Not only did he answer every one of my (many!) questions along the way, but he also personally arranged delivery from Seattle to Lake Chelan, directly to my boat slip, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. Parker truly went above and beyond, and I'm so grateful for his professionalism, dedication, and genuine care throughout the process. If you're looking for someone who really puts the customer first, Parker is your guy!

I would be cautious when dealing with this company for a few reasons. We were looking at a used…read moreboat with them. The price was negotiated before we looked at it with the caveat that the boat was in good condition. They also signed a letter of intent on price with a new trailer vs. using one they had there. Experience when we got there to test drive was great and kid that took us out on the water was super nice. However when we pulled the boat out to look at the hull (when they said boat was in good condition), the entire outdrive was very chewed up (more than just the skeg itself). Parker who was the salesman kind of just dismissed us saying we couldn't make a deal that day (for various reasons) and went back on the letter of intent price we had in writing for both the boat (couple hundred bucks difference) and the new trailer price (couple thousand dollars difference). He said he would call the next morning and never did. Something must have happened with him going back on what he personally wrote in writing vs. what he said that day however having multiple dishonest practices is enough for me to not do business with them.

Waypoint may be a good shop for larger boats, but my experience with a small portable outboard was…read morefrustrating due to pricing transparency and communication. I brought in my 2012 9.8hp Tohatsu to get a quote on fixing a minor lower unit leak. The staff were polite and got back to me quickly. The repair quote came back at $780.90, which is actually more than the price of a brand-new lower unit ($687.99). When I declined the repair, I was then billed $346.02 just to prepare the quote. After I pointed out that an environmental fee shouldn't apply to a quote, the bill was reduced to $259.79. I was never verbally told there would be a minimum diagnostic charge to produce the quote. The shop labor rate is $235/hour, which is fine if that's their pricing structure -- but it would have been helpful to know that before dropping off a small portable outboard. I don't blame the technician, and I'm sure this shop does good work. But for small outboards this pricing structure doesn't really make sense, and the lack of clear communication upfront created a bad experience. If the shop had simply said on the phone or at drop-off that there is a 1-hour minimum diagnostic charge ($235+) to produce a quote, I could have made an informed decision and avoided the situation. If you have a small portable outboard, I recommend getting clear pricing over the phone.

Calm and relaxed -- he made sure he new what we wanted, telling us the first time we came to see him that the boat we were interested in was not for us. "I'll call you when I get something here that you want," he told us. A month later we drove home with exactly what our family hoped for. When the boat for us showed up Darren answered any questions we had. He speaks with few words and doesn't embellish or pretend to know everything about everything. What I'm saying is that you can tell he's telling the truth. On our test drive we had a small problem that Darren quickly diagnosed with a ballast tank. When we arrived back at the shop he sent us out for lunch while he fixed the problem. With the problem fixed Darren sent us home saying, "You're going to love this boat. Call me if you need anything."

Darren and I shared a few emails and texts, and settled on a price without a bunch of back/forth or games. Before buying from NW Inboards, I shopped at two other dealers who were no where near as straight-forward. At pick up, Darren set the pace according to mine -- however much time I needed was good by Darren. Zac quickly helped me get squared away with the new boat and Paul answered my random mechanical questions. The guys were a great team, professional and super passionate about boating. I learned a bunch from them and I'm 110% happy with the purchase experience. Best of all, my family is thrilled with our new boat from NW Inboards!

Anyway - Mike was SO helpful answering our questions and did so after hours. I have spoken with numerous other boat shops before when I've had rookie questions, but they've usually been snappy and impatient. Not Mike! He didn't make me feel rushed to get off the phone or that I was inconveniencing him. He gave me some great basic winterization info and I feel so much better going into this nasty cold weather coming this weekend. Thanks Mike! I am definitely going to keep Union Marine in mind for future services.

I really liked the sales effort and personal attention before and during the long sales process…read more Scott Kay was knowledgeable and attentive until the deal went through and then he dropped us like a hot rock. The new MasterCraft XT22 has had some issues with software and although he said he would be there for us and promised to install the registration stickers, he did not. He just directed me to Julia the Service lead via email. The service interaction has not been a stellar experience. Although Julia is responsive, there is little effort or follow through substance in the interactions. My boat is flawed and no one seems to care and if they do they have no sense of urgency or reasonable communication. It could be that they can't fix it without MasterCraft's help, but they could be more attentive to the interval of communication and give me some timeline to resolution. It is too bad, I had hoped they would be better at all of this as it is their main business. One note of praise goes to June who help us test our boat and even taught us to surf. She lent us her wake board and was very friendly and considerate with her sharing of knowledge and expertise.
