I've been having allergy issues with lip products from big name brands (e.g., Lancome, Clarins, Ilia) and found that they all contain red lake dyes such as CI 15850, etc. A big problem is that almost all lip tints use synthetic, red lake dyes for red and pink colors. After an extensive search, I found 100% Pure offers multiple shades of deep to bright red, purple-red, and light pink in lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip glazes! Most other brands can only offer red lake dye-free products in nude or clear colors. I was beyond stoked! And I found out that they were having a really great summer sale--items were 30%, 40%, or 50% off based on my receipt! One of my favorite things about this brand is that instead of products that taste like plastic, wax, or some other unknown substance, all my products actually taste like fruit, which is great given that they advertise being made of fruit juices and natural oils! The shelf life of their products is, of course, significantly less than other products that have preservatives, but honestly, I'd rather have cleaner ingredients and a shorter shelf-life. The store in-person had all the items that were out of stock online, too, which made my shopping experience that much better. I picked up a total of 7 lip products all in different shades and textures, which no other brand was able to offer me in that quantity for that quality. -- Additional things to note: - the store seems very hygienic: they have a sink where you can wash your hands, offer clean brushes and new, disposable lip product wands so you can try everything without using the wand in the tube, alcohol sprays, sanitizing sprays, tissues, etc. - the items that weren't fully red lake dye-free said "may contain", which doesn't necessarily mean they fully use it, but I didn't want to risk a reaction, so I steered clear of them anyway. - they have samples of everything--you can play around with literally every product and every shade! - dog-friendly (they even give treats!) - the location of the store is in a somewhat busy area, but if you scour the blocks, you're likely to find parking (pay by ParkMobile). I found a spot right in front of the store, and parallel parking was so easy into this spot because the road wasn't super busy. - they offer services, such as facials - the worker (I should have got her name) is so kind and won't push products on to you or make you feel rushed. I was in the store for a good 45 minutes at least, and she checked in once in a while, made herself available, but wasn't pushy or frustrated with how much time I took or how many products I sampled. -- I tried the Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Winecup, Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze in Elderberry, and the Fruit Pigments Lip Gloss in Pomegranate Wine, and none of them gave me an allergic reaction all day when I usually get a reaction within 30 minutes from other brands. I had the pleasure of getting a hydradermabrasion facial performed by Vivian and I absolutely loved it. This was my first time getting any serviced performed at 100% pure and the location is nice and calm. The process was was therapeutic and had great results on my skin. I have acne prone skin that is also dry so during my consultation with Vivian I let her know my biggest concern was my texture and she not only performed the hyrdadermabrasion but also customized a mask for me and really tailored this entire facial to meet all of my needs. After the service, my skin was glowing and I noticed a visible difference in the overall brightness of my skin and hydration so much so that i felt like my fine lines were less visible. Unreliable shipping during the holiday season. I ordered 5 ($25) body washes on Dec. 6th in order to receive by Christmas. Order never arrived. I called and left two voice mails, did not receive a call back. So I called the Berkley, CA store and the nice agent offered to give me a refund as she checked my tracking number and apparently, my items got lost. If I were notified early on that there would be a delay in shipping, it would have helped, as the items I purchased were Christmas gifts. I had to scramble last minute to buy alternate gifts which caused a big inconvenience. I am a new customer and have only purchased a couple of times before, but during non-holiday season. I came in for a Vitamin C facial here at 100% Pure and had a very pleasant experience! I recently just started to get facials regularly and this one was by far my favorite. The facial services are held in a nice clean room in the back of the shop with a relaxing ambiance and music. After filling out a questionnaire, I was brought in and was taken care by Vivian! She is absolutely an amazing esthetician. Vivian assessed my skin and gave me some options on which type of facial would be best for me and went with the Vitamin C blast which definitely left my skin feeling healthy and vibrant! I was able to feel relaxed as soon as she began and explained what she was going to do every step. Vivian is super knowledgeable with the products as she described what is being applied as well as the purpose of each. I also thoroughly enjoyed the shoulder, neck, arm and hand massage with the right amount of pressure. Her professionalism and attention to detail wants me to come back to her for my future facials. After many years, I was convinced to do my first facial and what a pleasant experience it was. It being my sister's wedding in two days, I was a bit hesitant, but the employees at 100% pure were super informative and friendly. My friend recommended me to 100% pure and suggested that I do the Vitamin C blast with Nora. Parking: There's plenty of meter parking outside. I went a block or two farther to park at 2 hour zones. I believe 2hr limit ends at 7pm. My facial was 1hr and 15mins so it worked out fine. Location: Located in a very nice neighborhood. It felt like a local shop and the vibes were just very lively. The store itself felt very boutique, clean, and vibrant. Props to the floor decorator!! Experience: Upon arrival, I was greeted by the two employees who offered me water. My facial was done by Nora. Since this was my first one, I had a lot of questions about how this works, is it going to be painful, what does each thing do to my face? Why do people get facial? As you can see, it really was my first time, and I've been just using water and soap my entire life haha. Nora was super knowledgeable, not only did she answered my questions, but answered them in a way I would understand. Also, Nora probably had one of the most smoothest and gentle hands ever. The entire session was really great, although the extraction part was kind of painful (warned by Nora), my face felt really smooth and clean. Went in for the first time today to get some mascara. Wow! I'll be coming back. Lan was so helpful and sweet. I had so many questions about the products and she guided me right through. These products are awesome. The mascara looks better than most conventional mascaras even and you can't beat the purity. What a sweet little shop with a wonderful purpose! *Update. I've become a 100% pure addict. I can't recommend their moisturizers enough...so good. The superfruit is great for making pores look smaller and cleaner. The coffee cherry is great for making you look awake, goes on nicely under make-up and smells like heaven. Lip colors are great....I just like to lightly dab them on and then rub my lips together...this way it functions as a stain (lasting several hours) that really improves the quality of my lips. They never get chapped anymore and this product doesn't gather in the corners or get goopy. I have 100% less break outs since using this line. That's right...it totally cleared my skin. Disclaimer: I am not a vegan. I am not a vegetarian. I don't shop organic and I don't shop at Whole Foods. But I fell in love with this store. More precisely, my hair did. It's a bit of a long winded story, but someone I know who has beautiful hair told me she only uses organic natural shampoo. Thus was raised my curiosity. Can organic natural shampoo do the things l want shampoos to do? Cleanse my hair, not dry it out, and make it behave? I have naturally wavy hair that has a mind of its own. One afternoon I walked into the store, really just to kill time, but I decided to try their shampoo. It is 100% natural and 100% vegetarian. The sweet sales lady (whose petite physique and unique style remind me of a blonde version of Lisbeth Salander from the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) told me the shampoo is less sudsy than conventional shampoos and takes a little getting used to. She suggested I try a travel size version of it together with the conditioner. After two weeks, my hair is soft, my scalp is not dry or itchy, and my hair behaves! I still have to use a bit of my magic product, but I love it. All their products are natural and made with food grade material. Every time I use the sugar body scrub (blood orange, yum!) I have to exercise restraint to not put a spoonful in my mouth. But I probably could. A lot of the products are also 100% organic, and they offer products specialized for kids. In addition to the concept and the quality of the products, I appreciate the overall sense of commitment to be good to our environment and to ourselves. Their ratings on the good guide are average so be sure to read up before you purchase since it might change your mind. I went here after my boyfriend complained about my Dr Bronner's magic soap being too minty. I wanted a natural alternative and saw their buy 3 get 1 free deal. (super awesome by the way) We also snagged some samples of their body scrub in a shallow mirrored pot that the girl behind the counter nicely handed to us. Who knew Mangosteen could be that awesome?!? Settled on the Mangosteen Body Wash and White Peach Nourishing Body Cream - all of this smelled like heaven. My friend also got the Honey Almond and Mangosteen Nourishing Body Cream. I wish the smell was more than subtle, and that the body cream was a little more moisturizing. My skin absorbed it very fast though so no sticky after feel. Overall? 4 stars for the in-store experience. Yay for more natural products, but I can't help but feel a little green-washed when I look at the ingredients and at their review on goodguide. It wouldn't hurt if they had a sink in-store either. I'm a huge fan of these products. HUGE! I would be their brand ambassador but they are based in San Jose. I'm a devout daily sunscreen wearer, and I've been on the lookout for a good sized bottle of 20 or 30 SPF for the face that doesn't clog my pores, is relatively affordable, and has zinc oxide or any other *physical* sunscreens. My boyfriend is terribly, terribly allergic to chemical sunblocks, so I have to be overzealous about my skincare ingredients. I found their products for the first time at the Beauty Center on Piedmont, and was very impressed with it. I'd run out, and sort of forgot about it, but when when I was doing my Jeremy's/Gordo's ritual (Why yes, I have a Jeremy's/Gordo's ritual) I found their most awesome sunscreen again. I haven't tried a lot of their eye makeup, but I can vouch for face and body products. The shop is nice, testers, mirrors and space galore, peaceful with just one person working who patiently answers questions. I am now completely addicted to their Pineapple Scrub in addition to both 20 and 30 SPF facial lotions they carry, and I keep getting into more of their products. I would almost be tempted to order online, even thought I live in Oakland, because as some people mentioned this area can be very congested with traffic. I just love that their stuff is so good smelling, preforming, and local, without even making the natural component of 100% Pure the best part. The stand out is how great their products are, but the fact they do all of this with good natural ingredients is even MORE awesome. This is going to be a lengthy review-- you've been warned. After a year of dry, sensitive eyes that require me to wear my glasses and not contacts 75% of the time, I decided to give away my old makeup and only put healthful things onto/into my body. I'm a huge fan of Into The Gloss, and noticed that a bunch of the Top Shelf interviewees were mentioning this "fruit-based organic skincare line 100% Pure". I saw that the store was in Berkeley (I live in SF), did some online store stalking and decided to Bart to the store after work last week. I don't wear lots of makeup; I'm more of an eyeliner/mascara + some good lip balm or lipgloss sort of girl. No lipsticks, no foundation/tinted moisturizer/CC cream, blush or any of that. The girls working in the store were helpful, pointing out everything and letting me sample a bunch of lipglosses/body creams and stuff. One of the girls seemed kind of rude/apathetic but the other girl was super sweet and helpful, running around to show me where everything was. I was in love with 100% Pure's selection of lipglosses and eye products. Over the course of two in-store visits, I purchased their Black Tea pigmented mascara, Dark Chocolate liquid eyeliner, Garnet gemmed lip gloss, chocolate/champagne dual ended creamstick and Burdock & Neem healthy scalp shampoo. I'm VERY pleased with all of these items and since I didn't order online and am thus not a "Verified Buyer", I'm going to review all of these products here :) (no need to read below if you're not into verbose, rambling reviews)-- Black Tea Pigmented Mascara: This is not the best mascara in the world. That being said, I've never met a mascara that didn't flake a little, and this one does NOT clump my lashes into those awful triangles. My lashes seem longer from two weeks ago, but I attribute this to the nightly old-pressed castor oil "masks" I put on my lashes/brows, not the mascara. It also has a nice, blueberry-fruity smell! Lastly-- I'm writing this review at 4pm today, and I applied one coat of mascara at 8am, attended an intense, sweaty Soul Cycle class in the morning, then showered and spent 15 minutes in a steam room. The mascara has flaked a bit (easy to brush away) but is still there! Dark Chocolate Liquid Eyeliner: I LOVE this eyeliner. It's a dark brown with gold flecks and does NOT come off. I use it on my upper lashline and it also has endured my hot, sweaty day (^above) with NO smearing on my lid. That being said, it's a bit tricky to fully take off and kind of peels off in a little brown-gold strip of liner. I don't mind this, and using jojoba oil takes it fully off (as opposed to drugstore makeup remover wipes). Also the tube that it comes in is absolutely gorgeous! I also bought this liner for $15 as opposed to it's normal $30 because they were having an Easter/end of season sale :) . Garnet Gemmed Lip Gloss: I really like this gloss. It's pigmented and has pieces of opal, moonstone and other crushed stones in it for the gemmed sparkles :D . It's a bit tacky, but I'm into long-lasting tacky, glosses so I don't mind. Chocolate/Champagne Creamstick: LOVE THIS! I wore this under my glasses with the mascara as soon as I got it and my roommate freaked out, "Where did you get that?! It's so shimmery and earthy". Mhmmm and it's made from fruit and natural oils :D . The champagne color is darker than I expected, but I like to blend the two and make a baby smoulder eye. Burdock & Neem Health Scalp Shampoo: I've only used this shampoo once (a few hours ago) and don't suffer from any hair/scalp issues but I also used it on my face/body as a cleanser in the shower after working out today and my skin felt amazing ! I also did a hair oil mask then washed it out with this shampoo-- and there is no oil left! My hair feels clean and healthy. Very into this. I also got the Pink Grapefruit Body Gel as a gift and I like it. I wish the scent was stronger/lasted post-shower but it's nice to use instead of soap. I also got a ton of baby samples of vanilla body cream, mango body cream and this delicious red wine resveratrol eye cream. I've used the red wine eye cream all over my face for the past two days as a moisturizer and my skin feels and looks very glowy. I'm SO happy I've switched over to natural products and I cannot wait to go back to 100% Pure in a month or so. read more

I really love 100% pure products (I had had a good experience from some samples I received at the SFO store), so I was really looking forward to visiting their store. I found the women working in the store to be neither helpful nor particularly friendly. I was prepared to buy a bunch of products, since I drove all the way from San Francisco, but when I asked for recommendations the woman seemed a little confused. I felt like I really had to drag her over to the products to ask for her help in picking out a lip shade or a foundation shade, and she didn't seem particularly knowledgeable about the products or to know much about makeup. I only bought a few things, when I would have loved to buy more if they had been more helpful. I think this store could train their employees better to be more knowledgeable in their products as well as how to match colors to a person's complexion (and to be friendlier). They could take a lesson from almost any makeup counter in a department store. read more

I was over in the East Bay area and since I've been waiting for the local beauty supply store in my neighborhood to get their 100% Pure beauty products shipment in for over a month; I figured I would make a stop here, at the source, instead of waiting any longer. I came here to pick up my favorite product, their Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream, and then as I browsed around the little boutique, I realized this company has SO much more to offer then just eye cream! I wound up being catered to by both of the sales people-- they were extremely helpful and full of knowledge about every single product made and available by this company! Apparently the eye cream I wanted was mentioned on Dr. Oz's show as being one of the best available, and they were shipping it out by the truck load all over the country.. and completely sold out at the store (thankfully they got more in since then..) The products are amazing here and 100% pure organic ingredients with no water or alcohol used at all! I picked up some shampoo, conditioner and amazing smelling body scrubs, along with their eye cream. There were about two dozen different body scrubs to choose from and I spent a good 15 minutes smelling each one. They all smell and taste delicious-- it was so hard to just pick one! Some of my favorites were the Chocolate-Kona, Coconut, White Peach, Eucalyptus, Honey Almond and Cabernet Grape.. and their were several more.. Yumm.. You can't eat them, but they sure do smell delicious! One thing that I liked about this store is their policy on returns--if you buy from their store and you for some reason don't like the product--- they will return it for a full refund! So the address is an estimate based on where WHat the traveler saw and Jeremy's is because the store is somewhere between the 2 of them on that block of College. And it's a TINY store, you could completely miss it... ...But you dont want to. It's filled with 100% natural bath goodies - shower creams, body butters, body scrubs, face products. All of it smells great and fresh - like umm, real fruit. Which makes sense cause that's what's in it. But not too fruity. This isn't like Lush where you'll be assaulted by intense smell (and I love Lush, but sometimes it's too much), instead, you kinda have to coax the mellow scent out...as is the case with the body butters that only release a little smell until you melt it down with your warmth. There's a chocolate mocha body scrub that smells AMAZING. And lots of other goodies. Prices are reasonable - $18 for body butter, $20 for scrub, $15 (I think) for shower gel - so pretty normal for these kind of products. So keep your eyes open and stop by. read more

Love this place! I've never been in the store, I always just get it shipped. I love their pomegranate facial lotion. There's nothing better that I've tried :) I've yet to try their other products. Definitely recommended! One less star because of the price. It's quite pricey for the amount you get. But it's great for your skin! i tried the body wash too, but it's like water. literally. it suds up well for bubble baths if you turn on the jets, but you go through it quickly since the consistency isn't thick at all. I finally ordered the mascara from qvc, not worth it. it's too dry and clumpy and doesn't do a good job. i was going to try the foundation, but i'm hesitant now...stickin to the lotions :) read more

I have officially found an alternative that can quite possibly replace Tarte. Other than the fact that I love 100% Pure's products (they're not the best of the best in terms of coverage and usability but you're trading off for an all natural formula, it's good for the category they're in), this store for the first time in my life had someone who could help me. I always end up with foundation too warm from boutique stores that I visit. Probably because I'm Asian but the veins in my wrist are ice blue. After 5 years of foundation shopping, I now refuse to let anyone help me because of them selling me too warm foundation. I was trying to color match in their store when the person who was working there started with the familiar, "Oh, you're probably a warmer tone--" I turned around and she stopped mid sentence, "--or maybe you're more neutral or cooler." I have no idea if the tone of my skin gave that off or she saw the blue veins on my eyelids but it was the first time anyone in a boutique store had said that to me, which is kind of nice because I'm tired of wearing more bisque-y shades. She helped me match to a shade and gave me information about the eye creams and lightening creams. I happily purchased several items and went along my way! read more

The 5 stars for 100% Pure cosmetics line itself. I'm very excited to find these natural products that are healthy alternatives to some of the scary ingredients that you you find all over makeup and skincare products elsewhere. I've been using their tinted sunscreen, face powder and concealer and it looks very natural. The sales clerk was also very helpful and nice. I only wish that 100% Pure would open another location on 4th Street in Berkeley or elsewhere in the east bay (College Ave store gets crowded on the weekends). I really think the set-up/layout of the store needs improvement. It makes me want to buy these products online. Ever since I wandered into this store, completely by accident, I have what can only be described as a "Pure Problem". On the plus side it's not like some "problems", which could only have negative effects on your skin (for ex., crack, heroine, etc. I wouldn't know personally, but I can imagine those wouldn't be complexion-friendly problems.) My skin feels/looks fantastic, and I smell good most of the time. Also, thanks to the special packages they put together, I am not forced to hold up liquor stores to buy more skin care products! Which is good, because stress is also bad for your skin. Oh, and just so you know, the picture of the camel is not actually me. So that won't happen to your skin if you use these products. read more

I LOVE their products so much! I give them as gifts whenever there's an occassion and everyone raves about them. I got the grapefruit body scrub as a gift from my Mom a couple of years ago, and now these products have me hook, line, and sinker. I use their Vanilla Bean body scrub -- it's amazing! I smell delicious -- like cake! and not a sickly sweet candle -- and my skin is exfoliated and smooth and silky all day. I also use their facial cleanser and soothing balm, and I swear I haven't a pore on my face! It whisks away my make-up too and doesn't dry out my skin at all. I get compliments on my skin all the time, and although I prefer to think of this as my natural glow.. it's not! It is for sure the products -- my skin has never looked better. I use their facial scrub, too, and it feels like I have a new face! So smooth and clean, and, again, not dry at all. I wish they had a shop in Boston but lucky for my wallet they don't! Discovered 100% on QVC. I know, sounds crazy, but there are a lot of good deals and great finds. . . Organic ingredients, eco-friendly packaging, locally made. Love the lotions, they smell like real fruit, not fake, candy-like fruit. Mango and Strawberry Lemonade are my favorites. Also bought the lip & cheek tint. Good for the lips, a little sticky on the cheeks. Fruit pigmented eyeliner in blackberry is a very pretty, deep purple, but it makes my eyelashes stick to my eyelids and needs to be heated to soften the liner.
