I have had such a bad experience at this Sephora. Seriously would rather drive out of my way to go to Ulta. The customer service here is horrible. Felt ignored the whole time & when I finally would grab someone's attention they acted like it was a bother. Also when I was paired up with Sandra to help with the decision of which foundation I should try since I wasn't happy with my current one she basically left me at the tablet to have me find one myself. I have had a nightmare experience the mobile credit card device froze in the middle of my transaction so they went to a regular register and ran my card again. I specifically asked will this cause a double charge of course I was reassured it would not. I was in fact double charged. The management was less than helpful they made me wait over 20 minutes to be helped then show my bank statement and ask if I was sure it wasn't pending I then had to explain that pending charges show pending and this did not. I had To go out of my way for this, wait a significant amount of time and the staff was less than accommodating. I felt like I was treated that I did something wrong when in fact it was their error. They didn't process it back they said they had to call some internal people that "they" would credit my card if in fact there was an error. I asked for the internal contact and was told no. I was given a bag of samples for my trouble but what I really wanted was my $40.95. read more

i love sephora...usually i go through ebates since i get cash back :P but i needed my foundation and powder asap so i went in today during lunch. i wanted something different and it was busy (as always) after waiting a good 10 mintues and frustrated i got help from sal...OMG I LOVE SAL!!! he was so helpful and my mini shopping spree turned into a big one :P he helped me pick out amazing eye shadows and showed me how to put it on for a night out or just because...usually i come in grab what i can and leave since the employees area always busy, but today i felt amazing when i left...this is definitely a great place to buy make up. great return policies...if you don't like it you can return it...and honestly the customer service was always a-ok, but today it was fabulous!!! Last night I came by to buy foundation primer and toner. I walked around the store for a good minute. Was I helped? F*** no, I wasn't. Thank goodness my friend came along with me. We were comparing fluid oz of different primers and deciding what I'd probably like best. I ended up buying Laura Mercier's foundation primer. As for the toner, I stuck to Clinique's. Well, I went in today at about 11:15am to purchase some foundation since I was almost out of my Make Up Forever. I wanted to purchase Sephora's brand since it was less expensive and I wanted to try something new. I walk in and no one greets me, then again, they never do. Immediately found an associate restocking so I grabbed her before anyone could since apparently no matter what time of day you go in there everyone is always busy in some way. She took me over to the beauty studio for another associate to help me out. Well, two were there already and looked at each other dumbfounded when asked who would help me out. Jordan eventually helped me out. He seemed a little standoffish and just seemed bored with it all. I get it I've worked retail, its monday, you don't want to be there but at least put some effort into changing your attitude for a customer. I do appreciate though the advice about the dryness of my forehead, which I kinda noticed before but that helped solidify my thought. After that experience I went to the skincare end of the store and got some samples from yet another unwhelmed associate with purple, blue hair. I had asked for samples/suggestions and she ended up directing me to a very nice woman who I assume is a brand ambassador for Caudaile. I guess it is what it is. I ended up purchasing Sephora's brand of foundation. I did notice when I got home though, with better inspection, that the foundation from earlier was applied poorly. I've been going to this location for years and overall the customer service has gone down the tubes. read more

This store does not have Becca Cosmetics or Georgio Armani, and I'm sure they are lacking in many other brands that other Sephoras carry. The aisles are narrow and it is impossible to go anywhere without bumping into someone. I came on a 20% off weekend and the place was mobbed. A beauty consultant told me to order the Armani foundation at cash wrap and they will order it online for me and enter the 20% discount. 20 minutes in line later, the cashier tells me they could order on line but will not give me the discount. REALLY? Because I ordered it online later that day and voila! Discount given. When I left they asked if I wanted the receipt to be emailed to me I said yes, they did not email me the receipt. Called them and was on hold for 20 minutes where the same person I spoke to came back on the phone and asked what I needed help with. I told her that I had already spoken to her and that she was supposed to be working on the receipt issue, she tells me she forgot and put me on hold, again. In the end the manager came on and I still don't have my receipt, she said she would "work on it" and call me. I'm not holding my breath. read more

I've been to this Sephora a few times and every time, it's a disappointment. Here's why: ---Items are never in stock ---Sales associates only seem to be there to hand you baskets and say "hello" and "good-bye", but when you need help, you need to hunt one down. I was hoping today's visit would be an improvement fr my previous visits, but this is not the case. Again, there's no available sales associate to assist me. I had a list of at least 3 to 4 items I intented on buying, but ended up picking up only one because, once again, items are not in stock. When I got to the cashier/counter, I asked the girl if I can have a sample of an eye cream. She scooped up 3 measly, almost infinitesimal amount into a small plastic jar. I'm thinking, "are you serious? That's all you're giving me?" The look on my face must have reflected what I was thinking because she said, "This is enough for at least 3 applications." Sure, if your eyes were the size of a hamster, yeah, you've given enough. Customer service tip for Sephora, Brea: if you want customers to keep coming back, brush up on your customer service skills, keep items in stock and make your customers happy by giving them plenty of samples. I'll go back to ordering on line. At least there, I'll get more than 1 sample. And if I really need to visit a Sephora, I'll make a trek to another location. read more

The 5 stars is for the customer service we received from ANGEL. My mom and I went in to get some makeup and skin care products. We had some questions so we asked a gentleman named Angel who was SO HELPFUL! They didn't have what we needed in stock so he helped us order it right then and there without having to wait in line. Since we spent over $75, he told us about the complimentary hydro facial (which we have never heard about before) so of course we jumped on it. He was so great with my mom and she loved it! He gave us samples of perfume we were interested in and helped guide us with some other perfume and skincare products. He also gave us samples of the products he used on my mom. Samples galore! The whole sample thing Sephora is doing is great! I've never received any from Ulta, nor the same customer service. We will definitely make this our home store (a 15 mile drive for us) just so we can ask for Angel again! read more

One time they even charged me for a completely different item and had the nerve to question me when I had to drive all the way back from Orange. This particular Sephora has by far the worst costumer service. First of all, I nicely asked the sales associate if she can give me a sample of a concealer and she didn't even say a word and just went to get the container to put in the product. After that I pointed at a random color and then I told her I didn't color match myself yet if she can do it for me and she rudely said that I already chose my color and mind you that I'm olive skin tone and she gave me the lightest pink tone shade they had. As she was squeezing the product I over heard her also rude co-worker say," Just give her a little bit." Like I understand be considerate with the product but don't say it in front of a costumer. I personally work in retail and that is not the way I handle my costumer. If you want to go to a Spehora go to the one in Down Town Disney they are super friendly and helpful. I am very particular with the makeup, cleansers and moisturizes I buy. My skin is super sensitive and it seems everything makes my skin break out. I wear smash box, and for the 2nd month in a row this Sephora in Brea was out of my powder. Every week I would get told, come back next Friday when we get our shipment and see. ??? Why can't someone just call me when it comes in? Well, the color I wear did not come in and the sales associate refers me to Lancôme. "Oh it's practically the same as Smash box" she says. So I go through the spiel how I am sensitive, it can't have oil, alcohol, fragrance, I break out and she says "Oh, this is perfect for you then". I should have had a match done, but I showed her the color I wear and she handed me one that was "my color". I get come, brush it on and I get a whiff of flowers and my cheek starts to burn. "WHAT THE $%#@??? I read the package, 1.ALCOHOL 2.FRAGRANCE 3.OIL. Funny, she must have selective hearing and missed the "CANT HAVE"... in my makeup or purposely sold it because her commission was worth more to her than my health . I went to South Coast for the return and spoke to the associate there about what happened. They were very apologetic and got me the right make up. I will never let an associate help me at Brea again. South Coast Sephora is the only one I go to now. read more

Went here asking if we could get a trail make up for an upcoming event. One of the ladies just told us there are no trails and we would have to pay $50 for a full makeover. She told us they don't do anything like that. After we decided that we would look at the makeup. We were looking around for around for almost an hour and only 2 people asked us for help. If I could give this place a negative I would. I've gone in twice specifically looking for something. First time the associate said she'll help me and never returned. As I left the store I noticed she was helping someone else. Yesterday the first associate said she'll be right with me after finishing her client, which was no where around. So I asked another associate. I needed assistant in finding the right concealer. Instead of showing where and what product she was referring to she just gave me recommendation and literally walked away. This was after I had been in the store for 30mins looking for assistant. I have recently had a very serious flare up of psoriasis on my forehead and temple area, and I was desperate to find a foundation that would cover up the dry, red and blotchy skin. I was set up with Sandra as my beauty consultant. When she introduced herself to me I was already having a total melt down because I had to remove my makeup in order to try new products, but she was very sweet and helped comfort me. She even gave me a hug! She was very knowledgeable about the products that would help relieve the inflammation and cause minimal irritation to my skin. Sandra helped guide me in the right direction as to which skincare products would work best for my skin condition, because just covering it up with makeup would not have helped as much or may even make it worse. After a successful mini skincare tutorial, she found a vegan coverup palette and foundation that worked beautifully and helped to cover the redness. Sandra took her time and spent about 2 hours showing me everything and working with my needs. She was incredibly helpful and i'm very pleased with everything she suggested. I used the skincare products last night before going to bed, and this morning i cried happy tears because of the amazing improvement i've seen in my skin in just one night!! I will definitely recommend her to all of my friends and family. The only reason i'm giving this store a 4 star rating is because they did not have my color foundation in stock so i had to order it online. Otherwise, AMAZING experience!! read more

Granted it was the middle day of a 3 day weekend, and the store was busy - however, I had always been told that one of the great things about Sephora was their customer service. I am a cancer patient, 6 weeks into at least 18 weeks of chemo and now have terrific hair loss. I was wanted to purchase false eyelashes as well as purchase all that would be necessary or helpful in their use. I was told (with my good friend there for moral support as well as the whole false-eyelash 'thing' as were preparing for a big family event - our very fancy dresses from Nordstroms over our arms. We were told, in no uncertain terms, that APPPOINTMENTS were necessary, none were available, everyone was VERY busy now and that a minimum purchase was required for anyone to see us. Never again will I darken their door - however BOTH stores in Vegas are delightful. read more

I don't know what it is with Sephora workers but some can be absolutely nasty. Regardless of how much a "client" is willing to purchase.. you would think the worker would want to be helpful because 1. They get paid to work 2. I would assume they love what they do or.. get a new job? I get that giving samples may be annoying but it's part of your job. Its not like I went in merely to get samples. I left with a seventy dollar purchase but was treated so poorly in the store. I've spent over $800 at Sephora within the span of 4 months and I can hardly recall any good in-store experiences I've had. My most recent experience.. I spent more than half my time in the store looking for someone to help me. Half were actually helping someone and others were talking amongst one another. When I finally found someone to help me with a sample the worker was so rude. I couldn't remember the name of the sample but I told her it was part of the Sunday Riley collection. Instead of assisting me over to that section so I could point out which one it is.. she just stared waiting for me to remember what the product was called while rushing me saying "which one" multiple times. I know I should have gone in the store remembering what I wanted but I just forgot!!..and that's what workers are there for?? To help the client.. or so I thought. What was also disheartening was the fact that my friend pointed out that that worker had been so much nicer to a client before me. Why would I want to spend money on more products when the workers are treating me poorly. I went in with the intention of purchasing multiple products but left with two because I was so appalled by the service that I received. Its such a shame that the actual Sephora store is so close to my home but I feel more confident shopping Sephora online. read more

I met a darling angel today at Sephora! Her name is Katie and she more than made up for my bad experience there last time. About six months ago I went in to have my skin tone matched for new foundation. It did not go well. The girl was rude and the color she sold me was way too light. It was Nars, and the foundation also did this weird thing where it pooled in my pores (even with Pore-fessional primer). I've been frustrated about it, but kept using my old foundation and in between kept trying to make the new one work. I finally gave up and went in. I wasn't expecting a refund on a half used bottle, but it was no problem! They found my receipt on my beauty insider account and that was that. Anyway, I went in today and Edgar (a manager who was also a sweetheart and super helpful) introduced me to Katie. Not only did she find me a perfect foundation, she helped me with my whole list (great lipstick shade, two perfect blushes, a moisturizer that looks promising, and a couple of other little things). She was kind, funny, knowledgeable, and so professional. And then, even though the store was packed and there was a line wrapped around the store, the cashier was very nice and patient while looking up my receipt for my return. I have always loved every experience I have ever had at Sephora, the customer service outstanding friendliness is one of my main reasons for shopping at this company rather then other stores in the customer service area. As a consumer I am paying for a experience because I can purchase the product anywhere and I've always enjoyed my Sephora experience until now! I was not greeted when I walked in not only was I not greeted but I walked around for 10 minutes and still no greeting. I flagged down a specialist and asked if I could ask a quick question, she stated she was with a customer and if I needed help I needed to be put on a list. I didn't want any major assistance I literally just had a very quick question about a product and she insisted i needed a color match and I needed to add myself to the list. I kept declining the list because as stated before all I needed to know was yes or no, more of opinion from a specialist. Since I wasn't going to wait on a list I just got off of work I was tired didn't expect a intense visit. I walked to the cashier and asked for the return policy because of the fact I didn't get any assistance it's a big chance I will be returning the product. The cashier wanted me to elaborate on why I was dissatisfied and she wanted to assist me but there was a line and at this point I was over the whole situation. I truly appreciate the young lady that rung me up because she tried to give me some tips but she was on register so it wasn't much she can do. So I'm walking out and pass "Bobbi Brown" the cashier suggested I try their colors because of the warm tones they carry. I tried a couple and wasn't impressed I liked the product I got better. I had swatches of make up all over my hand from trying different colors independently. So I approach a specialist again that was standing in the front talking to another specialist (ironically it was so busy and such major emphasis on this "list" but the specialist has time to talk amongst themselves) but anyway o approached her and asked for the make up remover, INSTEAD of walking me to where I can find all the necessary tools to remove the make up from my hand she just sat there and pointed (which I was highly displeased with) I walked over to the beauty station she was referring to and didn't see any thing to use to take the make up off other then the remover itself which is a liquid and I needed something to wipe it with. I walked back over to the specialist that was still chatting with another specialist and informed her i was having a hard time finding the tools needed to remove this make up she looked at me like she didn't understand why I couldn't find it and FINALLY offered to assist. She wasn't willing to help she made me feel like a burden so I got extremely uncomfortable and just graded the remover and exited the store. Overall I felt like I was not treated fair at all, I deserved far better treatment and I am very dissatisfied with my experience. I will continue to shop at Sephora but will NEVER ever spend my money at this location I will take my money to Cerritos who has always had the Greatest customer service! Some feedback that I would love to suggest is although a "list system" is in place maybe there should be a specialist designated for answering brief questions guest may have that have limited time, Maybe there can be a person circling the store making sure they greet everyone that is in the store. I hope this feedback can be useful to the team that is strongly lacking in the customer service department. This incident took place over a month ago and I got a speedy response from the Customer care who said they will do what they can to resolve the issue. On Feb 28 Sephora Store director by the name of Edgar emailed me saying he would like to set up a time to speak to me about the issue at hand and offered me a beauty consultation. I emailed Edgar back to inform him I would definitely be open to that I left him with my contact information along with the BEST way to reach me and times. I never heard back from Edgar nor the Sephora guest services department so I reach out again via email to check the status of this issue and letting them know there still needs to be a resolution of some sort and since the store director had a lack of integrity and failed to follow through if I could escalate higher. They apologized and put some points on my rewards and promised a follow up in 72 hours. That was back on March 8th. I have YET to get this issue resolved and it has been OVER a month. I then went to Facebook to express my experience hoping someone will follow up. Instead of following up with me and making the situation they decided it was appropriate to BLOCK MY PAGE AND DELETE MY COMMENT. THIS has to be the most unprofessional and DISRESPECTFUL thing a reputable company could do. There are plenty reviews on the page that gave the store 1 star but for whatever reason they chose the black woman to be the review they delete. read more

I like this place, it's not a bad location. My gripe is that when you ask for help in skin care the staff is not helpful (granted they may not be trained enough, which isn't their fault). First they automatically direct you to the quiz you can take on touch screen at the back of the store and basically help you fill it out. Why even have staff then? I don't need someone to help people see a touch screen I clearly already see and take a quiz I have already taken that was absolutely no use to me. If I ask for help it's because I think you as a person might know something. They're pretty helpful with makeup but I do find it a little annoying I can't find anyone here that does more natural makeup, that would probably be able to give me advice. I mean if you're really into the karadsian (however you spell it) inspired, contour with nude lips, full face makeup thing, knock yourself out. But why does everyone look like that in here? Some of us want to keep it more natural and would like someone to help who does things a little more like us. The staff here really does try though and are very sweet. read more

I came to this sephora twice in the same week because I had to make a return. This was my first time coming to sephora, I'm a newbie with makeup and really wanted some help finding the right products. I wasn't greeted when I came in. I waited a couple of minutes to see if someone would approach me asking if I needed any help. Nothing. I work in customer service, I don't wait around for customers to come find me. I walked up to 3 employees who were all talking about their personal life, I know because I heard part of the story.... I stood there, made contact with a one lady, and she didn't acknowledge me. I was the one who had to interrupt their personal conversation to ask for help. Terrible customer service!!! I was ready and willing to spend some serious $$ because I was looking for an entire makeover. I ended up just buying 1 item. Which i ended up returning at the same sephora. & again I wasn't greeted when I came in. And 4 employees were gathered around, I asked for help & was told I needed to wait because they were doing a "check" I think someone was done with their shift so they were checking her purse. But I doesn't take 4 people to do that, they were all just chatting. Again terrible customer service. Never coming back! read more

Kinda disappointed with this sephora. Went here earlier to find myself a new perfume but one of the main reasons why I came in today was to get my birthday gift. Long story short, the guy helping me on the sales floor was very nice & helpful. The lady at the counter asked if I had the rewards card then looked up my info then asked if my birthday was on the 27th of this month then didn't even offer me the birthday gift. I forgot all about it after the purchase was completed then realized I forgot, walked back to the counter then the other lady said it probably didn't come up on the computer that my birthday was this month. I was like she asked if it was on the 27th of this month when she pulled up my info... WTF?!?! I practically had to beg for my birthday gift when I heard other people getting the little bell rang & all the workers greeting them cuz their birthday is also this month. I have never received this type of experience at the other locations. The guy who was helping me on the sales floor is the exception. read more

I came into Sephora a few days ago with my father getting a couple gifts people were everywhere and was super busy!. We got help in every department we went into everyone was so kind. Then we saw the line and was a little iffy of staying but we waited patiently. We got to the front waiting to be called up and your associate Courtney had the biggest smile on her face and said she can help us. Just made you feel better not only cause you were almost done but because you were welcomed with a smile. She asked if we wanted some samples for waiting in the long line and she can make us some. With this huge line behind us she took my father and I over to the gentleman's area told him about the different products from the lotion to shaving cream my father was smiling and joking with her(he normally doesn't) She came back with not just one but TWO samples he was amazed with her service and how she focused on us.
