I ordered the butter chicken and honestly it didn't taste like butter chicken at all--it was more like a sweet Asian-style curry. Not what I was expecting. The wait time for the order was also pretty long, even though it wasn't busy. They offer a daily buffet for $14.99, and I ordered to-go because I didn't want the buffet. It seemed like they just used the buffet butter chicken for my order instead of making a fresh batch, which was disappointing since I wasn't even dining in for the buffet. While I was there, I also heard other customers mentioning the buffet items were cold and not being kept warm enough. On top of that, one of the employees was on the phone loudly arguing and cussing out another staff member right in front of customers, which made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable. read more

Ok you have to hear me out about this place! Many times I have seen the name "fusion" and said nah! I want something authentic! Then by mistake I saw Pakistani something on a review... and my jaw dropped! Got in the car and drove right away to check it out! This place has changed so many times from Mediterranean... to Indian... the buffet set up is still there. The lady is super duper sweet! She is Indian from Mumbai! I asked for help getting a Pakistani dish.... Oh! I was not expecting it to be what showed up at my table! It was a sizzling iron pot? With goat and spices? I should have written the name... check the video! Then..... I was told they have Pakistani kheer (rice pudding)... if I had space in my stomach I guarantee you I could eat 5 of those! A year and a half in San Antonio and after so many "no, not today" I finally gave in to trying Fusion Food for a necessary Sunday Brunch and YOWZA, what a scrumptious SURPRISE. You'd think that this is a smaller restaurant if you were just passing the plaza, but you'd be just as wrong as I was. This place is spacious and you could bring your entire khandaan and still find a place to sit comfortably. This was a S U N D A Y brunch and the price reflected that. At around $18 per person, there were a few vegetarian dishes and a LOT of meat dishes -- which means I actually got my money's worth. Nihari, Paya, Chicken Karahi, Chole, Halwa, Beef biryani were some of the name worthy ones. They also had puris & naan made to order. The meats were tender and I felt like I was sitting in a Dhaba fam style in Pakistan. It was just TOO GOOD. I also absolutely fell in love with the decor which included monuments of must see places in Pakistan. The women who were working were also quite pleasant and asked us a few times whether we needed anything. For newbies, I'd recommend calling in and asking what dishes are in their daily buffet (from 11-3pm). I hope to visit again when I'm craving a variety of dishes that taste like "ammi's cooking". This is a large place that would be good for groups. We got her close to open so it wasn't busy yet. They were setup for a weekend buffet which my group of 4 wasn't into so we asked to order off the menu. We ordered burgers and loaded fries. The loaded fries were awesome. It was like eating a pizza off fries. The burgers were good as well. Heavy on the pepper, not something i mind but worth mentioning. They had a great crust giving it a nice bite. We washed it down with some stellar tea. Downsides were the salad one of us ordered. Not so great. Also it took a while, a long while for the food to get to us. The service was minimal but polite. While cleaning out this week, I found a San Antonio unused gift card we bought from Costco and decided to use it. We thought to try @fusionfoodsa which was Pakistani/Indian restaurant in the Fredericksburg North plaza. They had a buffet for about $17. My husband and I did the buffet since we can eat some spicy food. We ordered Butter Chicken and Samosas for Dad for the non-spicy option. My husband and I both had the Mango Lassi. For the thumbs up, the food with the buffet was very good. Not sure what all the names of the dishes were. There was tendon that was very tender. Might have been goat. The Mango Delight dessert was yummy and Mohammed said it was ok for Dad to have some even though he didn't get the buffet. The thumbs down part is that they didn't end up having the Samosas which we found out 30 minutes later and the Butter Chicken came out as we were done eating. Mixed review really. Can't tell you if the chicken was good or not since we took it home. If it says anything about authenticity though, we were the only non-Pakistani/Indian patron there. read more

I was in the area and stopped in for lunch based on the reviews. I really wanted to give 2 stars but....because I was expecting Indian food and this was, kinda sorta. So for my ignorance, I added a star. I chose the buffet option because for me, that's a good way to sample what the restaurant has to offer. Unfortunately, the filling in the samosas was mushy and nondescript. The butter chicken was tasty, but the other dishes were room temperature and (I think it was goat) was a little tough. It was our first time trying Fusion Food. We opted for the buffet because I haven't had the opportunity to try many Pakistani dishes, and we made the right choice. The rice was soft and fresh, and each dish was spiced nicely. The naan was fresh, and the chai was a delicious pairing with the rice pudding for dessert. We had excellent service. Try this place for a fusion. Burperiod took a long time to receive it and the place was kind of emperiod. A little on the chargbut decent flavor period the hostess was very friendly and there was a lot of seating.. I don't think burgers is one of their specialties. But I hear the buffet. We stopped by here after 6 flags and cannot recommend it enough!! My husband tried the buffet which had a great variety but did not sacrifice quality. They had beef biryani, chicken boti, chili chicken and chicken fried rice. He especially loved the chicken karahi. My friend got the veggie pizza while I got the supreme, the portion size was huge, not greasy and had flavorful toppings. It was great to be able to have halal beef sausage among other meat toppings. The ambience was great, not noisy and a great place to relax after a tiring day. The customer service was the highlight, they're super kind, attentive and Faisal even let us try the Falooda shots with homemade ice creams! Honestly I'm not sure what some of the negative reviews are on about. This has to be some of the best Pakistani food I've had in Texas! Everything about the food feels so authentic and comes out really fresh. Not pictured is the haleem and nihari that was also amazing! I'm disappointed to write this because I wanted to like this food so much but unfortunately did not live up to our hopes. The customer service is really great, the staff seems friendly but the food was just not appetizing. Meat Lovers Pizza: 3/5. The sauce was okay, the toppings are okay but the crust itself was bland and had really no taste. We had a medium pie which can fill two people pretty easily. Wings: 2/5 There was nothing special about these wings. They were barely seasoned and they charged 60 cents per sauce which blows my mind because if you order it without sauce, it has zero flavor. We had mango habanero which had no spice and the Frank Red Hot which was bland. Customer Service: 5/5. The person that helped us order was a really nice guy and he walked us through some of the options and wait time was not bad at all. Overall, I'm iffy about going back but maybe I'll try their burger or deep dish. Their pizza and wings are nothing better than what you can make at home so skip out on that for now until they get the recipe right. They are in the process of moving therefore there menu is limited. Beef khausay had an odd taste and smelled poorly. My review is mainly based on the fried chicken sandwiches my family and I tried. It was my first time going to this restaurant with my wife and brother. I heard that it was one of the really good halal places in the area, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a Chicago style meat lovers pizza as well as loaded fries. The food came out about 15 minutes after we ordered so the service was pretty quick. I was about to order a large pizza but the waitress had said that since the slices are heavy it's better to just get a medium (and she was right). We could only eat one slice each that day since it was so filling and then we took the rest home. Although the food was great, the atmosphere was not. We sat on one of the booths and I saw strands of hair behind me. Most booths were not clean, and neither were some of the tables. I found one table that wasn't as dirty, but when I moved one of the chairs to sit down, my hands got a little sticky. I'm not sure if they're short staffed since there was only one lady working in the customer area, but we were the only ones there so I had been wondering why it wasn't fully clean. The restaurant isn't that big to where it would be really hard to clean the booths and tables. It'd probably take me about 30 minutes at the most to thoroughly clean each booth and table. I'll probably be ordering takeout next time until the atmosphere is cleaner. read more

This location was a major disappointment. I came over looking for a new place as I love Indian/Pakistani food , and this was not it. First id like to discuss the service. The waiter didn't seem very bright when taking my order or answering questions, and it took a good while to take my order or bring a drink, and when I ordered a drink I asked for an iced tea, the drink they brought me a was can of brisk tea. After telling them that's not what I wanted it seemed they had no ordinary drinks besides canned cola or water bottles. So i opted for a bottled water. Now with the food. I got the chicken biryani and their "chicken tikka fries". When I received the food, they brought me a singular napkin and I had to wait about 5-10 minutes for someone to come so I could ask for more. The biryani was disappointing, only 3 pieces of boned chicken and just a pile of rice with no onions or presentation. Seasoning wasn't great either, and the chicken was mediocre at best, it wasn't that tender or tasty. And their "chicken tikka fries" was the worst. It tasted like someone baked a pile of fries with canned tomato paste and put cheese over the top. It was like pizza fries not chicken tikka fries, terrible pizza fries at that. Maybe it was my fault for ordering something that seemed like an unconventional but I still hoped for something better. One thing I will say is I ordered garlic bread on the side and that was good, bread was fluffy and fresh. Besides that, almost everything about this place is awful. Arguably Worst of all of the entire experience was the interior. From what I've heard this is a new location and it seems like some of the paint was already ripping off the walls and it had a strange almost fish like smell inside. Also it was hotter in there than it was outside. It must've been roughly 90° inside, the interior was incredibly hot and the air felt stale, like as if there was no type of air conditioning or recirculation at all in there. I had to get a to go box and leave early because I almost started sweating just sitting inside. The only reason I put up with it when I walked in was because I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the food. I couldn't have been more wrong. Overall I don't recommend this location , if you're looking for authentic Indian/Pakistani cuisine, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Pretty cool spot! I wanted a burger for dinner but not from a fast food restaurant. I decided to try their "Bomb Burger." This usually includes something called "Doner Meat" and I think its lamb and beef mixed together? I couldnt try it because I was told their machine was getting fixed so I had to opt for two regular beef patties. Regardless, the burger was very good! I noticed my burger included the standard tomato and lettuce but also cucumber! It was a serendipitous experience! I also ordered steak fries and it was covered with melted gooey cheese! All in all, a nice place that I dont live too far from. I gave it a four star rating because nothing really "wowed" me. The customer service was great but the food was just... good. Sam the owner greeted my family and I as we were seated at our table. He was very genuine and gave advise and suggestions as to what everything was. My husband ordered the grilled platter and my sons ordered the Butter Chicken another chicken dish. The portion sizes were large. I wanted to try their calzone so that is what I ordered. The food was amazing. Very authentic taste and the best we have had in San Antonio. I highly recommend this family owned restaurant. We will definitely be back.
