I had time to kill before my YEE at Left Bank so I stopped in to see if they had my favorite. Which is Rose Jam. To my surprise they expanded the offerings in this scent. The excitement on my face. It now comes in a body spray, oil perfume, solid perfume, bath bomb. Once upon a time it also came in a massage bar which had returned for over a decade. It used to be a seasonal scent. Only coming out around the holidays. Erin and Summer assisted me during my trip. Two super cool ladies. Lush does offer samples of certain items. I got a sample of the True Romance massage bar and the Rose Jam solid perfume. Lush products are all natural and handmade. If you have not tried their products please do. I doubt you regret it. You'll fall in love. read more

I ordered some goodies online to pick up in store shortly before the store opened. After signing up for texts I received a text about an hour later stating that my order was ready for pick up. That didn't take them much time at all to my happy surprise. See, it's the time of the year for gift giving and last minute shopping. With one of the items that I purchased being low in stock, you can count me in the crowd of folks that are last minute, but it's done :) the pick up process was fast. I waited in line very briefly, gave my name and showed my order ID from my texts and shortly after I had my bag of body care in hand. read more

First time in a Lush store and Erin made it absolutely MAGICAL! Knowledgable in EVERYTHING, she answered my questions, made suggestions, gave me generous samples of everything I wanted to try then even gave me a discount upon checkout and told me I could use it again the next time! She is a very sweet, kind and helpful associate of Lush. I believe she said she's been working for them for 16 or more years! That says a lot about the company and a lot about her! I did stop at one other location prior to this and couldn't even get the attention of one person working at that location so I left! My sister swears by the products but lives out of state so I decided to give it another try in Emeryville! I made an EXCELLENT choice! Lush in Emeryville, CA is a beautiful store, stocked to the brim, very clean, neat & well organized. And of course, Erin is a wonderful associate (I assume she's the store manager, or one of them) and I feel lucky to have met her! I hope the company knows how Lucky they are to have her as well!! I went home andI'll be a regular from here on out! I've already brought a friend and went back a second time! Can't wait to go again ! Thanks Lush, Erin, and the other associates I have yet to meet! Sincerely Jossie. =^..^= read more

UPDATE: So I finally decided to "treat myself" and try out my Lush Kit! Oh my goodness I feel sooo relaxed I can't remember the last time I've had such a luxurious bath! I smell like Lavender & Vanilla when I got out and no bath tub scum from the products afterwards. The bath bomb was really fizzy and between that and my cloud bubble bath soap, it turned my tub water into a beautiful purple ocean! This product can be a little pricey but if you want to indulge yourself and treat yourself like the Queen you are, I highly recommend this splurge! It was an awesome gift to myself on a rainy day!! read more

I Love coming in to this place! It always smells great. I can't wait to use my bath bimbs and face mask.

I was certain I'd left a review -- a glowing one -- years ago. I came with the intent of updating. Once upon a time... I visited with a pal. I have a number of allergies. I asked an obscure question about a specific ingredient. The whole team basically jumped on the research to get that answer! That was at least five years ago. They know! I visited recently and they were able to tell me because my tale became one of the legendary customer tales. They were always kind. I hope I was a kind customer. Regardless I've always felt safe shopping here. The staff is amazing. They deserve all the praise, kindness and sales. This is my favorite LUSH by far! read more

The perfect place to pick up a gift for a lady friend. The products here are super safe - no crazy chemicals or additives. The presentation on the packaging is always excellent, so the stuff here makes for great gifts. I've always been a fan of the smell of lavender myself, and they have a zillion lavender options. Street parking is scarce here, so its a difficult store to just pop into. If you want to spend a few bucks on parking, there's a large garage across the street. read more

Why is every single person who works at Lush in Bay Street so lovely and kind? It's such a pleasure to shop here. I visited recently to buy holiday gifts ... everyone who works here has such a lovely feeling. I particularly love how someone greeted me kindly and offered to help, but without any pressure. I also love that LUSH seems to hire queer staff and lets them be themselves. Good on you Lush, & good on whomever manages the Bay Street location! A joy to visit. read more

I am sad to give this store one star but today (12/30/21) was unacceptable. I have been shopping at this lush for a couple years but today the young woman working there did not represent the store well. I walked into the store at around 11:30am and the young woman was at the counter and looked up at me twice did not greet me but continued to watch me walk towards the shelf. I was one of three other women in the store, so there was not excuse. Then as I am looking at products she guides a woman towards the shelf I am at, the customer steps in front of me and then the attendant stand beside and begin having a conversation over me. As if I was not standing there. Beyond rude and disrespectful! I will never shop at this location again! I have worked in retail for 6 plus years, there is a way to work a store regardless of if you are alone or accompanied by another staff member! read more

Lush - Lush party! - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Emeryville, California

I haven't stepped into a Lush store in a while and I'm glad this was the first in a while. They are taking all the proper precautions due to COVID: a limited store capacity of 2 customers, hand sanitizer at the door, and masks are required. They even offer the option of shopping from the door if you know exactly what you want. An employee will grab them for you and do your transaction at the door. A great timesaver if you don't plan on browsing. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and there was a small line. Since the store capacity is capped at 2 customers at a time, there was a wait. The wait itself can be unpredictable since there isn't a shopping time limit for customers inside the store, so it's good to have some extra time on your hands just in case there is a line. All of their products are fully stocked and they still have the full range of bath & body products and face products. The employees here are very knowledgeable. I was only browsing the face masks at first and wondered which face mask would cater to my skin during the wintertime. After a couple of suggestions and recommendations from the girl that helped me, I ended up walking out with a jar of Mask of Magnaminty and a sample of Cosmetic Warrior. I originally came in to buy one thing, but ended up walking out with a total of 3 items in my bag! read more

This is going to be a really long review so to begin, I want to recognize the three people who this review is about: Teresa, Georgie, and Amy at the Emeryville Bay Street Lush .. they are amazing! To begin..... My manager gave me a small box of Lush products for Christmas last year (2021) in the fragrance Sleepy. I've never heard of Lush before but gave it a try. The quality and wholesomeness of the products were unbelievable. Highly recommend everything from the Sleepy collection. Fast forward to April 2022, my daughter and I were walking through Bay Street Mall and happen upon a Lush brick and mortar. We went in and that is where we met Amy. Amy was incredibly welcoming and offered amazing recommendations, my fav was Full of Grace, a portobello based serum she even let my daughter pick out a full sized bath bomb to try out in a large basin to help her make a decision on which she would like. The customer service Amy provided was stellar. I couldn't wait to use my serum and other samples I received, Amy said that they are encouraged to offer samples as it enhances customer experience and satisfaction (I paraphrased there, but it really did enhance the entire experience). I also bought a really cute lotion bar called Charity Pot and the proceeds go to charity around forest, animals, or people. I even remembered as I was leaving that I meant to get a shower steamer, and she handed it to me and said "on the house." That is the level of genuine kindness that Lush provides. Amazing people work here. I loved the Emeryville Lush so much that I took my sister in law to Lush in Walnut Creek a month later in May, since we happened to be in the area. What a difference in atmosphere. It was the complete opposite experience. They seemed to not have time to answer my questions which made me feel like I was being a bother, and I tried to ask two different people the same question as I kept being handed off to someone else, and I was getting two different answers. They were also not very open to giving samples. I really loved the Full of Grace Serum I had got back in April from Emeryville and couldn't stand to give my money to a place that made me feel like a nuisance. Now come to present day.. today. Took my daughter to Emeryville Lush at Bay Street and it was a breath of fresh air. Warmly welcomed by a Lush team member named Teresa when we walked in, asked if there was anything we were looking for, provided demos and samples of things we were interested in, and I was able to buy my serum. Amy was there and I was able to thank her for her recommendation and let her know that because of the sample, I came back for the full size. I told Teresa that I had no idea I needed that serum when I had first come into Lush a few months ago and asked her if she has any recommendations of 'mush have' products. She shared a facial scrum with me and gave beautiful explanations, and gave me a sample of Bright and Beautiful to take home. I'm sure to go back for the full size soon! It's an AMAZING product. As I was checking out, I had the opportunity to meet another wonderful team member named Georgie, as Georgie was ringing me up, Teresa brought a beautiful gift box to the counter and said to me and my daughter she wanted to give this to us because we were so kind and a pleasure to work with today and she also said she was also bummed when I had told her about our last experience in Walnut Creek. All Lush stores have incredible, stand up products, so it's not a matter of which store has better stuff... it's a matter of the people. People are who make the experience and Lush in Emeryville is the full package. I want to thank Teresa, Georgie, and Amy for making my and my daughter's day. They have a lifelong customer. I am truly grateful. read more

I come in to this store even when I don't think I need anything because I love the staff. You're all bright, lovely, knowledgeable people who never fail to make my day. Today, I came in with no particular list, and left spending almost $80 on some great stuff. A lovely woman was able to walk me through the face masks and more-- I used one tonight and I can literally see what she described the benefits would be already. My partner loved it, too. I'm sorry I have to give them a negative review but I clearly see people shopping inside of the store the representative tells me I can't come in even though they don't close until 7pm. Maybe you should change your hours to 6:30pm if you want to leave early from work. You should never close your doors a quarter before you have scheduled hours because you don't want to help customers after 6:30pm. I'll stick to ordering online since now a days no one has customer service skills anymore. read more

For the uninitiated, Lush stores...with all their bright colors, bold shimmers, and dizzying array of products in unapologetic scents...can definitely be a bit overwhelming. The ladies and gents that staff the Bay Street location though, are top notch! Having heard so much about Lush from a gushing coworker, last year I had decided to take a peek and check them out purely out of curiosity...and the staff were super happy share with me all about their products! Moreover, I never felt like I was being pressured into buying anything in particular- the folks here are just as content to tell you the finer details of their jiggly-fun shower jellies and the earth-conscious shampoo bars as they are with directing you your umpteenth sakura bath bombs (my future favorite treat-yoself-pleasure!) Recently I've been noticing Lush holds sort of these "outreach" events. Perhaps once a month an afternoon will be set aside for guests to come in and enjoy making a quick craft. Last time around Halloween it was stamp decorating canvas totes, and this month you could make your own adorable butterbear bear bath bomb! It was super cool to be able to get some hands on experience making a bath bomb with your very own bear mold tray to take home...all for free! Definitely would recommend everyone to check them out! =) read more

Whenever I need something from Lush, the Bay Street location is my favorite place to go. I went to pick up some Dream Cream and when I walked in I was immediately assisted by Brianna. She led me to the body lotions and explained each one to me. She even brought me a container of Charity Pot which wasn't with the other lotions. If you have really dry skin or even eczema, Dream Cream could be what you need. Made of oatmeal milk, lavender and chamomile, it smells nice and is not greasy. Best part is that no Lush products are ever tested on animals! For some, it may be a down side that it is a bit on the liquidy side. I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Thank you to Brianna (apologies if I've spelled your name wrong) for your professionalism and patience. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

My posse and I went here because you could smell the most wonderful fragrance wafting out to us on the sidewalk, our friend told us we would love everything there and we did! we must have been in there for over 45 minutes just smelling the soaps and testing lotions and fragrances of every kind, everything is so colorful and very beautifully hand made fresh and no animal testing. Loved all the lotions and soaps and bath bombs so pretty and smelled amazing. A fantastic place to pick up some gifts for your mother or sister who ever receives these gifts will not to disappointed. Stocking stuffers and baby shower gifts or party favors everyone will enjoy receiving these special treats, And the ladies there were very knowledgeable on the products I know I appreciate my questions being answered. Stop by you'll love it like we did! Cheers SYOY read more

The lush smells lured me in much like a cartoon character to a freshly baked pie. I was drawn to all the colors and smells-- all of which made my trip into the store well worth it. Other than that, I wasn't really looking for anything in particular. But I have to say the customer service was on point. The sales lady knew her stuff, thoroughly answering every question I asked her. She could sell me a pencil if we were at a stationary store. A big selling point for me was the exfoliating capacity of one of the soaps. I ended up purchasing Sandstone, a citrusy scrubby soap. The exfoliating scrub is the outer layer of sand and the citrus smell comes from the litsea cubeba oil derived from an evergreen tree native to China and other Southeast Asian countries. At ~$7 per 1/4 lb., most of the soaps can cost you a pretty penny, but depending on how long it lasts and if it serves its purpose, it could be worth it for you. **No harm in trying it out for yourself** I was suggested to try a small amount to test it out first before committing to a larger size. The sales lady also suggested not to keep it exposed to water (sitting in a non-draining soap dish). This is so that it lasts longer because the soap breaks down faster in water. Keeping it dry is the key! With the excellent customer service and my Sandstone soap in hand, I couldn't wait to lather up! read more

If you'd like to pamper yourself and make bath cocktails or if you have sensitive skin like mines this is the place for you! No big brands or commercial synthesized ingredients, Lush products are all natural made with Fair trade ingredients. This review is far outdated as I've been a faithful customer at my local Lush (Bay Street), nearly a decade now. The smell of this store will lure you in and the bath products will keep you coming back. The range of products goes from face to bath essentials for men and women. I love the toners, masks, face creams, bath bombs, bath oils, body powder, and bubble bars. I'm a self proclaimed Lushie now, so I've literally tried some of everything here and I cannot get enough nor complain about one thing. If something doesn't work the guys and girls go above and beyond to help cure skin ailments. The staff is always pleasant and well educated on the range of products. They hold new releases or low stock items when I need and load me up on samples to keep me coming back. The only bummer is that the availability and price of Fair trade ingredients fluctuates due to agricultural or economic reasons - this sometimes leads to products (some of my faves), being discontinued :( so if you like something that isn't always in stock make sure you stock up and ask for a book! They keep you updated on the new and retiring products! read more

I'm a recent convert to Lush products as I've been making an effort to support more companies that are against animal testing. Their products are cruelty free and high quality bath & body items. While they are well known for their bath bombs, the scrubs, soaps and lotions are not to be overlooked. I came in looking for a body scrub and was greeted by staff who asked me a few questions and then showed me some options. Everyone I encountered in the store was friendly and genuinely wanted to help me pick the right product. They are also enthusiastic about their inventory and can articulate what's good for certain skin types, needs, etc. I ended up purchasing Crystal Magic body scrub which I absolutely love. They also sent me off with a sample of another scrub that I'm excited to test out. Service like this and great bath & body options will keep me coming back to Lush. 5 stars all the way for the staff & products at this location. read more

I just appreciate them opening again. Since Covid is not letting up all social distancing and mask wearing are required upon entering the establishment. Also is a disinfectant station to sanitize hands in between customers. They are limiting 3 to 4 people at a time since the building Is small. All products are still available in good quantities. Some of the best classic products are my sister and I go-to scents. Colorful Bath Bombs, bubblyBath bars and skin care items line the walls of the store. The smells are intoxicating. Rose jam body wash is by far the best thing you can ever inhale! It's a bit pricey compared to other body washes but let me tell you. It is nothing in comparison! Your skin will thank you for the all day moisture; and everyone will be swooning over the way you smell. The kindest staff out there! I come in every couple days to get a thing or two and the staff remembers me and my pet and always greets me with the biggest brightest smiles. From samples to thorough walk throughs of products I haven't tried or even just good conversation! I had the luck of going in one day and talking with Mubeenah, Amy, Nina, and Teresa. I only got the name of 4 staff members but I want to be clear, all of them are sweet and deserve credit for being so stellar. Yeah this place is a rip off. I've barely been to lush a handful of times the last few years and I just can't stand the pretentiousness! The perfume is ok, but the way the workers upsell you by just lying is almost painful at times to have a conversation with them, and the products are loaded with dyes, sulfates and crap even though they claim to be super natural (the perfume is about the only truly natural thing, and some of the ridiculously expensive creams that are mostly Shea and cocoa butter, which you can buy organically and in bulk for way less and make your own). Also it's overpriced and mostly broken and the lip balm "sample" was just insulting. Like I literally just dropped $100 and you can't even include a $10 lip balm as a sample? You have to popsicle stick scrape me out a tiny chunk? For real? read more

Ok I love lush and their products, but they really need to have bigger stores because it's too compacted and no room to walk around when people are in there. The capacity has to be like 10 comfortably. The biggest issue was the smell. It smells good but it's so strong that when I even opened my mouth to breathe or talk, i'd cough. It was like the particles in the products were in the air and in your face. Let's air out the place and open it up lol. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would !!! So today , Valeria (My 3year old ) and I went to bay st. Just to visit LUSH for bath bombs that she had been asking for . We got there at 10am right when they opened up for business. When we walked up the the door . A man (Michael) walked up to greet us he poked his head out the door with hand sanitizer. Then proceeded to tell me only one person at a time in the store . I looked at him as if he was joking and was getting ready to laugh . I couldn't take him seriously, as I clearly had a child on my arm . He then told me "she Can wait outside and watch you through the window ..." i could not believe what he had just said !! I looked him in the eye and said "excuse me ???!" " Im sorry but you clearly see this is a small toddler child ! Right !?" He said nothing other than yes sorry but one person at a time . Mind you, no other shoppers were in the store . How in the world would anyone expect anyone to leave a child outside ! On the street ALONE !! like do you have 0 children . Better yet do you know what kind of world we live in ? You want me to leave a little innocent girl outside for someone to kidnap her !?! I walked away and then returned seconds after to get more information from a manager! She then told me her name Makaela Samson ! She was the assistant manager telling me again to leave Valeria outside as I went in . No one was apologetic, or sympathetic about this . Instead they were smiling and trying to be cute about the situation. As if my child waiting outside a store was normal . I emailed both the store manager and her boss as well. I cannot believe these people though . Never going to bay st lush again. !!! I hope this reaches to lush corporate office !!! read more

Believes it or not, childrens, The Mad Hattrix grew up a tomboy: tangled, wind-blown hair, dirty nails, warts, scabby knees, scuffed elbows, and windburned cheeks. Mom had to threaten me by using my first AND middle name (because that's when you know you're in trouble, right?) and bribe me with ice cream in order to tame my tresses for family portraits or high holidaze. During my H.S. and College years, I didn't wear make up - unless I had to for a pep rally, dance concert, play or musical. My off-duty outfit was more often than not a pair of mens pajamas, Birkenstocks, and a secretarial bun stuck full of pens and pencils, for easy access. I suppose that the Ghost of Girlie Years Past has been haunting me in spades, because clearly I have been overcompensating for all those un-ladylike years. Dearest friend and consummate gentleman about town, Wanugee N. has raved about Lush for as long as he's been lamenting it! Total double-edged sword situation. An unavoidable melange of of Willy-Wonka-esque olfactory sweetness wafts from the petite shoppe and mesmerizes you with hybridized curiosity and WTF is that smell??? The merch ain't cheap and if the Cadet had been born a daughter, I'd be broke indulging my child with bath bombs at $6.25 a pop. The merchANDIZING is brilliant and targets the young, the girly, the huggers of trees, and those who are comforted by knowing they can apply product and make a snack out of it as well. I did a test run out of curiosity and some obligatory Festivus giftage... The Avobath Bath Bomb is my favorite so far; the water feels soft, silky, and the fragrance dissipates to an herbal-lemongrass level that is very relaxing. I followed that with a Big Buffy, which smells odd at first, but believe the cheery staffer told me contained white chocolate and was very moisturizing. I do smell like an Asian Confection of sorts; my skin is milky soft and will absolutely defeat the winter weather. Note to self and others: Don't use these products before you go out to eat - it will destroy your palate and olfactory abilities, entirely. Save the aromasplosion for later! read more
