We always would go with our family here on weekends! Growing up here just brings back so many cool memories. The food is not the best Mexican food I have ever had but it still is good and great on the buck. I have been living in Aurora for five years. As someone who grew up in North Denver, the first thing I did was set out in search of decent mexican food. Senior Rics was the first place I went. Sadly, it was a one-time trip. I live a few blocks from this place, and I always shake my head in disbelief at all the cars in the parking lot. It's like people in Aurora have never had the bar raised for them when it comes to good mexican food, because all the places I have been to are way underwhelming. Chubbies (fast food place) down the street blows them out of the water, if that tells you anything. Hell, Taco Bell might give them a run on a good night. Service? ok Drinks? Yes. Food? Run away In case you're wondering, my search for good mexican in Aurora still continues. TiTi's over on east colfax is very good, but I think many people would shy away from the authenticity of their offerings. I'm starting to wonder if I will ever find it. read more

Nothing special here. Large dining room, seems like a great place for a big group. Typical mexican food. Chevy's is marginally better. Very unoriginal or memorable. Friend had the special, looked like a big appetizer sampler plate and I had the spinach enchilada and relleno. Didn't even finish my meal. Service was friendly and timely.. It was ok. read more

This was my first time here. I have to say I was quite impressed with the food and margaritas. Of course, I only had alewives but they were delicious. Their wings were excellent. For those of you that like spicy wings, I definitely recommend these. There frozen strawberry margaritas were great as well. I will be coming back soon. read more

Steak fajitas are mind-blowing, and the portions are ENORMOUS! Enchiladas seem pretty standard, but I've only ever seen what my friends ordered. Seriously, get the steak fajitas. Their happy hour is great, and they have $11 pitchers of margaritas all day Tuesdays. My classmates and I often go here after a big exam, and even when showing up in a large group, the service has been nothing but polite and attentive. read more

We have been going to your restaurant for years, but, it was my recent visit that has finally made me realize that the food prep, quality, and service will keep me from ever going back. The Caesar "wrap" was soggy & fell apart. (We had asked to substitute a ranch wrap vs. Caesar, but, was charged 1.29 for a bowl of ranch dressinginstead). The 2 soft tacos - ala carte, - were served with brown lettuce and the tacos were soaked in liquid. The mini chimis were lukewarm. goodbye....will never return. caveat emptor. read more

If I could give 1/2 stars, I'd give 2.5 stars. If you get there before 6pm, Senor Ric's is a great place to have margaritas and some guac and chips. Happy hour drinks are 2 for 1, and they literally bring you 2 drinks per order. The food, however, is not that good. I had the fish tacos, which were somewhat smelly and slimy. My husband had the pollo magnifico, which was tasty and totally disgusting all at the same time - a deep fried burrito topped with cream cheese and melted cheese. Eek. Overall, it was insanely cheap - our bill was $97 for 6 people before tip. Service was friendly. I would recommend for drinks and apps, but not for dinner. read more

Haven't been here since 1994. Seems literally nothing has changed and that's not a bad thing. Good food, very well prepared, but a little too hot at first temperature wise. Overall a strong 4 stars and we will be back. Staff was very friendly and attentive. read more

Hands down this is my favorite Denver Mexican restaurant. The is always served hot and the portions are big enough for my wife and I to get a second meal for take home. The margaritas are big and really good. If you got happy hour then it is 2fers - not half price seconds like some happy hours. Great service and great foods at reasonable prices. Senor Rics has been a family tradition, passed down by my step-father, since 1994. They have never disappointed me, not once. They have the most awesome Margaritas and the Mexican pizza is amazing, Going on 15 years now as a faithful Senor Rics customer. i would give them 4.5 stars if possible. They have a great happy hour, 2 for one which is a great deal for their Margaritas which sometimes are a little strong but always good. If you go to the bar for happy hour they also have a chips, salsa and bean dip buffet which is yummy (although they are all a little spicy for me, I still eat my weight in them). The usually will put out one more food item (wings, chimichangas, or something else they are highlighting) but it will disappear fast and they don't refill it. I LOVE their fajitas which I normally don't get in restaurants. Their service is always friendly and the food always comes out fast. We go here just about every friday for happy hour and will miss it when we move. read more

I moved to Texas 23 years ago and still never miss a chance, when back in Colorado, to make my pilgrimage here for my gringo rellenos and green chili fix. People, this is NOT TexMex! Sadly, one cannot get green chili like this in Texas - what some Texans call green chili is made with chicken, can you believe it? And of course, the gringo rellenos (get them smothered green) are not 'authentic' - they are way better ;-) and trust me, I have had authentic. This establishment is another fine example that the poor people in Colorado rarely know good Mexican. I am learning to love this state and the people as well and I don't blame them. I mean, if you've been raised on food like this, how are you supposed to know better? I've been told on a number of occasions that this place is great, that I had to try it, that it was SUPER! Ugh! Disappointment strikes again. So, my first visit.... The chips were stale and come from a bag Tthe salsa is subpar and runny. I ordered enchiladas (It's my go to tester food for Mexican that I've never been to before) and the plate was served so hot that it left a burn mark on the outside of my hand. I asked for some ice and was ignored for 10 minutes and when they finally brought me some it was in a cup with water. Ugh! Ok, Ok, To be fair, they DID tell me the plate was hot - but dang! It still hurt and I never did get any ice. I guess cold water will have to do. Now that that was over I try the food. Beans are alright and the rice, while somewhat dry, is half way decent. I notice that here in CO that it seems to be a trend to add a bunch of chili powder or cumin to enchilada sauce. The taste just doesn't do it for me so in my opinion, the enchiladas are just mediocre. Certainly nothing to write home about. I eat part of it and even though I'm hungry my hand hurts and I'm annoyed that I'm about to spend 20.00 bucks for lunch on this. Ugh. Oh, and can I get a refill? Heck no! I sit for another TWENTY minutes waiting for a refill or a check please and nothing. blah. I can say that at least the atmosphere was nice. It certainly has the feel of a kitschy Mexican joint and if only the food or the service was good. I left feeling unsatisfied and like I wasted money. Normally I'll give a place a second chance, but I see no reason here. There wasn't anything redeeming that would justify a second visit. read more

This place is the first place where the ground beef in the burrito actually has some flavor! The ground beef also has a ittle kick too. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The rest of the menu is pretty typical mexican food out here in Colorado. It was also nice to see ground beef as an option for the burrito, that's how I'm used to having a burrito...I've noticed that a lot of places around here do either shredded beef (ew!) or carne asada. If I could give this place 0 stars after my experience Aug 10,2019 I would. I have been coming to senorics since I was younger and after tonight I will "NEVER" "EVER" visit this establishment again. We ordered fajitas and nachos which came out cold, the fajitas had no steam, no sizzle, nothing just cold, even the nachos were cold, usually the plates come out real hot to the point where you can't even touch them, but tonight everything was "COLD" we told the waitress Daniella that our food was cold and the fajitas came out with no steam no heat "NOTHING" she went to get the manager Jeff and he came to the table and said "what's up" what's the problem " ??? We explained our food was cold he then proceeded to say "our ovens operate at 500 degrees so your food is "NOT" cold"? No apology, no sorry, no what kind I do, can I fix it, nothing, no sincerity or sympathy NOTHING. He then proceeded to say I'll stick it back in the oven? We explained why would you just place this food back in the oven, ?he then said well I'm not offering anything else I already offered to put it in the oven that's it???I said well sir we don't want it if that's all your going to do, he then brought our check to the table said we had to pay for everything and advised our server Daniella not to serve us anything anymore so she never came back to the table except to take the plates off the table. THE WHOLE NIGHT UNTIL WE PAID HE CONTINUOUSLY YELLED AT DANIELLA AND PACED BACK AND FORTH BY OUR TABLE, staring and monitoring us. So on the way out of the restaurant we advised Jeff of how horrible his customer service was and his exact words were "YEP UH HUH, OH WELL" ????? And slammed his phone down. So I ordered 3meals from this place. I don't eat pork. So for each meal I specifically asked for ground beef. When I made it home by my surprise, even though all the meals were supposed to be ground beef there was a pork chimichanga. When I called to let them know that I had a pork chimichanga, Jeff whom says he is the owner says that he was there when the young lady read the order back to me and she never said that I wanted all ground beef. Food was decent, hostesses were very nice, and the wait staff was ok at best. Large and spacious dining room with comfortable seating made for an ideal and enjoyable meal with any size group. My dining party was a group of 6, and we didn't feel cramped or like we were too close to any of the other tables. My biggest issue with this restaurant was the prices. For what is offered and for what you get, this is HIGHLY over priced. Most, (if not all), of the appetizers cost the same as a majority of the entrées. There isn't anything outrageous or extravagant offered for an appetizer either. For example, a bowl of guacamole is nearly $10! I decided to go for the fish tacos, (2 grilled fish tacos served with pico de gallo, Chipotle aioli, black beans and Mexican rice), priced $10.79... I have been here several times and the service is always sub par. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. Got seated by the hostess... waited...waited .. waited. Ten minutes later no greeting, no waiter, no water not even an hello. Many waiters and bus boys present, Probably more staff than customers and yet no service. We first visited Senor Ric's when looking for a new place to eat at near our home while we had family and friends in town. We had no idea what to expect in going and we were a bit surprised when we arrived that it wasn't too busy given its size, and the fact that the parking lot seemed pretty full. However, fear not, Senor Ric's is one of those underappreciated restaurants that, because of its lack of appreciation, is unpretentious while also having great food. Those are few and far between in the Denver metro these days. The food while being great, also comes out in generous portion sizes, which makes it a great value. The service is also spot on. Senor Ric's is definitely worth a visit. read more

Never disappointing! The staff, 10 stars! The food, amazing every time! And the owners are always there greeting guests, cleaning menus, whatever their business needs! My fiancée and I have been going here for years and are always impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the way the owners are so involved in their business. It is obvious the owners provide a great work environment, not only because we have seen them cleaning tables, etc but because they do not seem to have a huge turn over rate even after COVID. And it shows also in the attitudes of their staff who I cannot rave enough about. Then there is the food...fantastic. I love cheese enchiladas but HATE red sauce. Unless I am here. Of the hundreds of Mexican restaurants I have been to throughout the US, which includes Texas, Arizona and New Mexico, I substitute for green everywhere EXCEPT here. Which causes a problem because their pork green chili is to die for. Luckily my fiancee gets their outstanding chili rellenos smothered in it so I get to steal a bite from him. And if you aren't sure, the Ric's platter will satisfy any craving you may have. Add to it their BOGO happy hour daily from 3pm-6pm and no wonder they have been going strong since the 1980's. So amazing, and I have yet to find it's equal. Not just with Mexican restaurants but with ANY restaurant! If you don't like Senor Ric's, you're just weird. Or you're not from Aurora. One or the other.

The food here is indescribably terrible. We went in with a party of seven people and all of our food was awful. The chicken chimichangas tasted like chicken pot pies. The chips and salsa was flat out tostitos and pace picante. The green chile tasted like brown gravy. The guacamole was essentially avacados puréed. This place got high accolades from coworkers and yelp, so this inspired our venture. After making the same people who gave such high acclaim to this place try some of the leftovers I had boxed, they quickly changed their opinion. To their defense, they all seemed to say something in the food must have changed since their previous visit. I didn't know it was possible to mess up Mexican food so bad until I came here. read more

This place is awesome!!! I have an addiction to Mexican food, and it's a wonder I'm not a tortilla filled balloon by now...but we were there on a weeknight, and the place was decently filled, but there was no wait time. I really like the layout, and they had plants everywhere so it was very inviting. Our waiter was really attentive, and the food comes out super quick! The food....oh the food was SO good!! I had a grande burrito, and it was HUGE. Decent prices, and you get leftovers-win/win! They had margarita madness going on on Wednesday-$10 pitchers. Now what's better than that? Not much. Not much. I will be going again, if I can trick my husband into going (he's not addicted to Mexican food like I am). Maybe I can try telling him we're going for "ice cream":) read more

The kids meals are too spicy and when you voice your opinion to the manager or the server, they just write you off like you don't know what you're talking about. The manager had the audacity to tell me he was going to take the meal back but he was going to taste it in the back to see if we were telling the truth. He didn't apologize once while our 4 year old said the food was burning his throat and our 1 year old was holding his tongue out and crying. We won't be back. read more

Above average food. Below average service.. The atmosphere is good.. The service was lacking yes I was seated and given warm Chips and salsa that was great. But after given our food we were never asked how the food was.. If we needed refills and didn't see the waiter again until we were finished eating .. Food wise it was average . The fajitas were good... nothing special.. all of the trimmings (sour cream and guacamole, etc) were all thrown in a tiny bowl on top of watery lettuce Ame I had to dig it all out onto a plate to build my food.. The tacos were not at all good beef was greasy and the chicken was watery... Especially for $3ea. The chicken Quesadilla was mostly a pepper jack/cream cheese filling not much cheese or chicken. But was still a good size and was good overall. A quesadilla 2 tacos, steak and shrimp fajitas and 2 drinks about $35 not bad price wise .not good food wise. read more

Well, despite the fact I loved our waitress, our food came really fast and our chicken came undercook - I order a quesadilla and first bite I felt it and I showed to husband. I didn't complain because it was so busy and it was a Thursday night...I just boxed & from now on I can not eat Mexican food anymore because I am so turned off by the experience! Besides that - guacamole and queso was phenomenal just make sure they cook your chicken... other than that I would give 5 starts. :( read more
