Arriving at the restaurant at 9pm ok a Friday night, the wait time for a table was about 30 minutes, a little long in my opinion for the time. Once seated, the service was pretty decent. The restaurant is huge and has a dimmed light, "set the mood" atmosphere, but we ordered takeout and there was a wait of about 20 minutes. We ordered our food and about 15 minutes later we get our carne asada roll and had to wait another 10 minutes for our two other items which I wasn't to happy about since there was literally only 5 other customers in there 3 of which were already eating their food so I was a bit irritated but still excited to enjoy my food until I took a bite of my noodles and not only were they cold but they were so sweet it tasted like they added sugar to it still figured no big deal I called our waitress over and as soon as I said I'm sorry these are cold and way to sweet instead of her being nice about it and offering to redo the noodles she rolls her eyes let's put a sigh of irritation and says ok well I can ask the manager if he will remake it but I'm not sure. I was amazed at the way she acted but also at the fact that she was expecting me to eat something that was horrible to the taste so I said you know it's ok can you just remove it from my bill and take it away she said well no I can make you another one so I respectfully declined and she said well I have to ask my manager so I said ok that's fine, she walks away with the plate and comes back and says the manager said you have to pay for it since you ate half already shocked I replied no I literally took two bites and had my husband tasted it so there is no way we ate half the plate I asked to speak to the manager and she walks away again letting out a loud sigh which in itself is rude especially since I'm a paying customer after about 10 minutes of waiting she walks back to us and asks if we would like our check I replied yes still no manager she hands us our check and I noticed they were still charging me for the half noodles so I ask her why and she said because that's what my manager said I replied I'm not paying for anything I didn't eat so again she walks away comes back and gives us a new check crumbles the old one and says there with all kinds of attitude so my husband responded by saying if you go to a restaurant and the food is bad would you pay for it she replied with saying no I wouldn't but my manager won't pay me if I have to return food so I told her that's not our fault and im sorry but that doesn't seem right to treat a customer the way they did because the food tasted horrible. I've been coming to this restaurant for 6 years and never had this issue so unfortunately it will be the last time we return. I ordered at 3:06pm and was told through the phone call, that my order would be ready in 30-45mins. I walked in and waited in line for about 4minutes then finally had my chance to ask for my pick up order. The young lady told me it would be ready shortly so I respectfully paid with my debt card and waited by sitting down in the entrance lobby. Very soon, many customers arrived and it was seriously busy. Hungry and eager to leave, I found myself waiting for my food for approximately 45 EXTRA minutes. My first and last time purchasing from this restaurant because of the huge inconvenient waiting time, food fell short on quality expectations, and the lack of professionalism the front desk cashier provided. I noted her name and still have my receipt but I understand this whole negative experience was not totally her fault, thereby, I hold the higher ups accountable for this review. Lastly, I do hold the cashier accountable for the need in improvement in herself because I did not receive a simple apology after she told me to wait twice for just a few minutes but ended up waiting 45mins in total(in addition to the 45 minutes I had waited at home)! First timer with a super bad experience. I ordered through Yelp. It said to wait about 30 minutes so I arrived 40 minutes after just in case they needed more time. When I arrived my order was not ready. I left for ten minutes to get my wife other food at a near by restaurant and came back. I waited inside for around 5 more minutes and finally received my order but items were missing. I had to wait over 40 minutes for the missing order of noodles. No management was visible during my visit and the worker putting orders together didn't even apologize when she handed me the order after the long wait. This was my first time and it was such a super bad experience that I will not be coming back. When I arrived home, half my food was cold. I also felt unsafe waiting inside. The waiting area was SO PACKED with people waiting for tables. Someone should really make them wait outside but I knew if I had waited outside they would have forgotten about my order all together so I waited inside. I found a spot in the dining room away from everyone and I was wearing a mask. There were other customers waiting beside me as well. One of them said she was there an hour. When I heard her I should have just requested a refund and left. I am concerned about their practices. They are not taking in any regard for social distancing and this is putting customers and their employees at risk of contracting Covid-19. Most of the rolls on the menu appear to be breaded, fried, and drenched in sauces. If you are a fan of the fried rolls and prefer that to more traditional sushi, you will probably love this place. If you prefer traditional sushi, you will probably not care for it very much. Either way, it's worth a stop because this place is a Mexican-Japanese fusión and kind of unique in that aspect. I was hesitant at first but then I read some Yelp reviews and had to try it for myself. What really helped was coming in with an open mind, if you are looking for traditional sushi this is not the place. It is a perfect blend of mexican/japanese fusion and they have some absolutely stunning rolls, delicious too! Service was OK, friendly but a little airheaded at the end when we needed our bill then wanted to pay (took awhile). Other than that gotta say the food is legit, we are going back. They told us to wait 45 minutes to seat only 2 people. We waited an hour and a half. About 40 more minutes waiting on all of our food, that had HAIR in it that I physically had to take out of my mouth. Manager did nothing to compensate besides give me a new meal, and still charged me full price for it afterwards. Our drinks were never refilled, and our waiter checked up on us a total of 3 times for the whole experience. Oh, where to start... Let's start with the food. Ordered the jalapeno appetizer, Mexican Roll, Mohica (Momila??) Roll, and chicken tenders with fries (for the kiddo in our dinner party). The jalapeño app was muy delicioso and not at all what I was expecting! They were jalapeños sliced in half lengthwise, lightly and crispily breaded and stuffed with crab among other things. The jalapenos were super fresh -- they appeared to be uncooked despite being breaded, which gave them a surprisingly good crunch! The Mexican roll was my favorite roll -- it looked like your traditional sushi roll but with a latin interpretation. It came with a dipping sauce that was difficult to figure out exactly what was in it... but I found myself soaking my roll in it! And their special spicy sauce is outstanding. The kitchen... was about as slow as they come. After maybe 30 minutes, the chicken tenders came out. It took another 25 minutes or so before the jalapeño app came out... and maybe 15 more minutes before the Mexican roll arrived. And then maybe another 15 minutes before the Molica (Mimolca??) roll was delivered. I am glad the children's dish came out first, but I would think both dinner dishes would have been served at the same time. And seriously, it was a LONG wait time for food preparation. The service was pretty friendly, but it took at least ten minutes before our server initially stopped by our table. Granted, it was a super busy night... but there were a handful of times when I looked for a server but was left sitting there for five or ten minutes trying to catch her attention to ask for this or that. The ambiance and setting... like other reviews state, this place looks like more of a dance club with the lights on... so maybe trying to dim the lights wouldn't be a bad idea. And the dark tint on the front glass is just tacky. Maybe this is one of those places that turns into a club afterhours... so if that's the case, then maybe they could just pull off the tint by the front door so you it seems more inviting and open from the outside? Not sure why the tint bothers me so much, but it does... Next time I'd probably order carryout. read more
