As licensed professionals, we don't have a ton of options when it comes to where we can shop, so it truly makes a difference when the staff goes above and beyond. Every time I'm in, they're welcoming, patient, and eager to help answer questions or walk you through products without making you feel rushed or talked down to. You can tell they actually know their stuff and care about helping you find what works best for your clients. That kind of service doesn't go unnoticed. I'm am not giving one star because I'm reacting to the rule of only licensed professionals being allowed to make purchases. I already knew that when I took the time to drive to the nearest Cosmo Prof to purchase a gift card for my stylist friend for his birthday. Since I know Cosmo Prof is where he gets his supplies for his small salon, I thought it would be a nice gift. I was told that only licensed professionals can purchase gift cards for other professionals. I will just leave that ridiculous business nonsense right there. read more

First, let's address the elephant in the room -- you must have a cosmetology license to shop at CosmoProf -- that's the rule. If you don't have a license, CosmoProf is not for you. Luckily your boy Robbie B has one. Now that's out of the way. This place is a hit! Sparkling clean aisles and displays, fully stocked, it's a go-to place for hair products and more. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful without any upselling. I came in looking for a certain purple shampoo and was directed to a better, and cheaper, product. Prices are surprisingly reasonable given that this is a "specialty" store. I'm a hair gel guy, preferably in the pump, and CosmoProf had six or seven options for me, none more than $14. Dog shampoo? My 3 stars is because I purchased a gel top coat from them today and when I opened it 20 minutes later when I got to work it was contaminated and was too thick (aka it had been exposed to extreme temperatures or sunlight) making the gel useless. This is the best place to go for product. The prices are great, especially if you are licensed. Diana is amazing. She's extremely knowledgeable with all of the product they carry. She's really sweet and even takes care of my clients that go in to purchase product. The rest of the staff is great, including the manager. Diana is definitely my to go girl. read more

Okay, you need to bring your license, your original one when you go there. Here's where the problem is... not all estheticians are employees. Some are business owners. And when you apply for a business, I don't know if it depends which city, but with mine it says I need to display my license in my shop together with my business permit in plain view that my clients will see it. So everytime I go to CosmoProf I need to bring that 10x10 frame?! This is what you call narrow-mindedness. I don't know where I'd be without Cosmoprof. I was so addicted to the Glendale location... and stumbled into the Burbank location because it was closer to the salon. Carol over here was so freaken helpful. When I say was, I don't mean on one occasion. This girl goes out of her way EVERY single time, she always helps me find the perfect color I'm looking for and gives me background info on different lines, different shades etc. And not just color... she's so helpful for helping me find the perfect shampoos, the best deals, the hottest new products, everything. Not to mention, they always make sure to give you some free samples. I love that because it gives me a chance to try new products and have my clients try them without spending first. It's actually been a great way to introduce me to a lot of products. All and all... Cosmoprof, both the glendale and burbank location, is the best place for stylists to buy their stuff and get the best service around. read more

Probably the worst product store I've been too as a hairdresser. Wouldn't recommend coming too as staff is rude.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this location. I wanted to purchase a promotional item that clearly stated the price in the catalog. When I was ready to make the purchase, they were not able to honor the price that was advertised in the catalog. I was given excuses such as the advertisement in the catalog was not accurate or was not able to get ahold of management. As a business owner myself, this experience was extremely frustrating and could have been corrected on the spot but due to the lack of proper training they were unable to correct the issue. read more

My wife is a Hair Dresser, so I've been to many CosmoProf's over the years. We've never had a bad experience, but we also never had a great one. This Burbank location is small on size, but big on customer service! We were offered help, told about a sale on an item we were looking at, and given a recommendation for a comparable product when the original was out of stock. Wow. I've been to a handful of beauty supply stores in Los Angeles and I was so impressed with Jessica at this CosmoProf Burbank location. She has been so knowledgeable and helpful so many times that after the 5th time of exceptional service I figured I better write a review. Anytime I have a question she answers it, shows me where it's located in the store and has options if the first one is to pricey for the project. When she's out of something she instantly asks if I need her to check other locations or do a custom order so I can get what I need. She even went to another location on her day off TO pick up some hard find Neons when all my surrounding stores were out. She definitely goes up and above the call of duty. read more

Don't know what's up with all the bad reviews at this location. I've never had a problem going in and buying products. Everything is always fully stocked and the store is kept clean. Usually the girls just say hi when I walk in but they don't bother me unless I ask a question as to where a specific product is located. They carry all the latest and hottest brands of anything hair care you could ever want. Including skin care and instruments. It's my go to place for anything beauty related! read more

I went in looking for a new hair color and brands that some of the regular beauty supply stores do not carry, and I was told that, because I do not have a license, I could not even be in the store to look.
