Sei pizza bar has been on my list of places to try for the past few years. We were finally able to secure reservations on a Thursday night for dinner. We were also fortunate to have found street parking less than a block away which nice. Waited less than 10 mins for our table to be ready as we had a party of 4. Started the meal off with the burrata and a caesar salad. The burrata was perfect and paired well with the toasted bread slices. We all thought the caesar salad was just ok as they tossed it with quite a bit of salad dressing and made it pretty salty. As for the pizzas, we ordered the Sei margherita, funghi and bismarck. Of the 3, we all thought the Sei margherita was the best. My wife is a huge mushroom fan and thought the funghi didn't have much flavor though there was a ton of shaved mushrooms on top. The bismarck was the one that we all thought was just ok. I thought the pizza dough lacked a bit of flavor but it did have a nice bite to it. Having been able to try quite a few pizzerias in Tokyo, I think we prefer them out there. Not saying Sei isn't good, it just doesn't compare. Needless to say, we had quite a few slices to pack but am glad I succumbed to the pressure and ordered their tiramisu as it was hella tasty! I was easily able to find street parking out front and pick up my pizza immediately. I found the pizza to be slightly burnt and too salty. I understand the hype. Sei Pizza is fantastic. The bread is satisfyingly doughy, fresh, light, and airy. The ingredients are clean, refreshing, and intentional. A tomato based sauce with Fior di latte cheese and perfectly crisp pepperoni. Not gonna lie, I ate 3/4 of the pie on my own. Bianca was a white sauce with Fior di Latte and uniquely a lemon preserve. Pretty distinct citrus flavor so not sure how many of you will relate to it. Very unique flavoring. Had 2 slices but not a pie you can eat alone in my opinion. I want to preface the review that I didn't get to dine in this time but ended up taking my pies to go. This is my 3rd time here and one of my absolute favorite pizza spots. There's a reason they rank top 2 in the USA... it's honestly well deserved!! The place is small so if you want to do a walk in be prepared to wait, but the wait is honestly so random. One time I got in 25 minutes later and next time 45 minutes. First time, I got takeout and was honestly disappointed. The pizza got cold during the 12 minute walk back to my apartment and it just didn't hit the same because it wasn't fresh. Second time, we did a walk-in on a Sunday and somehow got really lucky. Waited about 20 minutes at a nearby coffee shop because of cancellations. We got the Margherita special and Ruti's pizza, and both were out of this world. Especially the Margherita special... this is hands down my favorite pizza i've tried in LA. I tend to gravitate toward classic flavors and they did everything right with this one. The crust alone... probably the best Neapolitan dough I've had in my life. It's pillowy, soft, slightly chewy, and just has that perfect structure. Only thing to note is their pizzas are VERY floppy. Like... really floppy. So if that's not your thing, you might not love it as much. Ruti's pizza is a white base with soppressata, fresh arugula, and hot honey. The sweet and spicy combo worked really well, super balanced and not overwhelming. We also got the tricolor salad which was a great starter. Very fresh, bright, and tangy from the lemon dressing. It cuts through the heaviness of the pizza perfectly. Third time, we did another walk-in on a Saturday around 2:30 PM and got seated within 30 minutes. At this point I'm convinced I just have good luck with the wait times!! We ordered the mala lamb sausage, diavola, bianca, and tiramisu. My favorite this time was the bianca. It was lighter and acted as a really nice palate cleanser between the heavier pizzas. You can actually taste the lemon in it, which surprisingly I loved on pizza. Only thing is you have to eat it fast because once it cools down, the cheese solidifies pretty quickly. The mala lamb sausage is definitely a crowd favorite, but not my personal favorite.... It leans heavier and the lamb flavor comes through pretty strong. If you like bold flavors you'll probably love it, but I personally prefer something more classic and clean like the margherita or the bianca. The diavola was solid. The soppressata brought the right amount of spice and everything felt really balanced. And the tiramisu... I will always get this if I have room for dessert. It's a good portion size!! The three of us shared it after already eating three pizzas (and still had 3 slices leftover) and we were completely stuffed. I don't understand how Sei Pizza was rated the #2 pizza place in the country. I was really excited to try it because I love a good pizza. But it was disappointing all around. I ordered online around noon for a 6:30 pickup (earlier was not available). When I arrived right at 6:30 I was told they were behind and it would be another 15 minutes. Given there's nowhere to park and wait to pick up, we drove around for 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes later it was ready. By the time we got back with the pizza the oil had leaked through the box onto my pants which was a mess to clean up. We had ordered the funghi pizza and the margarita with added prosciutto cotto. Both were very soggy. The funghi pizza was very salty, and both had burnt edges on the crust which I guess is their thing but doesn't taste good. Parking is a little tough. All street parking with meters. Sat at the bar, which ended up being a great spot to watch everything coming out of the kitchen. The place has a clean, minimal feel but still feels warm and welcoming. Ordered the Bismarck and the Diavola, plus an orange San Pellegrino Aranciata. The Bismarck was incredible. The crust had that perfect balance of light, airy, and slightly crisp, and once the egg mixed into everything it just brought the whole pizza together. Simple ingredients but really well executed. Pizzeria Sei is definitely a must try in west LA for its Tokyo-style pizza with its delicate mochi-like dough which is soft and thin yet has a light crunch on the crust. My first visit was in August'25 where the mala lamb sausage pizza on their special menu blew me away. Flavor, texture, novelty, and presentation were 10/10! Also loved the small interior with the narrow hallway and bar seating to watch your pizza get freshly delivered from the wood fired oven. The Special Margherita with bufala was solid, just the most expected of the pizzas. The cheese gave it a little more depth, but compared to the others, it didn't stand out. The Diavola definitely brings heat. Not mild at all. It's like a spicy pepperoni but more intense and lingers a bit. The Bianca was a surprise. It had this light lemon and ricotta flavor that almost felt like a savory dessert, but in a good way. That one was probably my second favorite. The Patate was easily the best thing we ordered. Rich, filling, and full of flavor. It reminded me of a really elevated scalloped potato, but on top of a perfect crust. After waiting that long, it was actually worth it. We had a reservation for 4 people that I fought to get exactly on the dot when reservations opened up, so it was a little frustrating when we arrived that they did not have a table ready for us. Eventually a table opened up and they stated we could move to it, but I just thought this was a little inefficient for a place that takes reservations. The caesar salad had too much dressing on it. You can get it without anchovies, so we ordered them on the side. I do think it needed a more acidic flavor profile to it. All the pizzas were a little bit oily and dripping. The very first bite of the pizzas was the best. But as it got colder, the quality and taste wasn't nearly as good as it was when it was fresh a couple minutes ago. The Patate pizza was a little too salty for me, but I did appreciate the bite when I drizzled truffle oil (ordered separately) on top. I wouldn't opt for this one next time. We also ordered the Bianca, which I was worried would be too similar in flavor to the Patate. But the flavors were distinct, likely due to the lemon flavor on the Bianca. This was so interesting and I really enjoyed it - this was my favorite and I would definitely order the Bianca again! We also ordered the Margherita which wasn't bad. It's probably recommended to eat this type of pizza with a fork and knife, but my whole party used our hands (as I'm sure others do too). To eat, we ordered the Mala Lamb Sausage ($29), Napoletana ($25), and two Margherita Special ($26). While each was delicious, if I had to choose a favorite, it would probably be the Napoletana. The olives, garlic, and capers were excellent, and I loved how much sauce was on it. The pizza dough taste and texture was phenomenal across everything we ordered. I'm not sure I've had a more enjoyable pizza before. If looking for top notch pizza in Los Angeles, I don't think you can do better than Pizzeria Sei. It really does live up to the hype. Food aside, service is friendly, fast, and efficient. The ambiance really isn't much, but it's nice enough. The price point is relatively affordable and the portions are satisfying. So incredibly delicious! After eating pizza here, I finally understand what real pizza is supposed to taste like. Everything I had before was just glorified American flatbread. The restaurant is clean, the service is fast, and the owner is super friendly and even came by to check if we were enjoying ourselves. One thing to note: reservations are strongly recommended since it gets so busy that walk-ins often can't get a table. P.S. A friend snagged a reservation which is how I finally ended up at Pizzeria Sei. It was on a Thursday night for 9PM but what mattered most, I finally got to try the pizza and salad I've been hearing about for a while now. I'll start with parking. If you haven't been to the Pico area, know it can be challenging. There's street parking and a few public lots (just follow the signs). I managed to snag a space in the public lot across the street, but behind the building. Know though, that it's a pay meter where you enter what space you parked in. However, you can't see the space numbers thanks to the awesome job by the City of LA and the wonderful job they're doing but still making sure to charge. Anyway, I paid it and just picked a random number - after all, I did enter my license plate as something to reference. Walking in, the space is cramped and really doesn't have any ambiance. It's like empty room with limited seating. A counter and a few tables. Definitely not a spot for large groups. But, I do like the open kitchen concept where you can watch how and where the magic happens. Unfortunately, I was seated at one of the tables so I only got a glance when going to the restroom. The service was good. The size of the space makes it easy in my opinion as everyone is someone's line of sight. I enjoyed how the staff handled my extra - to go order making sure the timing of dropping the order wouldn't leave me with a cold pie when I got home. Friendly and attentive. On to the reason I was there. The pizza ... well, ordered a Caesar salad too as well as a Tiramisu but the pizzas: Bianca and Margherita. I enjoyed both, favoring the Bianca as I liked the lemon hits so if you don't, you may want to avoid. I did like the Margherita - simple and tasty, not overpowered by basil or drenched in olive oil. The dough on both were nicely blistered leaving a crispy edge with the chewy center. Balanced so the pies weren't too saucy and served fresh and hot. Glad I finally got try Pizzeria Sei after all the hype. While the dining space isn't much to talk about and the parking situation (all of LA), the pizzas are what mattered most. Good service and the pies that were fresh, nice dough and good flavor - it was worth the wait to experience it even one time. Just not sure if it's on my "regular go to" list of spots. read more

I'll be honest, it didn't wow me. I was under the impression it would make me realize every pizza I had before can't compare. All I can say is, it's fresh. I don't know if they underseasoned the pizza the day I went, but I thought it was lacking flavor. I generally can tell when simplicity of ingredients speaks loudly through quality, but I thought the olive oil tasted normal. The dough has a good thin bite to it, nothing out of the ordinary. Marinara sauce is honestly a bit bland (it taste like water, I was expecting a rich umami slightly sweet slightly acidic flavor), I thought it was greenhouse grown tomatoes. The only thing I smelled in there that got my attention was the mala lamb pizza. Every other pizza didn't get my attention. The funghi pizza is just raw sliced baby bella. I was expecting a deep mushroom taste, but the enormous amount of mushrooms gave it a palate of undercooked bland fungi. I only tasted the garlic confit. The slightly raw mushroom field overshadowed everything else, I barely tasted the cheese. I'm not sure what's going on here, but a lot of people liked it. Maybe I just got a bad one? There wasn't much olive oil on the mushrooms to bring out the flavor. 2.5/5 The diavola gave me a better impression of this place, but I was still chasing for more. For some reason even with the basil and olives, I mainly tasted chili flakes. Again there wasn't really an aroma of what I'd expect from high quality olive oil/basil/marinara. The soppressata and the chili flakes were definitely singing the tunes here. 3.8/5 Very popular and busy. Location is small so it seems more exclusive. You get to watch the whole show up front at the counter. Sat down 10 minutes before my reservation and got seated immediately, service is quite good here. Would I come back to try other pizza? Yes. Would I recommend this as one of the best in LA? Probably not. read more

Came back for another pick up order. The restaurant was packed for dining in. They have very limited seating. This time the funghi crust was a bit burnt on the bottom, which I didn't enjoy. The toppings are the perfect combo though. The bianca was delicious, light, and lemony. It was something I'd want to eat on a pasta. The crust is soft and chewy and mochi. Read about the long lines and crazy wait, so we planned to come mid-afternoon. Arrived around 3-3:30pm on Sunday and luckily caught a lull where there were still a couple open tables left. We sat outside on the street -- pretty barebones setup and not the most comfortable since you're just breathing in car exhaust, but waiting for a table inside would've been an hour. Within 20 minutes of sitting down, a line going out the door had already formed. If you're looking to avoid a wait, come around 2-3pm! We ordered the margherita and the funghi. The margherita was pretty solid: bubbly crust with good char and a good ratio of mozzarella to tomato sauce. The tomato sauce wasn't anything special, but at least had the tanginess that lesser pizzas lack. Undercarriage was wonderfully thin and mostly held up against the toppings, although it was a tad too soggy even for a Neopolitan-style pie. The funghi was visually very appealing and shroomy. I wish they used varieties other than just boring crimini, but at least they weren't skimpy with the amount of mushrooms. Roasted garlic chunks added a nice kick. Unfortunately, the pie was too salty. Tried out the tiramisu for dessert, and it was also just pretty standard fare. Pies took about 20min to come out, so not too long for freshly-made pizza. For all its accolades, I'd put Pizzeria Sei in just the "pretty good" category. Nothing blew me away, but I'd come back for more. read more
