Basically repeating what I was asking about, no selling skills whatsoever. There were a couple other employees working, but this was the one who approached me so it was all downhill from here. I walked in unexpectedly after driving down 3rd St in hopes of finding a gift and remembered how everyone talks so positively about Le Labo candles. He introduced me to layering musc with rose, which completely changed my fragrance game, and even walked me through the Parisian & LA exclusives with so much passion and knowledge. We decided to try another Le Labo stand-alone store before the end of September, while the City scents are available. If you are familiar with this concept, each major city that has a Le Labo presence represents and carries a single unique scent, in addition to the regular classics. These singular scents are available online and at all Le Labo stores and outlets only in September, so that is when you need to grab one if you like and don't live in or near that city. As with the other locations, this Le Labo allows you to try blotters and sprays of anything they have. I have now sampled about 18 of their unique and classic fragrances and for me, Poivre 23 (London only) and Tabac 28 (Miami only) are the best. I just bought a bottle of each. If I want more, I have to wait until next September. The store on West Third is a good place to shop. The parking is abundant and the store is on a clean, rather upscale street. The personnel are friendly but I don't feel any warm and fuzzies from them at this store, as with the previous. They could work on this, at these prices. This perfume, while elegant, is overly expensive, in my opinion, having grown up with perfume since infancy, literally. Also, it doesn't last more than a few hours. Still, I like the two I bought and may decide to get more some day. Luckily their classic collection is available all year long, the stores are open every day with good hours, and there are counters at department stores. (Btw, I am skeptical that they "hand blend" the perfumes for you. These are spray bottles with a tight, fixed collar -- I don't believe they have the equipment or expertise to do that at individual stores. I think they receive already filled and sealed spray bottles in bulk and then sell them to you. The concept of there being a laboratory at each store is implausible though cute and clever. Think about the cost of running a small, sterile, precise lab at hundreds of venues. They would need cosmetic chemists aka perfumers at a high salary at each place. Not likely! Le Labo is one of my favorite places to get a perfume. What sets them apart is that they hand bland your perfume in front of you. Their products always smell fresh and since they are oil based, they last longer than any regular perfume. The staff working in this particular location was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Great boutique. You can get a trial vial for less than cup of gourmet coffee. Love that you can sample as much as you like. A few of their scents end of being skin scents for me but most of the fragrances are quite delicious and project well. The scents do lean on the perfume side of the spectrum rather than on the cologne side. Still, you'll find high end fragrances here. You'll smell monied & sophisticated with Le Labo. So when you're done buying scents from Macy step up to the big leagues. read more

Ive bought another 13 for years same scent, same projection, same silage. Unfortunately i decided to try out a new location for the heck of it and was i mistaken. Customer service: 2/10 Angelica made everything felt rushed and asking to try a new scent paper sample felt like a burden for her. My current favorite perfumery. I've tried their Patchouli oil roll on, Lys 50ml and Jasmin 100ml. I want to try their The Noir so bad now that it's out. The staff helped me find out if an overseas branch carries the The Noir, and was very nice about it. Just a tiny qualm... The store in NYC happily have me two sample vials with my purchase, but the LA store wanted me to buy it at $6 apiece. That's so weird how the store policy is not uniform. You are not the cheapest guy in town, but you aren't even on rotation with them because you're in a league of your own. You are sensual, sultry, don't define yourself by gender or the boxes people want to put you in because you defy categories. You make me feel special by personalizing my bottles. I love Le Labo and their luscious scents and customized labeling! They make for a fabulous gift and I've always been happy to give or receive a Le Labo product. I first discovered the line years ago while staying at Gramercy Park in New York. They burn Santal 33 in the lobby and the whole hotel smells of the cardamom, iris, violet and smoking woods that make up this irresistible scent. They make candles, room scents, bath products and perfumes. What's great about their products is they have a certain masculinity about them so they are perfect for a gift for a guy! read more

So I was off doing my random daily chores rolling bums and taking pictures of them when an intoxicating fragerence caught my nose. Like Tucan Sam I followed it all the way to the honeypot, and by honeypot I mean Le Labo. When entering this place I was struck by the ambiance of it and felt like little Charlie inside the chocolate factory. The Service was the cat's pajama's and the products were the Bee's Knee's. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking to escape the troubles of everyday life and enter a beautiful magical place where the sky is the limit On a side note I was struck by the countergirl Heather who although may appear cold and bitchy at first is a beautiful, soulful seductress who can melt an iceberg with her smile. read more

Well, I stumbled into this boutique today. I had no idea it even existed. It is very contemporary, but in a warm kind of way. The gentleman spent time with us discussing the company and perfumes. He did it in a way that did not rush us. He allowed us to smell lots of the oils behind the counter. I agree w/Sasha that the place looks like a cool industrial lab. He explained to us that they make perfumes on the premises. The bottles are unique and your name and expiration date goes on the label. This would make a great gift. I loved the candles. The perfumes were kind of on the strong side. I sprayed Isis on me and my friend. Man....it smelled good in the bottle, but on the body.....I felt like I smelled like the inside of my grandma's purse. It kind of turned me off to trying anything else. The perfumes range from $52 for a small vial to $650. The candles are $70. The candles are made from Soy and hand poured. The staff is very friendly and I may be back to buy a candle. read more

This was one of the awesome stops made on the Melting Pot Tours, and I looooove this place! The smell experience was fabulous, and I really enjoyed it in here. I love seeing all those beautiful brown bottles lining the shelves and smelling all the perfumes they have on hand. This place, and BPAL are awesome. I even bought Labdanum18 here ;) Love it! Might need to go back for their Ambrette. I really like how they mix the fragrance right there for you right there at the store.
