    Yeah I'm surprised by the low rating also! I had a Great experience with my full face makeup application! I'm telling you.... Dianna (like the princess) ... She "ATE" my makeup application!!! TRANSFORMATIONAL!! I'll be back!!!

    The exchange policy that ALICIA refused to acknowledge or honor. The other Sephora subsequently processed the exchange; no questions asked.

    Had an infuriating experience with Alicia. Alicia refused to accept an exchange for a product purchased at the store, claiming that today is the 31st day after purchase, and purchases placed after the 30th day are ineligible for return or exchange - bear in mind that Thanksgiving was day before yesterday, thereby eliminating that day as a possible return/exchange day, which would in effect make today the 30th day. I informed her that the policy is not stated on the emailed receipt, and that it is required to be according to California Civil Code (I work as an attorney in Consumer Protection). She says, "oh it is on your receipt. It's on the website." ....... uh..... huh?? ... LOL.. yeah, so the first order of business would be to learn the difference between a receipt that is issued to the customer, and the website for the store. I informed her that even if it was the case that it was one day past the "deadline," as the manager, she has the discretion to process the transaction if she so chose to do so. She said "yeah and lose my job." .... Uh...seriously. If she is indeed a manager, she clearly has not been one very long. I informed her that my mother is elderly and unable to walk, and that it was her item, and I was trying to exchange it on her behalf; that it's only one day past the presumed "deadline;" that the return policy is not stated on the receipt; and that there was a holiday in between, in effect rendering today, the 30th day; and that she had the discretion to make an exception if she chose to do so. She still refused. An automaton would have had better customer service. We left; took it to Sephora in Emeryville, and they were so kind - made the exchange with no questions asked. FURTHERMORE - and I do not believe that it is possible that Alicia does not know this - there is an extended holiday return policy that is currently in effect! The link to which she directed me (their website) clearly states that purchases placed within the timeframe in which we placed this one are eligible for returns and exchanges until January (two months from now)! How could Alicia not know this? Why would Alicia insist on behaving so bitterly, hatefully, and ungraciously? What was really going on here? IMO, it really had nothing to do with any "policy." It felt very personal. She informed me that she's worried about her job retention (who says that to a customer? - I don't know her), but most experienced managers know that it is not a good idea to be penny-wise and pound-foolish. Poor, poor, inexperienced and unprofessional choices and behavior on the part of Alicia, which led to a completely unnecessary, infuriating experience for a long-standing customer. I have literally spent thousands of dollars at Sephora, and have been shopping there much longer than she has been working there. Sephora is struggling, and like most businesses, should be focused on customer retention. But this location will forever leave a horrible taste in my mouth because of Alicia. I will never return to this location.

    Went in here around 6 pm was kind busy but the service overall was quick , I liked the variety this store had and enjoyed looking around at the skincare products and perfumes . I always come here to get my favorite signature sunscreen and body products .

Being a fragrance lover who blends scents at home, I appreciated the clear, beautifully crafted guidance. The class balanced simplicity for beginners with deep educational insights. On top of that, their fragrance selection was unbelievable--literally a library of scents! They had over 700 options, from designer oils to pure essential and aromatherapy scents. As someone who's taken other classes with fairly small options, having such an eclectic, rare selection to choose from was next level. This was a perfect act of self-care after a busy weekend, and I left with new knowledge, a beautiful custom fragrance, and immense joy. This truly was a one-of-a-kind experience. Highly recommend! I love supporting local businesses and see myself being a frequent customer--probably will pop-in once or twice a month! I am excited to bring friends here for birthdays and special occasions. Already, planning to bring my husband for a date--so we can create a fragrance together! I'm just thrilled that something like this exists right here in the East Bay. Upon learning my scent profile, they helped me make bold but educated choices -- The one thing that I have come to terms with is that I love scents that work for me. I used to chase scents that were the "most popular" or "most attractive." However, our body oils change that profile a bit and the same scent does not smell the same on everyone. So although I do enjoy oud scents, not on me. So I told the workers there, "I like strong but subtle" and "I have some sweet scents in my armoire." Santal and Noir were previous purchase and the obvious choice would be something similar. However, a sweeter scent would also be obvious based off my collection at home (MFK 540 E, Carmina, etc.). The ladies here (on two different days) helped me decide on a scent (which I'll gate-keep) and I have loved it ever since. It smells amazing and I've received several compliments so far. Come here, be open to suggestions, and allow the scents to sit on your skin. I'd suggest coming here with no scented lotion or perfume on already and allow the oils to sink into your skin. Then maybe, you'll find out that the less "popular" scent works better for you than the Le Labo you smell on everyone else!

    I've been having allergy issues with lip products from big name brands (e.g., Lancome, Clarins,…read moreIlia) and found that they all contain red lake dyes such as CI 15850, etc. A big problem is that almost all lip tints use synthetic, red lake dyes for red and pink colors. After an extensive search, I found 100% Pure offers multiple shades of deep to bright red, purple-red, and light pink in lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip glazes! Most other brands can only offer red lake dye-free products in nude or clear colors. I was beyond stoked! And I found out that they were having a really great summer sale--items were 30%, 40%, or 50% off based on my receipt! One of my favorite things about this brand is that instead of products that taste like plastic, wax, or some other unknown substance, all my products actually taste like fruit, which is great given that they advertise being made of fruit juices and natural oils! The shelf life of their products is, of course, significantly less than other products that have preservatives, but honestly, I'd rather have cleaner ingredients and a shorter shelf-life. The store in-person had all the items that were out of stock online, too, which made my shopping experience that much better. I picked up a total of 7 lip products all in different shades and textures, which no other brand was able to offer me in that quantity for that quality. -- Additional things to note: - the store seems very hygienic: they have a sink where you can wash your hands, offer clean brushes and new, disposable lip product wands so you can try everything without using the wand in the tube, alcohol sprays, sanitizing sprays, tissues, etc. - the items that weren't fully red lake dye-free said "may contain", which doesn't necessarily mean they fully use it, but I didn't want to risk a reaction, so I steered clear of them anyway. - they have samples of everything--you can play around with literally every product and every shade! - dog-friendly (they even give treats!) - the location of the store is in a somewhat busy area, but if you scour the blocks, you're likely to find parking (pay by ParkMobile). I found a spot right in front of the store, and parallel parking was so easy into this spot because the road wasn't super busy. - they offer services, such as facials - the worker (I should have got her name) is so kind and won't push products on to you or make you feel rushed. I was in the store for a good 45 minutes at least, and she checked in once in a while, made herself available, but wasn't pushy or frustrated with how much time I took or how many products I sampled. -- I tried the Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Winecup, Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze in Elderberry, and the Fruit Pigments Lip Gloss in Pomegranate Wine, and none of them gave me an allergic reaction all day when I usually get a reaction within 30 minutes from other brands. I stopped in because I'm running low on my usual moisturizer and was planning to restock. I've been loyal to the same one for a while, but I recently fell in love with a different brand's face wash and was considering switching to their moisturizer as well. The only downside? It was significantly more expensive and my partner's immediate reaction was basically, "Expensive = no." Sensing my hesitation, a salesperson came over and offered to help. After I explained what I was looking for, she actually suggested a completely different brand. She gave me a sample to try, and even hours later, my skin still felt moisturized. The best part? It performed just as well (if not better) than the others I was considering and it was cheaper. What made the whole experience even funnier was that another customer nearby had the exact same dilemma. She overheard the recommendation and ended up grabbing the product too. At checkout, they were also giving out additional samples of the brands other products, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great experience thanks to thoughtful and helpful service. I told her I was returning an item and had originally paid with a credit card. She then took me aside with her handheld device and began to help me. Before we could continue, the manager came over and said she couldn't process my return there and that I needed to go back and wait in the regular line at the counter. By that point, the line had already become long and zigzagged again. I had already waited once, and being told to start over felt unfair and incredibly frustrating. I ended up leaving without completing my return. As a customer who had already done my part by waiting in line, I feel I should have been helped next at the counter instead of being sent to the back again because of an internal miscommunication.
