As a lip gloss and body lotion junkie, I'm always looking for new companies that can satisfy my face and body product cravings (ahem, addiction, actually). I initially heard about 100% Pure through QVC when I was channel-flipping one night, and I was instantly intrigued... face and body products made with completely natural ingredients? Seriously?? No chemicals, nothing artificial, nothing I couldn't pronounce? C'mon, that's so cool. I ordered a tinted face moisturizer and mascara after reading about the company online. (Oh, hehe, and 2 body creams and 2 lip glosses from the 100% Pure website. Told ya it's an addiction.) I love the products!! I have somewhat sensitive/reactive skin, so I was thrilled that nothing has made my skin crazy. The kid loves her coconut body cream (She's 15 and her skin's just as sensitive as mine.). The strawberry lemonade body cream smells like gummy bears on your skin. Delish! The mascara's nice and glossy, but it definitely takes a couple of coats to really make your lashes pop. Same with the lip glosses. The tinted moisturizer makes my skin feel soft and I definitely use less powder than without it. As much as I love the philosophy of the products *No animal testing!*, as well as the quality of the products themselves, their prices are a bit high. I'll continue to order them (and hopefully visit the store if I visit CA!) because of how fabulous the products really are, but I might have to sacrifice elsewhere. Love the philosophy behind this company and its products, love the price points (a few dollars less than the similarly clean make-up products you'll find at Whole Foods, Pharmaca, etc.), and love the copious samples that are out for testing (and taking!). I've tried and loved their tinted moisturizer,, and liked the lip and cheek stick, which was great except that I wish it had lasted longer. Word to the wise if you're on the make-up hunt: go during the day when there is bright, natural light in the store. Its evening lighting scheme, while cozy and warm, is not at all conducive to comparing different colors and seeing how the products actually look on your skin! read more

This review is for the quality of this product and not the store so much, because I am not as familiar with that. I carry this product in the supplement/bodycare department I manage in the city. The products are truly amazing. You won't find a line out there with cleaner ingredients or better performance. I highly recommend the entire facial care line - try one of the Seafoam Cleansers (available in Lavender or Eucalyptus) or either eye cream - Coffee Bean if you're looking to combat dark circles or puffiness and the Acai to fight wrinkles and aging. Actually, you can't go wrong trying any of their products - the lotions contain shea butter and are so moisturizing. They have a strong aroma, available in a myriad of scents. I'm a little scent sensitive (okay a lot) so many of these are a bit too much for me, but customers LOVE them. The Tangerine shower gel feels like I'm swimming through a tangerine sea when I bust it out in the shower, as the scent is that of real tangerine juice and not a sticky sweet perfume, Salon Selectives type of smell. I highly recommend using the shower gel with your body tool of choice (I favor exfoliating gloves), as it is a very thin consistency, rather like diluted Dr. Bronners, and you might not be satisfied with the results if you try to apply it with your hands only. I finally made it into the store yesterday after selling the products in my store for a couple of months. The gal in there seemed friendly, and the merchandising was pleasant and shoppable. I didn't spend much time playing, though, because I was with two hungry dudes waiting for breakfast down the street. Next time 'll check out their cosmetics a little more carefully - they have a lip and cheek tint and mascara as well as a few other items. Yes, this line might be pricey for some (although the facial care line is actually quite reasonable and competitive in its category), but it is well worth it, especially if you are the type who likes to support local business. read more

Yesterday was my second time shopping here. I came in to buy another Lip & Cheek tint, because I use it frequently (great product to keep in your purse, as it gives a moisturizing pop of color to your lips and cheeks whenever u are feeling pasty), and wanted to stock up. I decided to buy a lip gloss for my niece who was turning 11, because I hate seeing her use brands that contain chemicals (parabens, petroleum, etc), and 100% Pure has a great selection of sparkly lipglosses that smell yummy, which I knew she'd like. I ended up falling in love with their lip liner (which goes on smooth & has a very natural color) & an eyeshadow. When I went to Pay for these 4 items, I was informed I met the criteria for the free gift. I seriously could not believe how generous their swag bag was! A full-sized foundation (probably worth $40-50), a full sized lipstick (gorgeous neutral matt color), a beautiful powder brush (which I need) and another Lip & Cheek tint in a color I hadn't even seen, and which happens to be a great poppin pink that I love. The sales gals were very helpful but not at all pushy. As a cancer survivor it's a priority to me to find products that don't contain harmful chemicals, and 100% is doing a great job adding value to that market with such a wide range of skincare and cosmetics. The only 2 criticisms I have: my niece is dark-skinned and though she's too young for real makeup, it annoyed me that there were no foundations dark enough for her beautiful complexion. Companies need to wake up to the needs of women of all ethnic backgrounds! And some of the packaging is a little on the less-chic side...it's not cheapo exactly but it has a bit of a Bath & Body Works look, which doesn't seem super elegant to me. However, I'm willing to roll with it because the substance is on point. read more

So excited to try my new products! Ever since I started using more natural bath and beauty products, I have noticed such a big difference in my skin all over. It is softer, more moisturized, and I never get these weird bumps on my arm I used to get. My face is also much less dry, yet conversely I break out less. They're a Godsend! Last Saturday, I was strolling down College Ave when I saw this place. I needed some lotion and body-wash so I ducked inside. I ended up going with the Almond and Honey body wash and Vanilla lotion. I was introduced to these products, and the first one I started with was their lotion. Became obsessed, so started using body wash/body scrub, and then went on to their makeup line. I now use ALL my skin products from 100% pure! I love love this line. I am SUPER sensitive to makeup, and anything on my face. I was so happy to find this store in Berkely as I haven't been able to find thier products anywhere other than Rainbow Grocery in the city. This store contains most of thier lines inluding, skincare, cosmetics and body care. The products are made from all fruit pigments and natural presrvatives. No chemicals either petro-chemiclas, parabeens or harsh carcinogens can be found in these. And they smell absolutely declisious. For someone who cares a lot about the enviroments, uses cruelty free and non toxic products, this brand is one of the few I use myself and highly recommend. The person who was working at the time we dropped by wasn;t particularly welcoming or helpful. I did get very generous samples at the end and bought a few items. Some things can cost quite a bit but no more than most Bare Minerals products. Hopefully, they'll open one up in the city soon. Definetely, stop by and at the very least try thier body washes and body butters as apposed to the toxic and chemical filled ones such as Bath and Body Works and the Body shop carry (just read their ingredients and type them into the EWG.org site if ya don't believe me that their harmful.) read more

This is a review for the customer service only. Like Gracie B. said, the store is tiny and I had to walk up and down that block twice before I could find the place. I felt silly for missing it because they had a medium size sign on the sidewalk with testers for your use and I completely missed it. Once the store is found, the shopping experience can be very pleasant. It was very easy to find what I was looking for since all the products were very organized. The sale person did not hover around and bother me, but she was being very helpful when I had a question for her. Oh, and another thing that I like was that the prices were labeled and easy to find. I hate it when I have to run to the sale person and ask for the price of each single item. Another added bonus is that they have testers for everything so feel free to try stuff out. Delicious, nutritious and affordable. I'm not talking about food you ingest, I'm talking about 100% pure natural organic products that you can nourish your body with. While this store is based in Berkeley, the product can be ordered online, via QVC and can even be found a boutiques around town if you're lucky! My friend gave me the Organic Vanilla Bean Body Scrub and I was absolutely hooked. The scrub was gentle, yet effective and the delicious smell stayed on me for most of the day. I was so happy when I came upon it at one of my favorite little gift places in West Hollywood - the Lemon Tree Bungalow - more on that later. Anyway, I use lotions, scrubs and bath products but I turned my friend on to these products and now she is fully stocked with all of the berry-licious make up too! One thing to note, when you use natural oil-based products, you might need to work on draining the tub, but there are easy fixes for that...buy this stuff now, it's of course paraben free!! read more

After months of suffering through loads of creams/metrogel to calm my red, irritated, itchy, sensitive skin (diagnosed as mild acneic rosacea), the acai moisturizer has calmed my skin down. I slap on quite a bit (quite probably more than recommended), and it feels oily and heavy for about 2-3 mins, but then it all sinks in. This, and the Astara antioxidant light moisturizer, are the only two moisturizers that work for supremely sensitive yet dry-ish skin, from what I can tell. No fuss, no extravagant packaging & promises, no archaic usage instructions... just solidly good stuff for a reasonable price tag. Available at Rainbow. read more

This location is set in a really cute place. There are tons of little shops around, restaurants, bike trails, and pretty streets to walk in. The only downside is the parking. It's hard to find some nearby. I've gotten lucky once, and that was a spot three blocks away from the store. Still worth it to visit, though. The products are amazing! I won't review those since I don't think this is the right forum for that. I do recommend to go in & try samples. The staff is great at helping you pick the right stuff & they're not pushy at all. I wish there were more store fronts open, but I'm hopeful that that will be the case as it begins to grow more. For now, I do enjoy visiting this one when I'm in the area. read more

Amazing variety of beauty products, from bath to skin to make up. Everything is organic and the ingredients are SIMPLE. The vast majority of the products are vegan, with only two exceptions that contain honey. This cute cute cute little shop is run by very friendly, knowledgable people. The products from 100% Pure are worth a try. I am lucky enough to live down the street from this adorable little shop and started using their products a year or so ago. I LOVE that their products are so healthy, pure, environmentally friendly, and smell so great. I have also had great success in gifting their products to friends and family. Their prices are very reasonable and they often have promotions (buy 3 get 1 free or sample sets) that are a fun excuse to splurge just a little. On the down side the labels will fade off a bit but this is due to the fact that the ink is soy and biodegradable so I am not too put off by it. Some of the products do not perform as well as I wish they would. The regular lotions smell AMAZING and there are so many scents but it is just not enough moisture for my skin and I always have to add a little oil to it when I put them on. The bath salts are luxurious and a big hit with me. The body washes were something I was very disappointed in as they do not clean well and are too watery. The facial skincare line is expansive and I have not had any complaints with any that I have tried yet. My next venture is to try out the cosmetics. read more

The store is clean and well-organized and the sales guy was warm and knowledgeable about the products. Ah-mazing products. After seeing the display (& markup) at Duane Reade, I decided to order directly from the website. I was really excited to find an all natural honey & coconut milk shampoo and was desperately in search of a good, natural moisturizer w/SPF. My package arrived w/a slew of body cream samples. Exciting! The shampoo smells fabulous! I love it, although it must be used sparingly and I need to follow up w/a vinegar or baking soda rinse to remove all of the residue. The Pomegranate Antioxidant Hydration w/SPF is super. A tiny bit goes a long way and is a great primer for my make up. The fruit pigmented Lip&Cheek Tint is slightly less concentrated than I'd anticipated, but I am happy w/it, nevertheless. I was so excited to come to this store. I go in excited for the brand and the sales associate was just so bored and uninterested. I came ready to shop and all I hear is her typing on the computer. I walked around and asked a couple of questions and I got curt responses of no. I liked the products and bought a mascara that was in a eco friendly packaging. I bought mascara from 100%pure. The product itself was fine... not amazing but good. And probably would have bought again because I like to support companies using high quality ingredients. That said... the mascara brush snapped off in the tub on about the second week of usage. I emailed the company. The asked me to send a picture. So I took I photo of the broken brushed and tube. 100%Pure apologized and said they would send a replacement immediately. That was six months ago... no replacement arrived. So I give them a grad "b" for product and "F" for integrity. Too bad as I really want to like them. read more

I love 100% pure products. My friend and I went to this store and she has been using pure for 8 years and introduced me to the product. I was going to purchase some new facial lotions and eye liner but the lady working was so nasty I decided I would just purchase online. My friend also felt uncomfortable in the store and decided that she didn't want to purchase anything either, though she went in with intentions of spending a lot. I don't think I would ever shop at this store again. The lady was not helpful, not friendly, and not very pleasant. We went across the street to Lululemon and had the exact opposite experience which also made us less guilty about spending $200 there. 100% pure needs to up there game. I had a nasty reaction to their purist face/eye creams that sent me to the doctor and has me on meds for the next few days. I called and they offered me a refund on the products (one bonus star for that) but I am not sure whether they took it seriously since I only spoke to a customer service rep and her manager could not be bothered to speak to me. I just love this store and line of products. I am a total addict! I love the company's mission, the fact that the products are natural AND that everything is local. I even love the glass bottle pacakging... no yucky plastic ickies leaching into the product. Win, win, win! I started using the lavendar seafoam cleanser and red wine moisturizer and my acne completely cleared up. I ran out of moisturizer and started breaking out again. You can be sure I won't ever run out again. I've also just started branching out with their body products and makeup. Love, love, love the sugar scrubs. OMG, they smell so great. The hand lotions are really awesome too. I am just now getting into the make-up and cannot wait to try the shampoo and conditioner. The store (and the website) have fabulous customer services as well. I e-mailed the company about a problem I had with the pump on my moisturizer and they promptly sent me a replacement with an apology. I called the store to see if they had something in stock. They did not, but checked with the Santana Row store, who did have said item. They are bringing it over to the Berkeley store tomorrow for me to pick up. How awesome is that? i loooove 100% pure. it's where i go whenever i need a little gift, or to stock up on make-up and lotion. their super yummy products really are 100% pure, chemical free and often 100% organic. so you can rest assured you aren't slathering on anything that's going to give you cancer. yes, i really am that paranoid. my favorites are the body cremes, which really moisturize. i go through a bottle every winter for my hands. i'm also a big fan of their mascara. made with cocoa instead of tar, it washes off easily and doesn't destroy your lashes in the process. and i guess you could eat it if you wanted to. the store is cute and clean and the girl behind the counter is always sweet and helpful. the only thing i'm not a super big fan of is how they give their samples. in little metal packs that you tear open like your ketchup. cute, but not so biodegradable. read more

I'm so glad these products are clearly labeled GLUTEN FREE. I like the fact that they use all the fruit pigmentation stuff, are vegan, cruelty free, etc. The store is really cute, and the staff is very helpful. I had to exchange something today, and the sales lady was very helpful. BUT: The tinted moisturizer is extremely drying and leaves me splotchy. The website does not clearly call out that the products are paraben free. Some products contain Japanese honeysuckle, which is natural, but is identical in structure to parabens. Parabens are used in tons of cosmetics and personal care products as preservative. The language on the website around how the products are preserved is very corporately vague and lacking in transparency ("unique", "proprietary"). AND: There is too much packaging. The eye creams come in an attractive, but completely superfluous double-layer tube. It's over-designed and over-packaged, and feels like it's done so to justify a higher price. Also: The face powders and powder blushes come in attractive tin packages with mirrors. The capsule with the powder in it easily falls out (it's really just taped inside)...so, what they should do is actually sell the powder capsules separately, and all the customer has to do is pop the powder capsule into the tin container. I really like this brand, but they should work harder to live up to the name "100%"! :) read more

I stumbled upon their products," A chocolate body cream" at rainbow grocery in san francisco. And let me tell you, that lotion smells so yummy that i want to eat myself. On a serious note, their products are awesome because its 100% natural, with a huge variety. They do not use any harsh chemicals. My skin is super sensitive and its very difficult for me to find a facial moisturizer that wont make my face popped out little bumps. I love natural makeup and body products. I have the most sensitive skin and most drug store and even high end brands make me red and breakout. I love my brightening facial scrub and cucumber facial wash. I also love the makeup sampling. I wish I could afford more, although their prices are a lot cheaper than sephora or even online. I went when they had a deal of buy 3, get one free. So that's was cool. I spent a little over $50 so it wasn't terrible. I hope to come back and get some foundation- they were out of my color and try out the makeup more. read more

I AM in L.O.V.E with this place. The lovely and wonderful Loan is such an amazing worker. I absolutely ADORE LOAN! She is such a sweetheart and super helpful. I've never wore make up before and she was extremely helpful. She helped me for 1.5 hrs and didn't rush me unlike the people at Sephora. She made sure I understood the products there. I will definitely come back to try out more of the products. The make up goes on smoothly and I love the make up remover. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves cruelty free and eco-friendly make up. Worth the drive here! I found street parking a block down and it was for two hours. I definitely splurged today but you have to treat yourself. I will buy some brushes next time. Tip: Just like Lush, if you are not satisfied with your product then you could always return it within 30 days. I am pretty sure that I will be happy with my purchases. read more

I ordered the Argan Oil Hydration Moisturizer and before I had the opportunity to try it, the push applicator came apart. I asked Customer Service to send me another applicator, but was told I'd have to email them a photo of the defective applicator. When I told them I was unable to send a photo and additionally, in order to actually see the two, separated parts, I'd have to wipe off (waste) all the moisturizer covering them, etc., which was crazy. I told them it would be easier to send it back and asked them to cover shipping. They told me they didn't cover shipping so I ended up paying $2.50 in shipping. I had also ordered the Super Fruits Eye Balm, which I like and had bought previously. When I tried it and noticed it was scented, unlike the first, and had a harder consistency, I was told that each batch differs. I really wasn't happy with this response. read more

There was nobody else in the store when I walked in, so I was free to browse, and the lady working didn't bother me, but answered my questions when I asked her opinions on things. Besides that, the store is extremely clean and well-organized and smells yummy too. FYI, I got the Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream and the Peppermint Green Tea Toner, both of which I loveee! I've been here a couple times and the sales associates are always very helpful, friendly and informative. They also directed me to expensive products and even told me that I could probably find the face scrubber at another store! This made me feel like they weren't trying to upsell me and are very honest. I came in looking for an all-natural intensive moisturizer product to help with persistent winter-time dry spots on my face (I already have a facial scrub, a daily moisturizer and an eye cream). The sales associate recommended a thick moisturizer (as well as some more expensive products) and a facial scrub brush. After using both products once it fixed the problem!!
