I am a chef for a multi billion dollar company and was pretty disgusted with the FOH service here. I've heard hundreds of people rave about this place and say how great the food is. Unfortunately, I will never know since I will Never be going back solely on the fact.that their service wasn't at least mediocre. Our waiter literally seemed to be.avoiding us for reasons I.can not explain, maybe because we didn't look hispanic? She was in for a rude awaking when we spoke to her in Spanish as to why it was taking so long to get drinks and appetizers when families who had gotten there after us had had drinks and were working on entrees before our drinks were even served. I've been in the industry for over a decade and know all the ins and outs of how a good restaurant should run, and I honestly believe there is a lack of training. I can't say anything about BOH since we didn't make it that far. I will be.calling tomorrow to speak with the owner since I KNOW we weren't the only ones who.have had this.kind of experience. Unfortunately I'm forced to give this place a star when it doesn't even deserve it. read more

Such a relaxed atmosphere. Very much like waking into a Mexican restaurant with the strolling musicians and tv's projecting Spanish tv. But visually a Japanese restaurant with the colors and lotus lamps through out the venue. The food was delicious and had generous portions. Service was fast and despite being a very busy night with a birthday party...we were seated, waited on and was served fairly quickly. Definitely coming back for the carne asada roll. read more

Love this place! When it comes to sushi I'm not sure you can get more unique than this. Their Mexican infusion makes for a great experience and atmosphere. Staff is friendly and restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Arizona in the area, you won't get this experience anywhere else. We placed our order, gave us our order and that was it my drink was empty half way thru my meal, seen our waitress walk pass us several times and never checked on us. But when it came to the bill. I went to señor sushi today with my family and the customer service that I received was pretty bad. It was my first time at señor sushi and I had heard good things about the food but I didn't even get a chance to try it. We waited about 45 minutes for the food. My mom, who ordered at the same time as me, got her food and I never got mine. I waited patiently for about an hour but at that point I wasn't even hungry. I told the waitress I never received the food and that I wanted to cancel my order. Instead of apologizing she tried to blamed my other family members for eating the food even when they had also placed an order for that item. She made my cousin feel bad for eating the food saying it was mine and that he hadn't ordered even though he did. I know a lot of people like their food but I'll never know because I will not continue to give my money to people who don't care for their customers. I understand mistakes happen but once the mistake is made the professional thing is to fix it instead of blaming others. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! I was here Saturday February 14th my friends and I had to wait 2 hours to be seated, when we were told it would only be an hour. There was a lot of people pissed off waiting to be seated as well. we were seated before some of them, yet they received their food before us. We waited for 1 and a half hours for our food and it never came so we left. The waitress name was Cristal and let me tell you she's has close to unprofessional has it gets. DON'T COME HERE DURING THE WEEKENDS. not to mention somethimes they have their 20% tip included in the bill already. Like they desrve it! read more

The food is scrumptious, you get personal service from the staff and the entertainment is the best!!! The sushi is different, with a Mexican style, but this is what makes this restaurant unique. I have seen some famous Trios singing such as the Trio Los Reyes and Jessie Armenta, known composer, radio personality, and leader of the wonderful group that performs at the restaurant. I come in Phoenix on business 3 to 4 times a year, and when in town, I love to stop in at Senior Sushi. It's a Sushi Restaurant with a Latin Flare, and the Menu is really extraordinary. Went to senior Sushi took friends for the first time food was okay.however the service was very slow and when we went to pay our bill we were told that the credit card machine was broken and we had to pull cash out of the ATM for an additional $3. The waiter also included his own tip and was unable to make change so he rounded up on our bills. When the credit card machine started to work again I told him how it was unfair that some of the people in our party were charged a $3 fee and maybe they should get their money back and he asked me if I had taken money out of the ATM and I said no, he told me not to worry about it then. I explained to him that wasn't the point they were rounding up on our bills and putting their tip in automatically and charging us a $3 fee for their credit card machine not working when I explained to him that it wasn't the point he told me I was harassing. Since I don't live anywhere near this restaurant, it was a Groupon that tempted us to check it out. First, the location is in a shopping center in a run-down part of town. The restaurant itself was formerly a bar and still retains the trappings with a big dance floor and disco ball. The sushi menu honestly didn't look that exceptional to me, but the reason I came was to try out the Latin-inspired rolls. First up, was the Firecracker Jalapeno appetizers, which had a slice of raw chile, tuna, crabmeat and cream cheese that lightly deep-fried and served with a nice dipping sauce. I found this to be less than "firecracker" status, but It was very tasty. Note the tuna tasted like canned tuna fish to me, not ahi, but all the flavors worked together. For the main dish, my sister and I ordered the Guamuchilito with shrimp, avocado, cucumber, crab and cream cheese. This was breaded and deep fried and while it certainly is not light fare, it's hot, crunchy and again, all the flavors blended well. The quantities are quite generous, too. My husband got the Cielo Mar Y Tierra, which is the same with the inclusion of chicken and beef. No complaints from him. My brother-in-law ordered the Mexican Roll because it was supposed to be spicy. He wasn't impressed, plus this roll is not deep fried and is served cold as a traditional roll. Granted, it doesn't say deep fried on the menu, but it's tucked in with the others, and it's an easy mistake when you're not paying attention when ordering. All told, we liked the fusion part of the menu, and I would recommend expanding that. read more
