    Miraceti Eau de Parfum
    Drew I.

Popped in for a rainy day scent as a gift for a loved one. After trying several samples ended up going with Miraceti. In love with this boutique store, and KATH who is such a poet in describing smells and sensations with memory. She made my experience. Will be back soon.

I needed to simply adjust my appointment by about 30 minutes, but the app does not allow you to easily modify your time without canceling and rebooking. When I tried calling for help, I was disconnected multiple times and couldn't reach a live person. That alone is incredibly inconvenient for a service-based business. Because of the system limitations, I ended up canceling, and was then charged a $20 cancellation fee, even though I was actively trying to resolve the issue ahead of time. That feels unfair, especially when the problem is with the app itself. As clients, we should be able to adjust appointments slightly (earlier or later) without being penalized or forced into canceling altogether. As for the service itself, it was okay, but definitely needs improvement. There are no mirrors available, and clients are not allowed to touch up their own brows, which I was told is "not approved by the board." That explanation was confusing and didn't make much sense from a customer experience standpoint. On a positive note, I do like the convenience of being able to maintain my grays more than once a month for essentially the same price as a single visit, that part of the membership is valuable. I hope Madison Reed improves their app functionality, customer support access, and overall in-store experience, because situations like this are very disappointing.

I still went in for the color, but the experience did not meet expectations. My face was left stained with tint, which felt very unprofessional. I've colored my hair myself before and even then I've never had that happen. When I got home, I had to wash my hair again because it felt irritating--only to realize they hadn't fully rinsed out all the dye. Overall, very disappointing, especially considering their reputation for quality service.

I came in with a friend who has never worn a wig before and needed help trying them on. No one offered assistance, and I had to ask directly for someone to help her. Wig shopping is already a vulnerable experience, especially for first-timers, and it should feel more supportive. The two-wig try-on rule was enforced very rigidly. But after speaking with the owner and kind of just asking again she let me (first saying that they usually don't). When I lightly adjusted a curly wig with my hands (no combing, tools, or products), the owner made a big deal about it even though the wig was visibly flat and I was considering purchasing it. Customers should be able to move the DISPLAY hair slightly to see if it works for them. After choosing a wig, I wasn't told it was out of stock and that the display was the only one left until I asked. I was then offered 10% off, which should have been communicated upfront but she started helping someone else before letting me know. The owner is generally nice, but there's a lack of professionalism and clear communication. I've had small issues before but kept trying to support; however, experiences like this make it hard to feel comfortable shopping here. I won't be back. I love supporting black businesses but this is just not what I want to support. Also- the wigs they have aren't very stylish. The options aren't great.

It's a high end brand from the UK and they have awesome skincare and makeup products. One of the great things about Planet Beauty is that they have great sales- especially after the holidays. They sell a ton of kits and most of them are up to 50% off so that's when I stock up! If you are a member and spend a certain amount, you can get a standard 15% off your purchases. They also give great samples with every purchase as well. The people that works there are always nice and friendly. They give great recommendations. They also sell candles and jewelry. There's also a mini salon in the back for facials, lashes, etc. I held a workout event at a barre studio and they supplied us with sample bags!

In addition to beauty supplies, they have a great choice of candles, cards, and even some slimming undergarments. They carry high-quality blow dryers and even have micro-current machines that can help reduce wrinkles and revitalize your skin. The main thing I love about this store though, is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bryant is amazing and knows so much about all the products. Every time I go there, he turns me on to a new wonderful product. He has made so many great recommendations on everything from hair care to nail care to skin. I look 20 years younger because of some of his recommendations! At the very least, my skin is much more beautiful and glowing. Celeste is also super helpful and friendly. She turned me on to the Deborah Lipman nail polish which is the best polish I've ever used. There are also a number of other awesome folks who have helped me when I go in there but I can't remember everyone's name. The point is, everyone that I've dealt with there seems to be super friendly and helpful. So nice to go to a place with great customer service! The prices are also very competitive, and because they are often offering discounts, the prices are typically the same or cheaper than online or at the bigger chain beauty stores. Last night they were having a sale, and I saved a truckload of cash on K18 hair treatment! Way cheaper than the big chain beauty store up the street formerly known as Du Pars! The store is conveniently located in the shopping mall on Vineland and Ventura, so you can also go get your shopping done at Ralph's after your beauty needs and hit the Wells Fargo ATM. They have a huge lot and parking is convenient. It is a small independently owned shop with wonderful products and amazing customer service. I highly encourage you to check it out if you need beauty supplies.
