Came in tonight for ice cream with the hubby and left disappointed. Three employees working and it was an hour before closing (empty btw). Immediately you felt like the two employees behind the counter were hoping no one came in anymore. Looking at us like "are you ready yet?" At one point they looked at each other annoyed while my husband looked indecisive. That's when I got upset and told my husband I didn't want anything. It was a hot day yesterday and after a good meal nearby, we chanced upon this BR location on the way back to the car and decided to make a stop. I get why they have their doors open for the ventilation but it was HOT inside. Looks like they have some remodeling work going on and there were paint cans and other construction-related items visible. They have indoor and some outdoor seating. The line was long but it moved fairly quickly since they had quite a few staff which was nice. The ice cream was good as expected but boo to not having waffle bowls. The parking is limited and narrow in this shopping center (one way traffic) or you could do street parking. Came here with my son after his piano lessons. Picked up two quarts and two little kid cups of ice cream on this cold day in March :) It's really spacious inside and there are a good number of tables to sit at if you decided on eating here. The chocolate fudge was creamy and sweet but the consistency of my peanut butter n' chocolate one wasn't creamy, perhaps the peanut butter was the reason why but both tasted extremely well together. So I bought 5 Groupon ice cream vouchers that I was not able to use due to covid having us on lockdown. My voucher expired so I called the store to see if they were still with redeem it and spoke to a lady named Gloria who said that she would still honor the vouchers. I called today to make sure that I would not be getting embarrassed once I got there try to use my vouchers. I was then told by the man who answered the phone that he would call me back so he could verify what I told with Gloria. When he called back he said that Gloria said that she would not except the vouchers and that I had never spoken to her about this. That is not true, I spoke to her in October. My larger issue, though, was definitely apparent when I went to pick up the "message heart" cake after work on the 14th. The thing was the size of my fist, shaped like a guitar pick, and hastily decorated. It also seemed that there were maybe other, more important guitar pick cakes that needed space to chill in the freezer as it appeared my cake was bubbled and sagging from possible prolonged exposure to less-than-ideal temperatures for ice cream frosting. Service was nothing to write home about as it seemed the two people behind the counter were struggling to serve the four customers in line, though in my last review I called out that they were a little too over-eager to assist so I guess I will just always be a miserable person either way. The upshot was that it tasted decent, so there's always that to cling to. So, let's review: + Ample parking in a private lot (which is prime in Willow Glen) - Inconsistent service + Comes through with pre-prepared cakes - Doesn't deliver with pre-ordered cakes + Delicious product you've eaten your entire life - Susie Cakes is around the corner As much as I hate (and would never want to be one of) those people who staunchly declare that they are NEVER returning back somewhere, I can confidently say I will more than likely never order a cake from here ahead of time again.
