    Flat bread

We had a really good meal after the gymnastics class. The lady serving us looked flat off her feet though and she was the only one covering the floor She was awesome though she needed help We had the bread... hummus with meat. One meat plate to share and kibbeh. I would be back just for bread and the hummus with meat. So good

When I enter a restaurant and the customers are dressed in their traditional garb from their native homeland, I'm expecting the food to be authentic, or at least I like my chances. The Lamb and Meat Kabob were exactly that and more. As you walk in, the first thing that catches your eye is an open flame grill with some delicious looking Kabobs grilling. Yum! Pair that dish with either the Greek salad or the biryani rice and you will thank me later. If you are into sharing plates, add the 1/2 rotisserie chicken plate, share both dishes and you will not leave hungry. If you are ready to go into full food comatose, then order the Lotus cheesecake for dessert. Something about a Biscoff biscuit treat, I just find irresistible. The taste is light, but be prepared for a night time nap, or at least have an Uber lined up to get you home. The restaurant has several large tables, as many families along the Mediterranean live and eat together, so it makes sense to accommodate those bigger parties. They believe that every meal is a story of friendship, family and flavors are a way food is celebrated, or at least what we witnessed in our travels throughout these regions. The servers were friendly, helpful and it made for a pleasant evening.

Kababchi was highly recommended by a friend and I was really looking forward to trying it. I've eaten food from shisha cafe kitchen before so I assumed it would be the same kitchen or similar. I was disappointed there was no chicken shawarma plate , just a sandwich. So instead I ordered the mixed chicken & beef kabab plate. Unfortunately, the chicken had a very strange texture. I would describe it like a dried out mcd's chicken nugget. The beef was decent. I noticed about halfway throughout our meal that the cooks were cooking the kababs from completely frozen chicken & beef. You can see straight to the kitchen through a large window. I've never known a restaurant (except I guess fast food) to have frozen meats. I assumed Mediterranean food would be fresh. That was a huge disappointment. Our cheesecake was partially frozen so we didn't get to finish that. The hummus was amazing. Lots of oil but still very good. The pita bread was okay. Kind of hard like a cracker in some spots (even our second bread) but the soft parts were delicious. My friend had a beef gyro plate w/fries and said it was delicious and that the beef tasted fresh (not sure if it was previously frozen or not, just kababs). I'm not sure if things have recently changed or if it was just an off day for them. Business was slow so I assumed it'd be great considering it was highly recommended. There's definitely room for improvement because I know it's owned by shisha and their food has always been delicious.

3 of us for an early dinner. Food was on point. We had a pot of Turkish coffee, chicken shawarma, beef Kabobs. Only had to ask for a refill on a water. Nazira is a perfect server. Our food was hot, flavorful, she checked on us even with a full restaurant. Nazira is the reason we come back here as often as we do. First thing my wife said when we walked in was our favorite waitress was here. Well back soon. If this place isn't on your list it should be.

We got the chicken shawarma wrap which I thought was really good. It was a good portion and was pretty tender. I thought it could use a little more salt though. It came with fries and they were so crispy! The baklava for dessert was great and it was crispy but a little bit oily. The workers were nice and we were able to sit down immediately. There was a ton of space inside and they open late which is nice.

This place is hit or miss. I am Lebanese and honestly this is the only place I feel it is closer to my home cooking. It is never consistent though. One time the food is licking delicious and the next not even edible! This review is based on my last visit which I am leaning towards never going back! My friends got there before me and I asked them to order me the grilled whole chicken. I get there to find it at the table looking so dry! I was so hungry I forgot to even take a picture. I wondered throughout the meal how long that chicken has been there reheated and served. I still ate it without complaining. It wasn't a cheap meal though! Moving forward I think I will not initiate a visit to this restaurant unless I go join a group of friends. It is bittersweet since sometimes I crave my own food without having to cook it at home. Kababchi please make sure you quality check before sending things to the tables!

Just got I to San Antonio to meet my husband and daughter. It's 8pm and I'm exhausted from flyingall day. Looked up restaurant near me with vegetarian and Mediterranean (I'm Syrian and Lebanese). Wow! Amazing place! Both my husband and daughter said amazing find. Maha is awesome, friendly and efficient... Friendly being the most important! The food is SO good! We shared a baba ganoush and we ha falafel sandwich and chicken shawarma sandwich. Yummy! Oh and freshly squeezed watermelon juice... My favorite! Thank you!

Food and customer service was excellent!!!!! This is our favorite restaurant to bring the family, specially when we have a big party!

Tried this spot out after being recommended by our friends and was not disappointed! We came by on a Sunday so naturally it was packed with families, but we didn't mind lol -- tried to Turkish coffee and it was delicious. We didn't actually get what we ordered but waited a bit for the food anyways so just decided to eat what we got and it was of course very flavorful! We will definitely be back to hopefully order what we wanted to try which was the beef tikka! Everyone was super friendly and it felt very "homey" as there were casual convos going on between staff and customers :)

Perfect place to go for some chicken Shwarma their lamb kabobs are also delicious! The restaurant is very clean and cute with nice seating. You can see them cooking through a window which is so cool to see the process! Our waitress was very sweet, patient, and fast.

    Business Accepts cash?

I'm sure it does. Businesses LOVE cash because it has no processing fees. I don't see why they wouldn't take cash.

    Open on Thanksgiving?

Yes, we are usually open in the evenings on Thanksgiving. However, for the most accurate holiday hours, we recommend checking our social media pages like Instagram and Facebook closer to the date.

Loved the roasted beets with candied pecans and just a hint of dill. It was a nice combination of sweet, savory, fresh, and a little herbaceous. Loved the zaalouk because the eggplant had such a nice roasted flavor. Lamb ribs had a bit of a dry crisp on the outside followed by tender bits inside. Very good with the tzatziki. This was served over a refreshing a salad with saffron threads which added a nice layer of flavor. Tomato salad was simple and fresh. Also had the Tirshi, a butterscotch squash which kind of fell flat for me. It just didn't seem to hold up to the others in terms of flavor. Never had a butterscotch squash (not sure if that was even just a typo) but was expecting a velvety, sweet butternut squash but it wasn't. Apple compote pastry was very good--flaky on the outside, soft inside with a yummy apple compote center that was just the right amount of sweetness for me. Service was generally good. Everyone was friendly. Pace of my food was reasonable. Waiter was knowledgeable. The only hiccup was I ordered a black tea but was served an herbal one. I didn't say anything and drank it because it was good either way. I was also surprised I wasn't asked about any food allergies. Liked the vibe. Felt like you could come casual or a little dressed up and you'd be good either way. Overall a win and would recommend. If I'm in the area again I'd go back to try other things.

Upon entry, my guest and I were greeted promptly and invited to sit anywhere we liked. My guest and I immediately noticed the traditional Turkish aromatics that filled the establishment. The waitress who tended to our table was engaging and explained the menu in depth as well as vouched for the food's authenticity. As my guest and I wanted to try multiple menu items, we elected to order the dishes that offered an array of food. Appetizer: Cold Platter This dish included hummus, babaganoush, dolma, ezme, and piyaz. The plater was properly "stacked" with the flavors of the app. going from "punchy" to mild. The piyaz was a perfectly balanced white bean salad packed with Mediterranean flavors. This combination of white beans, tomatoes, onions, and parsley was simple and yet deliciously satisfying! The dolma on this dish was a perfect combination of filling vegetables, grape seeds, Rumex, hornbeam, and quince leaves, with a kick of lemon. The babaganoush was light and refreshing. The simple combination of roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt is something that is not to be missed if you are looking for a vitamin packed dip. The Ezme "mashed" was made mainly with tomatoes, cucumber, and olive oil and packed a little punch, which most likely was accredited to the peppers. Main: Hot Mixed Platter This dish included meatballs, chicken, beef, and lamb (doner) atop veggies and rice. All the meats on the plate were seasoned to perfection and tender. My guest and I ate the meats so quickly that I am not able to appropriately describe the flavors other than with the a word, "delectable". Dessert: Dessert Platter This platter had a sampling of Tiramisu, čupavci, KÜnefe, and Baklava. Although the čupavci and KÜnefe looked great, I couldn't eat them as they both are made with coconuts (to which I am allergic). I actually took a bite of the KÜnefe before I realized that it had coconut shavings in it. With this dessert, the cheese is arranged between two layers of Kadayıf (shredded phyllo), cooked until golden, and soaked in a sweet syrup. The čupavci (sponge cake) was soaked in chocolate sauce, then dipped in unsweetened, shredded coconut. Fun fact: Čupavci means "furry" because of the fuzzy surface the coconut provides, which I learned when I visited Turkey many years ago. Java Folks who read my reviews know that I am a java junkie. So, of course, I requested the Turkish coffee. Turkish coffee is prepared with more water than its Italian counterparts and is meant to be sipped rather than drunk quickly like a shot. There is also a tradition of reading the grinds at the bottom of the cup to tell fortunes, known as tasseography. Turkish coffee cups are small, similar to the size of an espresso cup, but with a rich history of their own. This coffee is prepared traditionally and provided a much needed pick me up. This family restaurant has authentic quality food and the highest level of service. If in the area, this locally owned spot is worth a try. Total for the meal before tip $89.00 #supportlocal

I hadn't eaten all day, so I was absolutely ready for calories and nutrients. I ended up getting a falafel plate that let me mix and match a few things -- falafel, babaganoush, tzatziki, grape leaves, and an eggplant salad that sounded interesting. I didn't realize the eggplant salad would be served very cold -- like straight-from-the-fridge cold -- which just wasn't my thing. The falafel itself was okay, but not great. It was kind of chewy and brown all the way through instead of that nice warm, soft, and green-on-the-inside falafel you get at really good spots. The dolmas were fine, the tzatziki was a little too creamy for me, but the babaganoush was definitely the standout -- rich, flavorful, maybe a bit heavy on the oil, but I didn't mind it. When the server checked in and asked if something was wrong with the salad, as I had not made a dent in it, I mentioned it was really cold, and he said, "That's how it's supposed to be." Fair enough -- just not my preference. Overall, it was a decent lunch for around $20 including tip. The location is pretty unassuming, and it did the job for a quick midday bite, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back.

The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood.
