I have been to this SEPHORA beauty market 3 times since they tore down the iconic diner Dupars. Those of you who knew Dupars, should know how lovely Dupars was!! Always open 24/7/365 days a year. Getting back on track with SEPHORA. I had a $100.00 gift card for this store that was given to me by a dear friend of mine for my birthday. Knowing how fast businesses open and shut down, I didn't want this opportunity to go to waste, and decided to spend my gift card on 2 perfumes that I needed and wanted.It took them a minute or two for an employee to give me a greeting, and she found both perfumes that I needed & wanted. Lines were very long on a Saturday that just passed, and it was super busy. Store was in a good condition, clean, well organized by sections/products, loud music playing over head, busy parking structure shared with Trader Joes and so many other businesses. I got the perfume Chance by Chanel, and Anais Anais by Cacharrel. They have many beauty products from make up to hair care, fragrances for all genders, sanitizers, skin care, and a lot more.. They have make up, perfumes/colognes by different designers names like Prada, Gucci, Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent. Also by different celebrities like Rihanna, Selena Gomes, Paris Hilton and a lot more. Just to name a few. SEPHORA carries practically everything that you need for your needs. It IS VERY EXPENSIVE!! I went in to buy a fragrance, and not a single employee offered to help us choose anything. At first I assumed it was just because they were busy, but then I watched the staff fully assist another customer, showing her options and helping her swatch. My husband and I felt completely ignored, like we were an afterthought for simply wanting to sample scents. I felt a bit of classism with our lack of assistance, but that might be my own projection. Aaah let's see. Where do I start with this location. It's not so much the actual Sephora that is annoying but all the entitlement and nastiness of the patrons both inside and outside this establishment. For starters, the parking lot is an absolute nightmare. Filled with people who are extremely rude, people who park like jerks because they want to make sure no one, and I do mean NO ONE parks next to their G-Wagon. After navigating that, then you walk inside Sephora. The staff has always been nice just really busy with rude, entitled, wanna be influencers and housewives. It's almost too much to deal with without my temper reaching volcanic levels. So if you go at odd hours you will actually have a decent experience. Hope this helps. read more

My wife wanted to stop by this Sephora location after we finish eating brunch at a place in the same plaza. I found parking just fine in the plaza but if you come after lunch time then it might be more difficult because of the Trader Joe's. When we walked inside the store, we were greeted by the worker. Just be aware that there only 1 entrance and you'll have to walk to where Ventura is because there no entrance from the parking lot. The store is a decent size but is organized. I went to look at the cologne area while my wife was shopping. I tried smelling some of the cologne options but didn't like any of the ones I sprayed. My wife found some stuff that she liked and a worker was very helpful with her. This store does take Apple Pay as a payment and when we were there, it did take a while to checkout with 2 cashier. read more

Sephora - Studio City is a stand alone gem in the shopping center plaza where Ventura Blvd meets Ventura Place... Former home of Dupar's this multinational cosmetics and beauty store is one you should explore! Really big shift into more skincare products, they carry a variety of makeup, hair care and fragrances for all genders. Typically a smooth in an out, with great service in every corner. I've only stopped in thrice and most recently... Was really surprised they don't carry much if any nail polish these days... Like when did that happen... I honestly think it was a change in the last few years, but I didn't notice. What you might find or small nail polish gift bag & sets... Which make for great presents for people in your life even more so around the holidays. The men's and unisex fragrances often draw me in, love getting personal with Dior, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and some select others... A little goes such a long way... They also have great perfumes and body sprays as well. Always find myself wanting to explore Sephora more for friends and family than myself, however there's something fun for all not to mention great service... The parking might be the only real obstacle being in that super plaza lot with Trader Joe's, Mendocino Farms and other gems. Like most location you can also do store pick-ups for quicker ins and outs. This store and management is a mess. Went in and spent a lot of money and came home to realize they messed up my entire order. My products were wrong and I was overcharged. They put my items aside to pay for at the register and when I went I pay for them, everything was gone and I had to go find everything again. I called thinking management would be helpful but spoke to Anthony the manager who was totally inflexible and wasn't able to provide any solutions or work around. He was totally apathetic, arrogant and couldn't care less to try to help me and now my family has the wrong Christmas gifts. read more

Honestly the worst! I got color matched here and they didn't have it in stock so I had to go to universal location to get it. When I tried foundation at home it's the totally wrong shade for me so I called tonight at 7:30 since they close at 8 and asked them to hold my shade for me and that I'll be in at 10am tomorrow to do an exchange. They told me they could not hold it until tomorrow morning. I was told to order online to pick it up in store...except that my item is showing OUT OF STOCK so I could NOT purchase for a BOPIS. Upon explaining this the employee told me her supervisor was "very stern" that they could not hold the item for 20 minutes for me at the end of the day and I had to order online and pick up in store which I literally can't on their app or website because it says out of stock even though the employee said they have it and checked! I also don't want to pay again when I just have an even exchange. Everything at this store is an issue. Don't even get me started when I tried to use my gift card here and they made me feel like a criminal and I had to call corporate to verify myself! Just horrible service all around, high prices but no service. Turn over here is very high never the same people. My favorite brow artist mykel is gone and when I tried the new girl the wax was wayyy too hot and I had red marks under my eyebrows and was left sensitive for a few days. I've been a Rouge for at least the last 5 years but I'm slowly finding myself making the drive to noho west Ulta. We have "experienced", extremely dry skin and had two wonderful Sephora skin experts help us find some wonderful makeup lines, match shades and skin care products that worked with our skin conditions. We were assisted by Emma and Raphael. Both Sephora experts also let us know brief highlights of each skincare brand - their background, commitment to sustainability and whether or not their products were vegan. They also explained the Sephora skin care guarantee ... buy it and don't like the product? NO worries! We have 30 days to love it or return it!!! So cool! We are BIG fans of this location. Can't wait to come back and visit. Pretty good parking - depending on time of day, as this is a popular little shopping plaza in the center of Studio City. read more

I really like this Sephora location, I mean there isn't really a location that I don't like - they are a one stop shop, right? I can either shop all of the brands I like at their individual locations and accumulate points OR accumulate them at Sephora which is sort of how I see it - while shopping for everything I need at once. I do both but I probably shop at Sephora more often AND I like walking to this location opposed to visiting the one closer to me in the mall - because, well... Gross I don't really want to go into a mall unless I have to (for See's Candy ;) and that's about it). I'm not much into makeup, a little vegan lip balm (not purchased here), some moisturizer and sunscreen is usually my jam. So... I can't really speak to a lot of their makeup products but if I have ever wanted something specific they've had it. YSL lipstick, a Too Faced bronzer here and there but I mainly shop here for my skin care, hair care and fragrance products. I use Fresh, Kiehl's and Caudalie and I'm able to pick up everything I need in just a few minutes. I'll also pick up a few roller balls, Fresh fragrances, Tocca Florence and a couple Replica (By the Fireplace, Coffee Break) and my hair products (Verb, Caviar, Dry Bar type stuff; sprays and serums). All in all, they most usually have what I need and they also have great sets throughout the year from my fav brands and customer service is always fantastic! 5 STAR Sephora and customer service. read more

They have had no one there and the makeup stylists have said they could fit me in but the manager says no. Not sure why they don't want the money. Lots of staff talking to each other available to help but clearly not interested in customer service or business. I had a very disappointing shopping experience at this location. When I walked in I was greeted and passed off to a MUA to assist with recommendations. She was nice, helpful and knowledgeable with choosing a foundation and concealer. But when it came to blush, she gave them to me, then disappeared. Strike #1- How does one disappear mid-assistance? I was still needing help with more products. After 10 min I asked another lady what happened to her. She said she doesn't know who I was working with (at the time I forgot her name). She said I've never seen you before. I reminded her that 10 min prior she price-checked lash gel for me and the MUA. Finally, she remembered after being adamant that we never met, she said "Oh I think she got pulled away". Apparently, she was working at the cash register now. Then I was told "She thought she was done (working with you). Strike #2 - no one really knows WTH is going on! So now I get another makeup artist. Mind you I am on a 1-hour lunch break. She helps but I don't take her options and my time is running out. I see my MUA ringing customers. I planned to ask her what happened, but it was taking so long in line with just 1 person ahead of me at each cash register, I had to leave. I asked her to put my name on my items, I would come back after work. Well I get back after work and my 5 items were put away with the exception of 1 thing. The person at the register said no name was left on the basket so it was likely put back. Strike #3- I do not have another hour to spend in this store! I don't want anything at all. As I was leaving a girl complimented me on my makeup. I told her I wish I knew what it was. She too, had a poor experience. As a former MUA who worked from Freelance to Assistant Manager at MAC in 4 states over 10 years, this was a shame. read more

Came here on the morning of my headshot photoshoot to get makeup done for the headshots. Sephora employees Directed me to Mariyah. I explained to her that the purpose of the make up was to get rid of the shining from the flash of the camera and that the photographer was using film lighting not photo lighting. She claimed that she worked as a make up artist on film sets and music video sets and has done make up for models many times. However I told her that exact moment that the make up was very thick under my eyes and she got sensitive about what I said and told me that she does it all the time. When I got to the studio the photographer told me that the make up was incredibly heavy. The makeup did not give off a natural look. She put such a huge and thick layer under my eyes it ruined all of my head shots and I had to spend more to have the photographer do a full edit to fix the horrible make up job that she did. She does not know how to do men's make up and she for sure has never worked with film lighting. Stay away from this place unless you're trying to get make up for something in particular they will just set you up with any make up artist without making sure that they know what they are doing. I regret going to this location and I definitely regret seeing this so called makeup artist. read more

This location usually has my items in stock and I can usually find a parking spot quickly. The positives pretty much end there. I don't know what the sales culture is like at this company but I find aggressive sales tactics very uncomfortable. Fine, they want everyone to have an experience and know they are ALL available to help. However, you're approached so often you're not given a chance to think. It's just hair oil, I don't need to have a summit with everyone in the store. It deters me from browsing. I just grab my items and check out. Even at the register, the attendant wouldn't be quiet while I tried to decide which birthday gift I wanted. When I picked the one she suggested (i.e., pushed) she started commenting on their "lack of diverse offerings"(meaning nothing for POCs). Like girl, seriously, no one asked. Tell it to your regional manager. Shopping at Sephora should be fun. Don't make it weird. read more

Always a good experience. This is my neighborhood Sephora and the staff has always been so friendly and glad to help. Not one negative experience, they help with every question down to which shade do you think is better for me with always a warm smile on their face. I've never felt ignored or like they were "snooty make up girls" or felt dumb for the questions I have asked. In addition we were told we couldn't touch anything or even ask an employee to open the product to see it. In other words you can take the same gamble online. So annoyed with my experience at this Sephora today. I am a makeup artist that gets big discounts on cosmetics I don't have to shop at Sephora to get makeup. I choose to shop because there are brands that I like and I used to enjoy the experience. However, today theft prevention was on me like a hawk because apparently if you carry a tote bag you must be slipping products in there as well. To make things even more unpleasant and obvious this theft prevention person walked up behind while I was in line and kept trying to peek inside my bag. I felt super uncomfortable. Then this person left the line and spoke to different employees in the store. I understand that these stores get hit up all the time and there is definitely a need for theft prevention but at what cost? Making paying customers feel unwelcome and like thieves? Honestly, I was just trying to enjoy some girl time and shop around the store and left feeling like I was targeted. The only reason why I'm not giving a full 5 star is because it took me 20 mins to find parking and about 10 long minutes to leave - super busy on a Saturday. I normally shop online but I had to come in the store today. The parking experience reminded me how convenient online shopping is! But if you ever need to come here, better to have someone wait for you in the car, or if you're already parked across the street after getting a massage at The NOW lol. The parking lot is shared with Trader Joe's and other businesses so it's really busy but it's free. Just had to circle a few times to find a spot. The store was a fairly nice size and it was a bit busy but it was a weekday so not too crazy. I walked the store for a few minutes to find someone who worked there to ask for assistance to get matched for a foundation and was asked to wait to get help. The makeup artist acknowledged me after a few minutes and told me he was alone on the floor and just finishing with a client. I said I could wait with no problem. Diego helped me. I asked to be matched with their color match system and he said he could do it by eye. He put a little foundation on with his fingers because he said his brushes were dirty but didn't match me with the machine as asked. I asked about a few more brands and he said this location had none of them (Sephora carries them but not this store). Since he didn't match me with the machine and they didn't have them in the store I still can't get them online because they are new to me brands- like Pat McGrath's foundation. I had 3 more questions since i couldn't find what i came for and he advised me and then got called on his earpiece and responded that he was "still" with this customer because "she has a basket of questions". Diego had a really unfriendly attitude delivered with an over the top fake smile. I thanked him and said I understood he had to go and he was quick to walk away. It was disappointing to get treated like i was inconveniencing someone whose job is supposedly to help customers. I was ready to shop for a dozen or so "new-to-me" products but instead just cut my visit short. No reason to linger in a place that doesn't want my business. I then looked for a few more of my staple products and their inventory was out - basic items like stilla eyeliner, katvond, etc. Several end caps were out of product- and I mean they were empty. When I asked if it they had any additional inventory i got a response to the tune of "we are supposed to get inventory today but I'm not in operations so I don't know why we are out of so many things." Again, just zero empathy or customer service skills. I'm new to the LA area but I'm used to much better service from Sephora. I certainly don't recommend this location.
