Stop off during my lunch. There was a sign on the door- saying they were close. Odd, it's 1245pm. There was a small line forming outside the door. A Sephora worker, short, lady no make up with glasses comes to the door, opens the door and says rudely we are close, and i said yes i read the sign, I asked until what time and she says "I don't know" and I said-maybe you should put that on your sign and she said I would if I knew the time and shuts the door on me. No reason to be rude. If rudeness is your specialty, you are definitely in the wrong field. Maybe a sign with a little more details, "payment system down, closed indefinitely". Or "medical emergency" something so we, as customers can come to our own conclusion. No info + being rude = won't be back. Hope your manager appreciates one less customer. Sebastian went above and beyond to help me find my new favorite perfume. He searched high and low for the 1 oz bottle I was hoping for. Unfortunately that size was not in stock, but he explained that the refill pack has the size I was looking for AND is a far better deal than what I was originally looking for. He also helped my mom find a perfume trial set. We left the store feeling so excited about our purchases and we couldn't stop raving about how helpful and knowledgeable Sebastian is about perfumes and EDTs. REVIEWER # 8 Sephora, yes! I think I found my new favorite location! The customer service at this location was exceptional (Better than what I have experienced in other JCPennys)! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away! Check! I was on a mission to look for the powder and matte makeup that I recently tried on but was in need of the color #218 and unfortunately, that is a popular color and many of the stores are always sold out. This Sephora was one of them. The assistant that was helping me, Jessica, didn't give up on me, luckily. She looked in the drawers to see if there were any in there and once she confirmed that they were indeed sold out, she called the other Sephora store in the mall to see if they carried it. (Talk about great customer service!). The other store confirmed that they had the product and Jessica was able to tell them to put it on hold for me. My girlfriend paid for her items at the front counter and was able to receive assistance from Carissa, who rung us up. Carissa started discussing about samples that the store was having and I was so excited, (free samples always excite me!) Carissa was nice to give me one! Overall, my girlfriend and I left satisfied and really was happy about the service at this Sephora. Their makeup products are not the cheapest but they do have some really good face powder that I have been addicted to since I tried it two weeks ago! Came in to grab a few items I wanted online, hoping it'll be here. Thank God I did all my window shopping online before coming in here because customer service here DO NOT EXIST! I was looking at Benefits cosmetics and needed some help with the right color and if there was more stock hidden somewhere... but none of the ladies came. Didn't even greet me. No eye contact. Acted like I wasn't standing right next to the register. I mean I'm only 5 steps away from them while they're just talking to each other. The only nice employee was the one who just started her shift & rang me up. If I didn't need this kat von d eyeliner for sure I woulda just left the damn store. Walking in, I intended to look at lip products but was not amazed at anything I tried on. I'm bad with names but the sales associate, who had short hair and wore a pink choker, was awesome! She color matched me in the foundation I wanted and introduced me to the wonderful world of highlighters. This location is convenient and the staff is young and up on current trends. The girls working were making ageist comments and probably weren't aware of the older women in the store. You shop at Sephora because you want to feel good yourself, not to hear some millennial judge you based on your age. read more

I didn't like the girl name Larissa. Her service was not good. I bought the thin lipstick hourglass and her didn't asked do I have a membership card or not. After she told me the price and then I asked her can I add the phone number and then she said if I want to get points I had to call .... and then they will asking about the recipe... she didn't asked do I want a bag or not. Wth. After that I walk down stairs and had really bad mood about her so I came back and returned the lipstick with cost $39. I dislike this Sephora for many reasons. It seems like they never have enough employees working or something. I've came here several times looking for make up and I've even had my make up done for free when they were launching a new product. First of all, OMG my make up was HORRIBLE and so was my friends. It looked like she purposely tried to make me look bad. We were so embarrassed to walk around the mall afterwards... It was THAT bad. They should have more experienced people working there doing make up.... Another time I was looking for a product because the regular sephora didn't have it in stock. I called the jcpenny's sephora to see if they had it and they simply said they didn't have it in stock. I went to the store just in case, and of course, I found it. Right in front of the register. And there were multiple left. Ridiculous. I'm assuming they didn't bother looking or didn't look hard enough. Lazy customer service right there. Lastly, every single time I come here, the customer service is horrible. It's like they're taking their time and not acknowledging there's people waiting. The other night was the last time I will go there. The lady said she would color match me in a foundation I was looking to buy. The phone rang so she had to help the phone customer. I understood that she had to answer the phone, that didn't bother me, but then she rung up TWO employees and chatted with them for a long time. She even started making a sample for the employee while I was obviously waiting. I understand she needs to help others, but she shouldn't chat and take her time AND make samples for EMPLOYEES while regular customers are patiently waiting. I just went in here cause I parked in this area and didn't want to walk over to the main Sephora store. Uhhh - big mistake. There were 2 people on duty... they were gossiping while helping each other do - I don't know what exactly. I wasn't greeted upon arrival. I stood next to them and wasn't asked if I needed assistance. I waited to see if they would shut up with their gossip and act professional for 1 second to ask me if I needed anything... but they never did so I had to break up their session. Even after doing so - they acted like I was bothering them. They were not friendly AT ALL. Sorry I had to bother you at work so you can actually work! I love coming to this Sephora especially when Carissa and Jessica are working. I am so sad that Jessica is no longer going to be working here. She always had great customer service very friendly and always helped me and gave me suggestions. I asked one of the employees for a price check of an eyeshadow palette, which she did, but proceeded to show me a sale they were having that was two eyeshadow palettes for the price of one! I came in here on a whim after being too intimidated to ask the employees at the other Sephora in the mall if they could do the Color IQ test on me. (I don't know why I'm always intimidated by them, Sephora employees are always so polite...) I saw that this Sephora was more compact and had fewer people, so I figured I could take my time browsing. Somehow I managed to muster up the courage to ask the employee here to do the Color IQ test on me and she was very patient as she explained the process to me, asked me what kind of foundation I was looking for, found some recommendations for me, and swatched the shades on my neck. I've read online that you should ask Sephora employees for samples before purchasing something because it's free and it allows you to make sure that the product truly works on you, but again, I was too shy to ask for a sample and thought maybe I should just purchase the product so she wouldn't think that I was wasting her time but she asked me if I wanted a sample so it worked out! Sephora can be for awkward and shy people too! So far, I have been loving the foundation that she recommended for me! I wish I had gotten her name but she was very knowledgable and I heard her giving skincare and makeup recommendations to other customers as well. read more

I actually like this store a lot more. I came today, and the girl that was working was on the phone trying to get the credit card machine back online. So I waited for a bit, then she moves to the register and turns to me and says "sorry". I told her it was fine because it wasn't her fault that the register wasn't working. I tried returning something but apparently, sephora can't return stuff without a credit card! Oh well, I went home, grabbed my credit card and came back. I only go to this one now because I really refuse to go back to the one in the mall (after my last review). The girl tells me that maybe the main sephora store would be able to take the return w/o a credit card. I grit my teeth and stepped in. Blargh! First I went to the Sephora that's the whole store near Nordstrom and none of the workers were particularly were interested in helping me and my friend. No one smiled at us and offered to help, and we asked for help and they said to wait 15 minutes but then just forgot about us. I just said, screw it, let's try the one in JC Penny, and I'm so glad we did. Michelle was AMAZING and she gave me great recommendations, she showed me how to use the products, she was knowledgable, and SO nice and friendly. She made me feel so relaxed and when I was being insecure about my wrinkles or how I put on my brow, she was reassuring and made me feel a lot better about myself. So I just went in there to look around and this lady (I wish I got her name) she asked me if I needed help with anything and I told her I was just looking around.. she gave me the dirtiest look ever! Like what did I do! I wasn't rude or anything. Well whatever so I was just looking around and I had a question about a product so I asked this other lady (I believe she was Caucasian) she was super nice and friendly but she couldn't find the product I was looking for so she asked the other lady (there were only two ladies on duty btw) and after telling me "oh we don't carry it. did you want me to call the other store?" I said "no thanks.. I will just go in there myself" she looks at me for 10 seconds.. and gives me a dirty look again like I shouldn't shop in there or something. I wanted to purchase few things but I felt SO uncomfortable I left. I wish I got her name. This is the worst Sephora that i've ever been to. I asked to get matched for a foundation and after waiting some time I was finally able to get someone to help me since there was only one person working at the time. The girl (I didn't get her name) used this match indicator thing to match me which honestly did an awful job of matching my shade. I could've done a better job at doing it myself by just swatching shades on my face to neck like employees do at regular Sephoras. The foundation picked out was too dark. After, she had to help some other customers and left me for the foundation to oxidize which I was okay with. What bothered me was that after she was done helping the customers she passed me off to her co worker that returned from break. (I initially had asked her but she passed me off to this girl cause she had to go on break and now she was gonna pass me back to the girl i asked first) LOL. Ugh. Unless you already know what you want, don't come here for help. They are understaffed and lack experience. Finally, I gave up told them i'll just look for the right shade myself and as I left they both chuckled as I walked out the store. Seriously?
