    Branzino Grilled Fish
    James G.

Came here after seeing the high stars. Place has an upscale feeling and prices are slightly above average. It is a smaller venue inside and they reconfigured tables as necessary based on number of parties. They do take reservations but we didn't need one and were seated quickly at 6:30ish on a Friday. The service was great and it seemed as if all the staff were just helping everyone. Our waters never got below half. There are only 4 beers on the menu but a pretty good wine selection. We ordered the grilled Branzino fish which was perfectly grilled. If you are squeamish I don't recommend it, stick to any other meat. The fish came out whole, head, eyes, fins and all! I had to keep picking small bones out of my mouth. Good taste and cooked right just not your typical American style grilled filets. I would definitely recommend this place for food.

Brunch set up in front of the bar

I've reviewed this place before, highly recommended for dinner, but for some reason that review is not showing up for an update. This review is for brunch only. Selda is one of our great options for Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, so we were excited to try the Turkish brunch that's available on weekends. The photos we had seen were mouthwatering! We arrived with a reservation and seated quickly. The area in front of the bar is converted to long tables with their brunch offerings. There were 2 meat dishes (minced beef kabob, chopped up, and a minced spicy chicken also chopped into chunks), one falafel, scrambled eggs, rice, vegetables, and a soup for hot options, and then there were a lot of different breads, yoghurt, fruit toppings and jam, fresh fruits, cheeses, olives, dips and spreads, salads, one type of cake for dessert (chocolate), urns of orange juice and lemonade. Hot tea is included. The current price is just under $30 pp. The hot dishes would have been so much better if they were served hot. Nothing was warm enough, it was all room temperature even though they were served out of heated chafing pans. The other items (breads, etc) were very tasty served at room temperature. Treat yourself to a bowl of yoghurt with some sour cherry topping! Delicious! Service was nothing special since the food part is self-service, and we did get a tea refill. We would have liked coffee, but no one checked on us so we could make the request. One bothersome thing we've seen, even during dinner visits, is that employees are eating while actively working. On this visit, one young man stood behind the bar area, watching over the diners, and eating with his bare hands. Meat, lettuce salad, fruit, all without a single utensil. He also answered the phone and bussed tables without washing hands in between. I'm not well versed in health code standards, but I was surprised to see this with a manager on the floor. We would like to try it again to see if the brunch offerings change from weekend to weekend, and to see if the food is normally served hot. It's nice to have something different in the community.

    Grilled Salmon

Listen -- I don't just hand out 5 stars to any restaurant that serves a decent meal. This place? A true hidden gem. WOW. From the moment I walked in, I thought, "Uh oh... am I underdressed?" But then I noticed the staff -- casually dressed, warm, and welcoming, like they've invited you into their Turkish home. The vibe is effortlessly cozy and genuine. Now the service -- unmatched. I was greeted like family: handshakes, smiles, chairs pulled out, and that instant feeling that you're among friends. That level of hospitality is rare these days. We started with the watermelon, beet, and feta salad, and let me just say -- I could eat that salad every single day and never get tired of it. The mix of sweet watermelon, earthy beets, and salty feta was absolute perfection. Then came the grilled salmon -- easily one of the top 5 salmon dishes I've ever had (outside of fresh sushi or sashimi). Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, nestled in a rich tomato sauce over chickpeas so flavorful they deserve their own spotlight. The lamb chops were divine -- cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and melt-in-your-mouth good. I wrapped pieces with grilled tomatoes and a fiery jalapeño inside their warm pita (which they keep refilling nonstop) -- pure heaven. Even the rice, simple at first glance, was full of depth and flavor. To end the meal, they brought out complimentary Turkish tea with sugar cubes and free refills -- the perfect final touch to an unforgettable dining experience. Restaurants like this are few and far between in San Antonio. As long as they're open, I'll be coming back again and again

Absolutely loved this place! The food was outstanding, and the drinks were just as amazing. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and truly makes you feel right at home. The customer service was excellent from start to finish, and the overall vibe was incredible. If you enjoy Turkish food, this spot is definitely a must-try. Highly recommend checking it out -- you won't be disappointed!

This is our favorite Turkish/ Mediterranean spot in San Antonio. Located right off the highway, this is the perfect spot for date night or to bring your whole family. They have an extensive menu. We love the baba, hummus, any of the grilled dishes. We stopped by on a Sunday and got a table. We tried the Beyti Kebab (grilled minced beef wrapped in a light wrap with yoghurt and red sauce which was devoured in seconds. We also shared the Ali Nazik, chunks of savory lamb over a Smokey eggplant. Be sure to add extra orders of pita and you won't be disappointed. The service and atmosphere is great.

I went here for my bday with my family and had a lovely experience. The servers was very accommodating and friendly and another gentleman helped keep our table clean and waters filled. The manager omer brought us teas and a delicious fudgy cake and sang happy birthday to me. They ensured we had a window seat. The food did take a while but not rushing made it feel like I was family. I would reccommend this to anyone looking for a homey and flavorful experience. The mixed grill and lamb chops blew me away!

Food was very good. This was my first time trying Mediterranean food. We got some bread and cheese to start off. I wasn't a big fan of the parsley on the cheese but I just ate around it. We got the lunch special which was $20 for app and big plate. Our appetizers were : ezme, taziki, eggplant. The ezme and taziki were very good and I would recommend. I didn't like the eggplant dip tho. we got chicken shish and it came with beans, rice and lots of chicken. The chicken was actually so perfect. Grilled and still soft on the inside. I would eat that chicken every day if I could! Also best service, we were in an our in probably an hour! You can't beat their service. Staff was friendly and the whole place was so clean! Will definitely be going back

They took amazing care of us here. The service was top notch. The staff was intimately familiar with the menu and made great recommendations. They brought the food out with perfect pacing. And everything tasted AMAZING! These guys know what they're doing! We ate outside because it was a very nice day, but the interior was well decorated and pleasant. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Stopped by late at night and had a delicious meal! The service was, once again, fantastic -- friendly and attentive even close to closing time. The food was excellent; I ordered the chicken shish and took some baklava to go. They also offered plenty of Turkish tea, which was a perfect touch. This place never disappoints!

Stopped in for lunch and WOW! I had a great meal and will definitely be coming back with my family. Rather than the usual olive oil & naan starter the server arrived with what he described as a blend of cheeses (feta and others) I think there was a bit of a language barrier ‍ but it was very good and its texture was like a burrata cheese. I ordered from the lunch special menu. My choices were the lentil soup to start AMAZING!! With my main course being the arugula salad with grilled chicken. Very tasty. After my meal the server brought me an wonderful Turkish tea. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Amazing, authentic, Greek food. We had Taziki and fresh naan, ouzo, Negronis, goat cheese stuffed dates, and beef and chicken shish. Everything was amazing. The bartender was friendly and accommodating, and I would definitely go back.

Excellent halal food! We really enjoyed our experience here, the atmosphere feels upscale but it's also laid back and comfortable (easy to bring the baby with us!). Looking forward to going back and trying more plates.

We had a reservation and arrived a little early. They were happy to seat us anyway . The restaurant has plenty of tables and is comfortably decorated. We were immediately greeted with some water and menus. We also got complimentary pita bread with labne, and Turkish tea. Both were really tasty. We had a Shepard's salad and arugula salad to start. I didn't get pictures because as soon as we tasted them they were gone. They were so bright and fresh, we devoured them both. Next we had the lamb chops, salmon, and a order of tatziki. Both dishes were delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. We ate them down to the bones. My friend ate all her salmon which is a great sign. The tatziki was very yummy and I recommend ordering it to go with the pita and your meal. Its great on lamb chops too. We were so full that we didn't get dessert. We were very happy with the visit and will be back again.

We left quite stuffed and extremely satisfied. It was a nice day so we ate outside but the interior was very pleasant and was filled with diners even at 2 pm. Everything here is fresh, perfectly seasoned, healthy and oh-so-tastey. This place was recommended to me by a fellow foodie and Yelper, and we're very grateful for the recommendation. This was the perfect birthday lunch for me.

Upon entry, my guest and I were greeted promptly and invited to sit anywhere we liked. My guest and I immediately noticed the traditional Turkish aromatics that filled the establishment. The waitress who tended to our table was engaging and explained the menu in depth as well as vouched for the food's authenticity. As my guest and I wanted to try multiple menu items, we elected to order the dishes that offered an array of food. Appetizer: Cold Platter This dish included hummus, babaganoush, dolma, ezme, and piyaz. The plater was properly "stacked" with the flavors of the app. going from "punchy" to mild. The piyaz was a perfectly balanced white bean salad packed with Mediterranean flavors. This combination of white beans, tomatoes, onions, and parsley was simple and yet deliciously satisfying! The dolma on this dish was a perfect combination of filling vegetables, grape seeds, Rumex, hornbeam, and quince leaves, with a kick of lemon. The babaganoush was light and refreshing. The simple combination of roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt is something that is not to be missed if you are looking for a vitamin packed dip. The Ezme "mashed" was made mainly with tomatoes, cucumber, and olive oil and packed a little punch, which most likely was accredited to the peppers. Main: Hot Mixed Platter This dish included meatballs, chicken, beef, and lamb (doner) atop veggies and rice. All the meats on the plate were seasoned to perfection and tender. My guest and I ate the meats so quickly that I am not able to appropriately describe the flavors other than with the a word, "delectable". Dessert: Dessert Platter This platter had a sampling of Tiramisu, čupavci, KÜnefe, and Baklava. Although the čupavci and KÜnefe looked great, I couldn't eat them as they both are made with coconuts (to which I am allergic). I actually took a bite of the KÜnefe before I realized that it had coconut shavings in it. With this dessert, the cheese is arranged between two layers of Kadayıf (shredded phyllo), cooked until golden, and soaked in a sweet syrup. The čupavci (sponge cake) was soaked in chocolate sauce, then dipped in unsweetened, shredded coconut. Fun fact: Čupavci means "furry" because of the fuzzy surface the coconut provides, which I learned when I visited Turkey many years ago. Java Folks who read my reviews know that I am a java junkie. So, of course, I requested the Turkish coffee. Turkish coffee is prepared with more water than its Italian counterparts and is meant to be sipped rather than drunk quickly like a shot. There is also a tradition of reading the grinds at the bottom of the cup to tell fortunes, known as tasseography. Turkish coffee cups are small, similar to the size of an espresso cup, but with a rich history of their own. This coffee is prepared traditionally and provided a much needed pick me up. This family restaurant has authentic quality food and the highest level of service. If in the area, this locally owned spot is worth a try. Total for the meal before tip $89.00 #supportlocal
