This place is amazing!! Great variety of ramen brands, and frozen options for kimbop. The topping bar has a great variety of classic ramen offerings with just the right amount of paid options. The dining and prep areas are spotless and the staff is amazingly helpful. While I can understand some of the feedback regarding price, this is not just a "fast food" place. You're not at home, you didn't have to cut or prep anything, carry overhead and pay staff. We had a great experience, throughly enjoyed our food and will absolutely be back! read more

I finally got the opportunity to check out Seoulful Bites, hands down an experience. Even though its on a busy street, parking was easy and super convenient. Inside, the space is cozy, clean, and welcoming. As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us and started explaining the order process, the choices can be overwhelming, so having that personalized help was welcoming. It was my first time, so after the instructions picking my ramen, topping and running the machine to make the broth was way easier. I ordered the beef ramen and my mother in law tried the chicken. We choose zero for the heat, wasnt ready to to tackle the spicy ones just yet. I spent a little under $20 per person. Overall great value for lunch. If youre looking for a quick satisfying meal with a relaxed vibe, Seouful Bites is worth trying. read more

We gave this new place a try a little over a month ago. It's a Korean style self service instant noodle bar, and while the concept is interesting, the experience left us feeling pretty underwhelmed. They serve the same instant noodles you can easily find at most supermarkets, but a single pack of noodles here starts at $16.99. For comparison, most of these noodles cost no more than about $2 per pack at the supermarket. The toppings also didn't look particularly appetizing. They appeared to have been sitting out for a while, and the Spam in particular had already turned noticeably grey. On top of that, every topping, including spring onions, kimchi, and pickles.. is charged separately, starting at $1.50. The portions are also very small, served in tiny containers that are barely 1.5 inches across. We ended up paying $48 to cook two bowls of instant noodles ourselves. At that price point, I personally don't think the experience is worth it. There are restaurants in the area where you can get an actual hot meal made with fresh ingredients and served for under $20 per person. I think the concept could work much better in Reno with a more reasonable price point. Something around $8-12 per person, including basic toppings (perhaps excluding protein), would feel much more appropriate and would probably give people more reason to come back. Especially since the restaurant is located near the university, I imagine students would be an important part of the target market. Keeping the price affordable would make the concept much more appealing to that audience. Overall, I like the idea and would love to see something like this succeed in Reno. But at the current price, I just don't feel the value is there. read more

A fun and novel spot with a ton of options! I love the concept, it's unique, and who doesn't like ramen?? My main purpose was actually to check out the snack and ice cream options, it's fun to just poke around. My fiancee ended up getting a spicy ramen packet with several toppings, though we did have to ask for direction since it's not totally clear how to proceed. The young man working was welcoming, helpful, and polite. It did feel a tad pricey for instant ramen, and you don't get many toppings for the base price. read more

This place is so fun! We loved the huge selection of ramen choices and the other fun goodies like chips, corn dogs and ice cream. The owners are so helpful and wonderful. They will happily walk you through the whole process! The vibes are super chill too, it is a really great place to hang out. My kiddo thought it was honestly the best thing ever and asks about it all the time. We each were able to try ramens that we had never tried before and all loved it! Absolutely a fun, unique experience for Reno. You pick an instant ramen packet and toppings and cook the ramen there. Many ramen flavors available you would never find at a typical grocery store but may be able to find similar options at Asian specialty stores in town. The big barrier is the price. $15-20 for instant ramen and some toppings but each protein option is extra. Was visiting my friend in Reno for the weekend and we both stepped into this place on a whim. I'd been seeing videos of Korean convenience stores, and this felt exactly like that! They had an impressive variety of ramen (including gluten-free and high protein options, which I'd never seen before) and SO many different Korean snacks of all kinds! The restaurant itself was really cute and fun as well! The staff was really friendly and showed us how to work the machines, which looked a little daunting but was easier than it looked. All in all, it was such a fun experience, and I'm only disappointed that I don't live closer so that I can't continue trying everything in the store! A self-serve, instant Ramen snack bar? I mean, color me intrigued! This spot seems both casual and trendy in the extreme. The food here consists of basically all manner of packaged instant ramen noodles, many of the brands and flavors you've likely not seen before. You pick out your noodles, get a cooking bowl, and a couple of toppings from the toppings-bar. Then use the special little hot-plate machines to cook your noodles. And bingo, there you have it, a quick and delicious little lunch. In addition, there is a cool selection of other Korean snacks, drinks, ice cream, and so on. The kind of spot where I love to roll the dice and try something new where I can't read the labels. Sounds simple, and on the surface, it is. But visitors, especially first-time users, should definitely take a second to read the cooking instructions on your noodle packets, and the directions on the machines. Or, better yet, do not hesitate to ask the staff for some assistance to help walk you through it as they are immensely helpful, patient, and friendly. Once you've done it, though, doing it again on a return visit will be a breeze. However, if you are truly at a loss while trying to use the machines (or all the machines are in use), there are also a couple of good ol'-fashioned regular microwaves to use, too. Price-wise, while this place is not what I'd call pricy, there is no escaping the fact you are kind of paying premium for essentially just packaged instant noodles. Rather, the value comes from the variety to choose from, the assorted toppings to try, and the overall novelty of the whole restaurant. Speaking of the toppings, you get like two free with purchase, and you can purchase more, so don't just go grabbing a bit of everything without thinking about it, as that can make the total jump up quick. I also like where they're located, right along North Virginia street, across from UNR and proximal to tons of student housing, which means it's great for students who may be looking for a very casual and easy sort of snack-stop. Definitely a part of town that needs things like that. Walking over to it is quite easy, but the parking can be a bit of a pain as there are limited curbside spots. So yeah, all things being equal, I had fun visiting Seoulful Bites. It's a sign Reno continues to grow and get new and interesting entries to the food scene. Almost certainly going to stop by again, when I'm in the area. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I honestly don't see much reason to come here. You're essentially paying around $17 for instant ramen with toppings, which feels difficult to justify when there are local ramen spots offering house-made ramen for roughly the same price. The only way I could see this being worthwhile is if the prices were dramatically lower. As it stands, the value just isn't there. I really want to support local businesses, but I also think we have to be honest about what we're willing to accept as consumers. Too expensive for just Ramen unfortunately :( for just two people it was 40 plus dollars and the free toppings don't include protein , you have to pay extra for bits of spam etc. We didn't get any because just paying 20 bucks for noodles you can get at the asian store for 7.99 for a six pack and make at home with as much toppings as you like seems a little more realistic. The employees here are miserable to deal with. They were so mean to me when I was asking questions and laughing in my face like I was an idiot. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, not to mention it's ridiculously overpriced for the same stuff that's less than $1 at the store. If you want ramen just make your own. Me and my friends were excited to try this new place that seemed very cute and trendy. When we arrived the door was locked and we were met by an employee having to open the door for us and didn't believe us when we told him it was locked, and when he tried it himself he ended up locking us all out again. We go in and they give us a quick rundown of the store, most of the space is for seating and decoration, the actual food sort of it was very small. Ramen selection wasn't anything special in my opinion and the topping section was extremely disappointing. Would have loved to see mozzerella, sausage, cilantro, onion, honestly anything more than the lackluster proteins and 4 veggies they had. $15 for a pack of instant ramen, which is definitely on the pricier end but it's whatever. When we checked out, we were not given bowls to cook our ramen in so I went back to ask for some and the employee was very hesitant to give me them, even though it had literally been less than a minute since I checked out. I got two packs of pink buldak with a few toppings. It came out to be $30. $15 each pack of ramen and their protein toppings are an additional charge. Mind you, the protein is hard boiled eggs, spam, and canned chicken. All of these are items I can buy at the dollar store for way less than $30. I was and still am outraged. Also, the machines that boil your water to heat up your noodles are faulty and burned through the bottom of one of my bowls, I had to get a new packet of ramen and one of the managers of the place just stood over watching me as I tried to reboil my noodles and I was standing there for a total of 5 minutes in absolute awkward silence, I asked him if I should just move to another water station and he mumbled and just stood there. I didn't know what to do and I felt like I had just wasted 10 minutes of my life on top of $30 that I'm never getting back. Don't go here, the prices are ridiculous and they don't even make your ramen for you!! You make it all yourself so might as well just buy a whole bunch of ramen from the grocery store for way less and make it at home. read more
