I tried this spot for the first time and ordered two vegan "oxtail" platters. I even called ahead to ask what the oxtail was made from and was told mushrooms, which sounded great. Later, when I went to send the menu link to a friend, I noticed it actually says the oxtail is made from wheat gluten. I personally wouldn't have ordered it had I known, so I think it's a little wild that I was given the wrong info when I called. That being said -- the food itself was pretty solid: * Rice: Super flavorful, prob in the top five rice I've ever had...though I wish there was a bit more. * "Oxtail": Stewed and seasoned perfectly, rich and tasty, but the portion felt skimpy for $25 a plate. * Cabbage: Overcooked and a little skimpy as well. * Plantain: Fried and sweet to perfection and a generous portion. Overall, the flavors were on point, but between the mix-up on ingredients and the portion size for the price, I left with mixed feelings. read more

Upon making the very first visit to the restaurant, I inquired about a few things, such as the ordering process and the availability on particular food items. I tried messaging them via instagram, but the communication was delayed and at times, left unread and unresponsive. So, I went ahead and gave them a visit right when they opened on saturday afternoon. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, with the exception of one hiccup, in which I'll explain later in the review. I ordered the brown stew plate, the jerk wrap and a callaloo patty. Everything was delicious!!!!! In addition I requested the cinnamon bun, as it was listed on their menu for the week, but they didn't offer it. The handsome gentleman who took my order was kind and even shared with me some of his favorites from the menu. On my second trip to the restaurant, I visited them right when they opened on friday evening. This time, the experience was a tad bit chaotic. Their patties sold out within an hour of opening. Their cinnamon bun was listed as part of the items offered that week, but turned out they actually weren't offering it. The wait time to receive your order was about an hour long! I've never experienced waiting an hour for a takeout order. They definitely could utilize some extra helping hands, as other visitors experienced the same mishaps as well. Besides the takeout experience, I ordered the rasta pasta, the djon djon platter and a spinach patty. Again, the food was delicious!!!!! Despite of the unavailability on certain food items, the long wait time and the unresponsiveness, I would definitely visit again....but I pray that the operation of the restaurant and the communication get's better as this vegan business THRIVES!!! Yummylicious!! I came across this unassuming place when searching for vegan food in the area. I decided to give it a try. Boy was I NOT disappointed! I ordered the BBQ Bow and a Jamaica Patty ( I wanted the Callaloo one) however, they didn't have it, so I ordered the chickpea one . Everything was delicious. Like a feast in my mouth! The bowl was supper tasty with the right amount of flavors. The rice was very good! The slaw , the mushrooms, everything. The Patty was so good you wouldn't even know you're not eating a real beef patty. I 100% recommend this place to everyone, vegans and non vegans because once you give this place a try you wouldn't want to eat meat again:) unfortunately, the restaurant is a takeout only, and it's about 25 minutes from me or else I would probably be there every day! They also offer a meal prep service, which is a win, win for someone looking to eat good delicious and healthy meals. Side note- the service was great, the owner was there and was super friendly, the cashier was very nice and the woman who cook the food were very polite and friendly as well. What a beautiful place! The moment I walked in, I could feel the love and positive energy. Their juices are refreshing, and the food? Absolutely delicious--every bite was pure bliss! I wish the service matched the food. They did not honor the oxtail bowl price noted on their site. Instead, they let the order go through, then canceled it right as went to pick it up. The cancelation reason was 'out of stock.' So, they went through all of that trouble just because they didn't want to honor the price they have on their website. It's deceitful and arrogant ar best.
