Mark Ivory was our rep and he did an excellent job getting us processed before the NEM 2.0 expired and was able to have our system installed two weeks before they anticipated. That never happens! I know from a friend's brother-in-law who is in the solar industry that we got the right quote with the right equipment at an excellent price for our 3 bedroom 3 bath home. Even my HVAC guy/plumber said we got a very good price and system. I also like that the company does roofing as we have a relatively new roof and certainly didn't want that damaged. We passed inspection first try and were fully operational soon after. I do think semper solaris could improve on their post-install customer service follow-up ( I had a few questions), but that is minor compared to the other parts of our project. I like that the company is veteran owned. My friends that referred us are also quite happy with the company. read more

If you ever need help with your system (because at some point you will need help), you won't be able to get in contact with anyone that knows anything. You have to call a general line which takes you to someone to intake the request. Then they say that it will be 7-10 business days before anyone calls you back. After 10 days and no one calls you back, you call back and ask for an update. The person takes your request again and says it'll be another 7-10 business days. It has literally been 5 months since my issue and it still hasn't been resolved. I typically support businesses like this, but the service and quality of support should prevent anyone from proceeding with this company. There are many more solar alternatives that might be better for you. I just wanted to share my experience to protect from this pain. read more

Get you to sign the papers.. biggest mistake of your life.. they don't actually have a caring bone in their body. I have Semper Solaris solar panels on my home ( were installed before I purchased my home 3 years ago). I contacted Semper Solaris about the Tesla powerwall. My sales person was Mark Ivory, who I highly recommend you contact if you are interested in installing a battery powerwall or solar. He was incredible at the beginning of my project!! And helped me resolve another issue with my panels not communicating to SolarEdge. Technicians on that project were many but Marwan was one. The process was not quick, given you have to wait for plans and approvals, but my powerwall is in, functioning, and as of this morning, approved by SDG&E and now has been approved to operate! Might I also commend those installers at Semper who helped get my powerwall fully installed and those who worked with the Santee permit department inspector to get me approved, including Robert Ortega and Alphonso, who met with the inspector. I want to apologize as this review is well overdue. I had asked a co-worker if he could provide a recommendation on getting Solar. I told him that I didn't want to have an experience in the past with a solar company that I met at fair. You know the used car salesman pitches, that well in the end when I said no, they would come back with a lower price. I wanted someone to honestly tell me the pros and cons the ins and outs of what I was getting myself into. He put me in touch with Rhami of at Semper Solaris Solar who provided us with a great deal of information. I remember him saying if I wanted to , contact a couple of more companies to compare. Well we went with Semper Solaris, and Rhami was our point of contact throughout the whole process. He said if we had any questions at all we could reach out and ask, and we did a couple of time. Rhami didn't make us feel like another number, he made it very personable which my wife and I liked. The process went very smooth from the initial sit down, contract signing, all the way through the install. There were other steps along the way like verifying the layout of the panels. During this time, I had asked if they could run the conduit internally through the garage, as I have seen some installation with conduit running down the side of the house and up and over roof. I know most are done like that. So they planned for the conduit to run internally with minimal conduit showing. I am very happy that I had asked. When our install date came around four installers came by, they showed up early to appraise the job ahead of them. I spoke with them about various things about the Solar install. The crew Andres, Javi, Danny, and Luis were very respectful, telling me what the needed to do. Provided us with a plan when they would need to be inside basically all aspects of the install. When I discussed with Andres about the internal conduit run he wasn't sure that they could make it work with our house. I showed him a neighbors, house that had done it similar and he worked on a plan of attack. The Install team of Semper Solaris did an outstanding job installing and minimizing the what we could see from the outside. Even the run inside the garage was minimal, they removed some pegboard and went in and straight up inside the garage attic. Overall from day one meeting Rhami to the crew Andres, Javi, Danny, and Luis installing our system couldn't have been smoother. Updating my review. For that last few months I have been working with customer service to resolve some pending issues. There were two mainly. 1. I have a solar attic fan that has been in place prior to engaging Semper. It was never reconnected in a working fashion and actually was shorting until I climbed in my attic to connect the wires properly. Semper sent out a few people with the first two having no idea about electricity and could do nothing more than smile. By the time a third electrical person has showed up, I had already re-wired the fan. I did provide this person with a new wire connector to install and he did. Months of back and forth phone calls, texts, promises and finally resolved (mostly by me). 2. A new electrical Panel was installed which had a new pipe going through the roof to connect to city power. On this pipe is a fiber optic cable (either connected by the electricians or roofing team). The fiber optic cable is from AT&T for internet and was secured to the new pipe with a single plastic zip tie (which I increased to three until resolved). I called and texted with someone again for months and Semper claims this is not their responsibility and would have never put that wire on the pole. I wonder what AT&T or city utility would say if this wire ends up in the streed? Semper has washed their hands with the matter. I am attaching a picture for reference. Would I use Semper or recommend them, quite the opposite this point. I really hoped I had found a reputable contractor to work with on home projects, unfortunately not the case. read more

I called and they said the home had to be on a fixed foundation and they had to get permission from management. It is with great regret that I post this negative review of Semper Solaris. After considering several proposals from other companies, I selected Semper not because they were the cheapest, but because I believed they would be the most professional and qualified to complete my job. Unfortunately, Semper Solaris has not lived up to their marketing. My project began in July 2022, and installation did not occur until May 2023. Although I currently have a "working" system, my project remains incomplete, un-permitted and my property is still in disrepair due to expected damage incurred during installation. I paid extra and signed a Change Order for over $4k to upgrade my Main Breaker Panel to 200 amp. This was never done. The wrong type of permit was submitted for the whole installation project. The correct permit has yet to be produced. Semper Solaris says they are working on getting the appropriate permit, but I've received no updates or status. Damage to my stucco and siding as part of a new mast installation has yet to be repaired. Several storms have occurred incurring water damage to my property as a result of missing stucco. Safety stickers are on the wrong breaker panel. This could be hazardous and may confuse emergency services and the utility company. Loan amount far exceeded the outstanding balance by almost 10k. I asked Semper about the large discrepancy but they have ignored my emails and inquiries about this. The amount in excess of the outstanding balance has been released to Semper Solaris. I have not been unable to benefit from the excess power my system produces because new digital meters have not been installed. The connectors between my wiring, and the wiring coming in from the utility seem temporary. All of this is most likely due to the utility not seeing that my project has been completed due to lack of a valid permit. On top of all this, Semper Solaris placed a mechanics lien on my property, although I had an open dispute with the finance company regarding all these problems. Semper Solaris placed a lien on my property to force payment, when all the while payment was approved and pending resolution of some of these disputes. Placing the lien was predatory, premature, and done in bad faith by Semper Solaris while I attempted to work through all of these issues with Semper Solaris. I have not heard anything from Semper Solaris regarding the lien since funds were released to Semper Solaris by the finance company. This shows Semper Solaris is only concerned with payment, and has no concern for these outstanding issues. I have emailed and called various people claiming to be a managers or my "primary point of contact" but many of those communications fall on deaf ears. I will say that the generic customer service email and phone number are responsive but unfortunately powerless to actually take action on anything, except pass on messages. Just recently, Semper Solaris is asking me to DocuSign another new Final Design Layout. I've asked why this is needed, and what I'm losing or benefiting by signing it. -No response by my "Primary Contact". My disputes are a very small financial portion of my project, but important to me as a customer. I have lived in my home for many years, and plan to be here many more, so therefore I want to get any major upgrade right the first time. To sum this up, this has been a nightmare and makes me wish I never entertained installing solar at all. It took dealing with Semper Solaris for me to realize this was a very bad decision. I originally had our roof and solar done back in 2018. Price wasn't the cheapest (roofing was a pricier) but the ability to hold one company accountable for everything regarding my roof was important to me. So far, the solar has worked great. The roof on the other hand has had a few issues and getting help since has proven challenging... I have had to have them back several times for tiles falling off and getting it done has been painful. I have gotten calls about needing to have a call, planned visits that never happen or are really late. I finally got someone to come out and look and he validated I need 3 new tiles. He did not have the particular tile with him but said he would be back. Really wish I had gotten his name... That was 3 months ago. I could only recommend getting the Solar, but pass on the roofing. Just be a bit leery of your ability to have them come back afterwards! read more

Went with them due to an exemplary project they did for my parents years ago. My experience couldn't have been more opposite. After 13 months (8 months after their projected project completion date) I finally just cancelled the project. Unethical, immoral and illegal business practices. They've had $21,000 of a $27,000 job for 10 months and not a single bit of progress. All we needed was a Powerwall. It's been 7.5 mo since install and we still don't have a working Powerwall. Permission to operate was granted a few weeks back, but Powerwall stays in standby and isn't charging. It's been 10 days since I notified Semper of this and I've not had a response from them despite multiple emails and calls. Sales process was decent. Install was fine. Post install communications have been atrocious. It seems something wasn't working properly on our system but no one could ever explain it to us. Follow up techs showed up on days we weren't expecting them. Appointments for service canceled at the last minute. They sent a guy who spent 8 hours dorking with the system and talking loudly on personal calls all day. At this point, still don't have a working Powerwall despite full payment per their contract agreement. I would not recommend working with this company. I'm posting this review against the corporate office as we've worked with people in multiple locations including Concord and Manteca. read more

I was referred to Rhami at Semper Solaris by a friend. Rhami was quick to reach out to me and provide a free quote. He took the time to answer all of my questions about solar and the whole process. He informed me that they wouldn't be the cheapest company or the most expensive either, but that they stand by their work and will back it for years to come. After obtaining several quotes (which he encouraged me to do), Rhami went to bat for me with his higher-ups and was able to match the lowest price I could find! Excellent customer service!!! After selecting Semper Solaris as my solar installer, numerous people from the company made contact with me to ensure that the financial, HOA, and scheduling processes all went smoothly. I was given a 4-month timeline. Being in the middle of a refinance during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rhami was also able to work with the company's financial department to establish a schedule that didn't clash with the close of my refinance. Again, excellent customer service!! By the time I received approval from my HOA to install, Semper Solaris had already obtained all of the plans and permits required for them to begin install (about a month had gone by at this point). I dropped the ball on signing something from the financial department, so that delayed us another few days, but once that was remedied, I was put on the install schedule for later that week. Mike contacted me the day before install to let me know how the installation would go. Mike and his team arrived just before 7am the next day, and they were done by 11am! I was told it could take a month for the inspection to take place and I could get my PTO (permission to operate); however, they got an inspector out from my city the next business day! I had PTO within 3 business days of installation!! They finished everything TWO MONTHS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!!! So happy with the whole process! These guys do NOT paint the conduit. Despite what their salesman promises the conduit they install is NOT going to get painted. Don't let them fool you, it has been a hard process in getting Semper to honor their word. It has been a headache, photos to show their unprofessionalism regarding the paintwork, which took a lot of communication straightening out from the office to the workers in the field to make it right. Sad to say, being a repeat customer here, giving them a good chunk of pay for additional panels and power wall. Their subcontractor crew is rotten to the core other than the Tesla battery installers did a great job and the painter who made it right fixing the mess was a good person and represented Semper well. The CEO who worked hard to build up this company would be greatly disappointed. As a military veteran, I served with Marines, and someone who originally thought going with Semper would be a slam dunk decision. I believe there still are some good people in the organization, but it sure has been difficult to hold them accountable for making it right for this recent job. This could have been an easy 5-star review from the beginning and I certainly had the biased to really talk Semper up, but man what a big disappointment here! They immediately started blowing up my phone with five spam text messages and two phone calls (714-364-8358 and 619-715-4054) within one hour. When I called to cancel my appointment I spoke with a guy named "Will" who repeated everything I said to him and then hung up on me. I have never reviewed a company on Yelp. I hate that I have to do this. My solar monitoring stopped working and this past August I reached out to get it fixed. They emailed me back with instructions to get it working. Load the app, reset and check passwords. Nothing helped. Then they told me to use the apps instructions including hooking up directly t the network port on the side of the house. I am not technician but I am handy. It didn't work. I have tried for 3 months to get a tech out here. I get generic emails from "salesforce" and when someone does call me back I get a number that doesn't ring and goes to a voicemail box that has nothing to do with the number. They have horrible customer service. I believe panels are NOT working and have asked them to come out. I would not recommend them to anyone. They simply do not care. I am confident nobody knows what their Generic emails look like from salesforce or calling the phone numbers. They want me to be the tech to save money on not sending labor out. Simply pathetic . I have have two electric vehicles and two electric bikes. Char explained the pros and cons of what I was getting into. I initially wanted two Tesla batteries and 40 solar panels, but she worked out all the numbers so it made sense with my goals. I ended up with the perfect set up with 1 Tesla battery and 24 solar panels situated in certain parts of my roof. I had no idea how important the angles and positioning of the panels played in maximizing the output. I was also picky on how the panels looked on my roof as well. Rhami Hasenin Who is thorough in describing the entire process, the need to apply to SDG&E for a net neutrality contract, and the time interval to complete. In addition he was willing to provide financing or direct us to such financing. However, In the end I ended up working with my own personal bank. The installation of the roof, which was concrete tile, went amazingly fast .", 3 1/2 days from start to finish. That was made possible because It was staffed with a large crew. The solar system went remarkably fast also after we finally got the approvals of the city of Coronado and the HOA . My roof has survived on slot of rain that we have experienced over the last two or three weeks without any leaks! My solar system is up and running and creating electricity and I am selling it back into the grid per my agreement with SDG&E.
