Would have never seen this place, until I was waiting to get my tire fixed. The breakfast burrito is amazing. I asked for steak in mine. It was delicious and cooked fresh. Having had Taqueria Corona bookmarked for longer than I can remember (literally, I don't know when I bookmarked it) I finally ventured in for a quick lunch with a coworker this past week. PROs: ++ The street tacos look amazing! Though I can't vouch for the taste because both myself and fellow diner opted for smothered burritos. ++ Prices are super cheap! Lunch for two came out to about $25 NICE! CONs: -- When we arrived there was no signage telling us to grab a seat and no server to direct us, we stood near the door for easily 3 to 5 minutes before anyone came to help us. I started getting nervous that they were closed. -- I chose carnitas for my burrito and it was incredibly bland. -- I love a green chile smothered burrito! Unfortunately the green chile that was poured over this particular burrito tasted like vinegar. I'm not sure if that was how it was supposed to taste or if the chile was bad... But it was pretty unsettling to say the least. While I was excited to give Taqueria Corona a try - I can't say I'm in a hurry to make my way back. read more

The food here is excellent and the prices are extremely reasonable. The establishment itself is extremely clean and has comfortable seating . The food is exquisitely prepared and served promptly by courteousand attentive staff. The owner is very friendly and often present at the restaurant. My favorite dish, which keeps me coming back for more (about three times a week to be precise), is the ceviche tostadas with a side of avocado and I also love their lengua tacos. If I can give this place zero stars I would. This place is horrendous. The minute you walk in it smells of sewage! Like any restaurant, you basically pick your own seating. But the waiter there was so miserable. When taking our order it was like "mmhm, ok, yeah, sure" kind of feel. The food was the absolute worst. One you have to pay for chips and salsa, that in itself was $3. Most Mexican restaurants have complimentary chips and salsa. Ordered a torta of milanesa, with side of rice. The rice was so bland no salt no flavor. Plain white rice had more flavor then this!! The meat on the torta had a slimy film over it, unsure if it was from the grease or something much worse. Needless to say it was not eaten. Just avoid this place at all cause, I don't know how a place like this hasn't been rated by the health department. Or how they're even still in business. All in all just a waste of money. Go elsewhere, Taco Bell has more flavor then this place. read more

No cheddar cheese here! Taqueria Corona is in the top ten places in the denver-Aurora metro area for authentic tacos and definitely the best in this area. The restaurant is low key but the service is fast, the prices are good, and the food is delicious. This has become our go to place for tacos. Even their delivery (via door dash) is good. The tostada de ceviche is probably the highlight of what we've had but we also enjoy the tacos de carne asada, al pastor, adobada, and carnitas. The horchata and flan hit right too. Oh my, what am I missing about this place?? Almost five stars on Yelp? Maybe negative five stars....maybe. We had friends in from Texas and one of them wanted tacos. I thought "Hey, let's go to a hole in the wall joint with authentic Mexican food, it will be fun" and picked this place based on the reviews. SO NASTY! We were so hungry so we ordered tortilla chips to start with. They don't have salsa, just hot sauce and the chips were either stale or burnt. But we ate it because we were so hungry. We ordered a bunch of stuff.....burritos, enchiladas and street tacos. I ordered thee different kinds of street tacos and I still couldn't tell you what was what. One of the guys found a hair in his burrito and that killed the mood. The walk to the bathroom was sketchy, I swear it reminded me of a scene in American Horror Story and the bathroom was rank. Service sucked and the guy taking our order didn't seem to know what was going on or want to be there. It was all just so weird. Food at this place is exceptional. It tastes homemade. It's different from the typical Mexican eateries that are forced to adapt the food to a more "american" culture. I've visited the place in different instances. First, I came in led by the great Yelp reviews. So I had to see it by myself. Portions of food are good but not oversized like many other places. But flavors are on point. Spices are well combined and the food is made to order. I've tried the tacos, $1.50 a piece. A great deal. Super delicious. Also the carne asada tastes amazing, the menudo and the chiles rellenos. Those flavors really remind me of the great homemade cooks from my childhood. You can really enjoy a great meal, treat yourself to different items and when the check comes in, you should not worry at all, The prices are very affordable. The place is very clean and everyone is very friendly. It's a hiden gem, because is next to a v[out orders. ery busy asian restaurant, Katsu. However, as you're dining, you'll see many customers coming in to pick up their take out orders. I've read some other reviews, and yes, this place is not a luxury one, hoever the place is extremely decent, you're treated with courtesy and the staff is very helpful. I have overlooked this shop for far too long! It is located next to Sushi Katsu in an obscure strip mall off of Havana, but the signage is understated enough that I drive past it about four times a week and hadn't noticed it until this week. It looked exactly like my kind of place-- quaint, unassuming, authentic. We came here to pick up takeout tonight and while we waited for the food, we watched some TV in Spanish and relaxed in a booth. I was pretty pleased when we got the bill... we fed a family of 4 for $20. The tacos are exactly what I like for $1.50... made fast, full of meat, topped with fresh cilantro and onions. Carne, pollo, al pastor... I recommend all three. The torta was tasty, too. My husband got the Al Pastor, and it was delicious. He also claims that the gordita was fabulous, but he ate it so fast, I didn't get a taste. The smothered carne asada burrito for $5.50 might be the best steal of all. read more

Hands down my new favorite spot for $2 street tacos! I have been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant that has no frills but all the flare, and just found it! I stopped in to order take out and the server had on her mask and was super friendly upon entering the door. They had sanitizer pumps on almost every table and it was comforting to know the owner values their patrons enough to ensure anyone who enters feels safe and welcome. I ordered two carne asada tacos and one beef Gordita and my total was only $7. (Pro tip- stop here if you want more bang for your buck!). The steak was cooked to perfection with a savory chipotle flavor wrapped between two corn tortillas then sprinkled with onions and cilantro. They also give you two different homemade salsas and both were amazing! A little spicy but I'm from NM and can handle the heat so ease your way into it. The Gordita was stuffed with beef, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, fresh cojita cheese, and refried beans- then fried to perfection. This spot is amazing and definitely gives you the taste of an authentic Mexican family restaurant (even for carry-out orders). What we received was a less than tasty meal, missing ingredients, and, well, it was not the best smelling establishment. I went in with the most intense craving for street tacos. However, I was also suffering from a moment of stupidity due to the effects of low blood sugar. I ended up with a plate of pork, beans, and rice. It came with a side of tortillas, so I improvised and attempted to make the best street taco I could make with what little ingredients I could muster. It wasn't what I had hoped for. They were out of avocados. I can't believe it, but they were. That was a huge disappointment. I had very little cilantro and cotija cheese. The pork was chewy and fatty. I have no idea why this place isn't busier. Sure, the location isn't great, but the food is on point and authentic for some of the lowest prices around. We've been twice now, and they're also very consistent in quality and taste. This last round, my wife and I got a total of 8 various street tacos, 1 quesadilla with carne asada, 2 sopes and 2 tostadas, plus a can of soda for $26. For a fresh, hot and delicious meal, that's a bargain. There's Sushi Katsu next door that will take up a bit of the parking lot during peak hours, but we've found a spot with no real problems both times we've gone. The place is sparse but clean, never busy and the service is decent. There's a teenager dude who does his best and is very friendly. The rest of the staff has also been kind and made sure we had everything we ordered or needed. No complaints, really. Come show these guys some love and get some killer $1.50 tacos to fill up your belly. It might not be some hipster joint, but then again, you're not paying extra for ambiance. This is up there on my list of go-to places for real deal Mexican food. My only request would be to have at least beer available to wash down their amazing tacos! read more

Moved to Denver in January and have probably eaten here once a week since. There isn't anything on the menu me and my husband don't like! El pastor - pork marinaded in onions and pineapples is one of my favorite things, no matter the item the meat is superb! I love the Gordita while my husband goes crazy over the tostadas and sopes. The service is excellent but the food is awful! I'm trying to figure out why 20+ people on Yelp would lie to me cause no one in our table of 9 enjoyed their food. Everyone ate it cause we were hungry. Bland salsa and flavorless meat is all I can think of. The waitstaff though is super friendly and attentive. That's about it. My son brought me here for lunch. it's a small cozy place, friendly, clean, and the food amazing. Now keep in mind this is authentic Mexican food not TexMex. This is a family business a very clean place. You can relax and enjoy your meal. A very reasonable meal and plenty. Trust me when I say I know my Mexican food and this is a 20 out of 10.
