I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Sonny's lately and finally had the chance to check it out. It did not disappoint! I walked in around lunchtime and was able to grab a seat at the counter definitely the best seat in the house. It was great watching them prep and fire the pizzas right in front of me. I ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño (held the hot honey since it's not my thing) and it was out of the oven in less than 20 minutes. First off, these pizzas are huge. The pepperoni was curled and charred perfectly, and the fresh jalapeños added a great kick. Oh and a side of fresh basil ties it all together. This is easily some of the best East Coast style pizza I've had in a long time. Well done, Sonny's. Do yourself a favor and grab a pie from here. You're welcome!

So I've had all the bomb spots in NYC and New Haven, this our bomb spot IN LA! If you're looking for a true rendition of some east coast pies this is the spot. No parking lots, and very little seating is the secret sauce to a good pizza in LA. I saw this place on IG and I let them do its thing onto convincing me that I should try this place and it was far from perfect. It's was and ima say it, possibly the best pizza I have ever had in Los Angeles. I won't name drop the other 1-2 contenders but this was God tier! There I said it. GOD TIER PIZZA! So just need to mention every eatery that is doing extremely well will have lines and lots of wait. So be patient. You will have your pie soon! Order online or in person but buyer beware! Expect to wait. Even though my pizza said it will be ready at 2:15 I didn't leave until about 3. Patience is a virtue. 35 bucks later and a pizza box the size of Texas had me on my way home to share with my wife and some family. The size of the slice is HUGE. Real east coast style pizza I tell ya! Good flavor, perfect ratio of cheese, pep, sauce and crust. Amazing pizza won't let you down the slightest bit.

If you're chasing a true East Coast slice in LA, Sonny's Pizza is absolutely in that conversation and it's clear they take their shit seriously. Walking in, you immediately get that stripped-down, no-frills pizzeria vibe. It's not trying to be trendy or over-designe it's focused pretty small simple joint. You can tell the priority is the pizza, not the aesthetic or atmosphere. Let's start with what they do right, because there's a lot of it. The dough has that legit Jersey/New York backbone: thin, structured, and built for crackle. The sauce is bright and slightly tangy, not overly sweet, and it plays well with the cheese instead of overpowering it. It's not very pointy if that makes any sense, balanced but definitely could've use a bit more on my pepperoni pie. The cheese itself is pretty good melt, nice stretch, evenly laid. Toppings are handled with restraint and intention, whatever. They're good quality and that's what matters. Nothing feels sloppy or overdone in terms of quantity. Now here's where my experience slightly diverged from the hype. I know Sonny's leans into that crispy, no-flop undercarriage that's part of the appeal, their fucking selling point. But my pie came out a bit past that line. The bottom and edges had a noticeably darker char than expected borderline burnt in some spots. Not completely ruined, but enough to shift the flavor profile into a more bitter, overly toasted territory. It looked significantly different from the pizza some folks were eating in the bar and the table next to us. So idk dude. Not sure if I got what their exemplary perfect pizza is designed to be. Even after watching tons of videos on instagram and TikTok from people like jack dining room, how kev eats and 1 hour lunch break. To me it's clear there is a difference from what I ate to what's represented online and whatnot. Mine leaned heavier on the "well-done" side, which took away a bit of that ideal texture contrast. And even the cheese looked a bit different than what I saw advertised. Just by a bit but it was noticeable. The vibe overall is quick, efficient, and very East Coast.more "grab your slice and keep it moving" than a drawn-out dining experience. It gets busy, and you can see why. Lots of orders and people picking up. Bottom line: Sonny's is doing a lot right and absolutely deserves recognition for bringing legit East Coast-style pizza to LA. I just wish my particular pie had hit that sweet spot instead of drifting slightly into overcooked / lacking quality assurance territory Still one of the better slices in the city but definitely not the best. Still giving it a 5 because it tops anything you can get in shitty OC. At least we have Prince street and Slice House are here now and they execute what I'm basically looking for in pizza. Maybe I'm wrong though and it was standard. I guess we shall see on my next visit. Also deserves a 5 because it was still pretty damn tasty considering the circumstances and the potential for improvement is certainly there. Quality is quality, and they possess that and clearly they have a well defined style and concept. Thats the style I like. New York / New Jersey type shit. Look forward to coming back and ordering the plain and pepperoni jalapeño.

Dough was sad. Toppings were ok , meets expectation . Burrata was super good
    Joellen C.

Good flavor, the crust was a little chewy but that could be because we had it delivered and not fresh. Burrata was phenomenal and the highlight of the party. My pizza ranking: * pizzeria sei * pizzana * Roberta's * prince st pizza * Sonny's (toppings were more fresh than prince st but prince st had better dough and you eat way more dough per slice than toppings so prince st takes the cake)

Whenever the hype proves real, it's such a good feeling. And the hype is surely real with Sonny's. When they first got going about six months ago, it was wild trying to get a pizza but that initial craze has subsided a bit and you can order a pizza online for pickup pretty easily now. It's absolutely expensive for their pizza's but it's also absolutely worth it. However the most important piece is you need to eat the pizza immediately. My mouth is watering just thinking about how great it was, but the leftovers were mid. They have a few standing tables or get to your cat & shove that thing in your mouth - eat that pizza fresh! It's actually a pretty life changing experience. You must add Mike's Hot Honey for $2 and the Burrata for $8 and your Pepperoni pizza is going to come out to $55 when all is said and done. They only do full pizzas rn - no slices - so get ready to devour greatness. Important to also note, these pizzas are HUGE! I could barely finish one piece and my male friend barely finished 2. Massive sizes so hearing zomg, fifty dollar pizzas may be jarring - but I thought the price was pretty on point for the quality, size and care put into it. This is thin crusts done right, very crispy with well done edges, with the sauce and cheese becoming one ingredient melded together in gooey happiness. The pepperoni was well spread out over the base in small disc protein form. The burrata comes packaged up separately which is so smart to not drench the pizza into soggy abyss. With the hot honey and burrata, the pepperoni pizza is truly perfection. This definitely IS the best new pizza around town. LA's Pizza Game is so strong!

Sonny is LEGIT. Its definitely one of the best pies in CA. I got the pepperoni and Jalapeño, but I would suggest getting the hot honey on the side. Its not for everyone. I ordered it on the side, and I'm glad I did, because I didn't particularly enjoy it. But the pie itself, top notch! Just like most things in LA, the parking is horrendous, but this is definitely a must try pie.

So I went to Sonny for the 1st time few months back. My friend was raving about it..... Now let's get to the point. They don't let you custom your Pizza. Meaning you get cheese, there is no extra sauce added or cheese. I get it you want to just pop out pizza and make it consistently I respect that but my gawd that was the most dry pizza ive ever had. Think cheese it crunch dry. It needed a bit more sauce cheese was a bit on the dry as well pizza over all had a crunch to it but man. It needed ranch but did they have any....nope. Really think it's a influencer Hype spot. Most influencers have no taste buds. But anyways lets get to the Spicy pizza now that was good but dry once again you really need more sauce on it guys and the spicy was good with the honey it smacks but my gawd dry like the desert. If you go. Take extra ranch, take extra sauce, bc my gawd it was hard to digest... it's an ok spot. 5.7 out of 10 in my book. I'll go back and try it again. Maybe that score will change idk Im back 2nd review. Pizza was better. Who ever was there last time made it kinda mid. Today felt nice good sauce good amount of cheese the spicy one is good today. Definitely a hit or miss. One day good one day not. Order extra honey btw I brought my own ranch this time a must. 7.9 still a ok pizza.

Fine. Having grown up in CT and lived most of my adult life in NYC I don't think this is east coast style pizza by any stretch. Ordered a cheese with burrata. Crust was overly crisp (not hammered but borderline), sauce didn't have an individual note in the flavor and it was pretty dry save for using both cups of burrata on half of it. Eight good sized slices, it definitely was the size slice you would expect. There are less expensive options that are closer to a NY slice if that is what you are seeking. I do think if it was not cooked to the level of doneness it was it would have been better but not $53 better. Counter service was fine, everyone was heads down working but friendly. Weird to charge 10% ($4) to order pick up on the app.

Overall: Pizza is very nice and crisp, however, it is best enjoyed fresh otherwise it's not as good. It's definitely more on the expensive side. It was good to try and I may get it again if I am in the area but it's not worth driving out specifically just for this. The Service: Service is no frills counter. We ordered the pizza online for pick up. The downside is that if you have any issues with the order, there is no way to contact the restaurant. The people working the restaurant was nice though and recommended that we tried a slice before taking it home. They gave us some plates so we can try the pizza right then and there. The Food: We ordered the sausage and onion pizza for pick up. After arriving, we had to wait about 5-10 minutes additional time before pick up. We tried a slice right away and the pizza crust was nice and crisp. I felt like it was a bit saucy compared to some other pizzas I've had, but the crust was able to hold the sauce. Pizzas tasted really nicely seasoned with plenty of toppings. It was well balanced. Definitely tastes better when you eat right then and there versus when we brought it home to finish it up. Price: $35-$50 a pizza depending on which kind and which add ons you have. Definitely taste The Atmosphere: No frills spot with minimal seating. There's bar style seating where you can actual sit down and there are some tables where you can eat standing up. Not really a place to sit down and eat. It's more of a pick up and go place. Parking: Only street parking - we came at an off time and found parking at one of the side streets close by, but at peak hours, finding parking might be difficult.

Best New York style pizza in LA! My husband is absolutely obsessed with their pizza and will guarantee it's the best in town. Willing to bet if you can find better. The owners are great and provide outstanding service. The space is super chill too. 10/10!!!

Sonny's been on my radar for some months now and I finally had the opportunity to try them. I was able to order online and schedule pick up which is very convenient! Orders are ready on time, at least mine was. Location is definitely a no frills pizza parlor with stand up tables and seats along the bar with an open kitchen style if you prefer to eat there. I ordered the pepperoni with the works - burrata cheese and hot honey. Honestly the pizza is very good, under carriage hold nicely and the pizza is crispy at the right places. But $50+ with tax and tip is a little overpriced for me. But overall, still good pizza and worth a try if it's been on your list to try!

Brother this was worth the hype. The pizza isn't cheap but hey that's weho. Delicious crunchy pizza. Simple and fantastic. Seems like more of a get pickup and bounce kind of spot but there's some seating inside, and the interior is cool.

Came to Sonny's a few months ago as I heard nothing be great things. At the time they were only allowing pickup during certain time slots, but still let us eat inside at the counter. As for the pizza let's get into it: We ordered the Pepperoni & Jalapeño Pizza w/ Hot Honey and man it did not disappoint. The jalapeño and hot honey gave it a nice savory taste and a little heat, but the best part about this pizza had to be the crust. Had the perfect amount of char/crisp, would highly recommend eating it right away or reheating once home. Ambiance wise they did a really good job with the branding both inside and out. Parking isn't the best but that's LA for ya. I hope in the future they add a few other topping options, but overall a great experience. Would I go again? Yes!

The list clearly favors organic and biodynamic producers, which I always appreciate--minimal intervention, letting the terroir and varietal speak without unnecessary manipulation. The flight format was flexible, offering around five selections with the option to choose three pours. I went with a sparkling red, an orange wine, and a white--each bringing its own personality to the table. The sparkling red was lively and slightly unconventional, the orange wine had that textured, skin-contact complexity, and the white rounded things out with a clean, expressive finish. Our server elevated the experience by guiding the tasting order, which made a noticeable difference in how each wine showed. It's always a good sign when the staff understands how to pace a flight rather than just drop it off and walk away. We didn't explore the food menu this time, so I can't speak to the full program, but purely from a wine perspective, it lands at a solid 4 stars for me.
