This location has everything, including the Rhode skincare by Hailey Bibe (my go-to Sephora location in the Culver City mall does not carry it. The salespeople are great here, especially Govani and Alexis, who checked me out herself instead of letting me stand in the long line! Thank you Alexis ! Here is my Sephora haul purchased here on Feb 21, 2026, at the BURBANK EMPIRE CENTER: Nars: afterglow liquid blush (not primed enough, may return it), and the Laguna powder bronzer Makeup Forever: Lip liners in shades of wherever walnut, daring candy, dramatic plum, sassy Rhubarb. Also, i purchased the Too Faced mascara (better than sex mascara), 2 travel-sized perfumes: The 7 Virtues Buttercream Haze, and the Klian Paris Love, Don't be shy. Love that there is finally a free standing store not connected to a mall. This store is always up to date with the latest releases seen on instagram, tik tok and just generally online. I also appreciate that all the new launches are always at the front because it makes it easier to go for what you're looking for. One suggestion is making sure someone is going around sharpening all the lip liners so that it isn't hard to interrupt an associate who's with a client. Second suggestion is to maybe have more associates check people out who have a few items because there always tends to be a long line. All in all, love this location. read more

Went to Sephora at Empire Center today. Walked into the store and went on a search for some concealer. While looking at all of the choices as far as shades go I was kind of overwhelmed. There were a group of 4 Sephora employees in their black outfits a few feet from me having a big chat. 3 times I looked over at them and they definitely saw me but no one came over to ask if I needed help. One other employee came up to me to give me a basked to hold my items while I shopped. That was it. So I spent $100 and chose the shades that I hope will work for m. The line was fairly long due to the current sale so a staff member offered to ring up people who had Apple Pay at the nearby stand. I came in early during open hours to avoid the crowd and shop freely or so I thought. I just needed to compare some eyeshadow palettes and ended up buying the Natasha palette. I understand that theft happens a lot these days, but there's a fine line between necessary monitoring and racial profiling. I was being followed an tracked like crazy but other blonde girls who are shopping are not. What an uncomfortable experience. Racial profiling is real sadly but then again I don't work minimum wage so I don't know their protocols. I went to get foundation; I was dressed fine and I had a small purse with me. I've worked in retail so I understand how loss prevention works. I literally was holding the box in my hand, visible, as I walked around and browsed for other things. This young man kept following me around, not saying a word or greeting me or asking for help. It got so bad that he'd literally follow me around to every aisle. So I put my items away and went to Ulta, where the service was lovely and they gave me half off on all my items. Do better. My 12 year old really wanted to learn how to apply makeup the right way because she's in middle school and that's what the girls are getting into at that age. For a Christmas present last year my sister gifted her with a makeover tutorial and today was that day. We absolutely loved her MUA Bri. She was so age appropriate and chose products that are popular with girls my daughter's age. She would do one side of my daughter's face to show her the proper technique and then my daughter would do the other side of her face so Bri could correct her if she needed it. We loved all of the products she used, things were explained in case we didn't understand, and she left feeling so confident, which was priceless. She got so many compliments after the fact on her makeup when we went places afterward today. I won't hesitate if we need Bri again for a special occasion in the future. I hate writing bad reviews because I work in customer service and know how hard it is to perform a job like this. But specifically one lady that worked for this Sephora was beyond rude, despite everyone else being annoyed at the customers but at least respectful and professional. I didn't catch her name but she had black hair in a slicked back pony tail and was in one of the middle isles going towards the checkout line. Anyways, we accidentally bumped into each other in the isle. I apologized immediately and she turned and looked at me up and down with disgust and turned back around. It wasn't like she didn't hear me either, she took a long pause to give me that look. I was so shocked by this behavior, especially by someone who is literally a customer service worker, that I left quickly after purchasing a perfume. It feels like there are so much staff loitering around the store and they are just breathing down people's neck against their own will, because they are making sure no one steals to the point where it's pretty hard to enjoy your experience shopping. First time here and I won't be back. In a hurry, two cashiers one of whom is actually helping a customer which is weird given there are only two cashiers on a busy Sunday. So I waited in line for one item because they had none of the other items I came in for, suggested Target. Finally my turn and the card is declined. Wtf? I just used the card 5 min ago and there's plenty in there to cover my small purchase even a large one if needed. The testers are filthy, there is trash everywhere, trash bins are overflowing, the floor is inherently dirty. The only kind associate that helped me was Mineh. ITS NOT HELPFUL. I'm still fuming over my visit to this Sephora earlier today. I don't have a lot of time to myself to shop alone, but today I had a few hours and I was excited to wander around and check out what's new. I'd also just gotten paid and wanted to get a jump on some Christmas shopping. I put in my headphones and set about sampling perfumes and makeup. I was promptly greeted warmly by a salesperson who I let know I was good and didn't need any help. About 4 minutes later another woman wanted to know how I was doing, so I took out my headphones to tell her I was good. Four minutes after that another person interrupted me to see how I was doing and after that, someone else. I moved to the other side of the store but this only caused even more Sephora workers to hover up next to me, wanting to help. I began to respond with more irritation with each new lady checking on me. In 30 minutes I had 6 sales people ask to assist me at least twice. Are you kidding me? How is this helpful??? I came to shop, enjoy some alone time and spend money, but it became only about anticipating the next person coming up to interrupt me. I was pushed so hard that I had to snap at the last woman "I'M GOOD, OKAY?" It wasn't just me. Since I was absolutely not going to be buying anything from Sephora ever again I decided to look around and see what the other customers were experiencing. Two other women were also trying to shop while being tag-teamed by associates. There was hardly 5 minutes between each time they were contacted, and one of the customers was visibly annoyed. There were obviously way, way too many workers on the floor with too few customers to service. Reading the just awful reviews for this location, it seems this store can't figure out how to train their workers or how to have a decent worker/customer ratio. What is the store policy that a customer has to be accosted like this? If I need help, I know how to find one of the workers on the floor, and I know how to verbally request assistance. I understand being greeted upon arrival and maybe--MAYBE--having someone touch base with me 20 minutes later, but what happened today is straight up harassment. Needless to say, I did not spend my money at Sephora today, and I won't be going into Sephora ever again. Two Sephora employees were very helpful. It was my first time coming here and I didn't really know where the things I wanted were, and the first employee helped me find my items. The second employee helped me pick out a concealer. I've never felt the need for concealer, but now that I am older I felt it was time I started to. However, had no clue what shade I was.. The second employee really took her time to help me and find the best match for my under eyes, she was so nice! I usually don't review big brands or chain stores because I find it pointless, but I'm just super confused. I was browsing around the store when an employee asked if they could help, I asked her to help me find a perfume travel size that I wanted. She led me to two different locations at the store where the item could be found and then stated something like "if it's not out on the floor we don't have it". I get into my car and look up the item online when the app notifies me that they have it in store for store pick up. I order it and literally 40 mins later, the app lets me know that it's ready to be picked up. I'm confused as to why employees go around asking to help, when they're not going to actually look for the item that is clearly in stock. She never offered to check online, check the drawers or the back to see if it was in stock. Could have saved me a double trip. read more

Spoke to the supervisor Maria about make up application. We discussed a few different options, to book a session but I felt I was talking to a computer and we were just going around in circles. I feel sadly Sephora and Maria being a representative doesn't want to take accountability for the makeup artist who spend too much time talking about their personal lives and the gossip around the establishment. If we are paying for a service it should be done in a timely manner. Not well "I'm not sure", "whatever the artist can accomplish based off the look your going for." I mean it goes on and on.
