And it's quite good I should have asked for the brand. I had the burrito again and the husband had the Wrangler. The playlist was also very good. Ethereal-sounding music. Recommend: Not for me. Food: I ordered the queso & chips, shrimp Baja taco, and trailer park chicken taco. The tacos are big, so you do get plenty of food. I felt as if two tacos was enough for me but what I will say is that they lack seasoning. The Baja shrimp taco would be better if the shrimp were cut up in smaller pieces and had some type of seasoning. The shrimp tasted almost boiled. The chicken taco was the same, no seasoning. Both have lots of veggies included. I went back on two different occasions and both times it was the same. The one thing I would go back for is the queso. It was soooo good! Creamy, enough spice, tang, and cheesiness. The chips are fresh and crunch, they go well with the queso. Service: this is kinda of a self service type establishment. You order via kiosk. I think if they get super busy, they'll have cashiers take orders. The kiosks are fairly easy to work. Once the food is ordered someone delivers it to you. It's pretty fast. Other than the delivery of food, I didn't encounter any service staff. Ambiance: Almost reminds me of Chachos but a bit more expensive. Wow...another great Yelp find. I was in the mood for shrimp tacos and used that for the search and Torchy's popped up. I mean...come on...the name at least sparks interest. Anyways we go and they have a nice selection of tacos and you can mix-&-match. Service was friendly and great. Stopped by for lunch after a walk around McAllister Park. These tacos are amazing! I had the trailer Park and the Baja Shrimp tacos ( both recommended by our server). Both were very good. I have to say the favorite part of the meal was the chips and Green Chile queso....wow! I could have eaten the whole thing myself. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating inside. The servers were friendly and helpful. There are plenty of choices from the menu. Parking is easy out front. This is a good choice for lunch or dinner. read more

Oh Torchy's, I think you just "torched" yourself. (Face palm.) I've been a long time Torchy's Taco fan, with this location being a favorite for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The greatest aspect of Torchy's was the swiftness of service, cleanliness, and, of course, the food. For me, the Democrat and the queso have been my loyal friends. But on this last visit with my son, I walked in to a computer screen to "self-checkout", which was absurd as I had to maneuver through which items, to what tortilla and what topping, etc. I've done the same procedure for a take-out order but never in person. And definitely not in-person while trying to control my young son. The best part?! The audacity to ask for a TIP!!! For what?! THEN, after going through the absurd ordering process, I proceeded to try to find a table to sit at that was CLEAN!! So, being a mom, I pulled out wipes and cleaned down my own table. The only service actually provided that day? Bringing out my food. Thanks Torchy's, because, as many of you know, I then clean up my own table. So again, what am I tipping for?! Needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant dining experience and probably my last visit. Self-service has gotten so out of control that Torchy's may as well hire robots, at least they might be properly programmed to clean. read more

Torchy's is the perfect spot for a casual meal with amazing flavors The Crossroads taco is a smoky, flavorful dream with tender brisket, while the Mr. Orange is a fresh and zesty delight with blackened salmon that just melts in your mouth. Both are a must try. I think one taco is more than enough for one person. I wouldn't do more than 2. Every time I come to this location I have to use a kiosk. The kiosk process is cumbersome & time consuming. Then, after I use the kiosk I have to find someone to get my drink cup. There's even a printed sign posted below the kiosk asking customers not to go behind the counter to get a drink or drink cup. The person who answered my last review claimed the kiosks are for overflow & not used normally. This is not my experience. If your restaurant is going to be self-service, then allow customers to grab a cup or drink without waiting even longer to find the ever-missing employee behind the counter. read more

We love your food, so I'm saddened to write this review. We came in tonight and had such extreme difficulty ordering from the kiosk that we left, hungry kids and all. The counter attendant was not helpful at all, even though we were clearly struggling. When I was finally finished, an error message came up -- twice -- as I tried to pay. This was despite there being no line when we showed up. Please allow a human to take orders and get rid of the kiosks. First time trying Tex Mex, I was looking forward to it but after the food I had, I will sadly not be returning here. As a 100% Mexican I take my tacos very seriously. My wife and I ordered 2 Tacos each, rice and beans, chips and salsa and a Mexican Coke. My first Taco was the "Naughty Santa" chorizo and shrimp with condiments on it. At first I thought it sounded amazing but I was wrong. The chorizo was too salty and the shrimp was very bland. The 2 do not compliment each other. My 2nd Taco was the "The Tipsy Chick" marinated chicken and grilled chicken with and other condiments on it. It was really sweet. A gross kind of sweet. The Rice and Beans were not good. Just no flavor at all and dry. The chips and Salsa: the salsa had good flavor but no heat. The chips were ok but a bit grainy. Wasted potential. My wife's Tacos were just ok too. The service was great but the food was not. Why is there no flavor in the meat? I understand Tex Mex is different than Mexican food but they should have some standards. Food was bland and very underwhelming, too many things on the tacos made the flavors not mix well and ended up being just a mess in your mouth. One of my favorite fast food taco places in Texas, I cannot believe it took me over a year to finally try this place out. My friends and I randomly wanted to try some tacos and we decided to go here. Trailerpark, hands down one of the best tacos they have if you love fried chicken. They can make the taco trashy by adding queso and removing the lettuce. Other tacos include green chile pork, barbacoa (Democrat), Baja shrimp, jalapeno cheddar sausage (Republican). Salmon (Mr. Orange), and much more. I typically order three tacos at other places, however, I only get two tacos here due to the large portion size. The only reason why I don't give this place five stars is because their churros are mediocre. Nothing too spectacular, maybe I am biased but I love Disney's churros and they do not compare. In my opinion, they come out a bit hard instead of airy and light. Since the churro itself is already very sweet, I don't use the side of slice de leche. Overall, I will definitely miss this place when I move. read more

The taco names are unusual and reasonably priced. If you order a side of salsa or guac and chips order just one taco because definitely you'll be full. The guacamole is always fresh and shared for a group of 4 people. They serve sodas and alcohol too. If you're not mood for a taco they sell bowls, burritos and salads too. read more

Every single time my tacos are made incorrectly and I don't order anything off the menu or substitutions. Straight off the menu basic tacos. ALWAYS wrong. Tonight I checked before I left and was like hey it's missing green chilies. She's like okay goes back and has it remade. Jokes on me. I should have checked because it was made even worse. It was the chicken and a handful of a cheese in a hard tortilla. Honestly last time I'll be back. Torchy's Taco Torturous Torment If you head to the bar at Torchy's Taco's, be prepared for a possibly bad time. Here are some highlights(actually, lowlights) of my experience here: -Waited 20 minute to order, another couple arrived at minute 10 and ordered 5 minutes before me -Ordered, waited 13 minutes before I was asked "Did you order something?" by the bartender I ordered with. Ticket was lost, order was not placed. -Couple, arrived after me and got drinks/food sooner than I did, then complained their chips and queso was wrong...it was my chips and queso. They also had the gall to ask another patron (not me, sitting next to them) if they ordered queso. -Ignored after that for around 20 minutes. I had a marg, I should be happy! Right? -Ordered another drink and three tacos. Two tacos came out, asked about the third...you guessed it...messed up order. Asked if I wanted to take it home...hard no. -My idiot face, I guess, shouldn't have sat in front of the wash/sanitize sink. Splashes of cleaning water kept finding their way onto the bar top in front of me. Makes you feel good about your food and drinks. ______________ I will say, they did "attempt" to redeem themselves and asked to give me chips and queso to go, for free. I didn't really have space in my fridge for it, so I had to pass. Plus, this was before I had ANY food. Really felt like I was being shoved out the door. The poor bartender I had was new, and wasn't doing well. They barely had any help, and really needed it. Not to mention a large group flooded the bar right before I came in, at least that's what the manager said. So, Torchy's tacos...mediocre tacos...world apocalyptic service...still paid $30 after all was said and done for two drinks, two tacos, and some heartburn. I feel like I was ripped off, to be honest. I cannot, more vehemently, recommend people away from this place. And, I know, this sounds almost disgruntled employee...but, I'm from out of town, and don't live here. I'm sitting in shock at all the ineptitude and it was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had. I hope I'm banking karma, if I need more, I know where to go. read more
