & back in front on all of the stores here in this lot. Home Goods, Centinela, Alan Party, Chase Bank, Sprouts, Harbor Freight, Legend Hot Wings, & more. We were all loving it, as we have to wait out side to go into some of these stores & it was nice to hear & see some positive Christmas spirit. It was not Marshall's parking lot only. Yet, the manager here at Marshall's decided he did not like or appreciate the positivity & cheer being spread so he came outside to yell at & tell those 2 guys they could NOT do that in front of Marshall's. They weren't sitting in front of Marshall's begging, they weren't even stopped. They were riding by. All of the other businesses were loving it. People were so stopping & slowing down to sing along, & even film these guys, Some of the workers at Sprouts were out singing with them, yet here at Marshall's they want to ruin everyone's Christmas. That was terrible. We're not going back there & we're spreading the word locally that Marshall's does NOT LIKE CHRISTMAS CHEER, so maybe we should spend our Christmas dollars somewhere else. Get a clue guys. We're in the middle of a rough year. This is stuff society needs to see. & the management at Marshalls is on such a power trip they just feel the need, nay, the responsibility to just want to yank it away from all of us. I came here over the weekend to find some new work flats. Compared to other Marshalls locations I've been too, this one feels a bit smaller and more cramped. I think this location advertises a "Shoe Mega Shop" but the shoe department isn't very well organized and doesn't have a wide selection. The clearance section for shoes was almost empty and when I was browsing through the flats, I noticed that they had a lot of shoe boxes underneath that weren't on display. So I had to pick through each shoe box to look at other styles. It could be improved. Other than that, I didn't get to browse through much of the rest of the store. My mom did pick up a 12 cup muffin baking pan with a lid enclosure for $15. Oh and FYI, the women's restroom does not lock. So be careful! read more

Found an baby item I liked in the clearance section and it didn't have a tag. It was also the only one of its kind. Which was a bummer. When I got to the front of the line (mind you I have a toddler who is antsy and impatient) I told the woman it was in the clearance section and had no tag. She said ok and 'the manager' went to find a price. When she came back she just threw out a price ( a high one) and I asked based on what? The associate shows me an item nothing like mine! She then proceeded to tell me the 'manager' picks items she thinks are the same price. Wt?! What kind of logic is this??? This place is ran by a bunch of high schoolers so be prepared and only pick items with prices. read more

I mainly come here to find discounts on athletic wear. I don't really find it necessary to spend a ton of money on athletic gear when you can find just as good if not adequate quality clothing here. If you're looking for cheaper clothes that isn't second used like a thrift store. I definitely recommend coming here! read more

They are bright, clean, well lit, have a stool and plenty of hooks and places for hangers. They should be the model for all fitting/dressing rooms! I have experienced awful customer service the last two times I visited this Marshall's. I will definitely go out of my way to avoid this store. The employees at the front are rude. Today I bought a wallet and the woman told me that she would never spend so much on a wallet. It was inappropriate and it made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. Also, on another occasion I asked for a discount on an item and the cashier woman seemed to be upset that I wanted a percentage off of the original price. After getting the okay from the manager for the discount the cashier said nothing to me for the rest of the transaction. Afterwards I said thank you and she said your welcome (very cold). I just gave her money and I'm saying thank you? Is this a joke?! I cannot believe the lack of respect that employees have for customers in this store. read more

Like any person who lives on a budget and recognize the trade off of shopping experiences at "discounted and value" stores; so I don't expect much from these businesses when I walked through the door. From being obviously hawk/watch at by employees, or checking your bags, or counting/checking items as you go in/out of dressing rooms, in/out of the stores; I can deal with all of that from an intellectual point of views regarding business loss/theft prevention. However, with all the physical eyes, camera eyes, store walking around loss prevention agents, whatever else technologies at their disposal......etc..... ...what more can we as a law abiding citizens/consumers do when a store's employee tells you in not so many words that the store does NOT have to honor the commodity/item printed/tag/listed price? First, my receipt scanned number is 90310053801174363 & 90310053799174363 in case anyone from the store or corporate managements need to verify the authenticity of my purchasing trip at Marshalls in Lakewood, CA. Yesterday, 09/27/2017 after 10 minutes of discussing about "pricing error" and the business & professional honor law; the store finally honored the reduction red tag price on the item I purchased, BUT not without giving me a WARNING. A Management lady said "the store will not honors the reduction red tag price next time". I asked her: are you advising me not to "trust" your red tag price, clearance price?. Am I to assume the price is subject to change when the store rings up the items? What is the protocol for me as a consumer at Marshalls? She did not answer but reiterated that the store will not honor the price next time. I left speechless and wonder should I still patronize the business? Or do I have to drive another 5 miles to a different store, in hope the employees there are following the company protocols? Who's speaking for the consumers; if even a law that already passed by California legislature to protect consumers possibly is being ignored daily by the multi-billions dollars businesses. So here I am, signing up with Yelp and preparing to send an email to the corporate office; it is disappointing that the local store's employees are not holding up their corporate cornerstone principles, but I hope this is not happening on a large scale. Heaven knows if it makes any difference; but all I can do is strive to do my part like many other Yelpers. Lastly, I hope the employees go back and read their corporate mission and value statements. I have visited this Marshall's on multiple occasions and have never had a poor customer service experience like I did yesterday. My daughter and I were not greeted with a hello or a good bye.
