This is the third See's location I have visited in the last couple months. I'm so addicted to their dark chocolate almond clusters. They always taste good no matter which See's I buy them from. I also like their brittle with almonds and strawberry candy. I think I caught the staff on an off day. It was a Saturday morning and there were no other customers in the store, but neither of the two employees greeted me or offered me a sample. I bought quite a bit of candy. The young man who rang me up was sniffling like he had allergies or a cold, and I was concerned it might be contagious and also felt bad that he had to come in to work. He spoke so softly I couldn't understand him. This See's has lots of good reviews and is a nice clean store, so I'll most likely be back. Hopefully things will go better next time. read more

I had a wonderful experience yesterday. I walked in around 5:45PM and was greeted by the two friendliest associates. The store itself was very clean and organized. Of course samples were given. The box I ordered was packed so nicely that I am kicking myself for not getting a picture. I highly recommend this location and please give kudos to the two working when I went. Love this location in the Oakridge mall. The employees are so sweet and welcoming. I love that they offer a free sample upon entering the store. Customer service here is excellent. I bought some goodies for St. Patrick's day and Easter. There are always so many options to pick from for gifts or for something just for my myself as a treat. read more

Waited 15 mins for someone to reopen the store and she took her sweet time for another 9 minutes to take care of the customer ahead of me. I won't waste time ever again waiting on these guys. This is the See's Candy at OakRidge Mall. What I like about this location is that Staff is always super friendly and helpful. They're willing to answer questions that we might have about the particular chocolates. They always offer samples and will sometimes offer you a special sample if you're not sure whether you'd like a particular Variety. Some people say that the prices can be high but it's really not that bad and it's nice that you're able to customize your boxes. We stop by every time we're in the mall for either a sample or to purchase something for a family member. They always have some kind of coupon that they give you to use on your next visit. Also, if you buy the discount gift certificates at Costco, it really is a good deal. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Walked in and there was a couple infront of me. Girl working said I can help who is next. They were not ready and asked me if I wanted to be helped. I walked to the display, girl turned back and made 9 boxes before I said I wanted to be helped. She turned around and said some bs about being "spaced out". Bull. I ordered a pound of candy. She put puts it in a paper bag. I am like wtf this is a holiday gift dont put $32 in candy in a effing paper bag. Iask for a box like the other employee working is putting orders smaller than mine in. No joke. Takes 5 mins to get it boxed (other employee helps 3 other people in this time. Box is ripped, no stickers and literally dirty (see pics). Didn't notice untill a few mins after while walking to exit the mall. Walk back and they are closed when I get back. Have to tap on window to ask to other to get me new box cause they gave me one that looked like a football player punted it. Other employee said "dont yell or complain". She reboxes it, stickers it and condescendinly says "you want to open it to check if it's ok". I paid 32 bucks for a box that was dirty, ripped and not taped (also this was LITERALLY 2 days before xmas). It wasnt one that was missing stuff so the comment was back handed. So if you want to deal with employees that pay no attention to customers and are condescending when they make a mistake than your narcissistic butt should come to this location. After five years of being gone from the mall it has finally returned : ) This is a great addition to the mall. They have a great selection of chocolates, truffles, lollipops, sugar free candies - such as sugar free peanut brittle, sugar free chocolate bars, sugar free chocolate covered almonds, seasonal candies for every major holiday, their signature truffles, the list is endless. Came here today and purchased two boxes of lollipops and one box of chocolates. The entire shop is clean and neatly organized. See's chocolates are made with Guittard and if you're a chocoholic like myself you know that Guittard is the best. Guittard was founded in 1868 and their quality is exceptional. This will be my go to spot for chocolates and candies that I purchase for family and friends. Omgoodness!!! 5 stars for letting us choose our own samples!!! This is unheard of! Every time I go to a See's candies they hand us something from their pile that they have already chosen as the sample of the day. Today, the nice super-friendly lady let us pick whatever we wanted! I was shocked, and my daughter was happy! I have to admit though I did end up buying a little less than I normally buy because I was able to choose the cup that I was planning on buying. It was one of those days where I just needed one cup to make it through the day. I mean what more can I say about a store that sells chocolates?!? I love it, only because it sells chocolate! In regards to location, it's in the mall, and it's upstairs closer to the men's Macy's side. If you happen to walk by, definitely get a sample! read more

I had a great experience at this store today. I was there on Thursday October 19th at about 11AM. There was only one person working and I totally failed to get her name, but she was super-nice, and super patient! I went in there to fill a box for my family - could not remember for the life of me what things my family likes (as they all like things I don't, and vice versa) but just went in on a whim to buy them a box. I was the worst kind of customer: "Umm.. I don't know what I want, can I please stare at everything and waste your time while you stand there waiting for me to figure myself out?" Okay, I didn't say that, but I wouldn't have blamed her for thinking that. Quite the opposite, she was polite, totally understanding, totally patient and just chatting with me the entire time while I slowly made choices and figured myself out. That says a lot! When you stop to think about it, working in the customer service industry is never easy. You have to deal with all kinds of cranky, confused, problematic people. I was that person today. Yet, the store staffer was patient, kind, and really went out of her way to make me feel welcome and at ease. This isn't the closest location to where I live, but it's my new favorite, and I will be returning there again because of the fantastic customer service and staff I experienced today. It was so wonderful that this store opened in the mall, and it sure beats the one-person operation before that only sold prepacked boxes. Also, the staff over the years has been friendly and fast even during the Holiday Season and the days before Valentine's Day. I have been frequenting this location because I love the large parking lot; it is more calm than parking in the Almaden Valley, El Cerrito, Stanford Shopping Center, Hillsdale Mall, and even the West San Jose locations. Also, it seems that you usually have to ask for a sample at those stores. This location tends to offer you a sample as soon as you enter unless the staffers are very busy. I would give 0 stars, if possible. I Purchased a 2 lb box of candy today online and a small bag of chews. Came out to $60 (that price is Insane). Husband offered to pick it up so I put the order under his name. I just noticed they only gave us ONE POUND instead of the TWO pounds I paid for. Of course, he didn't think a place would screw up A TWO ITEM ORDER. Why is it so hard for people to do their job? I don't understand. Why is it, every place we go, the order is always wrong?! That was a $45 box I paid for!!! PAY ATTENTION! Do the job you are paid to do! Why does the customer always have to double check your work?! We have to pay and then we have to make sure you people do your job correctly. It's just unbelievable. Like your stuff isn't ridiculously expensive enough and now you have to short customers almost half their order. So sick and tired of these companies and restaurants in this city; they all have sub-par service and so many cannot do their jobs properly. Worst experience ever in customer service at See's Oakridge Mall location!!!! Last night my husband and I went to Oakridge Mall to have dinner at Sanraku Restaurant which was a wonderful experience and excellent customer service. We decided to walk around and stop by See's Candies to buy a box of chocolate for a friend and some individual chocolate pieces for us to enjoy. It was around 7:30 PM and the store was totally empty. We looked around and when it came to ordering, the sales person Anthony was the most disrespectful person that we have ever encountered in our lives. He was constantly rolling his eyes up at us, huffing and puffing at our questions and made us feel like he was doing us a favor by us being in "his" store. I even apologetically asked him if he was being bothered by our presence. I did this not once but twice!!! We could not believe how rude and obnoxious a sales person can be. We will definitely never go back to that store. Lolli and Pops is just around the corner and the lady there is super nice. Today I called to speak with the manager at the Almaden Expressway store where I usually get my chocolates from. The manager Ray was amazing and extremely polite as was the person who picked up the phone and greeted me with the most wonderful voice. Ray even offered to give me free chocolate but I declined as that was not my intention for the call. I specifically did not call the store at Oakridge Mall because I was so disappointed in the way we were spoken to and treated by Anthony that I wanted absolutely no dealings with them whatsoever. My husband and I run a business so we understand and pride ourselves on excellent customer service. It is important to speak up when one encounters disrespect in order for the disrespectful person, in this case Anthony, to realize that their behavior is wrong and they need to change their attitude. Don't use the excuse of I was having a bad day. We all have them but we don't bring them to work with us. If we don't speak up against being disrespected and nothing gets done, then we are doomed to be living in a society full of people with bad manners. Spread kindness in this world and kindness will come back to you!!! read more

Pretty charming store! The inside is a bit smaller than your usual store, but everything is laid out in a way that gives access to all of the candies--which there is actually a pretty big variety of. My trip was short and sweet (much like the chocolates) and the cashier was super kind and definitely not like other begrudged cashiers within the mall :) read more

They had a nice selection. And I was able to find what I wanted. Little disturbed to hear a approximately 90-year-old lady almost being mocked because she didn't want to pay $0.25 for a bag. She had a good reason as San Jose prices are $0.10 and the associate said they go by San Francisco prices without much of an explanation. I could tell that the lady working there was more annoyed than the lady asking for an explanation as to why they would charge San Francisco prices in San Jose and I didn't think that was correct since it doesn't make sense. With minimum wage keeping on the rise customer service seems to go down. read more

We recently decided to try see's candy in oak ridge again. We only chose 2 chocolates each. The double caramel "limited edition" was given as our sample and it was fresh and delicious... so we had high hopes... unfortunately the white divinity, rum nougat and Mayfair's we selected were so terrible tasting we tossed them out. (Such a bummer) I will say that the young lady working there was delightful and really kind so the stars are for her and her customer service but the chocolate there is still rancid. I was pregnant the first time we went so we thought it was because my keen sense of pregnancy taste was in play but no... the candy there is off - it is so weird. I love this location of See's candy. The women who work here (or at least the ones who have helped me) are very helpful, patient, and friendly. I was in here a couple months ago with a friend who was moving to Louisiana, where, sadly, See's does not exist. She wanted to customize a pound box of the best See's chocolates as a gift for her boyfriend's family (who live in Louisiana). The woman who helped us gave us recommendations and patiently grabbed each chocolate as my friend carefully contemplated her selections. And then, the lady let us CHOOSE our free sample! I went the other day because I was craving chocolate (I'm 36 weeks pregnant ) and thought of see's candy scince I was in Oakridge. I went and walked right up and this older lady seen me she seamed like she was doing something so I waited patiently for her to finish but then another lady walked in and stood right next to me (in front of the chocolate bar) and the worker went right up to her and said hi can i help you. Christina P's customer service made my experience worse than the sample that she didn't even offer us. My family is from out of town and didn't know what they wanted and her patience was visibly deteriorating as was her poor choice in lipstick color. Besides the point, her face told us she wasn't happy to serve us. She charged my uncle for the $50 in candy that we spent, and then proceeded to make us pay for a bag in cash. I absolutely love See's Candies! It's my ultimate favorite chocolate assortment box of candies. Tastes so good and my very favorites are the milk pecan buds, fudge, almond royal, peanut brittle, toffee-ettes, and molasse chips. I love receiving assortment boxes during special occasions or just because I feel like eating chocolates! I love chocolates! I get boxes for Christmas, Valentine's Day and birthdays. I also give these out as gifts too and both toddlers, kids and adults love it! There's samples to try upon entering the store and this store is very clean and well kept. read more

I bought a box of seasonal chocolates oranges wafer and when I came home, it only have half of the box because the lady sold me the display box. I called the store and talked to the manager Thuan. He offered me a refund right away. I came in the next day for a refund; The manager refund my money and allow me to keep the chocolate also. I've been going to See's Candies all my life and have NEVER had such a bad experience as I did on Saturday at this mall shop. There were 3 or 4 people assisting folks, and when it was my turn, I was expecting to get offered a sample as per usual. Did not happen!! We were discussing getting some of the Irish potatoes in addition to the pieces I wanted to pick, so I told the person behind the counter that we'd need a couple of those too. He told me they were out in the store and I'd need to get them, which was fine... I figured I'd grab them after we picked out pieces. But he walked away and started helping someone else instead. Finally another person offered to help, still no offer of a sample.... this person didn't appear to understand my selections but finally I was able to get the maybe 6 pieces we wanted plus the potatoes. I watched as several others were offered samples but still didn't get offered one. My husband finally asked the person helping us if we could have a sample and she huffed and got us two pieces. (didn't offer the tray for us to take one, just grabbed two and tossed them to us) The entire experience made me feel like I'd done something wrong and like it was a bother to assist me and that everyone else there was more important. Possibly a bad day for them, but definitely never stepping into that shop again. So very disappointing when See's has always been stellar for customer service! read more
